Its own jobs page calls it "a useful web agent that performs tasks for you", written by a small team that describes its ambition as "rethinking human-computer interaction in light of AI advancements" and claims leadership experience on GitHub Copilot and on Apple Vision Pro research and development. The publisher is Minion AI, Inc. The site announces three surfaces: a web Playground, an iOS app and a Chrome extension called Minion AI Assistant. On 11 August 2026, only one was verified alive, the web Playground at play.minion.ai, a dark chat interface that opens with "Hi, I'm Minion. How can I help?", takes natural-language instructions and accepts image uploads. The iOS app returns 404 on both the US and Canadian App Stores and yields no result from the iTunes lookup API; the Chrome extension resolves to an untitled store listing with no mention of Minion, and its update endpoint answers HTTP 204. The /start route is unusual, since it is the context the agent reads about itself, listing execution instructions and "user preferred sites" per task type. The bundle also embeds Mozilla Readability and search-result components (Top search results, People also ask, Local results, Directions, Forecast). Authentication runs through Clerk, and the sign-up screen is titled "Request early access", which is a waitlist. One contradiction the site never resolves: its FAQ describes an entirely different product, a business assistant embedded on a customer's own website through a JavaScript snippet or an API. The MinionAI Community Discord, whose invitation was created by the account alexgraveley, is still reachable.

No Article 27 representative is designated, no data protection officer is named, and no right of access, rectification, erasure or portability is described. The publisher, Minion AI, Inc., is a US company with no declared European presence. The only privacy contact published is info@minion.ai: "If you have any questions about this privacy policy, please contact us at info@minion.ai." The single protective clause concerns children: "We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. Who owns the data?
minion.ai publishes no terms of service, so the privacy policy is the only document available, and it never states who owns the data. It describes what the browser extension collects (pages visited, links clicked, form submissions and other interactions) and commits that "We do not sell this information to third parties. We do not share this information with third parties except as necessary to provide our services." It adds that "We do not collect personally identifying data such as passwords, credit cards, government identification numbers, or browser cookies through our services." Ownership, licensing and reuse rights are never addressed, and no contractual text completes the policy.
Reuse rights
The stated purpose is narrow: "Minion AI, Inc. collects information about your web browsing through our browser extension in order to provide our AI assistant services", followed by "We use this information to improve our services and provide you with a better experience." What that improvement covers is never defined, and model training is neither confirmed nor ruled out: a targeted search of the whole site for opt-out, training or retention wording returned nothing at all. Nothing is said about how long the data is kept, which subprocessors handle it, where it is hosted or whether it crosses borders. Because there are no terms of service, the site never sets out what a user may do with the agent's outputs, so reuse rights are simply undefined rather than granted or withheld.
