Overview

What is Apiday?

Apiday is an ESG data management and GHG assessment platform for private markets, sold under the baseline Sustainability pays off. It rests on three announced building blocks: a universal ESG data model, automation tools, and a team of human ESG experts. The data model claims over 3,000 ESG data points, built by mapping the main reporting frameworks and investor questionnaires onto a single structure.

Ten products sit on that base: Sustainability Reporting, ESG Requests & DDQ, ESG Due Diligence, ESG Reports, Scoring & Performance, Value Creation, GHG Emissions, ESG Factsheets, SFDR Compliance and EU Taxonomy. Six packaged solutions address private equity, private credit, institutional LPs, venture capital, infrastructure and portfolio companies.

Collection is campaign-based. Campaigns are shaped around a fund's architecture, its asset classes and the frameworks in scope; responses are tracked live, reminders are automated, and entries are validated as they are typed, with alerts on incorrect totals and outlying values. Incoming LP questionnaires and DDQs are handled the other way round: an Excel, Word or PDF file is dropped in, its structure is read automatically without manual mapping, answers are pre-filled by AI from past responses, document analysis and data already collected, and the file comes back in its original formatting.

On emissions, Apiday offers proxy estimates or detailed calculation, drawing on 3,000+ verified benchmarks and supporting custom emission factors, with results meant to be usable for regulatory or investor reporting. Claimed framework coverage spans NFRD, CSRD and ESRS, SFDR and the EU Taxonomy, plus B Corp, EcoVadis, SASB/ISSB and CDP through a partner network. Auditability is presented as a design principle: each data point links back to its source, auditors can be invited read-only, and a CSRD methodology note is provided. The in-house experts are described as former Big Four non-financial reporting auditors, available on demand.

Access is through a web application at app.apiday.com, where an ecosystem manager models country offices, business units, departments and subsidiaries without limit. Announced lead times run from a few hours to two or three weeks for a carbon footprint, three to four weeks for PAI reporting, four to eight weeks to set up a first fund and two to three months for a full CSRD cycle. One caveat: the audience figures differ from one page to another, so none of them should be read as a settled number.

What it does

  • Run ESG data collection campaigns across portfolio companies and track responses live, with automatic reminders.
  • Ingest an ESG questionnaire or DDQ in Excel, Word or PDF and pre-fill it automatically, then return it in its original layout.
  • Calculate or estimate a greenhouse gas footprint from more than 3,000 verified benchmarks.
  • Produce SFDR disclosures, covering pre-contractual documents, website disclosures and PAI indicators.
  • Run EU Taxonomy eligibility screening and produce the matching disclosures.
  • Score and benchmark ESG performance against private-market references, and run pre-investment ESG due diligence.
  • Generate client-branded ESG reports and investor factsheets, with automatic validation and alerts on inconsistent entries.

When to use Apiday / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if Apiday is the right fit.

When to use Apiday

  • Private equity, private credit, venture capital and infrastructure fund managers who have to run ESG data collection campaigns across a whole portfolio.
  • Investor relations teams that keep receiving LP questionnaires and DDQs in Excel, Word or PDF and have to answer them one by one.
  • Sustainability and ESG managers in companies of 250 employees and above preparing a CSRD or ESRS reporting cycle.
  • Finance, legal and compliance teams responsible for SFDR disclosures, PAI indicators and EU Taxonomy eligibility screening, with no ESG expertise required to start.
  • Companies measuring a carbon footprint for the first time, or in their second or third year, and wanting an audit-ready result rather than a spreadsheet.

When not to use Apiday

  • Buyers who need published pricing or a self-serve subscription: every route in goes through a sales demo and a custom quote.
  • One-off needs and very small budgets: the platform fee is an annual subscription, priced case by case.
  • Anyone working outside B2B ESG and sustainability reporting, since the platform does nothing else.
  • Developers and teams that need a documented public API, a mobile app or a browser extension: none of them is published.
  • IT teams expecting named connectors to an existing stack, or an interface in a language other than English: no third-party integration and no interface language is named on the site.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Broad and explicit regulatory coverage: SFDR, CSRD and ESRS, NFRD and the EU Taxonomy, plus B Corp, EcoVadis, SASB/ISSB and CDP.
  • Questionnaires and DDQs are ingested in any format, without manual mapping, and returned in the layout they arrived in.
  • Human support is part of the offer: in-house ESG experts presented as former Big Four non-financial reporting auditors.
  • Auditability is claimed end to end: every data point linked to its source, read-only auditor access, CSRD methodology note supplied.
  • Data hosted in Europe (Belgium), operations and support conducted in France, and an ISO 27001 certification claimed in the footer.
  • Efficiency figures put forward by the publisher: a 96% average campaign response rate, LP requests answered two to three times faster, and a claim of being ten times less expensive than consultants.
  • Named client references with dated case studies (Extantia, Invest-NL, Revaia, Rubio), from a European publisher subject to the GDPR with a reachable DPO.

Cons

  • No public pricing at all: an annual platform fee and a custom quote, with a sales demo as the only way in. The “Test it for free” and “Sign-up is free” wording leads to the same demo form, not to a self-serve trial.
  • No terms and conditions are published, even though the contact form refers to “terms & conditions”.
  • No third-party integration is named anywhere: the FAQ promises to integrate with most software packages without citing a single tool.
  • No public API documentation, despite a brand name built on the word “API”.
  • No mobile application and no browser extension; access is web-only.
  • Audience figures contradict each other from page to page (1,500, 3,200, 5,000 and 10,000 companies), and the privacy policy contradicts the legal notice on share capital and registration number.
  • The privacy policy, last updated on 13/12/23, points to a retention table that does not exist, says nothing about whether customer data is used to train models, offers no opt-out, mentions no DPA, and no interface language is announced.
Pricing

Pricing & Plans

No price is published. The website has no pricing page, and no amount appears in the sitemap or in any of the pages collected. Apiday states that its offering is customised to each client's needs, use cases and regulatory requirements, and that “Our platform fee is an annual subscription, with several additional plan options and one-time advisory for specific engagements”; a tailored quote, and a pilot on request, are the stated route to a figure. There is no permanent free tier: account creation is described as free and product pages carry a “Test it for free” call to action, but both lead to the demo request form. The contact page claims the platform is ten times less expensive than consultants, which is a comparison and not a price. No entry price point and no currency can therefore be stated for this tool.

Plan 1
  • Platform fee charged as an annual subscription. No commercial name and no amount are published.
Plan 3
  • One-time advisory billed per engagement
  • for specific assignments.
Plan 4
  • Support packages differentiated by client maturity
  • from teams just getting started to those already familiar with CSRD.
Prices and plans listed above may evolve. Always check the official pricing page before subscribing.
Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how Apiday handles your data.

GDPR overview

GDPR implementation is documented, not merely asserted. The privacy policy runs to twelve sections explicitly based on Regulation 2016/679 and was last updated on 13/12/23. A Data Protection Officer is named and reachable at dpo@apiday.com, the role being outsourced to DPO Consulting, 18 rue Pasquier, 75008 Paris; as a French company, Apiday needs no Article 27 representative. Section 8 states that the platform is hosted on servers in Europe, with no transfer outside the EU without an adequate level of protection or standard contractual clauses, and section 7 that all operating and support activities are conducted in France by Apiday staff. Cookies are limited to strictly necessary functional ones, and the CNIL is named as the authority for complaints. The FAQ claims full GDPR compliance with all data encrypted and stored within the EU; the footer claims ISO 27001 certification without linking to a certificate.

Who owns the data?

Apiday publishes no terms and conditions: the contact form refers to “terms & conditions” without a link, and the sitemap contains no such page, so the privacy policy is the only public contractual source. It states that Apiday acts as data controller for website browsing and the user journey, and as processor for the service itself, which leaves the client responsible for the data it uploads. “User Data” covers the user and the company they work for, including personal and sensitive data. Apiday states “We do not sell your data”; sharing is limited to named providers (Webflow for the website, Google Cloud Platform for the application) and to legal authorities, with reuse for other purposes prohibited.

Reuse rights

No terms of use are published, so there is no licence clause to read: the practical answer comes from the FAQ and the privacy policy. Apiday states that its goal is “to facilitate interoperability - not control your data on our platform”, that raw export is available, and that it can integrate with most software packages on both the data input and output side, including custom extraction algorithms. The deliverables are the client's to circulate freely: ESG reports, SFDR disclosures, investor factsheets and completed questionnaires returned in their original format. Every data point is linked back to its source, and auditors can be invited with view-only permission. The privacy policy grants Apiday no licence over customer content and never mentions using customer data to train models, while section 11 sets out the full set of GDPR rights: access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent, restriction and post-mortem instructions. The limit is contractual rather than technical: with no published terms, nothing states in writing what happens to the data once the subscription ends.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Apiday states that personal data is kept only for as long as the purpose requires, taking into account business needs, contractual requirements, legal obligations and the recommendations of the supervisory authorities. Beyond that principle, no figure is published: section 9 of the privacy policy refers the reader to the table in section 5 for retention periods by data type, but section 5 contains no such table, which was checked in the page's HTML. No retention period by data type is therefore disclosed anywhere. One concrete rule does exist: in an anonymous session, that is without creating an Apiday account, personal data is automatically deleted after a maximum of one hour. The right to erasure and the right to restriction of processing can be exercised through the DPO. Apart from anonymous sessions and the announced anonymisation of uploaded HR databases, no anonymisation of customer data is described.

Hosting summary

The platform is operated from within the European Union. The privacy policy names Google Cloud Platform as the service provider for app.apiday.com, with servers located in Belgium, and states that the Apiday platform processing personal data for the purposes of the service is hosted on servers in Europe, with no transfer to third countries without an adequate level of protection or standard contractual clauses. The FAQ adds that all data is encrypted and stored within the EU, and the policy states that all operating and support activities are conducted in France by Apiday staff, which places the jurisdiction in France and the EU. On security, individual components are protected by authentication and network filtering, regular audits are carried out by a recognised information security firm, and exchanges are secured by an SSL certificate with a 2048-bit RSA key; the footer claims ISO 27001 certification with no link to a certificate. One point is left unresolved: the legal notice names Infomaniak in Geneva as the website host, while the privacy policy names Webflow. The contradiction concerns the marketing site rather than the application.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Apiday.

  • Sensitive and sometimes personal data leaves your organisation: the privacy policy states explicitly that User Data may include personal and sensitive data belonging to the user and to the company they work for.
  • HR databases uploaded for DEI statistics are a particular case: anonymisation is announced as automatic, but the mechanism is not documented anywhere on the site.
  • Automatic pre-filling of questionnaires invites rubber-stamping. An answer generated from past responses can be validated without being re-read, and it carries your signature, not the tool's.
  • GHG figures obtained from proxy estimates and benchmarks can be read as measured figures if the report does not restate them as estimates.
  • Relying on a single vendor for regulatory compliance, on an annual subscription with a quote that is never made public, concentrates a real dependency.
  • Reversibility rests on a raw export that is announced but not contractually guaranteed: no terms and conditions are published, and no data processing agreement is mentioned even though Apiday acts as a processor for the service.
  • Nothing is published on whether customer data is used to train models, no opt-out is offered, and the ISO 27001 certification claimed in the footer carries no link to a verifiable certificate.
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Technically easy. Apiday is a web application with nothing to install, no named integration and no documented API, so there is no client-side integration work, and the FAQ states you need not be an ESG expert to begin. The real effort is functional: modelling your structure in the ecosystem manager and building campaigns around your fund architecture and target frameworks, with scoping sessions and experts to help. Announced lead times run from three to four weeks for PAI reporting to two or three months for a full CSRD cycle. The bottleneck is data availability at portfolio companies.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is Apiday?
Apiday is an ESG data management and GHG assessment platform for private markets. It combines a universal ESG data model of more than 3,000 data points, automation tools and a team of in-house human ESG experts, across ten products ranging from collection campaigns to SFDR disclosures and EU Taxonomy screening.
Who is it for?
According to the FAQ, Apiday is used by SMEs, private investment firms (venture capital, private equity, family offices) and large enterprises across all industries. Sustainability teams, investor relations, legal and compliance, and finance and operations teams all use it, and the publisher states that you do not need to be an ESG expert to begin.
Which regulations and frameworks does it cover?
NFRD, CSRD and ESRS, SFDR and the EU Taxonomy, plus B Corp, EcoVadis, SASB/ISSB and CDP through a partner network. The universal data model is built by mapping these frameworks and the main investor questionnaires onto a single structure.
How much does Apiday cost?
No price is published on the website. The FAQ describes an annual subscription platform fee, several additional plan options and one-time advisory billed per engagement, with the offering customised to each client's needs and a tailored quote issued on request. A pilot is possible on request.
Is there a free trial?
Not in the self-serve sense. The FAQ states that sign-up is free and product pages carry a “Test it for free” button, but those calls to action lead to the contact form and a 15-minute demonstration rather than to an unattended trial of the paid platform.
How are LP questionnaires and DDQs handled?
You upload the questionnaire as an Excel, Word or PDF file. Apiday reads its structure automatically, with no manual mapping, then pre-fills the answers from your past responses, from document analysis and from data already collected. You review the result and get the file back in its original formatting.
Where is the data hosted?
The privacy policy names Google Cloud Platform as the provider for app.apiday.com, with servers located in Belgium, and states that the platform is hosted on servers in Europe. Webflow is named as the provider for the marketing website, although the legal notice names Infomaniak in Geneva for that role. Operating and support activities are stated to be conducted in France by Apiday staff.
Is there a mobile app or a public API?
Neither. Access is through the web application at app.apiday.com only. No iOS or Android application is published, and no public API documentation exists on the site, despite the brand name.
How long does implementation take?
The announced lead times are four to eight weeks to set up a first fund, three to four weeks for PAI reporting, two to three months for a full CSRD cycle, and anything from a few hours to two or three weeks for a carbon footprint.
How does a CSRD audit work with Apiday?
Auditors are invited to the platform with view-only permission. Each data point is linked back to its source, which the publisher describes as auditable by design, and a CSRD methodology note is provided to support the audit.
Conclusion

Should you pick Apiday?

Apiday is a deliberately vertical tool: ESG for private markets, not a general-purpose assistant. Its strength is the full chain, from collection and validation through calculation, disclosure and reporting, anchored in named frameworks (SFDR, CSRD and ESRS, NFRD, the EU Taxonomy, B Corp, EcoVadis, SASB/ISSB, CDP) and backed by an auditability claim: every data point linked to its source, read-only auditor access and a CSRD methodology note. The human layer is unusual for a software product, since in-house ESG experts, presented as former Big Four non-financial reporting auditors, are part of the offer rather than an add-on. The publisher is a French company funded by two rounds in 2022 and 2024, with platform data hosted in Europe and operations run from France.

Three reservations deserve attention. First, there is no pricing transparency whatsoever: no pricing page, no amount anywhere on the site, an annual platform fee quoted case by case and a sales demonstration as the only entry point, since the free-trial wording leads to that same form. Second, the legal documentation is thin: no terms and conditions are published even though the contact form refers to them, and the privacy policy dates from December 2023, contradicts the legal notice on share capital and registration number, and points to a retention table that does not exist. Third, the integration and automation promises are not publicly documented, with no connector named and no public API.

For a fund or a portfolio company facing SFDR, CSRD or a backlog of LP questionnaires, the functional fit is clear and the client references are named. The opacity is commercial and contractual: expect a demo, a bespoke quote, and questions worth putting in writing beforehand.
