Overview

What is OneSky?

OneSky is a localization company whose flagship product, OLA (OneSky Localization Agent), packages machine translation as a team of specialised AI agents rather than a single model call. The agents mirror the roles of a translation agency: a localization manager fills in context from your style guide and preferences, translators produce candidates, voters choose between them, reviewers check context and formatting, and evaluators score the result with machine-translation quality metrics before flagging whatever still needs a person. The loop repeats until no further improvement is available.

Two claims sit behind that design. The first is that several context-tuned large language models beat one off-the-shelf model: OneSky lists GPT (4o-mini, o3), Claude (3-haiku, 3-5-sonnet), Gemini (2.0-flash-lite, 2.5-flash-preview) and Grok (3-mini) as built-in engines and arbitrates between their outputs with its own LQA algorithm. The second is that separating the roles raises quality further. The site advertises translations 20% more accurate than standard AI translation tools and results that are over 90% human-like, though it publishes no methodology for either figure.

What holds the output together is centralised context. Glossaries, style guides, translation memories, string descriptions, length limits and contextual screenshots live in one workspace and apply to every document, app, website and campaign, which is OneSky's answer to teams whose separate AI tools drift apart in tone.

The platform accepts more than thirty string-file formats, among them iOS .strings, .stringsdict and .xcstrings, Android XML, hierarchical and i18next JSON, PHP arrays, gettext PO, Java properties, .resx, XLIFF and YAML, plus .tmx, .txt and Excel documents. Coverage is 100+ languages and 800+ dialects, and the published language page lists 260 base languages.

Work can be submitted by hand or wired into a pipeline through a REST API, webhooks and a CLI tool, with GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket named as integration targets. Human post-editing is sold separately, drawing on a network the company says exceeds 1,000 linguists. OLA is currently offered as a beta, with a price discount attached to that status.

What it does

  • Translate app strings, websites, documents and marketing content into 100+ languages
  • Run several context-tuned LLMs in parallel and pick the best candidate for each string
  • Score translation quality automatically and flag the strings that need a human
  • Enforce glossaries, style guides and translation memories across every project
  • Generate new glossary entries from translations as they are validated
  • Report progress, quality and risk in a dashboard and a rolled-up email digest
  • Trigger localization from your own systems through the API, webhooks or the CLI

When to use OneSky / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if OneSky is the right fit.

When to use OneSky

  • Product and engineering teams shipping web, mobile or game apps in several languages at once
  • Localization managers who want glossaries, style guides and translation memories in one place
  • Small teams and early-stage startups that cannot staff an in-house localization function
  • Developers who want localization wired into their pipeline through a REST API, webhooks or a CLI
  • Companies migrating from another translation tool, since the major translation-memory formats import directly

When not to use OneSky

  • Teams needing video dubbing, subtitling or voice-over, none of which OLA offers
  • Anyone looking for live interpreting rather than written translation
  • Organisations that require certified or sworn translations for official filings
  • Buyers who need a permanent free tier, since only a 14-day trial is on offer
  • Teams that cannot run on beta software, which OneSky openly says OLA still is

How to use OneSky

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Create an account on the OneSky dashboard and start the 14-day trial, which asks for no credit card
  2. Load your context first: style guide, preferences, glossary and any existing translation memory
  3. Pick the target languages your plan allows, five on Starter and thirty on Pro
  4. Import your source strings by hand, or connect your system through the REST API, webhooks or the CLI
  5. Add string descriptions, length limits and screenshots so the agents translate with context
  6. Let the agent team translate, vote, review and evaluate in its own feedback loop
  7. Read the AI quality report and the progress digest to see what shipped and what was flagged
  8. Export the flagged strings for human post-editing, or order the post-editing service
  9. Export the finished translations, or let your pipeline pull them back automatically
  10. Buy an additional AI-word package if your monthly volume runs past the plan allowance

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how OneSky handles your data.

GDPR overview

The privacy policy and the terms of service in force never mention the GDPR, not once. No Article 27 EU representative is designated and no data protection officer is named. The policy does list rights that look familiar, including objecting to direct marketing, access, rectification, erasure, portability and complaining to a supervisory authority, and it commits to answering requests within 30 days at support@onesky.ai, but it never ties any of them to the regulation. The only GDPR material anywhere on the site is a blog post dated 23 July 2025 describing a customer DPA that contains EU Model Clauses; that post still links to the publisher's former domain and email address, and its subprocessor list contradicts the current security page. Compliance is recorded as N because of that silence, not because of any refusal.

Who owns the data?

The terms are explicit on ownership: as between the parties, the customer retains all right, title and interest, including intellectual property rights, in the Service Data it uploads. OneSky takes only a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, copy, store, transmit, modify and display that data, and that licence is bounded by the purpose of delivering the service. The agreement is governed by the law of Singapore, with the courts of Singapore holding exclusive jurisdiction, which is what would decide any ownership dispute. The publisher named in the terms is Onesky Technology Pte. Ltd.

Reuse rights

Customers keep their source and translated content and may export, reuse and redistribute it without asking OneSky for permission: the licence in the terms runs the other way, from customer to vendor, and only for operating the service. On the vendor side, the AI Program Terms state that customer data will not be used for model training without consent, while content may still be used to develop and improve the service under the terms of service. Usage data is treated separately, and the terms allow OneSky to share it with subscribers, partners and service providers and to publish it in aggregated form. Translation itself runs through named AI subprocessors, namely OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI and Google Gemini. No documented switch lets a customer exclude their data from training, so the safeguard rests entirely on consent not being given.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
OneSky does not publish a fixed retention period. The terms give you thirty days after termination or expiry to request an export of your Service Data; past that window OneSky is under no obligation to keep it and may delete or destroy it. The privacy policy says data processed on behalf of a subscriber is kept for as long as providing the service requires, and that it will be deleted on request, subject to what must be retained to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce agreements. Requests to access, change or remove personal information are answered within thirty days at support@onesky.ai. Beyond those two thirty-day windows, no duration is stated anywhere on the site.

Hosting summary

OneSky states that all servers run on Google Cloud Computing Services, but it never says in which country or region customer data is stored, and no data residency option is advertised. Application servers are described as physically and logically separated from the servers holding customer data, behind a dedicated VPN and firewall, with hardened operating systems, SSL/TLS in transit, PCI-compliant payment partners and no card details stored. A 24/7 team is said to monitor vulnerabilities and audit against Google Cloud best practice, and staff access is role-based, granted at hire and revoked at termination. The security page does publish a subprocessor table with each entity's location: Google Cloud, SendGrid, Zendesk, Auth0, HubSpot, OpenAI, xAI, Anthropic and Google Gemini in the United States, and Xero in New Zealand. Those are the countries where those companies are established, not a statement about where your strings are stored, and the two should not be confused. Jurisdiction over the contract itself is Singapore.

Watch-outs

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting OneSky.

  • No postal address anywhere on the site: if a dispute arises, the only anchor is a company name in the terms and jurisdiction in Singapore
  • The legal pages in force are silent on the GDPR, and the only GDPR material is an outdated blog post pointing at the publisher's former domain with an obsolete subprocessor list
  • Protection against model training rests on consent alone, with no documented opt-out control, so the safeguard is only as strong as what you agreed to
  • Content is routed through several third-party AI vendors - OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI and Google Gemini - so confidential source strings leave your own perimeter
  • The entry price can rise without notice: 29 USD is a beta discount on a 49 USD list price with no announced end date
  • Trusting an automated quality score is a habit worth resisting: flagged strings are surfaced, but unflagged errors still ship, and a team that stops reading its translations loses the ability to spot them
  • The homepage customer strip still displays Webflow template placeholder logos, a useful reminder to verify claims rather than read the shop window
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Setup can be as light or as deep as you want it. The simplest path needs no engineering at all: create an account, upload string files by hand, set your preferences and let the agents work. The deeper path wires OneSky into your pipeline through the REST API, webhooks or the CLI tool, with GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket named as targets, and that part expects a developer. The real effort is neither: it is assembling the context, style guide, glossary and translation memory that decide how good the output will be.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is OLA?
OLA, the OneSky Localization Agent, is a team of specialised AI agents - a localization manager, translators, voters, reviewers and quality evaluators - that work in sequence and in a feedback loop instead of a single model call. It is the flagship product of OneSky, a software localization company.
How many languages does it support?
OneSky advertises more than 100 languages and over 800 dialects. Its published language page lists 260 base languages, plus regional variants such as Afrikaans (Namibia) or Arabic (Morocco).
Is there a free plan?
No. There is a 14-day free trial that includes 2,000 AI words and asks for no credit card, but no permanent free tier: after the trial you move to a paid plan.
What does it cost?
Starter is USD 29 per month and Pro USD 129 per month under the current beta discount, against list prices of USD 49 and USD 169. Enterprise is quoted on request. Additional AI-word packages start at USD 70 per month for 10,000 words.
Will my content be used to train AI models?
The AI Program Terms state that your data will not be used for model training without your consent, while content may be used to develop and improve the service under the terms. No opt-out switch is documented, so the protection rests on consent alone.
Which file formats does it handle?
More than thirty string-file formats, including iOS .strings, .stringsdict and .xcstrings, Android XML, hierarchical and i18next JSON, PHP arrays, gettext PO, Java properties, .resx, XLIFF and YAML, plus .tmx, .txt and Excel documents.
Can I connect it to my development pipeline?
Yes. OneSky publishes a REST API on a dedicated developer subdomain, supports webhooks, and ships an open-source CLI tool. GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket are named as integration targets.
Who is behind the tool, and under which law?
The terms of service name Onesky Technology Pte. Ltd. and place the agreement under the law of Singapore, with exclusive jurisdiction there. No postal address is published anywhere on the site.
Is the product stable?
OneSky presents OLA as a beta and runs a dedicated page explaining why: it is gathering early-adopter feedback, expects to fix bugs and may change features. The price discount is the stated compensation for that.
Conclusion

Should you pick OneSky?

OneSky is not a new arrival dressed up as an AI product. The company has been doing software and digital-content localization long enough to have a network of more than a thousand linguists and named customer stories, and OLA is what it built on top of that: a multi-agent pipeline that translates, votes, reviews and scores before handing anything back. The substance is there, with public pricing, four separate legal documents, a documented REST API on its own developer subdomain, an open-source CLI, and a published subprocessor list that names the AI vendors involved. That last point is rarer than it should be. The reservations are about disclosure rather than the product. No postal address appears anywhere on the site, so the only identity anchor is the company name in the terms, Onesky Technology Pte. Ltd., under Singapore law. The privacy policy and terms in force never mention the GDPR, and the only GDPR material is a blog post that still points at the publisher's former domain and carries a subprocessor list contradicting the current security page. The headline figures, 20% more accurate and over 90% human-like, are published without any methodology. Pricing deserves one caution: the 29 USD entry point is an explicit beta discount against a 49 USD list price with no announced end date, and OneSky openly describes OLA as a beta whose scope may change. Teams that localize continuously and want context, glossaries and quality scoring in one place will find a serious tool here at a low entry cost. Buyers working through a compliance checklist should ask for the DPA and a registered address in writing before they sign.
