Overview

What is Scenario?

Scenario is a creative AI platform built and operated by Scenario Inc., a Delaware corporation whose principal place of business is 440 N Barranca Ave #9893, Covina, CA 91723, USA. Its about page names two co-founders, Emmanuel de Maistre (CEO) and Herve Nivon (CTO, formerly a Solutions Architect at AWS), and sums the pitch up as Creative AI Built on Your DNA: build on the customer's own artwork rather than on a generic model.

Three pillars structure the product. First, custom model training. You upload reference images, and the guidance is not consistent across the site: the homepage says 5 to 100, while the pricing FAQ says 10 to 30 for a style and 5 to 15 for a character or object. Scenario then trains a LoRA in thirty minutes to a few hours, which Multi-LoRA can blend with other models. Second, an aggregated model library spanning image, video, 3D with PBR textures, audio, 360 HDRI skyboxes and textures, drawing on providers including Google, OpenAI, Black Forest Labs, ByteDance, ElevenLabs, Runway, Kling, Meshy, Tripo AI, Topaz and Magnific. Its advertised size also shifts from page to page: 500+ models and 50+ providers on the homepage and features page, 600+ in a second homepage block, 200+ on the platform page, and 65+ base models plus 30+ advanced ones on pricing. Third, automation: a node-based workflow editor, a Node Agent that builds a graph from a sentence, Genie (an assistant on every page that writes the prompt, picks the model and fires the generation), batch generation and one-click apps.

Developers get a documented REST API, TypeScript SDK helpers, webhooks and an MCP server for agents. Outputs export as PNG, JPEG, WebP and SVG, MP4, MOV, WebM and GIF, WAV and MP3, GLB, OBJ, FBX, STL and VOX. Governance is a stated priority: SOC 2 Type II, SSO/SAML, an audit trail, logical workspace isolation and a public trust portal listing 23 sub-processors and 70 controls.

The company claims 15,000+ customers and 99.9% uptime, and names Ubisoft, Scopely, Epic Games, Supercell, Tripledot and Superside among its users. Ten industry pages carry the story from gaming into marketing, e-commerce, education, fashion, architecture and film. The service is live, though some features may be labelled beta or preview.

What it does

  • Train a custom model on your own visual library, from a handful of reference images
  • Generate images, video, 3D meshes with PBR textures, music, sound effects and speech from a single workspace
  • Edit generations: inpainting, outpainting, upscaling up to 16x, background removal, restyle, vectorisation, pixelisation
  • Assemble multi-step pipelines in a visual node editor, without writing code
  • Turn a workflow into a one-click app your team can run or your code can trigger by API
  • Batch-generate hundreds of variants with consistent settings
  • Plug generation into an existing pipeline through the REST API, SDK, webhooks or MCP server

When to use Scenario / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if Scenario is the right fit.

When to use Scenario

  • Game studios that need thousands of assets to stay on-model with a fixed art direction: Ubisoft is cited as generating 10,000+ characters for Captain Laserhawk on the platform.
  • Creative teams who would rather train a model on their own visual library than wrestle a generic model into their style.
  • Engineering teams wiring generation into an existing pipeline through the REST API, TypeScript SDK helpers, webhooks or the MCP server.
  • High-volume marketing and user-acquisition teams shipping creative at pace: the case studies quote Million Victories at under two hours per creative and Fastory at 100x faster.
  • Organisations with procurement and compliance requirements: SOC 2 Type II, SSO/SAML with Okta or Azure AD, audit trail and Data Privacy Framework certification.

When not to use Scenario

  • Anyone who needs a desktop application or a local install: the terms state that Scenario provides no desktop or locally installed software, so it is browser or API only.
  • Mobile-first users, since no iOS or Android application is listed anywhere on the site.
  • Teams that need a documented no-training option on a self-serve plan: that contractual guarantee only comes with a signed Enterprise MSA and DPA.
  • Free-plan users hoping to sell what they generate, as free outputs are for personal and evaluation use only, with no commercial licence.
  • Anyone under 16 (16 to 18 requires parental consent), and any use case involving sexually explicit content, non-consensual deepfakes of real people, distilling the models or reselling access, all barred by the acceptable use policy.
Get started

How to use Scenario

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Create an account on app.scenario.com with an email and password or through Google or GitHub; authentication runs on Clerk.
  2. Start on the free tier immediately: 50 credits a day, no credit card required.
  3. Pick a model from the library, write a prompt and adjust the settings; each model's credit cost is displayed before you launch.
  4. Or skip the learning curve entirely and describe the goal to Genie, which writes the prompt, picks the model, fills the settings and runs the generation.
  5. To train your own model, upload 10 to 30 images for a style or 5 to 15 for a character or object, ideally at 1024x1024.
  6. Wait thirty minutes to a few hours, then test the model against reference images and iterate; blend several LoRAs through Multi-LoRA if needed.
  7. Industrialise by assembling a pipeline in the node editor, or by describing the workflow to the Node Agent.
  8. Publish the workflow as a one-click app and share it with the team, or trigger it by API.
  9. To integrate, generate an API key from your account, authenticate your requests and follow the quickstart on docs.scenario.com; TypeScript SDK helpers are available and rate limits vary by plan.
  10. Connect an agent to the workspace through the MCP server, and reach support through the Pylon form on the get-support page, the help centre, Discord on Starter, tickets from Pro upwards, or a dedicated Slack channel on Enterprise.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Output ownership is explicit and royalty-free: generated assets are assigned to you, with a full commercial licence on every paid plan.
  • You own your custom models, including the weights specific to your own tuning.
  • Multimodal coverage that is rare inside a single subscription, with image, video, 3D and audio side by side, and third-party models added the week they ship according to the homepage.
  • Documented compliance posture: SOC 2 Type II, EU-U.S., UK and Swiss Data Privacy Framework certification, standard contractual clauses, an Article 27 representative and a public trust portal listing 23 sub-processors and 70 controls.
  • A contractual no-training commitment is available for Enterprise, alongside the option to restrict a workspace to Enterprise-Ready models.
  • A permanent free tier of 50 credits a day, with no credit card, makes evaluation genuinely cheap.
  • API-first with public documentation, SDK helpers, webhooks and MCP, retention periods published item by item rather than in vague terms, and fourteen named case studies to check the claims against.

Cons

  • On self-serve there is no opt-out: your content can be used to improve Scenario's own AI models, and the written no-training guarantee exists only under a signed Enterprise MSA and DPA.
  • The No Data Reuse line in the footer and on the enterprise page does not match what the self-serve terms actually permit.
  • Credits do not roll over from one period to the next, additional credit purchases are non-refundable, and fees are described as generally non-refundable.
  • Free-plan outputs carry no commercial licence at all: personal and evaluation use only.
  • Everything is processed and stored in the United States, with no announced European data residency option, and there is no mobile application and no desktop software.
  • No email support channel: a Pylon form, Discord on Starter, tickets from Pro. Catalogue figures also contradict each other from page to page, at 200+, 500+ or 600+ models.
  • No uniqueness or copyright protection is guaranteed on outputs, and individual arbitration in Delaware with a class-action waiver applies by default, with an opt-out available within 30 days in writing to legal@scenario.com.
Pricing

Pricing & Plans

Scenario operates on a freemium model. A permanent free tier provides 50 credits per day with no credit card required, though its outputs are restricted to personal and evaluation use. The cheapest paid entry point is the Starter plan at USD 15.00 per month billed monthly, or USD 10.00 per month on annual commitment, the annual term being advertised at a 33% discount. Pro costs USD 45 per month (USD 30 annually) and Max USD 75 per month (USD 50 annually); Enterprise is quoted on request, billed annually, with a ten-seat minimum. Billing runs on Compute Units consumed according to the model, the resolution and the settings chosen, with each model's cost displayed before a job is launched. Credits do not carry over between periods and additional credit purchases are non-refundable; once a plan's credits are exhausted, a reduced-throughput cooldown applies, presented as a revocable courtesy rather than an entitlement. All amounts are stated in US dollars, taxes are additional, price increases carry 30 days' notice, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period without refund of prepaid amounts.

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how Scenario handles your data.

GDPR overview

GDPR is addressed explicitly, in a dedicated section 7 of the privacy policy effective 16/07/2026. Scenario Inc. acts as controller for data it collects directly and as processor for Enterprise customers under a DPA. Legal bases are mapped purpose by purpose to Articles 6(1)(a), (b), (c) and (f). Rights under Articles 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21 and 7(3) are listed, with a one-month response window extendable by two months under Article 12(3) and a right to complain to a supervisory authority. Transfers rely on EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework certification plus the UK Extension and the Swiss-U.S. DPF, backed by 2021/914 standard contractual clauses and the ICO addendum; redress runs through the EU data protection authority panel, the ICO, the Swiss FDPIC and binding arbitration. An Article 27 representative is appointed in Ireland. No DPO is appointed: Scenario states it meets none of the Article 37 criteria. Contact: privacy@scenario.com.

Who owns the data?

You keep all right, title and interest in the content you upload; Scenario claims no ownership and takes only a limited, non-exclusive worldwide licence to host, store, process and display it, ending when you delete the content or the account, subject to backup cycles. Generated assets are assigned to you outright, commercial use included, with no royalty beyond the subscription. Custom models are yours too: your training data and the weights specific to your tuning, while Scenario retains the base architecture and infrastructure and bars reverse-engineering the weights. Two caveats: no uniqueness or copyright is guaranteed on outputs, and any feedback you send is licensed perpetually and irrevocably.

Reuse rights

You can reuse your generated assets freely and commercially on any paid plan, with no permission to ask, no royalty and no attribution, provided the acceptable use policy is respected; free-plan outputs are restricted to personal and evaluation use. The reverse direction is where the plans part ways. On self-serve, the terms let Scenario use your content and aggregated, de-identified usage data to operate, secure and improve the services and its own AI models, and no opt-out setting exists. Data is never sold, never shared with other customers, and private generations are never made public. Enterprise customers under a signed MSA and DPA get the opposite commitment in writing: no content, prompt, generated asset or custom model used to train, fine-tune, evaluate, benchmark or improve any Scenario or third-party model without prior written consent, with workspaces restrictable to Enterprise-Ready models whose providers undertake not to retain or train on inputs. One gap is worth naming: the footer of every page and the enterprise page advertise No Data Reuse, which the self-serve terms do not support. With third-party models, input handling also depends on each provider.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Under the privacy policy in force since 16/07/2026, account data is kept for the life of the account plus 90 days to allow reactivation, then deleted unless the law requires otherwise. Usage data stays identifiable for up to 24 months before being aggregated or deleted, while aggregated or pseudonymised data may be kept indefinitely. Generated content, prompts and related material remain in the account for as long as it is active and are deleted within 60 days of termination, save for legal obligations or a contrary Enterprise agreement. Transaction records follow tax and accounting rules, typically seven years; card numbers are handled by Stripe and never stored by Scenario. Support exchanges are kept up to 24 months after a ticket closes, then deleted or anonymised. Consent and PostHog analytics cookies last 12 months. Enterprise-Ready models carry contractual minimal retention at the third-party providers.

Hosting summary

Scenario states in its privacy policy that it is based in the United States and processes personal data on servers located there, hosted on AWS in US regions; its compute and inference sub-processors are US-based as well. The terms add that content and generated assets are stored on infrastructure located in the United States unless a plan or MSA provides otherwise. Protection is described concretely: TLS 1.2 or above in transit, AES-256 at rest, role-based access control, mandatory MFA for privileged production access, and logical isolation of each customer workspace. The underlying AWS facilities are certified ISO 27001, SOC 1, SOC 2 Type II and SOC 3. Content delivery runs through a global edge CDN, which is a distribution mechanism and should not be read as data residency. What is absent matters as much: no European data residency option is announced anywhere on the site. Transfers out of the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland rest on Data Privacy Framework certification and standard contractual clauses rather than on local storage, so buyers with a strict residency requirement should raise it before signing.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Scenario.

  • Self-serve accounts have no way to exclude their content from model improvement, and the written guarantee requires a signed Enterprise MSA and DPA. The distance between that and the No data reuse line in the footer is worth reading twice before uploading anything sensitive.
  • Free-plan outputs cannot be exploited commercially, which is easy to forget after weeks of generating and expensive to discover at shipping time.
  • Credits are lost at the end of each period with no roll-over, and top-up purchases are non-refundable, so over-buying is a genuine risk on a variable workload.
  • Nothing guarantees that an output is unique or protectable by copyright, and the legal status of AI-generated work varies by jurisdiction. A brand asset built entirely from generations may be harder to defend than it looks.
  • Convenience has a cognitive cost. Genie writes the prompt, picks the model and launches the job, which is a fast route to a team that no longer knows why an output works; batch generation of hundreds of variants likewise makes it tempting to substitute volume for art direction.
  • All data is processed and stored in the United States, and generations routed to third-party models follow each provider's own retention practices unless the workspace is restricted to Enterprise-Ready models.
  • Two softer signals worth noting: the published postal address is a mailbox-style suite (#9893 in Covina, CA), distinct from the Delaware registered office held by agent VCORP Services, and the model-catalogue figures disagree across pages at 200+, 500+ and 600+. Neither is disqualifying, but both argue for verifying claims rather than trusting headlines.
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low for everyday use, moderate for integration. Nothing is installed: Scenario runs in the browser, and a first generation needs only an account, a model and a prompt. Genie can even write the prompt, pick the model and fill the settings from a plain description. Training a custom model stays within reach of a non-developer: upload 10 to 30 images and wait. The node editor is drag-and-drop, and the Node Agent builds the graph from a sentence. Real engineering starts with the API, its keys, authentication, rate limits and webhooks, and with Enterprise SSO/SAML on Okta or Azure AD.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do credits work?
Every generation and every training run consumes Compute Units, priced according to the model, the resolution and the settings you choose. Each model's cost is displayed before you launch the job, and credits do not carry over from one billing period to the next.
Is there a free plan, and does it need a credit card?
Yes, 50 credits a day, permanently, with no credit card required. The catch is licensing rather than volume: free-plan outputs are for personal and evaluation use only.
Can I use the generated assets commercially?
Yes, on every paid plan. Scenario assigns you the rights to your generated assets with a full commercial licence and no royalty beyond the subscription. It does not, however, guarantee that any output is unique or protectable by copyright, and that status varies between jurisdictions.
Is my data used to train the models?
On self-serve plans, yes. The terms allow Scenario to use your content and aggregated, de-identified usage data to operate, secure and improve the services and its AI models, and no opt-out setting is documented. Enterprise customers under a signed MSA and DPA obtain a written commitment that none of it will be used for training without prior consent.
Do I have to train a model to get value out of it?
No. The model library works as it is. Training is what you reach for when you need consistent style across a large volume of assets.
How many images does training take, and how long?
The pricing FAQ gives 10 to 30 images for a style and 5 to 15 for a character or object, ideally at 1024x1024, with training running from thirty minutes to a few hours. Note that the homepage quotes a wider range of 5 to 100 images.
Can I connect Scenario to a game engine or an existing pipeline?
Yes. There is a documented REST API, TypeScript SDK helpers, webhooks and an MCP server, and the 3D formats on offer import into Unity and Unreal.
Where is my data hosted?
In the United States, on AWS in US regions. Transfers from the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland rely on Data Privacy Framework certification and standard contractual clauses. No European data residency option is announced.
How do I obtain a DPA, and what is the minimum age?
A standard Scenario DPA is available on request from privacy@scenario.com for self-service customers, while Enterprise customers negotiate theirs inside the MSA. The minimum age is 16, and users between 16 and 18 need parental consent.
How do I cancel?
At any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, with no refund of prepaid amounts.
Conclusion

Should you pick Scenario?

Scenario is a production platform rather than a novelty generator. Its distinctive move is to put a model trained on your own artwork next to a large catalogue of third-party models, then wrap both in workflows, one-click apps and an API, which is precisely what a team producing assets at volume against a fixed art direction needs. Ownership is unusually clean for this market: generated assets are assigned to you with a full commercial licence on paid plans, and your custom models and their weights are yours.

Three reservations deserve weight before signing. The first is data: the written no-training guarantee is an Enterprise privilege obtained under a signed MSA and DPA, not a switch you can flip on a self-serve plan, while the footer of every page advertises No Data Reuse. Read the terms, not the banner. The second is location: everything is processed and stored in the United States on AWS, with Data Privacy Framework certification and standard contractual clauses covering transfers, but no European data residency on offer. The third is billing: credits expire at the end of each period, top-ups are non-refundable, and free-plan outputs carry no commercial licence at all.

Smaller frictions add up. There is no mobile or desktop application, no email support line, catalogue figures disagree from page to page, and arbitration in Delaware with a class-action waiver applies unless you opt out within thirty days.

Worth a look for game studios chasing style consistency across thousands of assets, for marketing teams shipping creative at volume, and for engineering teams automating a pipeline. Less so for anyone who needs contractual training exclusion without an Enterprise contract, or European data residency. The permanent free tier makes the evaluation cheap; read the terms before any output goes into a shipped product.
