ApplyCH is a Chrome extension, built on Manifest V3 and published on the Chrome Web Store, aimed at one audience: people looking for work in Switzerland, above all those going through the RAV/ORP/URC unemployment-office process. The listing shows version 2.8.4 dated 12 August 2026, 6.6 MB, 172 users and a 4.0 rating from four reviews.
The product rests on three building blocks. The first is capture: a floating button appears on any job page, and an extraction AI pulls out the title, company, postal address, requirements and contact so the ad lands in your list. That reach is documented: the manifest published in the store listing declares 55 hosts where the extension injects itself, from the Swiss federal portals and job boards (jobs.ch, jobup.ch, JobScout24) to the international ones (LinkedIn, Indeed, StepStone, XING), the major applicant-tracking systems (Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors) and Swiss staffing agencies (Adecco, Randstad, Michael Page). The third is administrative, and it is what makes the tool specifically Swiss: filling the federal Stellennachweis form on job-room.ch. Under the hood the AI is Google Gemini, called server-side through Firebase Cloud Functions. The interface is available in eight languages (German, French, Italian, English, Portuguese, Spanish, Albanian and Serbian) while documents are generated in four of them. Around that core sit application tracking, dark mode, PDF CV import with AI extraction, and a template editor with live PDF preview and nine premium designs, reserved for Pro.
Three free web tools live alongside the extension and need no account: an unemployment benefit calculator, a generator for the official SECO 716.007 job-search proof form, and a directory of the 63 RAV offices. A 30-second interactive demo on the home page shows it at work without install or sign-up.
The publisher is a small team in Zurich and hosts everything there, on Google Cloud europe-west6, stating plainly that ApplyCH is an independent product, not affiliated with RAV/ORP/URC or any Swiss government agency.

GDPR overview
ApplyCH places itself under two regimes at once: the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP/nDSG) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation "where applicable". The privacy page presents itself as GDPR-aligned, with no third-party trackers and no data sold. The rights listed are access, update and correction through the profile settings, deletion, and objection to or restriction of processing; they are exercised by email to support, with up to 48 hours announced for requests that need verification. The terms also record your consent to data being transferred and processed outside your own country. The gaps are concrete: no EU representative is designated under Article 27, no data protection officer is named, and no data processing agreement is offered or even mentioned anywhere. The minimum age is inconsistent, 18 in the terms and 16 in the privacy policy.
Who owns the data?
Profile data, uploaded CVs, saved job ads and generated letters all come from you and stay attached to your own account: AI output is written to your Firestore records, and a CV photo goes to Firebase Cloud Storage where, the publisher states, it is only accessible to you. The privacy policy says that personal data such as CV content and generated cover letters is used solely to provide the service, and that personal information is not sold to third parties. You can ask support to delete your account and the data attached to it. ApplyCH keeps the intellectual property of the service itself and grants you a non-exclusive, revocable licence to use it.
Reuse rights
The privacy policy lists nine purposes: providing the service, managing your account, powering the AI features, personalising the experience, processing payment through Stripe, communicating with you, measuring usage, preventing fraud and meeting legal obligations. Job descriptions and CV profile data are sent to Google Gemini over HTTPS only when you actively use an AI feature, and are not stored by Google beyond the processing request. An anonymous account is created automatically at install, so no personal data is attached until you deliberately sign in. Technical data such as IP address, browser type and extension version is collected for operation and security. The optional email reminder stores only your address and language, the form content staying in your browser. Site statistics are anonymous and cookieless, keyed to a random value that rotates daily, with DNT and GPC signals honoured and, the publisher states, no cookie banners at all. On your side, what the terms grant is a non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the service, the publisher keeping the intellectual property of the service itself; the documents you generate are stored in your own account, but the terms do not address whether or how you may reuse them.

Hosting summary
The backend runs on Google Cloud Platform and Firebase in the europe-west6 region, in Zurich, Switzerland. The privacy policy states that data is processed and stored on Google Cloud Platform in that region, and the home page claims that CVs and applications never leave Switzerland. Traffic between the extension and the backend is encrypted. CV photos sit in Firebase Cloud Storage and are accessible to the account owner only, while cookieless site statistics are kept in Firestore in Zurich for at most 13 months. Four subprocessors are named with purpose, data and location: Google Cloud Platform and Firebase for hosting, Firestore, authentication and serverless functions in europe-west6; the Google Gemini API for AI generation, called only on active use, with a vague "Google data centers" as its location; Stripe for payment and subscription, in the EU or the US under its own terms; and Zoho Mail for support correspondence, likewise EU or US. - No full legal name, postal address or Swiss identification number is published on the site itself; the address Wilstrasse 16, 8600 Dubendorf appears only in the Chrome Web Store listing
- Swiss law applies but the agreed place of jurisdiction is Lausanne, while the product presents itself as built in Zurich and the publisher is based in Dubendorf, in the canton of Zurich
- The minimum age is contradictory, 18 in the terms and 16 in the privacy policy, and the store description mentions data stored in the EU region although Switzerland is not in the EU while the site itself correctly says Switzerland
