Overview

What is YoFont?

YoFont is an AI font generator published by Yo Space LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. Its promise is narrow and explicit: one sentence of plain language, or an uploaded reference image such as a logo, a poster or a photograph of handwriting, and the service drafts a complete typeface, no designer vocabulary required. What sets it apart, on its own account, is multi-script coverage in a single file: nine writing systems - Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic and Hebrew (both right-to-left), Devanagari, Chinese in two tiers of 3,755 and 6,763 GB2312 characters, Japanese and Korean. The site's comparison pages argue that competing generators stop at Latin. The language count is stated inconsistently: 23 on the home page and the FAQ, 19 in llms.txt and on the About page, while the generator's selector shows 21 entries including the two Chinese tiers. Three weights - Thin, Regular and Bold - come from the same prompt, with kerning and ligatures set automatically and one rhythm shared across scripts. The home page figures (31,908 glyphs drawn and kerned per font, under a minute from prompt to finished file, up to 2,682 glyphs per family) are the publisher's own unverifiable claims, as are the About counters: 1,997 fonts generated to date and 1,692 published free in the catalogue. The output is real installable files - TTF, OTF, WOFF, WOFF2 - and the site insists this is neither an image generator nor a Unicode text styler. After generation, the Studio lets every glyph of every weight be regenerated by prompt or adjusted by hand, then rebuilds the file. Three model tiers cost different amounts of glyphs: Epicur (x1, swift), Spinoza (x3, strict harmony), Nietzsche (x5, detail). Billing is measured in glyphs - one glyph is one character in one weight, and a full Latin Bold set is about 95 glyphs. It is equally explicit about what it is not: for hand-drawing each character, the site sends readers to Calligraphr. Around the generator sit a public catalogue with live specimens, CDN-hosted @font-face embedding, a REST API and an MCP server, a Figma plugin, an author programme paying 70% of subscriptions to a font's creator, a 30% referral scheme, and free side tools such as a per-language font coverage checker.

What it does

  • Generate a complete typeface, every glyph and every weight, from one sentence of plain language
  • Generate from a reference image: a logo, a poster or a photograph of handwriting
  • Cover up to nine writing systems in a single font file, from Latin to Arabic, Hebrew and CJK
  • Produce three weights - Thin, Regular and Bold - from the same prompt
  • Edit any glyph of any weight in the Studio, then rebuild the file
  • Export TTF, OTF, WOFF and WOFF2, or embed the font through a CDN-hosted @font-face URL
  • Call generation from Figma, Claude Code, Cursor or Codex CLI, or from the REST API
Audience

When to use YoFont / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if YoFont is the right fit.

When to use YoFont

  • Brand and identity designers who need a bespoke wordmark in an afternoon rather than through a six-week foundry brief
  • Teams building multilingual identities that must hold up in Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic, Hebrew, Devanagari or CJK, not only in Latin
  • Game studios shaping in-world type systems on a schedule that rules out a custom commission
  • Developers working through coding agents: the REST API and the MCP server let Claude Code, Cursor or Codex CLI drop a finished font file straight into a project
  • Web developers and Figma users who want CDN-hosted @font-face URLs and a ready CSS snippet, or the font applied directly to their layers

When not to use YoFont

  • Anyone who needs to own the typeface outright: ownership of every generated font stays with Yo Space LLC, and the user's licence ends with the subscription, including for files already downloaded
  • Users looking for copy-paste Unicode text stylers rather than real installable font files; YoFont hosts those separately, as clearly labelled free tools
  • Designers who want to draw each character by hand: for hand-lettering digitisation the site itself points readers to Calligraphr
  • Free and Starter subscribers with commercial work: neither tier allows commercial use, and the Free plan cannot download font files at all and publishes every font in the public catalogue
  • Anyone under 18, or anyone who needs a mobile app: the terms set an 18-year minimum and there is no iOS or Android application
Get started

How to use YoFont

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Create an account with a one-click Google login or an email address and password; 100 glyphs are credited on sign-up
  2. Describe the font you want in one sentence, or upload a reference image
  3. Pick the languages, the character sets (letters, digits, punctuation, symbols) and the weights
  4. Choose a model tier: Epicur (x1, fastest), Spinoza (x3, reasoning) or Nietzsche (x5, detail)
  5. Generate: the site announces a complete family in roughly one to two minutes
  6. Refine in the Studio: regenerate individual glyphs by prompt or adjust them by hand, test live text, switch weight and rebuild
  7. Download the file in TTF, OTF, WOFF or WOFF2, available from the Starter plan upwards
  8. Embed the font on a website with the CDN-hosted @font-face URLs and the ready-made CSS snippet, or self-host the files
  9. Install the Figma plugin from Figma Community, pair it with a scoped API key approved on yofont.com, then apply the font to your layers
  10. For automation, generate an API key and either call the REST endpoints (POST /api/public/generate, poll GET /api/public/status, then GET /api/public/download) or point an MCP client at the Streamable HTTP endpoint https://yofont.com/api/public/mcp

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Multi-script coverage in a single file, where the competitors tested by the publisher stop at Latin
  • A complete family announced in one to two minutes, from prompt to finished file
  • Genuine glyph-by-glyph editing after generation, with immediate rebuild of the font file
  • Four export formats plus ready-to-embed CDN hosting with a CSS snippet
  • REST API and MCP server included from the Pro plan, with full documentation, quotas and examples
  • Very low entry point: first font free, no credit card, 100 glyphs credited at sign-up, and a Free plan that never expires
  • Legible unit pricing built on the glyph, at a rate that falls with the plan (0.015 / 0.01 / 0.008 USD), with topped-up glyphs that never expire

Cons

  • The user never owns the generated fonts: ownership stays with Yo Space LLC (Terms 5, License Terms 4)
  • The licence ends with the subscription, including for files already downloaded and installed (License Terms 7)
  • After an account is closed, the publisher may publish, sell, modify or transfer the fonts generated, with no remuneration and no attribution (Terms 5.2, License Terms 4.2)
  • The Free plan cannot download font files at all and forces every font public in the catalogue; commercial use starts only at Pro
  • Contractual penalty of up to 5,000 USD or ten times the plan price for sharing or reselling, and no refund outside double charge, fraud or technical error, claimed within 7 days
  • No postal address, no email address and no named founder: the only contact channel is a form; no DPA, no Article 27 EU representative, no DPO, no documented training opt-out, and hosting solely in the United States
  • Internal inconsistencies: the plan table on the License page (Starter, Pro, Studio, Agency, Enterprise) does not match the Plans page (Free, Starter, Pro, Studio), language coverage is quoted as 19 or 23 depending on the page, the announced Chrome extension is unavailable and there is no mobile app

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how YoFont handles your data.

GDPR overview

GDPR handling is documented but partial. The privacy policy (effective 26 August 2026) states its legal bases - contract performance, legal obligation, legitimate interest, consent - and lists rights of access, rectification, erasure, withdrawal of marketing consent, objection and restriction, plus complaints to an EU or UK supervisory authority, the California Privacy Protection Agency or the California Attorney General. Requests are answered within 45 days, 30 under GDPR, after identity verification. Traffic is encrypted, passwords hashed, hosting exclusively United States, with transfers acknowledged. Generated font files are declared not to be personal data (Art. 4(1)) and escape erasure, under Art. 17(3)(b) and (e). Absent: no Article 27 EU representative, no named DPO, no GDPR email address, no DPA. Rights are exercised only through the support form or self-service deletion, and the site never calls itself GDPR compliant.

Who owns the data?

Yo Space LLC owns everything. Under the Terms (section 5) and the License Terms (section 4), the source code, design elements, documentation and all materials generated or uploaded by users - prompts, images, previews and font files - are the exclusive property of Yo Space LLC from the moment of creation. Users acquire no ownership rights: they receive only a limited, revocable licence under their active plan. That ownership survives account closure, deletion, suspension or expiry (5.1 / 4.1), and users waive moral rights, attribution, integrity and any remuneration (5.3 / 4.3). Pre-existing work uploaded as a reference stays the user's, subject to a usage licence granted to Yo Space LLC (5.4 / 4.4).

Reuse rights

YoFont collects account data (email, password hash, social login identifiers), usage data (prompts, generated fonts, metadata, API requests, IP address, browser and device data), payment data handled by Stripe, and support correspondence. The stated purposes are providing and improving the service, security and authentication, billing through third-party providers, transactional messages and, on explicit consent only, marketing. Generated materials may be stored temporarily for technical optimisation and auditing. Three third parties are named: Stripe for payments, SendGrid for transactional email and Cloudflare for CDN and network protection, all described as certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Glyph generation and retouching run through third-party AI image providers, which are never named; they receive the prompt and the reference image for the sole purpose of producing the result, without account identifiers. In the Figma plugin the reference image is sent only on an explicit action, and a reference image passed to the API by URL is not stored. Technical logs (endpoint, plugin version, timestamp, account ID, IP) serve rate limiting, abuse prevention and support, and are stated never to be used for advertising or profiling. On reuse: the user may only use generated fonts within the scope of the active plan, commercial use starting at Pro or through a one-off licence at 5 USD per year per font, and sharing, reselling or redistributing is prohibited. The policy never says whether prompts or fonts train YoFont's own models, and no opt-out is documented.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Account and usage data are kept for as long as the account is active. Deletion is self-service from the profile, confirmed by a six-digit code: the account is frozen for 30 days with a restore link, then erased irreversibly. Verified deletion removes email, name, user ID, password, social login identifiers, author profile and bio, IP addresses, login history, support correspondence, API keys and plugin connections, and any link between identity and records. Responses come within 45 days, 30 for GDPR requests. What survives: generated font files and the technical trace of their creation, presented as non-personal, plus billing records and security logs, with no duration given for either. Author metadata is stripped from retained fonts, and the publisher then decides their fate. Deletion does not reach archives and backups immediately; those are purged on the normal rotation and never restored to production.

Hosting summary

All data is hosted in the United States. The privacy policy states plainly that data is hosted on compliant infrastructure in the United States (section 7), and section 9 adds that information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, use of the service constituting acceptance of that transfer. Cloudflare provides the CDN and network protection; the resolved IP address, 104.21.64.219, is a Cloudflare anycast node located in the United States. Transactional email runs through SendGrid and payments through Stripe, both described, along with Cloudflare, as certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. No European region is offered and there is no data residency option of any kind. The hosting country of the third-party AI image generation providers used for glyph creation is never stated, and those providers are never named. For a European buyer this means US jurisdiction, US infrastructure, no Article 27 representative and no data processing agreement on offer.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting YoFont.

  • Ownership: everything generated belongs to Yo Space LLC, permanently, even after the account is deleted - a brand built on a YoFont typeface rests on an asset its user does not own
  • The usage licence disappears with the subscription: files already downloaded and installed become contractually unusable
  • After the account is closed, the publisher may sell, publish or transfer the generated fonts, owing nothing to the person who commissioned them
  • Contractual penalty announced at up to 5,000 USD or ten times the plan price for sharing or reselling, and generated files may carry hidden licence identifiers
  • The Free plan does not download files and publishes every font in the public catalogue, so the home page promise Download in any format does not apply to it; refunds are limited to three narrow cases, claimed within 7 days
  • No direct contact channel - no email, no postal address, no telephone - hosting exclusively in the United States with no European option, and no documented opt-out from model training on a policy that stays silent on the subject
  • Internal contradictions to keep in mind before relying on the site's claims: 19 versus 23 languages, different plan tables on the Plans and License pages, and the company written Yo Space LLC in the legal documents but YoSpace LLC in the footer and the JSON-LD
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Easy on the web, moderate for automation. The web route needs no technical skill: sign in with Google or an email address, use the generator on the home page, 100 glyphs credited. The Figma plugin installs from Figma Community and is paired with an API key approved in the browser. The MCP route means generating a key and pasting a self-install prompt into Claude Code, Cursor or Codex, or configuring the endpoint manually. The REST API is the hardest: a server-side bearer token, an asynchronous polling loop, and a dedicated download endpoint. API and MCP require Pro or Studio.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What exactly does YoFont produce?
Real, installable font files - TTF, OTF, WOFF and WOFF2 - not images and not Unicode symbols.
How many languages and scripts fit into a single font?
Nine writing systems. The language count depends on the page: up to 23 on the home page and the FAQ, 19 on the About page and in llms.txt, while the generator's own selector lists 21 entries including two Chinese tiers.
Can a single letter be edited after generation?
Yes. Every glyph of every weight can be regenerated from a prompt or adjusted by hand in the Studio, and the font file is then rebuilt.
How long does a generation take?
About a minute according to the home page, under two minutes according to the How it works section. Both figures are the publisher's own claims.
Is it free?
The first font is free, 100 glyphs are credited at sign-up and the Free plan stays at 0 USD forever with 100 glyphs a month. But the Free plan cannot download font files and makes every font public in the catalogue.
Who owns the font that is generated?
Yo Space LLC. The user receives only a limited, revocable licence tied to their active subscription plan.
What happens to the licence if payment stops or the account is deleted?
It ends, including for files already downloaded. A perpetual licence can be negotiated separately before the account is closed.
Can the generated fonts be used commercially?
From the Pro plan upwards, or through a one-off licence at 5 USD per year per font.
Can ChatGPT or Claude create a font?
Not on their own. Through YoFont's MCP server, an agent calls generate_font and gets back a real font file.
Is there a mobile app?
No. Web, API and MCP, and the Figma plugin only; the Chrome extension is announced as coming soon.
Conclusion

Should you pick YoFont?

YoFont occupies a genuinely narrow niche: generating a full typeface across nine writing systems from a single sentence, in one installable file. The technical execution is serious - four export formats, CDN hosting with ready @font-face URLs, a documented REST API, an MCP server usable from Claude Code, Cursor or Codex CLI, and a Figma plugin. Pricing is legible, expressed in glyphs, and the entry point is as low as it gets: the first font is free, no card required, on a free plan that lasts forever rather than a time-limited trial. The dominant reservation is contractual, not technical. Under the Terms and the License Terms, the user never owns what they generate: every prompt, preview and font file is the exclusive property of Yo Space LLC from creation, that ownership survives account closure, and the user holds only a limited, revocable licence tied to an active subscription. Stop paying and the licence ends, including for files already downloaded and installed. After closure, the publisher may publish, sell or transfer those fonts without payment or attribution. Anyone putting a generated typeface into a brand identity should read section 5 of the Terms and sections 4 and 7 of the License Terms before committing. Corporate transparency is thin: no postal address, no email address, no named founder, and a Wyoming LLC written Yo Space LLC in the legal pages but YoSpace LLC in the footer. The product is young - domain registered 25/06/2025, 1,997 fonts generated to date, a logo file still named beta - and its own pages contradict each other on language count and on the plan table. GDPR handling is documented but incomplete: no DPA, no Article 27 representative, United States hosting only. Excellent value for exploration and non-critical work; a careful legal read before anything durable.
