GDPR overview
Typo publishes a dedicated GDPR page and repeatedly states that the platform is SOC 2 and GDPR compliant; the pricing comparison lists a "SOC 2 & GDPR Compliant Platform" line on all three plans. The commitments named are concrete: pseudonymisation of employee personal information where possible, encryption in transit and at rest, timely restoration of availability after a physical or technical incident, and regular testing and evaluation of technical and organisational measures. The privacy policy points explicitly at Chapter 3 of the GDPR for data subject rights, routing requests through the customer's Typo administrator and then to hello@typoapp.io. The terms mention a Data Processing Addendum where applicable. No Article 27 representative and no data protection officer are named, standard contractual clauses are never mentioned, and no hosting country is disclosed.
Who owns the data?
Under the terms of service the customer keeps all right, title and interest in its Customer Data. In return the customer grants PeopleMint AI Pvt. Ltd. a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual and royalty-free licence to access, use, process, copy, distribute, export and display that data, limited to three purposes: running and improving the service, handling service, security or technical incidents, and producing anonymised aggregated data. That aggregated data is no longer Customer Data and belongs to Typo, benchmarking and marketing included, and the right survives termination for anonymised data and residual backups. Typo states it works mainly on metadata, never storing the full code base.
Reuse rights
Because ownership never transfers, customers can reuse their own data without asking permission. The platform ships CSV export, downloadable custom reports and a documented Git data export, while the Enterprise plan adds custom APIs and integration webhooks. The MCP server goes further and pushes pull request history, code health and delivery signals straight into Claude Code, Cursor or any MCP-compatible agent, so the data can be consumed outside the dashboard. What cannot be reused is Typo's own material: the terms forbid removing or altering proprietary notices and grant no rights over the platform itself. One asymmetry deserves attention: Typo may use the customer's company name and logo for marketing unless the customer opts out by email.

- Steering by indicators invites optimisation of the indicator rather than the delivered value, especially once goals and alerts are wired to team metrics
- With no postal address, no named contact and exclusive jurisdiction in Delhi, practical recourse in a dispute is limited, and the absence of any disclosed hosting location leaves international transfers undocumented
