GDPR overview
10Web never claims to be GDPR compliant. The one direct mention sits in its security statement, under the heading GDPR and data retention, and reads in full: "A detailed GDPR compliance statement is coming soon." That page is dated 30 June 2021. Concrete instruments do exist. A published Data Processing Agreement defines Data Protection Laws as Regulation (EU) 2016/679, imposes equivalent written obligations on sub-processors and gives customers ten days to object to a new one. The privacy policy, last updated 21 March 2024, promises breach notification by email within 72 hours plus a report to the relevant authority, and offers access, export and deletion on request at info@10web.io. No Article 27 EU representative and no data protection officer are named. The policy devotes far more space to CalOPPA, COPPA and CAN-SPAM.
Who owns the data?
TenWeb, Inc., a Delaware corporation, runs the platform. Site files, databases and logs sit in the customer's own isolated container, and the deliverable is a standard WordPress install the customer keeps. Payment cards are never held by 10Web: card data travels straight from the browser to Stripe. Two clauses pull the other way. The company reserves the right to refuse, suspend or terminate an account at any time without prior notice. And any idea a user shares with 10Web while communicating with it is deemed made available gratuitously, with no compensation offered and an explicit waiver of the author's moral rights.

The vendor is TenWeb, Inc., a Delaware corporation, and the terms of service are governed by US federal law and the law of the State of Delaware. Infrastructure spans four providers — Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure and OVH — with customer website hosting specifically powered by Google Cloud. The security statement is explicit about the split: every server except the hosting infrastructure sits in US data centres, while hosted websites live in data centres spread across North America, Europe and Asia, chosen by the customer. The privacy policy adds that servers are "in EU and/or in locations subject to Adequacy Decision and/or EU-US privacy Shield". Customer site backups are stored in Amazon S3, logically separated per site, and critical services are duplicated across data centres.
