GDPR overview
GDPR is addressed concretely rather than in slogans. The privacy policy, effective 15 May 2026, carries a dedicated section for European Economic Area and United Kingdom residents that sets out four legal bases (contract, legitimate interest, consent, legal obligation) and lists the data subject rights, citing Article 21 by name. A Record of Processing Activities in the sense of Article 30 is maintained and made available to supervisory authorities on request, and the controller is identified by name, address and email. Rights are exercised by writing to support@xtenav.com. Two gaps are worth knowing: no EU representative is designated under Article 27 and no data protection officer is named. All data is transferred to and stored in the United States, and using the service counts as consent to that transfer.
Who owns the data?
The terms and the AI Data Usage Policy leave your projects, drawings and proposals in your hands, and XTEN-AV states it does not transfer or sell personal information to unrelated third parties without consent unless the law requires it. The vendor does, however, reuse operational data. Connection patterns, bill-of-materials entries and proposal settings feed AI training in aggregated, anonymised form. Three categories are excluded outright: personal information about your own clients, confidential dealer or commercial pricing, and uploaded documents such as attachments, contracts, change orders and client proposals. You may request a copy of your personal data in a portable format, or its deletion, by writing to the support address.
Reuse rights
Nothing in the published terms restricts what you do with the drawings, bills of materials, proposals and reports you produce: they are your commercial deliverables and you may send them to clients, print them, export them to AutoCAD or archive them without asking permission. The counterpart is that XTEN-AV takes no responsibility for what the AI produces. The AI Data Usage Policy states plainly that generated output can contain inaccuracies, errors and omissions, that you must review and validate every output before you use, publish or send it, and that uniqueness is not guaranteed. In practice, an AI-drafted schematic or proposal remains a draft that a qualified professional signs off.

Hosting summary
XTEN-AV hosts and processes data in the United States. The privacy policy is explicit: if you are located anywhere outside the United States, the information collected about you, personal information included, is transferred to, processed and stored there, and by using the service you consent to that transfer. It also warns that United States data protection law may differ from your own and that your data may be subject to access requests from American governments, courts or law enforcement. No hosting provider or data centre is named, and no European or regional residency option is offered. The vendor reserves the right to move data elsewhere in the world in future, while stating it does not do so today. On the security side the policy describes servers behind firewalls, encryption of payment transactions under PCI DSS, pseudonymisation, network segregation, access control and staff training, but no independent certification such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 is claimed anywhere on the site.
