What is Sider AI?
Sider AI is a browser extension that opens a persistent AI sidebar on top of whatever page you are already reading. Instead of sending you to a separate chat window, it works on the tab in front of you: you ask about the article, the PDF or the YouTube video currently open, and the answer arrives beside it.
The product is organised around three named parts. Chat is the comprehension layer. It brings GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek and GLM into a single panel, lets you switch model in one click, and can put the same question to several models at once so their answers can be compared. It summarises pages, PDFs, videos and search results, explains highlighted text from the context menu, and translates pages in a side-by-side bilingual view across more than fifty languages.
Claw is the agent layer. Built on OpenClaw, it takes a task described in plain words and carries it out across real websites using the sessions you are already logged into. Every step stays visible as it happens, and the output is a table, a report, a draft or a file rather than another pile of open tabs. Code is the customisation layer: describe a change to any website in ordinary language, watch the page update in real time, and the change is kept for your next visit.
Around those three sits a wider suite. Wisebase is a private knowledge base that ingests captured pages, pasted URLs and uploaded documents, then lets you chat across several files at once, with deep research, scholar research and a maths solver alongside it. A Create suite handles image generation and editing, background removal, upscaling, inpainting, video generation and slides. Separate translators cover text, images and PDFs, and there is audio-to-text, read-aloud and a meeting note taker.
Sider AI runs as a Chrome and Edge extension, a web app, desktop apps for macOS and Windows, and iOS and Android apps, all on one account. The publisher is Vidline Inc., based in Medford, Massachusetts. The interface is offered in 51 languages. There is no public API.

GDPR overview
The privacy policy states an explicit commitment to GDPR compliance and lists the rights available to EEA residents: access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection and restriction of processing. Those rights are exercised through a single channel, the care@sider.ai address given in the Contact Us section. Beyond that declaration, the usual formalities are absent. No EU representative is designated under Article 27, no data protection officer is named, no data processing agreement is published or offered on request, and no subprocessor list exists — third-party providers are only named in open-ended prose as "such as Google, Cloudflare, and Microsoft". No hosting country or region is declared anywhere. The policy is dated 5 March 2025.
Who owns the data?
The terms of use are explicit: you retain ownership of the AI-generated content you receive and are granted full rights to use, modify, distribute and commercialise it, including reproduction, commercial sharing, publication and derivative works, without attribution to Vidline Inc. The company states it claims no ownership over content generated from your inputs alone. The privacy policy, however, describes something different for the same content: a joint copyright shared between you, Sider.AI and third-party providers such as Stability, OpenAI and Claude, where no co-owner may license or transfer the work without the others' written consent. The two documents contradict each other and the discrepancy is unresolved.
Reuse rights
Under the terms of use, yes. You may reuse generated content without asking permission: the licence granted covers commercial reproduction and sharing, publication, incorporation into derivative works, and use without crediting the publisher. The pricing page repeats the point with a plain "Commercial Use Allowed" line. You remain solely responsible for holding the rights to whatever you submit and for ensuring the output breaks no law and infringes nobody's rights. Two limits deserve attention. The privacy policy's joint-copyright clause would, if it prevails over the terms, forbid licensing or transferring that content to a third party without the other co-owners' written consent. And the same clause reserves an internal right for Sider.AI to use generated content for research, product improvement and demonstration.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
Sider AI declares no hosting location. Neither the privacy policy, nor the terms of use, nor any trust or security page names a country, a region or a data centre where user data is stored, and there is no statement about international transfers or the safeguards applied to them. The only infrastructure signal available is indirect: Cloudflare is named among the third-party providers, and the domain resolves to a Cloudflare anycast node, which carries no geographic meaning since the same address answers from many locations. What the policy does describe is protection rather than place: enterprise-grade encryption, a protected cloud storage system for uploaded files, and physical, technical and administrative safeguards including firewalls, access controls and staff training. Users keep the ability to delete their files at any time. Anyone who needs to know the jurisdiction their data sits in will have to ask the publisher directly, as the site does not answer the question.
