CloudTalk
CloudTalk is an AI-powered business phone system for sales and support teams. It combines global calling in 160+ countries, conversation intelligence and autonomous AI voice agents that answer, qualify and follow up around the clock.
What is CloudTalk?
CloudTalk is a cloud business phone system for sales and support teams, extended with a layer of artificial intelligence and a set of autonomous voice agents. It was founded in 2016 in Bratislava, Slovakia, by Martin Malych and Viktor Vanek, starting from an embeddable click-to-call widget; the company now reports more than 5,500 business customers across over 100 countries, 30,000+ professionals using the product daily, and a team of 140+ people of 20+ nationalities.
The product stacks three layers. The first is voice infrastructure: phone numbers in more than 160 countries, number porting, multi-carrier routing, redundant servers, multi-region backup and a claimed 99.999% uptime. On top of it sit the call-handling tools a contact centre expects: the Call Flow Designer for custom routes, IVR menus, call queues, call recording, real-time monitoring, analytics and dashboards, plus international SMS and inbound and outbound WhatsApp messaging.
The second layer is agent productivity and coaching. Outbound teams get the AI Sales Dialer with preview, power and parallel modes, the last dialling up to ten lines simultaneously, together with answering-machine detection, voicemail drop and click-to-call from browser or CRM. Managers listen in on live calls, whisper guidance or barge in, then review recordings, call logs and routes afterwards.
The third layer is AI. Conversation Intelligence transcribes calls, writes summaries and AI notes, tags them, extracts topics and trending themes, scores calls against custom criteria, measures sentiment and talk-to-listen ratio, and exports the result to PDF or the CRM. Above that, AI Voice Agents run on their own: an AI Receptionist covering inbound calls 24/7 with conversational routing, FAQ answers and message taking, and an AI Specialist handling multi-step support, sales and billing workflows with identity authentication and calendar sync, in 60+ languages and accents.
CloudTalk is reached through a web dashboard, a browser phone, desktop apps for Windows, Mac and Linux, and the CloudTalk Go mobile app on iOS and Android. A documented REST API and 100+ integrations, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zendesk, Intercom, Shopify, Zapier and Make, connect it to the rest of the stack.

When to use CloudTalk / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if CloudTalk is the right fit.
When to use CloudTalk
- Outbound sales teams running high call volumes, who need preview, power and parallel dialling on up to ten lines at once
- Inbound support teams that keep missing calls and want conditional routing, queues, IVR menus and AI voice agents covering nights and weekends
- Small and mid-sized companies selling across borders, who need local numbers in 160+ countries without buying phone hardware
- CRM-driven revenue teams already working in Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zendesk or Intercom and wanting calls logged automatically
- Sales and support managers who coach: live listening, whisper and barge-in during calls, then call scoring, sentiment and topic analysis afterwards
When not to use CloudTalk
- Solo users or very small teams looking for a permanently free phone line: CloudTalk publishes a 14-day trial, not a free plan
- Teams under three seats that want the Expert plan, which carries a three-licence minimum
- Buyers who need month-to-month flexibility at the advertised rate: the headline prices assume annual billing and a twelve-month commitment
- Organisations whose calls are handled in languages other than English, French, German, Portuguese or Spanish, since automatic transcription covers only those five
- Companies outside the United States that need built-in emergency (911) calling, which CloudTalk supplies only to customers located in the US
How to use CloudTalk
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Start the 14-day free trial from the signup page; no credit card is required and 50 AI voice agent minutes are included
- Pick the plan that matches the team: Lite, Starter and Essential accept a single licence, Expert requires three
- Choose local or international numbers in the countries you sell into, or port existing numbers through the documented porting process
- Set up call handling in the Call Flow Designer: IVR menus, queues, business hours and condition-based routing
- Invite agents and assign role-based permissions, with Google SSO if your organisation uses it
- Connect the CRM or helpdesk through a one-click integration so calls, notes and tags sync automatically
- Install the apps your team needs: desktop phone for Windows, Mac or Linux, the browser phone, or CloudTalk Go on iOS and Android
- Turn on the AI features you want, since Conversation Intelligence and AI Voice Agents are optional add-ons activated on request
- Build an AI voice agent for a specific job, using the white-glove onboarding included with AI Receptionist
- Monitor results in the dashboard and adjust plans from there: upgrades apply immediately, downgrades at the end of the billing period
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Genuinely international voice coverage, with numbers in more than 160 countries and a claimed 99.999% uptime
- Telephony and AI live in the same product rather than in a bolt-on module, from dialling to transcription, scoring and autonomous agents
- Parallel dialling on up to ten lines, alongside power and preview modes, for teams whose bottleneck is connect rate
- Verifiable security posture: SOC 2 Type II, ISO/IEC 27001:2022, PCI-DSS, HIPAA and CCPA, with a public Trust Center holding 13 documents
- Unusually transparent privacy documentation: a dated public DPA and a named subprocessor list showing each provider's processing country
- Broad ecosystem, with more than 100 integrations covering Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zendesk, Shopify, Zapier and Make
- A 14-day trial without a credit card, no setup or onboarding fees, and a one-licence minimum on the entry plans
Cons
- No permanent free plan for telephony: the only free route is the 14-day trial
- Every pricing card routes to Contact Sales rather than to self-service checkout, so buying involves a sales conversation
- Headline prices assume annual billing; paying monthly costs 35 to 40% more, and the annual rate carries a twelve-month commitment
- Billing is in advance with no refunds or credits for partial months, unused time or plan changes
- Call recording retention is capped at one month on the Lite and Starter plans
- Automatic transcription covers only five languages, a narrow set next to the 60+ languages advertised for the voice agents
- The no-training clause explicitly binds third-party AI subprocessors only; CloudTalk's own stance on training is not stated
Pricing & Plans
CloudTalk does not publish a permanent free plan for its phone system; access starts with a 14-day free trial that requires no credit card. The lowest paid entry point is the Lite plan at EUR 19 per user per month with annual billing, rising to EUR 27 per user per month if billed monthly. AI Voice Agents are charged separately as an add-on, starting at EUR 99 per month for 200 minutes. No setup or onboarding fees are charged.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how CloudTalk handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR compliance is stated explicitly and documented. The controller is CloudTalk s.r.o., Tallerova 4, 811 02 Bratislava, Slovakia (company ID 46817832); the Privacy Notice, last updated on 23 July 2026, is written around the GDPR and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. A Data Processing Agreement is published, with the version in force dated 13 February 2026 and two earlier versions kept online. A named subprocessor list, updated on 30 July 2026, gives each provider's processing country and transfer mechanism. Transfers outside the EEA rely on adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses or the DPF, and a copy of the safeguards can be requested through the Trust Center. Data subject requests go to privacy@cloudtalk.io. No Article 27 representative is designated, which is normal for an EU-established company.
Who owns the data?
Under the Terms and Conditions, the customer keeps ownership of its own material: the input sent to the AI features and the output returned are explicitly the customer's property. CloudTalk and its affiliates, for their part, own every intellectual property right in the Services and in the site itself. To run the service, the customer grants CloudTalk and its affiliates a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, copy, transmit, distribute and store customer data as far as needed to provide and improve the Services, and CloudTalk undertakes to disclose that data only to parties who need access in order to deliver them.
Reuse rights
The customer can reuse its own data and the AI outputs freely, without asking CloudTalk for permission, and may retrieve or erase them during a 30-day retrieval window when leaving the service. Two limits apply. First, the Terms forbid using CloudTalk AI features or their output to build competing foundation models, to pass output off as purely human-written, or to run biometric categorisation and unsupervised automated decisions with adverse effects on individuals. Second, CloudTalk keeps a licence over the same data for delivering and improving the Services. On training, the Terms state only that third-party AI subprocessors are not allowed to train their models on customer data; CloudTalk's own position is not spelled out.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
CloudTalk hosts its infrastructure on Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform across nine locations worldwide, in data centres certified SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, with multi-level biometric access control and full redundancy; CloudTalk employees have no physical access to the facilities. The published subprocessor list names the processing countries: Germany, the United States, Singapore, Australia and Brazil for AWS, Germany for Snowflake and MongoDB, and the United States for Cloudflare, Datadog and Confluent. The AI providers behind transcription and voice agents, including OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Deepgram, Google and AssemblyAI, all process in the United States. Transfers outside the EEA rely on adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. All traffic to and from the platform is encrypted with 256-bit encryption, API and application endpoints are TLS/SSL only with an A+ rating on Qualys SSL Labs, and WebRTC calls are encrypted automatically. No named hosting region is offered as a choice.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting CloudTalk.
- The advertised prices are the annual rates: paying monthly costs 35 to 40% more, and the annual discount locks you in for twelve months
- Billing runs in advance and CloudTalk grants no refunds or credits for partial months, unused time or plan changes, so downgrades are only effective at the end of a period
- The Expert plan needs three licences, which puts the real entry cost at EUR 147 per month on annual billing rather than EUR 49
- Included outbound minutes vary by destination country and by plan, so a team calling one market heavily can exceed the bundle without noticing
- Call recordings are kept only one month on Lite and Starter: teams relying on recordings for training or dispute resolution should check the plan first
- AI voice agents delegate speech processing to third parties such as OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Deepgram, Google and AssemblyAI, all processing in the United States, which matters for sensitive conversations
- Letting an AI agent handle first contact can erode the team's own listening skills and hide weak signals a human would catch, so keep sampling real calls rather than reading summaries only
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low for a standard deployment. CloudTalk advertises self-guided setup in under five minutes and a dashboard configurable from the browser, with no setup or onboarding fees and a trial that starts without a credit card. Integrations are one-click, and Google SSO is supported. Two things take longer: porting existing numbers, which follows a documented but non-instant process, and building multi-step AI voice agents, where CloudTalk provides white-glove onboarding on the AI Receptionist tier and expert implementation on AI Specialist. Custom work goes through the documented REST API.

Should you pick CloudTalk?
CloudTalk is a mature product rather than a young experiment: founded in Bratislava in 2016, backed by roughly USD 36 million in venture funding, and used by more than 5,500 companies in over 100 countries. Its strength is that telephony and artificial intelligence sit in the same platform. Numbers in 160+ countries, three automatic dialling modes, IVR and conditional routing, transcription, call scoring, sentiment analysis and autonomous voice agents all come from one vendor and one contract, which is unusual in a market where the phone system and the conversation analytics are typically bought separately. The compliance story is equally solid for a mid-sized vendor: SOC 2 Type II, ISO/IEC 27001:2022, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, a dated public DPA and a subprocessor list that names each provider's country of processing.
The reservations are commercial rather than technical. There is no permanent free plan, every pricing card leads to a sales conversation, the advertised rates assume twelve months of annual billing, and invoices are paid in advance with no credit for unused time. Some limits deserve attention before signing: recordings are kept only one month on the two cheapest plans, automatic transcription covers five languages while the voice agents advertise sixty, and emergency 911 calling exists only for customers located in the United States. One point stays open: the clause forbidding training on customer data explicitly binds third-party subprocessors, not CloudTalk itself.
The teams best served are sales and support organisations in small and mid-sized companies with real call volume, an existing CRM and customers in several countries. For an occasional line or a team of one, the pricing structure makes it a poor fit.
