Wrangle
Wrangle is an AI sourcing and outbound platform for recruiting teams. It searches over 800 million profiles from a plain-language brief, scores every candidate against it, runs email and LinkedIn sequences, and syncs results into your existing ATS.
What is Wrangle?
Wrangle is an AI sourcing and outbound platform built for recruiting teams. It is published by Wrangle Jobs Inc., a company founded in San Francisco in 2023 by John Crown and Reid Carolan, and it covers the outbound hiring motion from the first brief through to the handoff into an applicant tracking system.
Search sits at the centre. Rather than stacking keyword filters, a recruiter writes the brief in full sentences — background, trajectory, the judgement calls a filter cannot hold — and Wrangle evaluates a talent graph of more than 800 million profiles against every criterion. Each result carries its own evidence: the queries that were run, the sources that were read, and the reasoning behind the score. Company signals appear on every profile, including headcount, funding stage, revenue, open roles and growth indicators. A single search also reaches the team's own LinkedIn network, the connected ATS, previously saved candidates and the live web. Market Mapping applies the same logic to entire talent pools: a competitor's team, a company's former employees, or a whole niche.
Wrangler, the platform's agent, takes a standing brief and reruns it on a schedule, skipping profiles the team has already reviewed and logging every query, source and rejection. It drafts outreach but only stages it; nothing goes out until a recruiter switches the sequence on.
Downstream, Collections behave like a spreadsheet that understands what a candidate is, with stages, custom attributes, notes and bulk actions, while Projects give each role its own workspace. Sequences run across email and LinkedIn, with variables resolved against the live profile and messages sent through the recruiter's connected Google or Outlook mailbox, so replies land in their inbox and stop the sequence automatically. Two-way synchronisation keeps Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever and Recruit CRM as the system of record.
A developer layer exposes the same workspace through a remote MCP server for ChatGPT, Claude or any MCP client, and through a REST API for people search and enrichment, authorised with OAuth and metered in credits. Wrangle also publishes benchmark results with their methodology, reporting 91.1% macro precision on the Exa People Search Benchmark in Deep mode.
What it does
- Search more than 800 million profiles by writing the hiring brief in plain sentences instead of stacking filters
- Read the evidence behind every score: the queries run, the sources read and the reasoning that ranked each candidate
- Map a whole talent pool, such as a competitor's team or a company's former employees, and grade it against your bar
- Run one search across the team's LinkedIn network, the connected ATS, the saved candidate library and the live web
- Send personalised email and LinkedIn sequences from the recruiter's own mailbox and domain
- Delegate a standing brief to an agent that reruns the search on schedule and reports only genuinely new matches
- Push approved candidates into Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever or Recruit CRM with notes and search context attached
When to use Wrangle / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Wrangle is the right fit.
When to use Wrangle
- In-house talent acquisition teams that run outbound sourcing instead of waiting on inbound applications
- Recruiting agencies and executive search firms carrying several client mandates at the same time
- Startup founders and technical leaders hiring their first engineering, product and data people
- Large recruiting organisations that need governance, SSO and SAML, org-wide sharing and an audit trail on every agent run
- Teams that want to keep Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever or Recruit CRM as their system of record and add a sourcing layer on top of it
When not to use Wrangle
- Companies shopping for an applicant tracking system: Wrangle presents itself as a talent CRM and sourcing layer, not an ATS replacement
- Anyone expecting a permanently free tier, since the cheapest plan costs 199 USD per seat per month
- Recruiters who need to work from a phone, as there is no iOS or Android application
- Organisations that require EU data hosting or an independent security certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001
- Teams that cannot connect a Google or Outlook mailbox, because every sequence is sent from the recruiter's own account
How to use Wrangle
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Sign up with a work email and start the free trial; there is no implementation project and no data migration
- Describe the role in full sentences, including background, trajectory and the judgement calls that matter
- Review the scored shortlist, strongest matches first, and open the reasoning attached to each candidate
- Save the candidates worth pursuing into a shared Collection so the team works from one pipeline
- Run email enrichment across the whole Collection in the background and watch the per-row status
- Write the sequence once and let the variables resolve against each candidate's live profile
- Connect a Google or Outlook mailbox, review the drafts, then launch the sequence from your own domain
- Let replies route back to your inbox, where the sequence stops automatically for that candidate
- Push the approved candidates into Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever or Recruit CRM with notes and context
- Optionally hand a standing brief to the agent, or connect an MCP client or API key for programmatic access
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Benchmark results are published with their methodology, query sets and stated limitations, which is uncommon in this category
- Unlimited sourcing, outreach and exports on every plan, with no annual candidate cap and no seat minimum
- Every result and every agent run is auditable: the queries, the sources read and the reasoning are all visible
- Outreach leaves from the recruiter's own mailbox and domain, and nothing is sent until a human enables the sequence
- The ATS stays the system of record, so Wrangle adds a layer instead of forcing a migration
- A detailed public DPA names twenty-one sub-processors and commits to no training of generalised models on customer data
- A full developer layer with a remote MCP server, a REST API, OAuth scopes and credit metering
Cons
- No permanent free plan: the entry point is 199 USD per seat per month
- Monthly credits are capped at 5,000 or 20,000, and enrichment and agent runs pause once they are spent
- LinkedIn outreach, inbound sourcing and all agent models are reserved for the Scale plan, while SSO and SAML require Enterprise
- No iOS or Android application is offered
- No contact page and no full postal address; a single email address covers legal, GDPR and support requests
- No independent security certification is claimed, no Article 27 EU representative is designated, and no EU hosting option is announced
- The Deep, Normal and Turbo benchmark figures come from Wrangle's own evaluation runs rather than a third-party leaderboard
Pricing & Plans
There is no permanent free plan. A free trial is offered on every plan, and the lowest paid entry point is 199.00 USD per seat per month for the Starter plan, or 159.00 USD per seat per month with annual billing. The Scale plan costs 499.00 USD per seat per month, or 399.00 USD with annual billing, and Enterprise pricing is quoted on request from ten seats onwards. Annual commitment reduces the price by 20%. Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance for contact enrichment and agent tool calls, and one-off credit packs can be purchased without changing plan.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Wrangle handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR is addressed concretely rather than by slogan. A dated Data Processing Addendum, last updated on 5 August 2026, is published in full and is incorporated automatically from first use of the service. It commits each party to the data protection laws that apply to it, relies on the European Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers to the United States (Module Two for controller-to-processor, Module Three for processor-to-sub-processor, Irish law and Irish courts), and adds the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and Swiss adjustments. It covers breach notification without undue delay, assistance with data subject requests and impact assessments, one audit per calendar year, and a named list of twenty-one sub-processors with a thirty-day objection window. Two gaps are worth noting: no Article 27 EU representative and no data protection officer is designated, and no independent certification is claimed.
Who owns the data?
The Data Processing Addendum sets the customer as data controller, or as processor where relevant, and Wrangle Jobs Inc. as its processor or sub-processor. Everything loaded into or generated by the workspace counts as Customer Data, and the addendum extends that definition to AI inputs and outputs whenever they contain or derive from customer information. Wrangle processes it only on the customer's documented instructions, does not sell personal information, and acts as a service provider under United States privacy laws. On termination, or on written instruction, the customer's data is returned or deleted, and exports are unlimited on every plan, so the pipeline built inside Wrangle can be taken out again.
Reuse rights
Customers keep the right to use, share and export their workspace freely: unlimited exports are included on every plan, candidates can be pushed to Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever or Recruit CRM, and shortlists can be shared with clients without asking Wrangle for permission. In exchange, the customer carries the legal responsibility: the addendum requires it to hold the rights, notices, consents and lawful bases needed to feed candidate data into the platform, and to configure retention, sharing and outreach accordingly. On the vendor side, use is narrower than the customer's. Wrangle states that it does not train foundation or generalised models on customer data unless the customer signs a separate arrangement, and that Google Workspace API data never feeds model training. Aggregated, de-identified telemetry may be used to operate and improve the service, provided it is not turned back into identifiable customers, users or candidates.

Hosting summary
The Data Processing Addendum states that customer data may be processed in the United States and in other jurisdictions where Wrangle or its sub-processors operate. No European hosting region is offered or announced. Transfers covered by the GDPR, UK GDPR or Swiss law rely on an adequacy decision or the Standard Contractual Clauses, with the UK addendum and Swiss adjustments applied where relevant. The infrastructure is named in the published sub-processor list: Google Cloud Platform and Firebase for storage, database, background processing and logs, Vercel for application hosting and observability, PlanetScale for the managed database, Upstash for caching, queues and temporary workflow state, and turbopuffer for search and retrieval. The domain resolves to an Amazon network node geolocated in the United States. Security measures listed in the addendum include TLS in transit, encryption at rest where the infrastructure providers supply it, role-based access controls, logical separation of customer workspaces, logging and monitoring, and backup and disaster recovery. The privacy policy adds that data is encrypted at rest and in transit and shielded behind an additional authorisation mechanism.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Wrangle.
- Sourcing candidates places the legal burden on the customer: the addendum requires it to hold the rights, notices, consents and lawful bases needed before candidate data ever reaches the platform
- Automated outreach at scale can become impersonal or intrusive; the platform makes volume easy, and only a human review step keeps the messages worth receiving
- Delegating a standing brief to an agent invites over-trust: audit trails only help if someone actually reads them rather than approving whatever the shortlist proposes
- The service is not designed for special category, criminal, health or payment data, yet resumes, notes and interview recordings can easily carry sensitive information
- Recorded and transcribed interviews bring extra sub-processors into scope and require candidate consent that the platform does not collect for you
- Data is processed in the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses, with no announced EU hosting option, which may not satisfy every legal review
- Scoring candidates against a brief can quietly encode bias if the brief itself is biased; the visible reasoning helps, but it does not audit the criteria you wrote
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low for the core workflow. Signing up takes a work email, and the vendor claims a team can be running in about five minutes, with no implementation project and no data migration. The everyday task, describing a role in plain sentences, needs no technical skill at all. Two connections require a little administration: a Google or Outlook mailbox for sending sequences, and the ATS link for synchronisation. The optional developer layer, with OAuth for the MCP server and API keys for the REST endpoints, assumes engineering support, and Enterprise deployments add SSO and SAML configuration with priority onboarding.

Should you pick Wrangle?
Wrangle is a focused product rather than a broad HR suite: it industrialises outbound sourcing and leaves the applicant tracking system in place. That focus is its main strength. The brief-first search, the visible reasoning behind each score, the scheduled agent and the sequences sent from the recruiter's own mailbox form a coherent chain, and two-way synchronisation with Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever and Recruit CRM means nothing has to be re-keyed. The published benchmark methodology deserves credit, even if the Deep, Normal and Turbo figures come from Wrangle's own evaluation runs rather than a third-party leaderboard.
The commercial model is straightforward and quite demanding: 199 USD per seat per month to start, no permanent free plan, and monthly credits that gate enrichment and agent activity. Several capabilities that many teams will consider essential, such as LinkedIn outreach and the full agent model range, sit on the more expensive Scale plan, and governance features such as SSO and SAML require Enterprise.
On data, the posture is more legible than average: a dated and detailed Data Processing Addendum, twenty-one named sub-processors, Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers, and an explicit commitment not to train generalised models on customer data. The gaps are equally clear. Processing is United States based with no announced EU hosting option, no Article 27 EU representative or data protection officer is designated, no independent security certification is claimed, and a single email address serves legal, privacy and support requests. The publisher is also young and small, with two co-founders and no documented funding.
Wrangle suits talent teams and search firms that already run an ATS and want a serious outbound engine on top of it, provided their legal review is comfortable with United States processing and with contractual rather than certified assurances.
