Videowise
Videowise is a video commerce platform for ecommerce brands and retailers. It turns product videos, live streams and creator content into shoppable, AI-indexed experiences across storefronts, social channels and email, then measures the revenue each video actually generates.
What is Videowise?
Videowise is a video commerce platform for ecommerce brands and retailers, published by Reeview Inc., a Delaware corporation, and founded in 2021 according to its own trust centre. It is sold as four modules that can be bought separately or bundled: Shoppable Video, Live Shopping, AI Clips and Content Creation.
Shoppable Video embeds unlimited widgets and galleries across product pages, collections and the homepage, with display rules and triggers, an AI-driven video feed, shoppable images and hotspots, add-to-cart and direct checkout, real-time inventory and dynamic currency, interactive quizzes and forms, adaptive bitrate streaming, captions and ADA compliance. Live Shopping simulcasts a single stream to the storefront and to TikTok, Instagram with DM selling, Facebook, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Twitch or a custom RTMP source, with multi-host layouts, email and SMS RSVP, a comment unibox, AI moderation, gamification and shoppable replays.
The AI layer sits in two further modules. AI Clips analyses footage frame by frame, detects scenes and splits long videos into reusable hooks, product moments and calls to action, then labels and tags them automatically, creator facial recognition included; the product page claims 80% less editing work and clips created ten times faster. AI Studio generates video from still images, producing lookbook clips, 180-degree product videos and virtual try-on images in bulk, with custom prompts, Shopify inventory sync and one-click publishing to product galleries. Around them sit an AI media library with natural-language search and automatic rights expiry, a UGC hub with Instagram and TikTok social listening, and a vetted creator network with briefs, approvals and product seeding.
Results land in a unified analytics dashboard that separates direct from influenced revenue and supports custom attribution. The platform integrates natively with Shopify and Shopify Plus and also supports Magento, Adobe Commerce and Salesforce Commerce Cloud, alongside Klaviyo and mobile app builders such as Tapcart, Reactiv, Fuego and Superfans. Videowise claims over 4,000 brands and retailers and advertises uplifts of 35% in conversion rate and 28% in average order value. Page speed is a stated constraint: scripts weigh a little over 100 KB and the player loads only when a compressed thumbnail is clicked.
What it does
- Embed shoppable videos and galleries across product pages, collections and key steps of the buying journey
- Run live shopping sessions simulcast to the storefront and to social channels, then replay them as shoppable videos
- Index an entire video library with AI and search it in natural language by product, object, scene or creator
- Split long videos automatically into reusable clips for ads, product pages, email and social
- Generate product videos and try-on images from still photographs and publish them to product galleries in one click
- Collect UGC, listen to Instagram and TikTok mentions and manage creator usage rights end to end

When to use Videowise / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Videowise is the right fit.
When to use Videowise
- Ecommerce and growth teams at Shopify or Shopify Plus brands that already run enough traffic to justify a four-figure annual video budget
- Retailers sitting on a large back catalogue of creator content and UGC that nobody has time to edit, tag or re-publish
- Brands that want live selling simulcast to their own storefront and to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or Facebook from a single dashboard
- Multi-store and multi-brand operations that need shared assets, granular roles and agency access across several storefronts
- Consumer verticals the platform documents by name: apparel, cosmetics, skincare, haircare, supplements, electronics, home and garden, food and beverage, sports, pet and baby
When not to use Videowise
- Anyone looking for a general-purpose video editor or a video host: every feature here is anchored to a product catalogue
- Small stores and early-stage merchants, since there is no permanent free plan and the cheapest recurring module starts at $159 per month
- Consumers, creators or individuals: the terms restrict the service to lawful business use and to users aged 18 or over
- Developers who expect an open, documented API to build on; integration goes through the Shopify app and a mobile SDK instead
- Merchants running on ecommerce stacks other than Shopify, Magento, Adobe Commerce or Salesforce Commerce Cloud, which are the only platforms named
How to use Videowise
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Book a demo, since every pricing card routes to the demo form rather than to a self-serve sign-up
- Install the Shopify app or sign in at the Videowise dashboard once a plan has been agreed
- Answer the short onboarding questions and let the platform sync the store catalogue, which the FAQ says takes under a minute
- Import or sync existing footage from uploads, Instagram, TikTok, Google Drive, Dropbox, Box.com, Shopify or Meta Ads
- Let the AI library index and tag the catalogue, then split long videos into clips with AI Clips
- Generate additional product videos and try-on images from still photographs in AI Studio if the library is thin
- Tag videos to products and place widgets on the homepage, product pages, collections and review pages using display rules
- Extend the same videos off-site through Klaviyo email and SMS, shareable links and QR codes
- Invite teammates and agencies with Admin or Editor roles, the Editor role excluding access to customer information
- Track direct and influenced revenue in the analytics dashboard and refine placements with the built-in A/B testing framework
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Covers creation, distribution and measurement in one platform instead of three separate tools
- Native Shopify and Shopify Plus integration, billed and cancelled through Shopify, with no contract
- Unusually dense proof: over 4,000 brands claimed, 50+ five-star G2 reviews, 250+ on the Shopify app, and named case studies with figures
- A contractual performance guarantee: a refund is available if no tracked metric improves by at least 1% over the first 90 days
- Page speed treated as a design constraint, with roughly 100 KB scripts and a player that loads only on click
- SOC 2 Type II certification, a public trust centre, a published subprocessor list and a status page
- No Videowise branding on the player or the widgets, at any tier
Cons
- No permanent free plan, and the free trial is granted only on request rather than offered by default
- Modular pricing across four products makes the real total hard to anticipate: the full platform starts at $479 per month billed annually
- Prices are floors indexed on tiers such as 50,000 monthly visitors, streamed minutes or 100 GB of storage, so the bill grows with the store
- Creator content and managed campaigns are quoted on request only, with no public price
- No public API documentation, no about page and no contact page on the site
- The article 27 EU representative is announced in the privacy policy but never actually named
- Nothing is published about AI model training on customer data, although OpenAI, Claude and KLINGAI appear on the subprocessor list
Pricing & Plans
There is no permanent free plan. A free trial or pilot is granted on request only, and a money-back guarantee applies by default to all solutions. Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Videowise handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR implementation is explicit and documented. The privacy policy, last updated on 3 December 2025, sets out a dual role: processor for data collected through widgets on merchant sites, controller for dashboard accounts. A Data Processing Agreement is published and incorporated into the terms by reference. Legal bases are named article by article, international transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK IDTA and Swiss addenda, and a US transfer impact assessment is available on request. Data subject rights are listed with a 30-day response window and a dedicated address, privacy@videowise.com. The vendor also holds SOC 2 Type II certification and publishes a subprocessor list. One gap remains: the article 27 EU representative section is still an unfilled template.
Who owns the data?
Under section 2.3 of the terms of use, the customer keeps all ownership rights in the data, text, images and video uploaded to the service, and Videowise states that it acquires no ownership interest whatsoever. What the vendor receives is a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use, reproduce and display that content strictly as needed to provide, maintain and improve the service, and that licence ends when the subscription ends. For personal data collected through widgets embedded on merchant sites, Videowise acts as processor and the merchant remains controller; for dashboard accounts it acts as an independent controller. Processing is governed by a published Data Processing Agreement.
Reuse rights
Customers can reuse their own content freely: they own it, and the platform is designed to recirculate it. Videos and UGC can be imported, clipped, tagged, republished on product pages, in email and SMS campaigns through Klaviyo, in QR codes and across social feeds without asking the vendor for permission. Two limits are contractual rather than technical. First, the customer is solely responsible for holding the rights to everything uploaded, which is why the platform ships usage-rights management and automatically removes content whose rights have expired. Second, personal data exported from the dashboard remains the customer's responsibility to secure. Videowise itself does not sell or share personal information, and content can be exported within thirty days after a subscription ends.

Hosting summary
Videowise does not publish a hosting country or region. What it does publish is a subprocessor list covering the infrastructure it relies on: AWS, GCP, CDN77, MUX, LiveKit, MongoDB and MongoDB Atlas, Hookdeck and ngrok. The privacy policy states only that personal data may be transferred to and processed in the United States or in other jurisdictions where Videowise or its subprocessors operate. For transfers out of the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the vendor relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and Swiss-specific modifications, and it has carried out a transfer impact assessment for the United States, summarised on request. Governing law for both the terms and the privacy policy is the State of Delaware. Technically, the domain resolves behind Cloudflare with a US-geolocated anycast address, which is an infrastructure signal rather than a statement from the vendor about where customer data actually lives.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Videowise.
- The 'Try for free' button on every pricing card leads to the demo form, not to a sign-up: the free trial is discretionary and granted on request
- The performance guarantee is heavily conditioned — sixty consecutive live days, a completed A/B test, written notice ten days before the ninety-day window closes and a formal claim within a hundred days of the first charge
- Displayed prices are floors: they scale with monthly visitors, streamed minutes and storage, so the invoice grows exactly as the store succeeds
- Enterprise and annual customers are governed by Master Terms hosted on Notion that replace the site's terms of use entirely, so the public terms may not describe the actual contract
- Content is permanently deleted thirty days after a subscription ends: plan the export before cancelling, not after
- Published uplift figures come from the vendor and its customers; treat 35% conversion or 28% AOV as best cases, not as expected outcomes
- Automating creator content at scale still leaves the customer solely liable for rights and licensing, and a rights-management feature does not transfer that responsibility
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low for a Shopify merchant. Installation goes through the Shopify app store, the store catalogue syncs automatically, and the FAQ claims an account is operational in under a minute. Widgets are placed with display rules and triggers rather than code, and personalised onboarding with a dedicated success manager is included in every plan. The only genuinely technical component is the mobile SDK used by app builders. The trade-off is the reverse of the usual one: with no public API, there is little to integrate but also little room for custom automation beyond what the dashboard offers.

Should you pick Videowise?
Videowise is a mature, well-documented product with an identifiable publisher behind it: Reeview Inc., a Delaware corporation founded in 2021. Its positioning is unusually clear for the category. This is not a video host with a shopping bolt-on, but a commerce tool in which every feature is anchored to a product catalogue, from in-video checkout to inventory sync and revenue attribution. The AI layer is real rather than decorative: frame-level indexing, automatic clipping and image-to-video generation genuinely remove production work that smaller teams simply cannot afford to do by hand.
The commitment it asks for is substantial. There is no free tier, the cheapest recurring module is $159 per month and the complete platform starts at $479 per month billed annually, with prices indexed on traffic, streamed minutes and storage. That makes Videowise a fit for stores whose volume already justifies a four- or five-figure annual video budget, and a poor fit for everyone below that line. The contractual performance guarantee partly offsets the risk, but its conditions are strict: sixty consecutive days live, at least one completed A/B test, written notice at least ten days before the ninety-day window closes.
Three grey areas deserve attention before signing. The article 27 EU representative is announced in the privacy policy but never named, which weakens an otherwise solid GDPR posture. No hosting country or region is published, only a general statement about transfers to the United States. And the vendor says nothing at all about whether customer content feeds AI model training, even though OpenAI, Claude and KLINGAI appear on its own subprocessor list. None of these is disqualifying, but all three are worth putting in writing before a contract is signed.
