ZoomInfo
ZoomInfo is a B2B go-to-market intelligence platform combining a vast contact and company database, real-time buying intent signals and AI automation, so sales, marketing, RevOps and recruiting teams can find, prioritize and reach the right accounts.
What is ZoomInfo?
ZoomInfo presents itself as the Go-To-Market Intelligence Platform: B2B data, buying signals and AI automation in one system. Its foundation is a database the company claims covers more than 500 million professional contacts, 100 million companies, 135 million phone numbers — 120 million of them direct dials — and 15,000+ tracked technologies, with email accuracy advertised at up to 95%. Records come from the web, specialist third-party suppliers, a contributor network and an in-house research team, then get verified with natural language processing, machine learning and a team of data scientists.
On top of that data sits a set of modules. Copilot is the AI selling agent: it prioritizes accounts dynamically, identifies decision-makers, drafts personalized openers and talking points, writes AI account summaries and syncs the CRM automatically. GTM Workspace unifies CRM records, verified profiles, org charts, intent signals and an activity timeline, and maps buying groups. GTM Studio orchestrates multichannel campaigns from that data, with waterfall enrichment. Chorus adds conversation intelligence — call recording, coaching and market intelligence — while Chat handles website conversations and WebSights identifies visiting companies at account level. Operations cleans, normalizes and enriches records, routes leads automatically and provides governance dashboards. Talent covers candidate sourcing with verified profiles and ATS integration. Data-as-a-Service delivers the same data through APIs, webhooks, flat files and cloud shares with AWS, Google Cloud, Databricks and Snowflake, while ZoomInfo MCP, a ZoomInfo app inside ChatGPT and a headless GTM.AI offering reachable by MCP, API or CLI extend it to the customer's own AI agents.
The publisher is a listed company (NASDAQ: GTM), founded in 2007, headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, with more than 3,000 employees and over 35,000 customers. It claims leadership in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for ABM and the Forrester Wave for intent data, and first place in 30+ G2 categories. Customer results quoted on the site include 39% of pipeline attributed at Seismic, 43% more qualified pipeline at Spekit and sales cycles cut by 30% at MongoDB. The stated audience is enterprise and upper mid-market go-to-market teams.

When to use ZoomInfo / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if ZoomInfo is the right fit.
When to use ZoomInfo
- SDRs and BDRs running outbound at volume, who need verified email addresses, direct dials and mobile numbers rather than guesswork
- Account executives and sales managers working larger deals, who rely on org charts, buying groups, funding data and account-level signals to time their approach
- Demand generation and ABM marketers building target audiences and running intent-driven campaigns across display, LinkedIn, Facebook and Google retargeting
- RevOps, sales operations and data teams responsible for CRM enrichment, data hygiene, lead routing and data governance
- Recruiters and talent sourcers using the ZoomInfo Talent module for verified candidate profiles, hiring signals and ATS integration
When not to use ZoomInfo
- Startups, small businesses and individual reps on a tight budget: the site publishes no price and openly points fast, affordable prospecting towards a competitor
- Buyers who want a self-service purchase, since every package goes through a sales representative and is negotiated case by case
- B2C marketers and consumer-facing businesses, as both the database and the intent signals are strictly business-to-business
- Anyone looking for creative AI: there is no image, video, code or long-form content generation anywhere in the platform
- Teams planning to feed the data into a third-party AI system, which the AI Acceptable Use Policy forbids; the platform is also closed to anyone under 18 and documents no interface language other than English
How to use ZoomInfo

Pros & Cons
Pros
- Depth and volume of the B2B database claimed: 500M+ contacts, 100M+ companies, 120M direct dials
- One integrated platform — data, intent, execution and analytics — instead of a stack of separate tools to reconcile
- Unusually well documented compliance foundation: ISO 27001, ISO 27701, ISO 27017, SOC 2 Type II, TRUSTe validations, a published DPA, a public subprocessor list and an Article 27 representative
- A long list of native integrations with mainstream CRM, marketing automation and sales engagement tools
- Proprietary intent signals refreshed in real time, against weekly third-party data at some competitors according to the vendor's own comparison
- Full programmatic access: APIs, webhooks, Snowflake, Databricks, AWS and Google Cloud shares, plus MCP for AI agents
- Free trial with no credit card, and human onboarding — dedicated onboarding manager, white-glove onboarding, dedicated customer service manager — on the higher tiers
Cons
- No public pricing whatsoever: no amount, no entry-level tier and no currency on the pricing page
- A multi-variable model — licenses plus credits plus add-ons plus integrations — that is hard to forecast before signing
- No permanent free plan is documented; the only free access is a time-limited trial
- Every profile export consumes a credit, including through the integrations and the API
- A mandatory sales conversation: packages, payment terms and minimum credit purchases are negotiated case by case
- The privacy policy lists fine-tuning and training of LLMs and other AI models among the uses of the information collected, and no customer opt-out from model training is documented
- The AI Acceptable Use Policy forbids feeding the data to any external AI system, with 24-hour breach notification and restrictions that survive the contract in perpetuity
Pricing & Plans
ZoomInfo publishes no price. A free trial is available — time-limited, with no credit card required, giving access to core features under quotas — but no permanent free plan is documented anywhere on the site. Beyond the trial, the offer is a SaaS subscription whose cost is set, in the publisher's own words, by the features and functionality selected, the number of licenses and credit usage. Add-ons such as Streaming Intent and certain integrations are billed separately, with a minimum purchase of bundled credits. No amount, no entry-level price and no currency appear on the pricing page, which offers only Get Pricing and View pricing forms: obtaining a figure requires going through a sales representative. Billing frequency is then negotiated with that representative, with payment by card, ACH, wire transfer, EFT or check.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how ZoomInfo handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR compliance is claimed explicitly and backed by concrete evidence. The privacy policy devotes a section to European rights: access, rectification, restriction, portability, erasure and objection. A Data Protection Officer is reachable at privacy@zoominfo.com, and VeraSafe Ireland Ltd. (Cork) acts as the Article 27 representative, contactable by form or on +420 228 881 031. Transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and on certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, its UK extension and the Swiss-US DPF, covering ZoomInfo Technologies LLC and Datanyze LLC. A Data Processing Addendum is published, with clauses governed by Irish law. Unresolved DPF complaints go to JAMS arbitration, with the FTC as supervisory authority and TrustArc/TRUSTe as a prior recourse. Profiled individuals can opt out through the Trust Center, and Global Privacy Control signals are honored automatically.
Who owns the data?
ZoomInfo keeps ownership of everything it supplies. The terms of use state that the Proprietary Materials — the platform, its code, its texts and its content — remain the property of ZoomInfo and its licensors, apart from the limited license granted to you. Content you submit stays yours, but you grant ZoomInfo a worldwide, irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free and sublicensable license to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate, display and distribute that User Generated Content in order to operate, promote and improve the platform. Under the privacy policy, ZoomInfo acts as data controller for the B2B profiles, site visitors and its Contributory Network, and as data processor for data entrusted by customers, framed by a published Data Processing Addendum.
Reuse rights
Access does not create a right to reuse. The terms of use forbid copying, republishing, redistributing, decompiling or commercially exploiting the Proprietary Materials without written consent, and the right of access carries no right to download or store them on another medium. Licensed use runs on credits: one credit is consumed each time a contact or company profile is exported to a CSV file, pushed into a CRM or retrieved through an API call. The AI Acceptable Use Policy adds a hard limit — Licensed Materials, including any derivatives, extracts, summaries or transformations, must never be supplied to an External AI System for training, fine-tuning, model development or knowledge base enhancement. The single exception is an AI system developed, owned and operated exclusively by the customer, hosted on its own infrastructure, accessible only to its own staff and never resold to third parties. Any breach must be notified within 24 hours, and these restrictions survive the end of the contract in perpetuity.

Hosting summary
ZoomInfo hosts and processes data primarily in the United States. Its privacy policy states that personal information may be transferred to, stored and processed in the United States or any other country where ZoomInfo, its affiliates or its subcontractors maintain facilities. The published subprocessor list names Amazon Web Services and Google LLC (both US) as cloud hosts, Wasabi Technologies (US) for storage, and Snowflake and Databricks (US) as data warehouses. A few subprocessors sit elsewhere — Pusher in the United Kingdom, Transloadit in Germany, Adjiva/DeltaX in Singapore — alongside group subsidiaries in Canada, Israel, India, the United Kingdom and Ireland. Transfers out of Europe are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses governed by Irish law, with Irish courts competent, and by certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, its UK extension and the Swiss-US DPF. The terms of use themselves are governed by the law of the State of Washington. Data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.2 minimum in transit, with MFA and SSO available. No EU data residency option appears on the pages collected.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting ZoomInfo.
- ZoomInfo profiles people who never agreed to be listed; depending on the jurisdiction that carries real regulatory and ethical exposure, and each profiled individual has to act alone, through the Trust Center, to get out
- The tool makes mass outreach easy, and the easier prospecting becomes, the faster a sender's reputation, domain and brand can be burned by volume rather than relevance
- The privacy policy names LLM training and fine-tuning among the uses of the information collected, with no documented customer opt-out
- Delegating commercial judgment to an AI score is comfortable: a team can quietly stop looking at accounts the model ranks low, and narrow its own market without noticing
- Data is never perfect — the site itself advertises up to 95% email accuracy, which means a residual error rate that lands in your bounce rate and in your credibility
- The credit model can be consumed without anyone watching, through integrations and API calls as much as through manual exports
- Contract clauses deserve a careful read: user generated content is licensed to ZoomInfo worldwide and irrevocably, the AI Acceptable Use Policy survives the contract in perpetuity, and Chorus records and analyzes calls, with biometric data collected subject to consent
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Easy for everyday use, demanding at the edges. Day to day it is a web application plus a Chrome extension and a mobile app, needing no technical skill: the free trial opens with a form and a work email verification, and CRM and marketing automation integrations are presented as out-of-the-box, with a dedicated or white-glove onboarding manager on the upper tiers. Custom integrations, advanced workflows, the APIs, webhooks and cloud shares do require a technical or RevOps team. Note that installing the ZoomInfo Lite extension as a contact contributor grants access to the user's mailbox.

Should you pick ZoomInfo?
ZoomInfo is a mature product from a listed company of roughly 3,000 employees, founded in 2007 and claiming more than 35,000 customers. Its strength is twofold: the sheer depth of its B2B database — hundreds of millions of contacts, direct dials, org charts, technographics and funding data — and the fact that data, AI and execution live in one platform rather than three. Few vendors document their compliance posture as thoroughly: ISO 27001, 27701 and 27017, SOC 2 Type II, TRUSTe validations, a published DPA, a public subprocessor list, an Article 27 representative in Ireland and Data Privacy Framework certification.
The reservations are just as clear. Pricing is entirely opaque — no amount, no entry tier, no currency — and the credit model is genuinely hard to forecast before signing. Nothing can be bought without a sales conversation. And the privacy policy lists the training and fine-tuning of AI models among the uses of the information collected, with no documented customer opt-out: a point to raise explicitly in negotiation, alongside the AI Acceptable Use Policy, which permanently forbids feeding the data to any external AI system.
The natural fit is what the vendor itself targets: mid-market and enterprise go-to-market teams with the volume, the budget and the operations capacity to make a platform this size pay for itself. ZoomInfo is candid enough to steer startups and individual reps towards cheaper alternatives. If your team runs outbound at scale, already lives in a CRM and needs verified data plus intent in the same place, ZoomInfo belongs on the shortlist — provided you get the pricing, the credit consumption and the AI clauses in writing first.
