Overview

What is okkslides?

okkslides is a browser-based presentation generator published by AUTOGENT INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY - L.L.C, which markets it as an AI presentation solution rather than a template gallery. It accepts three kinds of starting point: a written brief, a set of uploaded files, or an existing PowerPoint deck handed over for redesign.

The stated workflow runs in five stages. The assistant first helps clarify the goal and the audience, then ingests reference material and learns from it, drafts an outline the user edits before anything is rendered, produces the slides, and finally exports them. Each of the four entry templates asks for context in its own words: the pitch deck prompt wants to know who is in the room and what the ask is, the research report prompt asks which decision the analysis informs, and the business review prompt asks for the period, the audience and the KPI exports.

Two features carry most of the product's argument. Template-Ready takes a single .pptx upload and reuses its fonts, colours and layouts for every subsequent generation, which is what makes the tool workable inside a company with a fixed brand. Beautify does the reverse: it takes a deck that already exists and rebuilds its layout, visuals and typography without touching the words.

The output is presented as a genuine canvas rather than a locked template. Text, images, charts and tables are editable in place, elements can be scaled, rotated and repositioned freely, and chart data can be edited live. Alongside the manual controls, a conversational agent remains available after generation, so a request to darken the colour scheme or add a revenue chart can be made in ordinary language. okkslides contrasts this explicitly with generators that produce one deck and then fall silent.

Everything runs on an internal credit currency: conversations, content search, text generation, image generation and file processing all draw down credits, and heavier tasks cost more. A public community gallery, a Learn section and a releases page sit alongside the editor, and signed-in users can create API keys with per-minute rate limits. The interface is translated into thirteen languages. There is no mobile application and no browser extension.

What it does

  • Generate a complete slide deck from a plain-language brief
  • Build a deck out of uploaded documents, notes, data or research papers
  • Redesign an existing .pptx while leaving its content untouched
  • Apply your own corporate template to every deck you generate afterwards
  • Edit any element on the canvas: text, images, charts and tables
  • Refine slides by instruction, with the AI agent still available after generation
  • Export a pixel-perfect PowerPoint file

When to use okkslides / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if okkslides is the right fit.

When to use okkslides

  • Consultants and strategy teams who need McKinsey-style decks built from research notes rather than from a blank slide
  • Startup founders assembling investor pitch decks out of traction data and founder notes
  • Corporate teams required to produce every deck inside one fixed brand template
  • Lecturers, teachers and instructional designers turning papers and course material into class-ready slides
  • Anyone sitting on a dated .pptx library who wants the design refreshed without rewriting the content

When not to use okkslides

  • Organisations that need a signed DPA, a subprocessor list or a security certification before onboarding a vendor
  • Teams handling confidential material, since user content feeds model training and no product-level opt-out is documented
  • Buyers who require European data residency, as processing is declared in the United States only
  • Anyone wanting a mobile or offline workflow: okkslides is browser-only, with no app and no browser extension
  • Users who expect to cancel and be reimbursed, because every payment including the current month is final

How to use okkslides

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Create an account with an email address or through Google sign-in, then confirm it
  2. Choose a starting point: describe what you need, upload source files, or upload a .pptx to be redesigned
  3. Optionally upload one of your own .pptx templates so the deck comes out in your brand
  4. Give the assistant context: audience, period, the decision at stake, and attach traction data or KPI exports
  5. Add material from your computer or from a publicly accessible URL
  6. Review and edit the outline the AI drafts before any slide is rendered
  7. Let okkslides generate the deck, then open it on the editing canvas
  8. Adjust elements directly, or type an instruction such as changing the colour scheme or adding a chart
  9. Keep an eye on the credit balance in the top right corner, broken down by free, subscription and pack credits
  10. Export the finished deck as a PowerPoint file

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Three entry points, covering new decks, decks built from documents, and refreshes of old ones
  • Corporate template reuse from a single .pptx upload, unusual at this price level
  • The output is a real editable canvas rather than a locked layout, with live chart data editing
  • The AI agent stays available after generation instead of producing one deck and stopping
  • The credit system is documented in unusual detail, including consumption order and negative balance protection
  • An external API with configurable per-minute quotas comes with ordinary paid accounts
  • Low commitment: a permanent free plan, then USD 11.99 per month with no annual lock-in

Cons

  • The About page is listed in the sitemap but renders completely empty, and no help page is reachable
  • A single mailbox serves support, GDPR requests, legal notices and arbitration opt-outs
  • No refunds of any kind, including the month in progress, and cancellation demands thirty days' notice
  • Subscription credits never roll over, and the Premium allowance shifts with system demand
  • User content trains the vendor's models, with no documented way to opt out
  • No DPA, no subprocessor list and no security certification are published
  • The pricing grid shipped in the front-end code no longer matches the plans actually on sale

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how okkslides handles your data.

GDPR overview

okkslides publishes a substantial GDPR framework rather than a passing mention. A dedicated Notice to European Users covers the EEA and the United Kingdom, Autogent declares itself controller, and a table maps each processing purpose to a legal basis, with AI model training resting on legitimate interests. The seven data subject rights are listed and exercised by email, and complaint routes to the EDPB and the ICO are given. An Article 27 representative is named: Data Protection Representative Limited, trading as DataRep. That designation is defective in practice, since the postal address given for both the EU and the UK representative is in Abu Dhabi and the contact address is the vendor's own mailbox. The policy takes effect on 8 August 2025. The site never writes the words GDPR compliant anywhere.

Who owns the data?

The terms state plainly that Autogent does not claim ownership of user content. What it takes instead is a licence, and the licence is wide: fully paid, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, non-exclusive and fully sublicensable, moral rights included, to use, modify, adapt, distribute, publicly perform and publicly display anything uploaded or generated. Collaborators you invite receive a narrower, revocable licence. The account itself is not yours either, the terms assign all rights in it to Autogent, and they warn there is no expectation of privacy in transmitted content. Nothing obliges Autogent to store that content, and closing an account may delete it outright.

Reuse rights

Users keep full freedom over the decks they produce. Nothing in the terms restricts what they do with generated slides, and export to an editable .pptx file is a core feature rather than a paid extra, so material can be reworked in PowerPoint and reused commercially without asking permission. Two limits apply in the other direction. Anything published to the community gallery becomes visible to other users and to the public, and content pulled in from a linked third-party account stays governed by that service's own terms. The user also warrants that whatever they upload infringes nobody's rights, which places the entire licensing burden on them rather than on the vendor.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Autogent says it keeps personal information for as long as the purpose it was collected for requires, plus whatever is needed for legal, accounting and reporting duties, for defending claims, and for fraud prevention. It lists the criteria it weighs, namely the volume, nature and sensitivity of the data, the risk of harm, the purposes involved and applicable law, but publishes no actual period in days, months or years. Once the data is no longer needed it may be deleted, anonymised, or simply isolated from further processing. Separately, the terms disclaim any obligation to store user content at all, and warn that closing an account may remove the password, the files and every piece of content attached to it. European users can request erasure by email.

Hosting summary

The privacy policy states that Autogent is based in the United States and that using the service necessarily means personal information is accessed and processed there. It adds that data may reach recipients in other countries outside Europe, without naming any of them. For European users the policy is unusually candid: it states that the United States is not covered by an adequacy decision and that its legal regime is therefore not regarded as offering protection equivalent to European law. Where data goes to third parties outside Europe, one of two mechanisms is said to apply, namely transfer to a territory holding an adequacy decision, or appropriate safeguards such as approved standard contractual clauses, with explicit consent as a limited fallback. No hosting provider is named, no data centre location is given, and no data residency option is offered. The domain resolves to a content delivery network edge node, which says nothing about where the data itself is kept.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting okkslides.

  • The content licence is far broader than the service needs: uploading a deck grants a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide and sublicensable right over it, moral rights included
  • Whatever you paste into a slide feeds the vendor's AI models on a legitimate interests basis, with no product setting to opt out, which is a real hazard for draft strategy, unpublished figures or client material
  • Support, GDPR requests, legal notices and arbitration opt-outs all arrive in the same mailbox, so there is no escalation path if it goes unanswered
  • The Article 27 representative is named but given an Abu Dhabi address and the vendor's own email, leaving European users without a working route to an EU representative
  • Payment terms are unforgiving: no refunds at all, cancellation only for future renewals, thirty days' notice required, and unused subscription credits disappear each month
  • The Premium credit allowance is adjusted according to system demand, so the volume you can actually consume is not contractually fixed
  • A deck that looks like a McKinsey document is not a McKinsey analysis: the polish can carry thin reasoning past an audience that would have questioned plainer slides
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Very low for ordinary use. okkslides is a web application with nothing to install: create an account by email or through Google sign-in, confirm it, then describe what you need or drop in a file. The site states that no design skills are required, and a first deck can be generated in a single step. Reusing a corporate template adds one upload. The only part calling for technical comfort is the external API, where you must create a key, choose a per-minute rate limit and an expiry, and read documentation available only once signed in.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does okkslides actually do?
It generates presentations with AI. You can start from a written brief, from documents you upload, or from an existing .pptx deck you want redesigned, and the result is exported as an editable PowerPoint file.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. A permanent free plan gives basic access, a limited allocation of free credits and standard AI models. The cheapest paid plan is Lite Monthly at USD 11.99 per month.
How do credits work?
Credits are the internal currency for every AI action. They are spent in a fixed order: free credits first, then subscription credits, then purchased packs. Subscription credits reset monthly and do not roll over, while free and pack credits never expire.
Can I get a refund?
No. The terms state that all payments are final, including the current month and every credit pack. Cancelling only stops future renewals, and the subscription runs to the end of the period already paid for.
Can okkslides follow my company's brand?
Yes. Upload one .pptx template and the tool reuses its fonts, colours and layouts for every deck you generate afterwards. Several templates can be kept in a personal library.
Is my content used to train the AI?
Yes. The privacy policy states that personal information is used to train the company's AI models, on a legitimate interests basis. No product setting to exclude your data from training is documented anywhere on the site.
Is there an API?
Yes. Signed-in users can create up to ten API keys, each with a rate limit between 1 and 1,000 requests per minute and a configurable expiry. The documentation is only reachable once you are logged in.
Is there a mobile app?
No. okkslides runs in the browser only. There is no iOS or Android application, and no browser extension.
What is the minimum age to sign up?
Sixteen. Both the terms of service and the privacy policy set the threshold at 16 years old.
Where is my data processed?
In the United States. The privacy policy states the company is based there, and openly acknowledges that the United States is not covered by an adequacy decision under the GDPR.
Conclusion

Should you pick okkslides?

okkslides is a working product rather than a landing page with promises attached. Its plans API answered normally on 12 August 2026 with two live subscriptions, the application exposes a full editor, an import and export path for PowerPoint files, a documented credit system and API key management, and the interface has been translated into thirteen languages. Both legal documents are substantial, dated, and name the tool explicitly.

The proposition is genuinely differentiated. Learning a corporate template from a single .pptx upload, rebuilding decks that already exist, and keeping the AI agent available after generation are answers to real complaints about one-shot slide generators. At USD 11.99 a month above a permanent free plan, the entry cost is low and carries no annual commitment.

What is unfinished sits around the product rather than inside it. The About page is empty, no help page is reachable, and a single mailbox handles support, GDPR requests and legal notices. The company describes itself as United States based from a San Francisco mail-forwarding address, while its legal name follows a United Arab Emirates registration pattern and its GDPR representative is given an Abu Dhabi address, which does not work as an Article 27 appointment. The privacy policy is visibly a template, referring to sponsored events and paid affiliate programs that leave no trace on the site.

For individuals, students and small teams building everyday decks, the risk is limited and the value is legible. For any organisation with a procurement process, the absence of a DPA, of a subprocessor list and of any security certification, combined with model training on user content and a perpetual sublicensable content licence, are the points to settle before adoption rather than after.
