RemotePeople
RemotePeople is a global employment platform for hiring, paying and managing staff in 150+ countries without a local entity. Its Command Center AI completes nine HR actions end to end, applying local labour law with expert review.
What is RemotePeople?
RemotePeople is a global employment platform that lets a company hire, pay and manage staff in more than 150 countries without opening a local entity. It bundles four services usually bought separately: employer of record, global payroll, international recruitment and company incorporation. The operator is Horizons Global Technology Pte. Ltd., a Singapore company founded in November 2018 and known as Horizons until its 2026 rebrand.
The AI layer is called Command Center. It is positioned against advisory chatbots: rather than answering a question, it completes the operation. Nine HR actions are available at launch across more than 180 countries — submitting an expense, onboarding a hire, adjusting a salary, running a termination, amending a contract, managing leave, generating a document, updating a job title and requesting expert guidance. A request is typed in plain language, in any language; the proprietary engine applies the relevant local labour law inside the flow, and every high-impact change is routed to an in-country specialist before it commits. All actions are logged, so the audit trail builds itself.
Around that sit the operational services. Employees are onboarded on locally compliant contracts in 24 to 48 hours, payroll goes live in five days, and contractors are classified and paid within 48 hours, with RemotePeople carrying the misclassification risk under its Contractor of Record line. In-country recruiters return four vetted candidates in 72 hours, and assessments, background checks, benefits, equity, visas, IT equipment and workspace can all be billed through the same invoice. Companies that outgrow the model can have their own entity opened and their EOR staff transferred onto it.
The company reports 3,000 customers, 250 staff across 30 countries and profitability since 2020. Security rests on SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications, with data hosted on AWS inside the European Union. Sixty-seven HRIS, payroll and identity connectors are published, but there is no documented public API and no mobile app: everything runs through a web portal and a quote-based sales process.

When to use RemotePeople / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if RemotePeople is the right fit.
When to use RemotePeople
- Small and mid-sized companies hiring their first employees abroad without opening a local entity
- HR and people operations teams with no in-country employment-law specialist on staff
- Finance and payroll teams consolidating multi-country payroll under a single invoice
- Companies leaving another EOR provider, since up to twelve months of exit fees are covered
- Businesses engaging international contractors who want the misclassification risk carried by the provider
When not to use RemotePeople
- Buyers who want a self-service sign-up, since every route goes through a quote and a sales conversation
- Teams looking for a free plan or a free trial, neither of which is published
- Engineering teams that need a public API, as only pre-built HRIS connectors are offered
- Users expecting a mobile app, because the product is a web portal only
- Individual workers and solo freelancers, since the platform is sold to the employer rather than the worker
How to use RemotePeople

- Sign, get access to the platform at app.remotepeople.com and meet your named account manager

- Connect your existing HRIS, payroll or identity provider from the 67 available connectors

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how RemotePeople handles your data.
GDPR overview
RemotePeople states GDPR compliance explicitly: the security page claims it is 100% GDPR compliant and the homepage carries a SOC 2 and GDPR badge. The privacy policy, last updated on 2 June 2026, says personal data is processed under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and the Data Protection Act 2018 regardless of where the individual lives, and lists seven rights: information, access and copy, erasure, restriction, objection, rectification and withdrawal of consent. A dedicated GDPR page exists, but it explains the regulation to prospective clients rather than setting out RemotePeople's own processor commitments. Three concrete elements are missing: no Article 27 EU representative is designated even though the controller is a Singapore company, no data protection officer or GDPR email address is published, and no data processing agreement is offered or mentioned anywhere on the site.
Who owns the data?
Horizons Global Technology Pte. Ltd., trading as RemotePeople, is the entity behind the platform, with a German arm, New Horizons Global Partners Germany GmbH, named in the imprint. The privacy policy states that employee data is never sold and never shared beyond the recipients it lists: hosting and customer-management vendors, banks, insurers and brokers, affiliated entities, immigration offices and tax authorities, and public authorities on legal request. Internal access follows a strict need-to-know rule, is revoked when staff leave, and everyone handling the data signs a confidentiality undertaking. One caveat is spelled out: in a merger, acquisition or bankruptcy, personal data may be disclosed, sold or transferred alongside the other assets.
Reuse rights
Customers gain no reuse licence over the platform's own materials. The terms of use grant only a temporary, personal and non-commercial download of website content, and expressly prohibit copying, modifying, reverse-engineering, mirroring or any public or commercial display without written consent. Personal data collected through the service is processed for contract performance, operating and improving the platform, developing and testing new features, payments, marketing, fraud and anti-money-laundering checks, and statutory tax, accounting and global-mobility obligations. Automatically collected data includes IP addresses, navigation flows, aggregated behaviour metrics and session recordings; special-category data is collected only where the law requires it, typically to form an employment relationship or file a visa application. The site says nothing about whether customer data feeds AI model training.

Hosting summary
All customer data is hosted on Amazon Web Services within the European Union. No individual hosting country is named, only the EU region. RemotePeople describes end-to-end encryption on every external communication and encryption of personal data at rest, in transit and in processing, with TLS/SSL and HTTPS used for transmission. Master-to-master replication supports continuous availability, uptime is advertised at 99.99%, and independent teams run penetration tests on a regular cycle. Certifications are SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, both listed as compliant on a Sprinto-hosted trust centre that also publishes the control families — product, data, network, application, endpoint and corporate security — along with more than thirty policies available on request. The one published subprocessor list is narrow: it names Airwallex for payment processing and nothing else, so the hosting provider, the help-centre platform and the session-recording tools mentioned in the privacy policy are never individually disclosed.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting RemotePeople.
- The advertised fee covers administration only: gross salary, employer contributions and optional benefits are billed on top, so the true cost per hire is unknown until the quote arrives
- EOR Plus at 399 USD per month requires an annual commitment and a minimum of five employees, unlike the monthly EOR Flex line
- No data processing agreement is offered or mentioned, a gap worth closing in writing before European HR data is transferred
- No Article 27 EU representative is designated even though the data controller is a Singapore company
- The published subprocessor list names only the payment processor, while the privacy policy also mentions session recordings and third-party hosting that are never identified
- Nothing is published about whether customer data trains the proprietary AI models, so the question is worth settling contractually
- The brand changed from Horizons to RemotePeople in 2026 and the site disclaims any link with Remote Europe Holding B.V., so older contracts and invoices may carry a different name
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
There is nothing to install: RemotePeople is a web portal, with no client software and no deployment work. The friction is commercial rather than technical, since every route starts with a quote form and a proposal returned within 24 hours. Once signed, onboarding an employee is quoted at 48 hours, payroll goes live in five days, and migrating from another EOR takes about two weeks. Integration relies on 67 pre-built HRIS, payroll and identity connectors rather than an API, and Command Center is designed to need no training. A named account manager supports the setup.

Should you pick RemotePeople?
RemotePeople is a mature operation rather than a young AI product. The company has been running since November 2018, claims 3,000 customers and 250 staff across 30 countries, and says it has been profitable since 2020 without outside capital. What it sells is the unglamorous infrastructure of international employment — legal employer of record, payroll, contracts, benefits, visas and entity setup — with recruitment attached so that sourcing and hiring do not require two vendors.
The AI angle is real but young. Command Center executes rather than advises, which is a meaningful distinction in a category crowded with chatbots, and the human checkpoint before high-impact changes is the right design for terminations and salary decisions. Nine actions is a narrow catalogue, and the site says more are being added, so buyers should scope what is genuinely automated today rather than what the positioning implies.
On price, transparency sits above the sector average for the EOR line, and the published 199 USD rate is well below the figures RemotePeople attributes to Deel, Remote, Oyster or Globalization Partners. That transparency thins out quickly: benefits, equity, visas, incorporation and entity management are all quoted case by case, and the headline fee excludes salary and employer contributions.
The weakest area is legal documentation. There is no data processing agreement, no data protection officer, no Article 27 EU representative for a Singapore controller, no published retention period, and a subprocessor list naming only a payment provider. For a company handling payroll, identity documents and special-category HR data, those are points to raise before signing rather than after. Best suited to HR and finance teams at internationally minded small and mid-sized companies; less suited to organisations expecting self-service pricing, an API or a mobile app.
