MiriCanvas
MiriCanvas is a Korean online design editor combining 530,000+ templates with built-in AI for presentations, images, video, copywriting, logos and voice. It suits non-designers who need social posts, slide decks, posters or product pages quickly.
What is MiriCanvas?
MiriCanvas is an online design editor published by MIRI D.I.H Co., Ltd, a Korean company based in Seoul and founded in 2008, which also runs BizHows (print on demand) and Smilecat. The product is positioned as a free, template-driven design tool with an AI layer branded miricle. The vendor advertises more than 530,000 templates and over 10 million elements, covering photos, icons, videos and audio, and claims 2 million monthly active users, service in more than 180 regions and over 400 million designs downloaded.
The editor runs in the browser and covers the formats a small team produces every week: presentations, YouTube thumbnails, social media posts, product detail pages, quizzes and posters. Work is edited element by element, so text, images and shapes stay independent and can be moved, resized, animated or reordered at will.
The AI layer splits into three groups. Creation brings AI Presentation, AI Writing, AI Poster, AI Image, AI Video, AI Character, AI Icon, AI Illustration, AI Logo and AI Background. Editing brings AI Image Editor, Background Remover, AI Image Extender, AI Image Upscaler, AI Eraser, Image to Illustration and Colorize. Video brings Create AI Shorts, scenes for Reels-style UGC, animation scenes, Create Video and Create Voice. An AI product showcase turns an uploaded product photo into a finished visual.
Sign-in works by email or through Naver, Google, Kakao, Facebook, Apple or Whale. The interface is published in eleven languages, and iOS and Android applications have been available since 2024, so a design started on a computer can be picked up on a tablet or a phone. The footer displays ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27701 badges, and the home page shows the logos of large companies including LG Electronics, Samsung, Netflix and Pfizer, displayed without any stated commercial relationship.
The scope has limits worth knowing. There is no public API and no developer documentation; API integration appears only as an Enterprise plan feature. The business and enterprise pages are served in Korean only, and phone support is Korean. Several functions, AI Tools and Background Removal among them, were missing from the mobile app at launch.

When to use MiriCanvas / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if MiriCanvas is the right fit.
When to use MiriCanvas
- Non-designers who need a presentable deck, poster or social post fast, with no graphic design training
- Marketing teams and small businesses with no in-house design studio
- Teachers and students building lesson decks, resumes and cover letters
- Online sellers producing product detail pages, product visuals and store social posts
- Korean companies and public institutions, the vendor claiming 2,800+ client organisations on its Korean B2B page
When not to use MiriCanvas
- Developers who need a public API: there is no developer documentation, and API integration is quoted only as an Enterprise plan feature
- People who want to work mainly from a phone: AI Tools and Background Removal were absent from the mobile app at launch
- Teams that need brand assets they can register: the License Agreement forbids using a User Design as a logo, BI/CI or trademark to be filed
- Stock contributors: reselling User Designs that include Design Elements on Shutterstock, Getty Images, Naver OGQ and similar marketplaces is prohibited
- Organisations outside Korea needing a documented enterprise offer: the business page is Korean-only and phone support (1800-7848) is in Korean
How to use MiriCanvas
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Create an account with an email address or a social identity: Naver, Google, Kakao, Facebook, Apple or Whale
- Pick a starting point: search the template library by format from the home page, or open the AI presentation flow
- For an AI presentation, type in your topic or upload a PDF to work from
- Choose a visual style for the deck
- Refine the content by talking to the AI, then review the generated outline
- Edit element by element: text, images and shapes remain independent objects
- Drag and drop to reposition and resize, and add, delete or reorder slides at any point
- Apply animation effects in one click
- Export to PDF, PNG or JPG, to PPTX for further editing in PowerPoint, to MP4 or GIF, or share a link for co-editing
- Carry on from the iOS or Android app, which picks up a design started on a computer; 4 GB of RAM is recommended
Pros & Cons
Pros
- A permanent and substantial free plan: 50,000+ templates, 350,000+ photos and graphics, 1 GB of personal storage
- Broad AI coverage inside a single editor: text, image, illustration, icon, logo, video and voice
- PPTX export that stays editable element by element in PowerPoint
- Explicit commitment that user inputs are not used for AI training by the vendor
- ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27701 badges displayed, with processors and cross-border transfers named in the privacy policy
- Interface in 11 languages, with service claimed in 180+ regions
- iOS and Android apps, work picked up across devices, and a free Pro trial (one per user)
Cons
- Plan prices are absent from the pricing page, which renders them in JavaScript; the Pro amount is only legible in a help centre billing article
- No EU representative is appointed under Article 27 of the GDPR
- No customer DPA is published or offered; the only Data Processing Agreement cited binds MiriCanvas to hCaptcha
- AI tool inputs are shared with OpenAI in the United States, which may use them to improve its own services, and no data opt-out is documented
- No public API and no developer documentation
- No 'about' page and no contact page in English, a single generic address (miricanvas@miricanvas.com) with no dedicated support mailbox, and legal pages served from a Zendesk help centre that answers 403 to crawlers
- Enterprise and B2B pages are Korean-only with Korean phone support, and AI Tools and Background Removal were missing from the mobile app at launch
Pricing & Plans
A free plan is available and is presented as free for life. The lowest paid entry point is the Pro plan, at USD 11.99 per member per month, or USD 129.99 per member per year on annual billing, the pricing page stating that tax is included. These amounts do not appear on the pricing page itself, whose figures are rendered in JavaScript: they are published in a billing article of the vendor's own help centre. The Enterprise plan is quoted individually, with flexible pricing, through b2b@miricanvas.com. A free Pro trial is offered, one per user, and converts to automatic billing when it ends. A subscription taken out inside the mobile application costs more, because of app store commissions.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how MiriCanvas handles your data.
GDPR overview
The privacy policy, effective 26 May 2026, carries a dedicated section titled For Users Having Usual Residence in European Union. It lists legal bases for processing (consent, performance of the contract, legal obligation, vital interest and legitimate interest) and recognises the right to have personal data transferred to another manager, the right to refuse processing, and the right to bring a grievance before a data protection authority. Marketing consent may be withdrawn at any time, and requests can be made by phone, email or post, to be handled without delay. A Chief Privacy Officer is designated, reachable at miricanvas@miricanvas.com or 1800-7848, and equivalent sections exist for California (CPRA), Virginia (VCDPA) and Japan. One gap is worth naming: no EU representative under Article 27 is appointed anywhere in the pages collected.
Who owns the data?
Under the AI Tools Terms, the user keeps copyright and ownership of User Input Data and AI Outputs, to the extent permitted by law, and the company claims no moral right over either. In return, the user authorises MIRI D.I.H to use those inputs and outputs for marketing purposes and to improve the service. Everything the platform supplies stays with the vendor: Design Elements and templates remain the property of MIRI D.I.H and of the original authors, and the License Agreement states that all rights not explicitly granted to the user, copyright and other intellectual property rights included, are held by the company and those original authors.
Reuse rights
MiriCanvas states plainly that it does not use User Input Data for AI training. The reservation sits downstream: by using the AI tools, the user consents to inputs being shared with technology partners such as OpenAI, LLC in the United States, both so those partners can deliver their service and so they can use the data to improve their own services. Stable Diffusion technology is also used, under the Creative ML OpenRAIL-M licence. Users may reuse their own designs and AI outputs as their own work without asking permission, subject to two contractual limits: no User Design may serve as a logo, BI/CI or a trademark to be registered, and User Designs containing Design Elements may not be resold on stock libraries and marketplaces such as Shutterstock, Getty Images or Naver OGQ. Users also undertake not to enter sensitive personal data, such as ethnic origin, political opinions, religion, trade union membership, health, sex life or sexual orientation, into the AI tools. Personal data is processed under the Korean PIPA, with GDPR legal bases listed for EU residents, and processors are named: KG INICIS, SK Planet, DAOU TECHNOLOGY, Korea Mobile Certification, GmateSystems, Innoi and NICE Information Service.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
MiriCanvas is operated from South Korea by MIRI D.I.H, under the Korean Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Data centre operation is subcontracted to GmateSystems Co., Ltd., a Korean processor, and the site's IP address resolves to Incheon, South Korea, on AWS infrastructure (AS16509). Cross-border transfers are declared by name in the privacy policy: Zendesk in Japan for support requests, Braze in the United States, Intuition Machines (hCaptcha) in EU member states and the United States, and OpenAI, LLC in the United States for AI tool inputs. Refusing these transfers means the service cannot be used, so there is no practical opt-out. On safeguards, the footer displays ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27701 badges, and the declared measures include an internal management plan, staff training, encryption, access control, access logs and physical control of the server rooms. No certificate number or certifying body is published on the site.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting MiriCanvas.
- Prices are not shown on the pricing page: check the amount inside the product before paying, since the figures in circulation come from a help centre article
- The free Pro trial rolls into automatic billing if the subscription is not cancelled before it ends, and no refund is granted for a change of mind, a misread offer or an accidental payment
- A subscription bought inside the mobile app costs more than on the web, because of app store commissions
- Whatever you type into the AI tools is passed to OpenAI in the United States, which may use it to improve its own services: treat prompts as data leaving the vendor
- The terms require you not to enter sensitive personal data, such as ethnic origin, political opinions, religion, health, sex life or union membership, into the AI tools, which rules out a whole class of professional use
- Contractual limits apply to what you make: a User Design may not be used as a logo, BI/CI or a trademark to be registered, designs containing Design Elements may not be resold on stock marketplaces, and you are required to disclose that content is AI-generated when sharing it
- For EU users, no Article 27 representative is appointed, and the terms may be amended without notice within the limits of the law
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Very low for an individual. Nothing is installed: the editor runs in the browser, and an account is created with an email address or a social identity (Naver, Google, Kakao, Facebook, Apple or Whale). The AI presentation flow is designed to require neither design skill nor prompt-writing skill. Mobile and tablet apps are available, with 4 GB of RAM recommended. The only part calling for real setup is the Enterprise tier, where SSO and API integration come with assisted onboarding rather than self-service.

Should you pick MiriCanvas?
MiriCanvas is a solid consumer-grade tool for producing presentable material fast, with no design skill required. Its strength is breadth inside one editor: a template library the vendor sizes at 530,000+ items, and an AI layer, miricle, spanning presentations, images, illustrations, logos, video and voice. The free plan is genuinely usable rather than a teaser, the PPTX export stays editable in PowerPoint, and eleven interface languages plus iOS and Android apps make it workable across devices.
The AI is broad but generalist, and it leans on outside partners: OpenAI for text, Stable Diffusion for images. That matters for governance. MiriCanvas commits clearly to not training on user inputs, and displays ISO/IEC 27001 and 27701 badges, yet those inputs still travel to OpenAI in the United States, which may use them to improve its own services. The GDPR posture is declared and detailed, with a dedicated EU section and named processors, but no Article 27 representative is appointed and no customer DPA is published. European organisations handling anything sensitive should weigh that before adopting it as a team tool.
Two further reservations. Price transparency is weak: the pricing page carries no figures at all, and the Pro amount has to be dug out of a help centre billing article, so the price deserves a check inside the product before paying. And the company is strongly Korean-anchored, the enterprise offer, the business page and phone support being in Korean only, which makes the Enterprise tier hard to evaluate from outside Korea.
For an individual, a teacher, a small marketing team or an online seller, it is a good and inexpensive choice. For a regulated or European organisation, it calls for due diligence first.
