Overview

What is Tshirt Design AI?

Tshirt Design AI is a web generator built around a single job: turning a sentence into artwork you can actually hand to a printer. Its own baseline is blunt — Type it. Wear it. — and the product carries a v1.0 badge reading Text to T-shirt AI + Print-ready Export.

The chain is short and closed. You describe the design in plain English, optionally type a slogan in a separate 60-character field so the printed text comes out exactly as written rather than as garbled AI lettering, pick one of nine art styles (Vintage Retro, Bold Typography, Cartoon Mascot, Line Art, Grunge Streetwear, Kawaii Chibi, Y2K, Emblem / Badge, Watercolor) and set shape and creativity. You can also work image-to-image, uploading up to four references (PNG, JPEG or WebP, 25 MB each) to restyle a sketch, a moodboard or an old print while keeping the idea. Generation takes roughly 60 to 90 seconds. The result lands on a live preview of the garment, where six cuts (crew neck, v-neck, tank top, long sleeve, 3/4 raglan, women's fitted) and twelve colors switch instantly in the browser. The export is the real point: a watermark-free transparent PNG, 300 DPI, 4500x5400, with safe margins for DTG and screen printing.

Behind the interface, prompts pass a local blocklist and Meta Llama Guard 3 before any credit is charged; images come from gpt-image-2, served primarily through KIE.ai with Replicate as fallback and OpenAI upstream; backgrounds are removed by a semantic segmentation model (BiRefNet) and detail is raised by Real-ESRGAN. A separate Studio page runs batches: one theme, a list of slogans, a set of styles, up to 20 designs per run generated in parallel, locked to 1K 1:1, with failures refunded automatically.

Everything is metered in credits, one per design and one per print-ready export. Access requires a Google sign-in, with no password stored, and the site names three audiences: designers, creators and brands, print shops and print-on-demand sellers. The operator is explicit about its own limits — it is a technical generation service and does not review, clear or license the artwork it produces.

What it does

  • Generate a complete t-shirt graphic from a single plain-English sentence
  • Print a slogan exactly as typed, from its own 60-character field, with no garbled AI text
  • Export a transparent PNG at 300 DPI in 4500x5400, sized for DTG and screen printing
  • Preview the artwork live on 6 garment cuts and 12 fabric colors
  • Restyle up to 4 reference images (PNG, JPEG or WebP, 25 MB each) while keeping the idea
  • Run a batch from one theme and a list of slogans: up to 20 designs per run, 50 on Team
  • Choose among 9 art styles and tune shape (Square, Portrait, Auto) and creativity (Exact, Balanced, Creative)

When to use Tshirt Design AI / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if Tshirt Design AI is the right fit.

When to use Tshirt Design AI

  • Independent graphic designers who need to concept ten directions before lunch and finish them in their own software
  • Creators and small brands launching merch drops without a design budget, using the tee preview as the product-page visual
  • Print shops and print-on-demand sellers filling a catalog page a day rather than a week, thanks to batch runs and correct DPI
  • Bands, tour managers and event organizers producing band merch or event tees at short notice
  • Founders and e-commerce managers with no design software, no mockup templates and no design vocabulary

When not to use Tshirt Design AI

  • Developers looking for a generation API: none is published, and the FAQ only says one is planned for the Team plan
  • Anyone expecting a mobile app or a browser extension: there is no iOS or Android application, no store badge and no plugin
  • Sellers who want a one-click push to Shopify, Etsy or Printful: there is no store or print-on-demand connector, the workflow stops at the downloaded file
  • Designers who expect to retouch inside the tool: for deeper edits you download the transparent PNG and open it in your own tools
  • Non-English-speaking users, and anyone needing artwork for mugs, posters or any surface other than a t-shirt
Get started

How to use Tshirt Design AI

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Open the home page: the generator sits directly on it, with nothing to install
  2. Describe your design in plain English (subject, style, mood), or start from one of the shown examples and edit it; the draft is auto-saved
  3. Optionally type the slogan to be printed in its own field, up to 60 characters
  4. Optionally pick one of the 9 style presets
  5. Optionally upload one to four reference images to work image-to-image
  6. Set the shape (Square, Portrait or Auto) and the creativity level (Exact, Balanced or Creative)
  7. Sign in with Google, which grants 2 credits, then press 'Generate - 1 credit' and wait about 60 to 90 seconds
  8. Study the result on the live tee preview, switching cut and color, and regenerate with a refined prompt if needed
  9. Press 'Download print-ready - 1 credit' to get the transparent 300 DPI PNG
  10. For volume, open Studio: set a theme, paste a list of slogans, choose styles and launch up to 20 designs; subscriptions are paid through Stripe and cancelled from the customer portal reachable via the dashboard

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • The output is production-grade straight away: watermark-free transparent PNG, 300 DPI, 4500x5400, with safe margins
  • Cut-out and upscaling are automated inside the export (BiRefNet segmentation, Real-ESRGAN upscaling)
  • The slogan field is separate and printed character for character, answering a well-known weakness of AI-generated text
  • Immediate garment preview on 6 cuts and 12 colors, usable as a product-page visual
  • Studio batches of up to 20 designs, 50 on Team, with failed generations refunded automatically
  • A genuine trial without a card: 2 credits on Google sign-up, enough for one design and its print file, and top-up credits never expire
  • Unusually detailed legal documentation for a young product: 8 named sub-processors with their countries, a numeric retention table, GDPR legal bases and an explicit no-training commitment

Cons

  • No identifiable legal entity: an unnamed 'independent sole proprietorship', no postal address, no legal-notice page and no traceable beneficial owner
  • No API (the FAQ only calls it 'planned for the Team plan'), no mobile app, no extension and no store or print-on-demand integration
  • No editing inside the tool: any retouch means downloading the PNG and opening another program
  • The print-ready export costs an extra credit on top of the generation, and plan credits are overwritten at each cycle and lost on cancellation
  • Very little track record, and a single contact channel: domain registered on 11/07/2026, product badged v1.0, and hello@tshirtdesignai.com with no form, help center or phone
  • English-only site and prompts, mandatory Google sign-in with no email alternative, and commercial use reserved for paid plans
  • No customer DPA, no Article 27 EU/UK representative, no published SOC 2 or ISO 27001, and mandatory individual AAA arbitration in Delaware with a class-action waiver unless you opt out within 30 days

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how Tshirt Design AI handles your data.

GDPR overview

GDPR is implemented concretely rather than merely claimed. The privacy policy, effective and last updated 16 July 2026, names the operator as controller and sets out an Article 6 table: contract 6(1)(b) for the service and payments, legitimate interest 6(1)(f) for anti-fraud and aggregated analytics, legal obligation 6(1)(c) for tax, consent 6(1)(a) for marketing. Rights are listed article by article (15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22) with a complaint route to the supervisory authority, a 30-day response window extendable by 60 days, breach notification within 72 hours, and Standard Contractual Clauses with encryption in transit and at rest for transfers. UK GDPR, Switzerland, CCPA/CPRA and seven US state laws are covered too. Missing: no Article 27 EU/UK representative is appointed, and no DPO is named.

Who owns the data?

You keep every right you already hold in your Inputs; the operator takes only a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, transmit and process them to run the service, prevent abuse and comply with the law, and that license lapses when you delete the input or the account, subject to legal retention and backups. Rights in the Outputs are assigned to you on creation, to the extent the operator holds any, provided you respect the Terms and the AI providers' conditions, notably OpenAI's for gpt-image-2. The operator keeps its brand, code, prompt templates and style presets, may reuse aggregated anonymized data, and shares personal data only with its named sub-processors, authorities on valid legal process, an acquirer, or with your explicit consent. It is never sold.

Reuse rights

On paid plans you may reuse the Outputs without asking permission: personal, professional and commercial use is granted, including selling them in your own store, on print-on-demand platforms and in client work. Reselling or sub-licensing the Credits themselves, or API-scale access, requires written agreement. The counterpart is that legality is entirely yours: trademarks, copyright, trade dress, personality rights and marketplace policies are your responsibility, the service does not review, clear or license Outputs, and it warrants neither non-infringement nor fitness for sale. Uniqueness is not guaranteed either, since neighbouring prompts can produce neighbouring designs. The Free plan allows a watermark-free preview download, but commercial use is listed as a paid-plan benefit.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
The privacy policy publishes a retention table. Account data (profile, plan, credit balance) is kept until you delete the account. Generated images and their prompts are kept for 365 days from creation, then permanently deleted, and uploaded reference images follow the same 365-day rule from upload. Server and security logs, IP addresses included, are kept 30 days; anti-abuse signals such as visitor hashes and sign-up attempts, 12 months; Stripe billing records, 7 years for tax and accounting; support correspondence, 24 months after the last reply; backups roll on a 30-day window. After each period, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymized. Deleting the account immediately removes the profile and credit data, but generations and logs already past their window cannot be recovered. Rejected prompts are kept in clear text in a moderation audit log; accepted prompts are stored only as a cryptographic hash.

Hosting summary

Infrastructure and most sub-processors sit in the United States. Eight sub-processors are named with their locations: Google LLC (US, OAuth), Stripe Inc. (US, payment and tax), KIE.ai (US, primary generation), Replicate Inc. (US, fallback generation, upscaling, cut-out, moderation), OpenAI L.L.C. (US, upstream provider of gpt-image-2), Neon Inc. (US, managed PostgreSQL), Vercel Inc. (US plus global edge, hosting, CDN and cookieless analytics) and Cloudflare Inc. (US, email routing and R2 object storage). Each has signed a DPA or equivalent contractual safeguards, and any addition or replacement is announced at least 14 days in advance. Transfers from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland rely on the Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, Module 2 or 3, with supplementary measures including encryption in transit and at rest; copies are available on request. Declared security includes HTTPS/TLS 1.2+ with HSTS, database encryption at rest managed by Neon, OAuth-only authentication with no stored password, salted fingerprint hashes and PCI DSS Level 1 card handling by Stripe. No SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification is published. A network check on 30/08/2026 resolved the domain to 216.150.16.1, a US anycast node on AS16509 (Amazon).

Watch-outs

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Tshirt Design AI.

  • No infringement check at any stage: the service states it does not review, clear or license Outputs, uniqueness is not guaranteed, and an output may resemble a protected work present in the training data - the legal exposure is entirely yours
  • You indemnify the operator against any claim linked to your inputs and outputs, while its own liability is capped at the greater of 12 months of fees or USD 100, and disputes go to individual AAA arbitration seated in Delaware with a class-action waiver unless you opt out by email within 30 days
  • The preview is an approximation: the physical result depends on the printer, the method (DTG, screen printing, sublimation) and the fabric, automatic cut-out can leave or strip edge pixels on a complex design, and text fidelity is not guaranteed, so proofread slogans, names and dates before printing
  • Marketplace acceptance is not guaranteed: a print-on-demand platform can refuse or remove a design after the fact
  • Your prompts and reference images are sent to US third parties (KIE.ai, Replicate, OpenAI), a browser fingerprint is computed on the first visit and stored as a salted hash to decide the welcome credit, and prompts rejected by moderation are kept in clear text in an audit log
  • Credit economics can bite: plan credits are overwritten at each cycle and lost on cancellation, and starting a chargeback without contacting support first can suspend the account, void the credits and lead to a ban
  • Creative flattening: nine style presets and a single engine give every user the same visual vocabulary, leaning on the tool for concepting can quietly erode the habit of building your own directions, and the operator depends on AI providers it does not develop or control
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Very low. The tool is entirely web-based and the generator sits on the home page itself: no design software, no mockup templates, and no learning curve. There is nothing to install, no server to configure, no API key and no code. The only prerequisite is a Google account for OAuth sign-in, which grants 2 credits; no card is asked for the trial, and the prompt draft survives the sign-in. No design vocabulary is needed, though prompts must be written in English. Subscriptions run through Stripe and are managed or cancelled from the customer portal reachable via the dashboard.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What exactly does Tshirt Design AI do?
It generates t-shirt artwork from a plain-English prompt or a reference image, shows it on a live preview across 6 garment cuts and 12 colors, and exports a transparent PNG at 300 DPI in 4500x5400. A Google sign-in is required, and signing up grants 2 credits.
Are the exported files really ready to print?
Yes. The export is a transparent PNG of 4500x5400 pixels at 300 DPI, sized for DTG and screen printing with safe margins, its background removed by a semantic segmentation model.
Can I edit a design inside the tool?
Only up to a point. You can change the garment cut and color on the preview and regenerate with a refined prompt. For deeper edits, you download the transparent PNG and open it in your own tools.
Who owns the designs, and can I sell them?
On paid plans the designs come with full personal and commercial use rights, including selling them in your own store, on print-on-demand platforms and in client work. The Terms place responsibility for non-infringement entirely on you: the service does not review, clear or license Outputs.
Are my prompts and designs used to train models?
No. Prompts, reference images and designs are private by default and, according to both the site FAQ and the Terms, are never used for training or shared with third parties.
Can I generate designs in batches?
Yes, through Studio: one theme, a list of slogans and a set of styles produce up to 20 designs per run in parallel, 50 on the Team plan, at 1 credit each, with failed generations refunded. An API is announced as planned for the Team plan.
How much does it cost?
Free grants 2 credits at $0, Pro is $19 per month for 300 credits and Team is $59 per month for 1500 credits. Yearly and one-time options exist, but their amounts are not rendered in the served page.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes. You must be at least 13 to create an account and 18 to make a purchase, per section 4 of the Terms.
How are refunds handled?
Failed generations are refunded automatically. One-time packs can be refunded within 14 days if less than 20% has been used, monthly subscriptions are not refundable for the current month, annual plans are refunded pro rata within 30 days if less than 50% has been used, and EU and UK buyers keep a 14-day withdrawal right.
Where is my data hosted, and how long is it kept?
Infrastructure and most sub-processors are based in the United States, with transfers covered by Standard Contractual Clauses. Generated images and their prompts are kept for 365 days from creation, then permanently deleted.
Conclusion

Should you pick Tshirt Design AI?

Tshirt Design AI is deliberately narrow, and that is its strength. One surface, the t-shirt, and one chain: prompt, live preview, print file. The value lies less in the generation itself than in what comes out the other end — a transparent, cut-out, watermark-free PNG at 300 DPI and 4500x5400, with margins that survive DTG and screen printing. The separate slogan field, printed character for character, answers a well-known weakness of AI image models, and Studio's batch mode addresses the print-on-demand case where volume matters more than the single piece.

The counterpart is the publisher's opacity. The operator describes itself as an independent sole proprietorship, names no company, gives no postal address, publishes no legal-notice page and offers a single email. Against that, the legal documents are unusually serious for a product this young: eight sub-processors named with their countries, a numeric retention table, Article 6 legal bases, Standard Contractual Clauses, and a no-training commitment stated in both the product pages and the Terms.

Two points deserve care. Responsibility for infringement is transferred to the user in full, with no upstream check of any kind: the service states it does not review, clear or license Outputs. And the product has almost no history — the domain was registered on 11/07/2026 and the badge still reads v1.0.

For a designer, a small brand or a print-on-demand seller who wants a usable file rather than a workflow, the trade is reasonable, and the free credits let you test it without a card. For anyone needing an API, an application, a store integration or an identifiable counterparty, the tool stops at the file.
