VidStats
VidStats is an AI-powered YouTube analytics platform for creators. It tracks channel performance, benchmarks competitors, reads comment sentiment and optimises video metadata, and adds 28 free tools that work without an account.
What is VidStats?
VidStats is a web-based analytics and growth platform built exclusively for YouTube channels. Founded by Minhaj Hoque, a data engineer and self-taught developer, it grew out of a personal project meant to help a small group of creators, and now presents itself as a professional YouTube analytics platform used by thousands of channels.
The product is organised in two tiers. The first is a set of 28 free tools that run without an account: title, thumbnail, description, hashtag and tag generators; engagement, video-length and subscriber-ratio calculators; metadata, channel-ID and keyword finders; subtitle, banner and thumbnail downloaders; a copyright-music checker; a giveaway comment picker; and a video performance predictor. The second is the paid Pro suite, six AI systems covering comment sentiment analysis, competitor analysis, content idea generation, universal cross-platform sharing, metadata optimisation, and a trend and tag explorer.
Between the two sits the analytics dashboard itself, which requires connecting a YouTube channel through Google OAuth. It reports views, watch time, subscribers and engagement rates across Overview, Engagement, Growth and Performance tabs, and adds audience demographics and psychographics, traffic maps, posting windows drawn from audience activity heatmaps, and growth forecasting. The free Starter plan covers one channel; the Pro plans raise that to three.
VidStats displays an Official YouTube API Partner badge and states that YouTube login credentials are never stored, that OAuth access can be revoked at any time, and that Google user data is never sold, rented or transferred. The site carries a Product Hunt listing, a verified G2 profile and a Research.com award for social media management software.
What the site does not publish matters just as much. There is no legal entity, no postal address, no legal-notice page, no data processing agreement, no named subprocessors and no explicit GDPR claim. The privacy policy has not been revised since November 2024, although the changelog shows active development through July 2026, and non-paying users are served AdSense advertising. This is a well-featured, low-priced tool for individual creators rather than a compliance-ready vendor for organisations.
What it does
- Track channel views, watch time, subscribers and engagement on a single dashboard
- Benchmark your channel against competitors and spot the gaps you can own
- Analyse comment sentiment and emotion to see how an audience actually reacts
- Optimise titles, descriptions and tags for search and recommendation
- Generate video ideas from trending topics, keywords and search volume
- Find the posting windows when your audience is most active
- Use 28 free utilities — generators, calculators, downloaders — without an account
When to use VidStats / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if VidStats is the right fit.
When to use VidStats
- Solo YouTube creators who find YouTube Studio's raw statistics hard to act on
- Creators who need competitor benchmarking against similar channels in their niche
- Channel owners researching topics, trending queries and tags before they film
- Creators on a tight budget: a permanent free tier and a Pro plan at 5 USD per month
- Small teams managing up to three YouTube channels from one account
When not to use VidStats
- Anyone needing analytics for TikTok, Instagram or LinkedIn: the platform covers YouTube only
- Video editors and producers looking for editing or generation tools rather than measurement
- Agencies and media groups: no enterprise tier, no seats, and a hard ceiling of three channels
- Developers wanting to pull the data elsewhere: there is no public API and no API documentation
- Organisations with procurement or data-protection requirements: no legal entity, address, DPA or subprocessor list is published
How to use VidStats
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Start with the free tools: they need no sign-up and no installation
- Create an account when you want analytics tied to your own channel
- Connect your YouTube channel through Google OAuth, granting the permissions requested
- Select the channel to analyse — one on Starter, up to three on the Pro plans
- Read the dashboard tabs: Overview, Engagement, Growth and Performance
- Add competitors to benchmark your metrics against comparable channels
- Run comment sentiment analysis on published videos to read audience reaction
- Use the Content Optimizer on titles, descriptions and tags before you upload
- Check the recommended posting windows for your audience's active hours
- Upgrade from the pricing page if you need the Pro suite: activation is immediate
Pros & Cons

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how VidStats handles your data.
GDPR overview
There is no explicit GDPR claim anywhere on the site. The word appears only in the meta keywords of the privacy policy, never in the body of any page. The policy does list rights that resemble the regulation's own — access, correction, deletion, portability and withdrawal of consent — and commits to encryption in transit, access controls and data minimisation, but it never names the regulation, never states a legal basis for processing and never mentions standard contractual clauses. No EU representative under Article 27 is designated, no data protection officer is named, and no dedicated privacy address is given: requests go to the general contact address. No data processing agreement is offered and no subprocessors are named. The policy is dated 21 November 2024 and has not been revised since.
Who owns the data?
The terms make VidStats the owner of the service, its content and its functionality; the user keeps their own account and channel data. YouTube data is read through the YouTube API Services only with the user's permission, and the terms state that YouTube login credentials are never stored. The privacy policy commits that Google user data is never sold, rented or transferred to third parties, and that data is shared only as needed to run the application. Users can request access, correction, deletion or a portable copy of their data, and can revoke the OAuth connection to their YouTube account at any time. No legal entity is named as the controller.
Reuse rights
The user reuses their own channel data freely: the insights, exports and generated titles, descriptions, tags and thumbnails are theirs to publish, and nothing in the terms restricts what they do with the output. The restriction runs the other way. The use licence covers only temporary, personal and non-commercial viewing of VidStats' own materials, and forbids copying them, using them commercially or publicly, reverse-engineering the platform, removing proprietary notices, or reselling, redistributing or sublicensing access to the service. Automated tools and bots may not be used to access the service without permission. On its own side, VidStats says it uses collected data only to deliver, maintain, personalise and improve the service, and may keep aggregated, de-identified data for internal analytics.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
The site never states where user data is hosted: no country, no region, no hosting provider and no jurisdiction are named anywhere in the privacy policy, the terms or elsewhere. What it does describe is security practice rather than location: data in transit is encrypted with industry standard SSL/TLS, access is restricted to authorised personnel, security audits and vulnerability assessments are said to be conducted regularly, and only necessary data is collected and retained. The changelog mentions Supabase as the database layer, which is an implementation detail and not a hosting commitment. Independently of the site, the domain resolves to an IP address geolocated in the United States on an Amazon anycast node; that indicates a point of service on a content delivery network, not the place where data is stored. Anyone with a residency requirement should treat the hosting jurisdiction as unknown.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting VidStats.
- No legal entity or postal address is published, so you cannot identify who you are contracting with
- All sales are final: no refunds, no free trial, and no downgrade path once you have paid
- Granting OAuth access to your YouTube channel: check the permissions and know how to revoke them
- The privacy policy dates from November 2024 and no longer describes a product that has changed a lot since
- Nothing is said about whether your data trains AI models, so silence should not be read as a commitment
- The legacy Lifetime Pro licence carries an explicit warning that perpetual availability is not guaranteed and no refund will follow
- Leaning on AI-generated titles, tags and video ideas can quietly flatten your own editorial judgement
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Very easy. The 28 free tools need no installation and no account: you open the page and use them. For analytics, you create an account and connect your YouTube channel through Google OAuth, which takes a few clicks. There is nothing to configure, no code, no extension and no plugin — the product is a web application only. The only real decisions are which permissions to grant and which channel to connect, with a limit of one on the free plan and three on Pro.

Should you pick VidStats?
VidStats delivers an unusual amount of function for its price. Five dollars a month, or forty-nine dollars a year, buys competitor analysis, comment sentiment scoring, AI content ideas, metadata optimisation and posting-schedule recommendations. Around it sit 28 genuinely free tools that require no account at all, which makes the platform easy to test before committing anything.
The product is young. The domain was registered in October 2024 and first archived in December 2024, and the changelog shows steady work through July 2026, including a full rebuild of the dashboard analytics tabs.
The reservations are about the company rather than the software. VidStats publishes no legal entity, no postal address and no legal-notice page, so the counterparty to the contract cannot be identified. There is no data processing agreement, no subprocessor list and no security certification. GDPR is never claimed in the body of any page, and the privacy policy has not been updated since November 2024. There are no refunds, no free trial, and no way to downgrade a plan without cancelling and waiting for it to expire. The homepage's structured data still advertises a nineteen-dollar Pro plan that the pricing page contradicts.
For an individual creator who wants a sharper reading of their own channel and is spending a few dollars a month, those gaps are manageable and the value is real. For an agency, a media company or any organisation with procurement or data-protection requirements, the absence of an identifiable legal entity and of any processing agreement is likely to be disqualifying on its own.
