Overview

What is Sonnio?

Sonnio is online software for acoustics professionals: it establishes where a room stands acoustically, says what should change, and turns that into a document a client can act on. Everything runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install and nothing to update, and the interface works on a phone, a tablet, a laptop or a desktop. The front end is built in Vue and the service runs on Google Cloud Platform.

The working chain is short. You register clients, projects and rooms, then either enter an acoustic measurement or skip it entirely. The tool analyses the room's current acoustics, returns scores between 0 and 100% together with graphs, and produces an improvement recommendation automatically. A presentation and a PDF report are generated at the end, ready to be attached to a quotation, and the whole sequence is fast enough to run during a client meeting.

Two editions are sold. sonnio FLEX covers the assessment side: current acoustics, ideal acoustics, automatic recommendation, generated report and PDF export. sonnio PRO adds the commercial layer, putting your own products into the recommendation alongside a library of generic interior elements such as chairs, curtains and floor coverings, recalculating the improvement achieved with those products in real time, allowing several product combinations to be compared as scenarios, and opening an expert mode with graphs and absorption values. Both editions can be skinned OEM-style with the customer's logo, colours and texts.

Behind both sits sonnio IQ, a central database of advice values, methods and room properties. The publisher reports more than 250,000 data points, with 261 acoustic characteristics recorded automatically for every room. Each new room measured extends that base in anonymised form, and periodic machine learning over it refines the advice values. This is what lets the software predict the acoustics of an untreated room, so an acoustic measurement is not always necessary.

The publisher's own account of its history: the software has been in use since 2019, originally built by Rivasono for its own work, and has been housed in Sonnio BV since August 2022, with more than 2,000 analyses, recommendations and projects handled. The limits deserve stating plainly: the marketing site is Dutch only, no price is published, no API is documented, and the publisher puts neither a privacy policy nor terms of service online.

What it does

  • Analyse the current acoustics of a room and score it from 0 to 100%
  • Generate a professional acoustic improvement recommendation automatically
  • Predict how a room sounds using AI, without taking an acoustic measurement
  • Price the improvement in real time using your own product catalogue
  • Compare several product-combination scenarios for the same room
  • Produce a presentation and a PDF report to attach to a quotation
  • Share clients, projects and rooms across a team, wherever its members are working
Audience

When to use Sonnio / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if Sonnio is the right fit.

When to use Sonnio

  • Acoustic solution companies, manufacturers, resellers and agents who advise on and sell acoustic products, and need the improvement priced with their own catalogue while the client is still in the room.
  • Interior fit-out companies and project furnishers that need to judge how a room sounds today and show the client what its ideal acoustics would be.
  • Architects, interior architects and stylists who want an acoustic score and a defensible improvement recommendation without commissioning a separate acoustic study.
  • Independent acoustic consultants working room by room, who would rather have presentations and reports generated than assemble them by hand.
  • Small teams onboarding new staff, where a newcomer is expected to produce a qualified acoustic recommendation from the first day on the job.

When not to use Sonnio

  • Buyers who need to compare prices before speaking to a salesperson: no rate card is published anywhere, and the site's own pricing link is dead.
  • Organisations whose procurement requires a privacy policy, terms of service or a data processing agreement before an evaluation can even start, since none of these documents exists.
  • Teams that need the tool wired into an ERP or a CRM: no API is documented, on the website or inside the application.
  • Engineers working on product acoustics, industrial noise control or occupational noise exposure, none of which the tool addresses; it is built for room acoustics.
  • Evaluators who expect a native mobile app or an English-language marketing site: the software is browser-only, and the public site is written entirely in Dutch.

How to use Sonnio

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Book a free demonstration through the contact page: the publisher comes to you and walks through the software, since there is no self-service trial
  2. Open the application in any browser at app.sonnio.com and sign in; there is nothing to install and no update to apply
  3. Register your clients, your projects and the individual rooms you are working on
  4. Enter an acoustic measurement for the room, or skip the measurement and let sonnio IQ predict how the room sounds
  5. Read the automatic analysis of the room's current acoustics, scored from 0 to 100% and shown as graphs
  6. Review the improvement recommendation that the tool generates automatically
  7. In sonnio PRO, add your own products to the recommendation and watch the improvement recalculate in real time
  8. Compare several product combinations as separate scenarios, and open expert mode for graphs and absorption values
  9. Generate the presentation and the report, then export the PDF and attach it to your quotation
  10. Hand work over between colleagues: one person surveys the room on site, another finishes the recommendation from the office

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • The recommendation is automated and priced in real time, so it can be built, shown and discussed during the client meeting itself
  • AI prediction keeps a credible recommendation possible when no acoustic measurement has been taken
  • The shared sonnio IQ database grows with every project handled: more than 250,000 data points and 261 characteristics recorded per room
  • Presentations and reports are generated automatically and export to PDF, ready to accompany a quotation
  • A new colleague can produce a qualified-looking recommendation quickly, which shortens onboarding in a specialised trade
  • Nothing to install or maintain, full OEM branding in the customer's own identity, and the same browser app on phone, tablet and desktop
  • Stored data sits on servers in the EU under EU law, and the application interface is available in English, Dutch and French

Cons

  • No price is published anywhere: the pricing link in the footer returns a 404 on every page, and no amount appears on the site or inside the application
  • No privacy policy, no terms of service and no cookie notice are published at all
  • GDPR compliance is never claimed, no data processing agreement is offered, and no sub-processor list exists
  • Every project feeds the shared training database, yet no way to keep your data out of it is documented
  • No certification such as ISO, SOC 2 or NEN is claimed anywhere
  • The marketing site exists in Dutch only, with no English version, and no API is documented for connecting the tool to other systems
  • No social accounts, no named customer references and no published case studies; the only volume figure given is a modest and vague 'more than 2,000 analyses'
Pricing

Pricing & Plans

No price is published. Sonnio BV displays no amount on its website: the single pricing link carried in the footer of all six pages returns a 404 error, and no rate card appears inside the application either. No permanent free plan is announced, and no free trial of the software is offered. Two commercial editions are named, sonnio FLEX and sonnio PRO, but neither carries a figure. The only route to a price is the demonstration appointment arranged through the contact page.

sonnio FLEX — for assessing where a room stands acoustically and what its ideal acoustics would be
  • client
  • project and room records
  • entry of an acoustic measurement
  • automatic analysis
  • automatic improvement recommendation
  • scores from 0 to 100% displayed directly
  • generated report and PDF export.
sonnio PRO - for advising on and selling acoustic products
  • everything in sonnio FLEX
  • plus your own products inside the recommendation
  • a library of generic interior elements
  • real-time calculation of the improvement achieved with those products
  • several product-combination scenarios
  • and an expert mode with graphs and absorption values.
Prices and plans listed above may evolve. Always check the official pricing page before subscribing.
Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how Sonnio handles your data.

GDPR overview

There is no GDPR statement of any kind. The six pages of the website carry no privacy policy, no terms of service and no cookie notice, and the words GDPR and AVG appear nowhere on the site. No data processing agreement, no Article 27 representative, no data protection officer and no sub-processor list are published, and no certification such as ISO or SOC 2 is claimed. The single GDPR-adjacent element is a technical sentence stating that the data sonnio stores is held on servers in the EU, under EU legislation. The publisher itself is EU-established: Sonnio BV, Woerden, Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under KvK 87160994. That establishment brings the regulation into play, but the company's actual compliance posture is simply not documented in public and would have to be established contractually.

Who owns the data?

No contract settles ownership. Sonnio BV publishes neither terms of service nor a privacy policy, so nothing states who owns the client records, room measurements, recommendations and reports created in the tool. What the publisher does say is technical rather than legal: nothing is stored locally on the device, sonnio runs in its own secured environment with no open connection to the customer's IT system, and the data it stores sits on servers in the EU, under EU law. Separately, the acoustic data of every room measured feeds the shared sonnio IQ database in what the publisher describes as anonymised form. Ownership of that collective asset is nowhere addressed, and no document says what the publisher may do with it.

Reuse rights

With no terms of service in existence, nothing tells the end user what they may do with the output, and nothing restricts them either. In practice the tool is built for commercial reuse: the analysis, the improvement recommendation, the presentation and the PDF report are meant to be exported and attached to a quotation, and in sonnio PRO the recommendation is priced with the user's own product catalogue and their own branding. On the publisher's side, the declared uses are the room analysis itself, the enrichment of the shared sonnio IQ database with anonymised technical data, and periodic machine learning over the 261 characteristics recorded per room, used to refine the advice values and to predict the acoustics of untreated rooms. No published document limits any of those uses, and no opt-out is described.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
No retention period is published. With no privacy policy and no terms of service anywhere on the site, nothing states how long client records, room measurements, recommendations or reports are kept, and no deletion or anonymisation procedure is described. What the publisher does say is narrower: nothing is stored locally on your devices, and stored data sits on servers in the EU under EU law. The shared sonnio IQ database is presented as cumulative and open-ended, growing with every new room analysed and periodically re-analysed by machine learning, which implies that the anonymised room data contributed to it is kept indefinitely. Anyone with a retention requirement will have to obtain it contractually from Sonnio BV, because nothing published answers the question.

Hosting summary

The publisher states that the data sonnio stores is held on servers in the EU, under EU legislation. The infrastructure is Google Cloud Platform, described on the product pages as Google cloud services in the EU, and the software is presented as running entirely in the cloud. No specific hosting country is ever named: the claim stops at the EU region, and no data centre, region code or sub-processor list is published. Alongside this, the publisher says connections are encrypted, security updates are applied automatically, no data is stored locally on the device, and the software runs in an isolated environment with no open connection to the customer's own IT systems. One caution for readers who check for themselves: the marketing site's resolved IP address geolocates to the United States, but it belongs to an anycast content delivery network and says nothing about where the data itself is held. No data processing agreement, no sub-processor disclosure and no certification accompany these statements, which are therefore marketing claims rather than contractual commitments.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Sonnio.

  • Every room you measure enriches sonnio IQ, a shared asset that all other users benefit from; the publisher calls the data anonymised but documents neither the anonymisation nor any way to keep your projects out of it.
  • There is no privacy policy, no terms of service and no cookie notice, so every guarantee about your clients' data has to be obtained contractually before anything is deployed.
  • A predicted acoustic result is convenient and easy to over-trust: a recommendation produced in seconds still commits you commercially to the client who receives it, and the automation can quietly erode the acoustic judgement of the people using it.
  • The free demo is a demonstration performed by the publisher at an appointment, not free access to the software, so the tool cannot be evaluated unsupervised before a purchase.
  • The pricing link in the footer returns a 404 on every page, which leaves a buyer with no budget signal at all before the sales conversation.
  • The footer also points to a HubSpot preview domain rather than the canonical website, an internal URL leaking onto public pages.
  • Four people are named on the team page; heavy dependence on a very small publisher is a continuity risk once the tool sits inside your sales process.
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low. There is nothing to install and nothing to update: the software runs entirely in the browser behind a login, and needs no connection to your own IT systems. What remains is content rather than engineering, namely uploading and maintaining your product catalogue and setting the OEM branding of logo, colours and texts. Onboarding is guided, since the publisher performs the demonstration on site. Note that no public technical documentation and no API exist, so any configuration beyond the standard interface goes through the publisher rather than through your own developers.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does sonnio do?
It analyses the acoustics of a room, generates a professional improvement recommendation automatically, and lets the user price that improvement with the acoustic products they sell. The result is exported as a presentation and a PDF report that can be attached to a quotation.
Do I have to install anything?
No. Sonnio runs entirely in the browser, on a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop, with nothing to install and no updates to apply. The application interface is available in English, Dutch and French, although the public website is in Dutch only.
What is the difference between sonnio FLEX and sonnio PRO?
sonnio FLEX analyses the current and ideal acoustics of a room and produces the improvement recommendation and report. sonnio PRO adds the selling side: your own products in the recommendation, a library of interior elements, real-time recalculation, several product-combination scenarios, and an expert mode with graphs and absorption values.
Do I need an acoustic measurement to use it?
Not necessarily. A measurement can be entered, but the publisher states that sonnio IQ can reliably predict a room's acoustics, so an acoustic measurement is not always required.
What is sonnio IQ?
It is the central database behind the software: advice values, methods and room properties, reported at more than 250,000 data points, with 261 acoustic characteristics automatically recorded for every room. Every new room measured through the tool extends it, and periodic machine learning over that base refines the advice.
Is my data used to train the model?
Yes. The publisher states that every room analysed enriches the shared sonnio IQ database, in what it describes as anonymised form, and that machine learning over that database makes the software steadily smarter. No opt-out is documented, and no document explains how the anonymisation is performed.
Where is my data hosted?
The publisher states that stored data sits on servers in the EU, under EU legislation, on Google Cloud Platform. No specific country or data centre is named, connections are described as encrypted, and no data is kept locally on the device.
How much does sonnio cost?
No price is published. The only pricing link on the site returns a 404 error, and no amount appears on any page or inside the application. A price has to be obtained directly from the publisher, through the demonstration appointment.
Is there a free trial?
No. The free demo advertised on the site is a demonstration performed by the publisher, who travels to you by appointment. It is not free access to the software, and no self-service account can be opened from the website.
Is there an API or a mobile app?
Neither is offered. No API documentation exists on the site or inside the application, and there is no native mobile app in any app store: the tool is used strictly through a browser, which does work on phones and tablets.
Conclusion

Should you pick Sonnio?

Sonnio is a niche tool, and unapologetically so. It serves one trade, advising on and selling room acoustic solutions, and it serves it end to end, from the measurement, or the absence of one, to the PDF report attached to the quotation. Its genuine differentiator is sonnio IQ: a shared database of more than 250,000 data points, 261 characteristics captured per room, and machine learning that lets the software predict how a room sounds rather than requiring it to be measured. For a fit-out company or a reseller of acoustic products, that shortens the path between a site visit and a priced proposal considerably, and it lets a new colleague contribute early.

The counterweight is documentary opacity, and it is total. No price is published, and the footer's own pricing link is dead. No privacy policy, no terms of service, no cookie notice, no data processing agreement, no sub-processor list, no certification. The publisher states that every room measured enriches the shared database in anonymised form, yet offers no documented way to opt out and no explanation of how the anonymisation works. For a European buyer that combination is a diligence item rather than a detail: the guarantees have to be obtained contractually, because they do not exist publicly.

The publisher is small and recent as an independent entity. By its own published account, the software has been in use since 2019, originally developed by Rivasono for its own work, and has been housed in Sonnio BV since August 2022; four people are named on the team page. Evaluation is only possible through the demonstration appointment, since there is no self-service trial. Worth a conversation if room acoustics is your business, and worth a firm contract before any client data goes in.
