elv.ai
elv.ai combines a custom AI model with native-speaking human moderators to hide hate comments, scams and misinformation under Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Disqus posts, then turns the same comment stream into audience sentiment insights.
What is elv.ai?
elv.ai is a comment moderation platform for social media, built around a custom AI classifier that works alongside human moderators who are native speakers of the language they review. It watches the comment threads under a brand's posts and advertisements around the clock, hides what breaks the rules, and hands the borderline cases to a person. The published workflow is explicit: the AI hides a harmful comment on its own when it is at least 95% confident, and anything below that threshold is flagged for human review. A separate team re-reads what the AI has already hidden. The vendor states that roughly 80% of harmful comments are hidden automatically and claims 95% accuracy once human oversight is counted.
What counts as harmful is not left implicit. elv.ai publishes its moderation guidelines, derived from Meta's community guidelines and from the EU Digital Services Act, covering five families: vulgarity, insults, violence, hoaxes and misinformation, and scams or fraud. The company also states a deliberate bias towards leniency — if we are not sure of our decision, or if we think the comment is on the edge, we always prefer to approve it. Moderation covers text, images, video, GIFs, links, stickers and emojis, and brands can add their own blocked keywords.
Beyond hiding comments, the product does two more things. It centralises every comment from every connected account into a single inbox, auto-likes positive comments by keyword or sentiment, stores reusable reply templates, and — on the top tier — has human moderators draft replies for approval. And it analyses the same comment stream for audience sentiment, ranking posts and topics by reach and engagement and alerting on emotional spikes, a feature developed with CulturePulse.
Coverage is deliberately narrow: YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Disqus, in English, Spanish, German, Polish, Czech and Slovak. TikTok is not supported. The tool is a web application on app.elv.ai with no mobile app. The company grew out of Elfovia.sk, a corporate social responsibility project launched in March 2022, and was incorporated in Slovakia in June 2023. It cites CNN Prima NEWS, TV Markíza, Forbes and the European Commission Representation in Slovakia among its clients.

- Add brand-specific keywords that should also be blocked
- Let the AI hide harmful comments continuously, at 95% confidence or above
- Leave lower-confidence comments to native-speaking human moderators for review
- Work the unified inbox to unhide, like and reply to comments from every account
- Set the keywords and emotions that should trigger an alert
- Save frequently used replies as templates, or have moderators draft replies to approve
- Review sentiment reports and the watchlist, then export or block repeat offenders

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how elv.ai handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR implementation is concrete and documented. The privacy policy, last updated 12 August 2024, states it was created in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and Slovak Act No. 18/2018 Coll. An external data protection officer is appointed — Law&Tech s.r.o., Roosweltova 809/22, 040 11 Košice — reachable at dpo@elv.ai. The eight data subject rights are listed, with the Slovak Office for Personal Data Protection named as supervisory authority. Legal bases are identified article by article: contract, legitimate interest, legal obligation and consent. A Personal Data Processing Agreement forms an integral part of the contract, and elv.ai distinguishes where it acts as controller from where it acts as processor for its clients. The policy confirms no automated individual decision-making or profiling of data subjects.
Who owns the data?
The customer keeps ownership of its Content but grants elv.ai a licence over it. elv.ai remains the owner of the Software and the Service, and explicitly of any information derived from anonymised customer Content. The licence may be sub-licensed to third parties cooperating with the provider. A customer may request deletion of its Content by email to support@elv.ai, but where personal data cannot be separated from the Content, the terms state that elv.ai anonymises it and continues to use it for its own purposes. That right to use anonymised Content — including for AI model training, research and analytics — remains valid and effective after the agreement ends.
Reuse rights
The customer may use the Service and its outputs for its own business under the licence granted, but may not copy, reproduce, distribute, translate or create derivative works from the Website, Software or Service, nor adapt them to its own needs. The customer cannot reuse elv.ai's software or service materials without permission. In the other direction the terms are broad: elv.ai may use anonymised customer Content for delivering and improving the Service, AI model training, research, and statistical and analytical purposes, and may sub-license that use. No opt-out from this training is offered or documented anywhere on the site.

Hosting summary
elv.ai names no hosting country and no hosting provider anywhere on its site. The privacy policy states only that the company tries to process personal data mainly within the EU, while expressly reserving the right to process some data — such as name, surname and email — through systems and storage operated by processors outside the European Union. Where it does so, it says it verifies that those processors fall under a European Commission adequacy decision, citing the EU-US Privacy Shield as its example, a framework that has been invalid since 2020. Recipients are described by category rather than by name: external accounting and tax advisers, web hosting and server or data storage management companies, legal representatives, and software and technical support providers. The company notes these may change. Google LLC and Facebook Ireland Limited are named, but only as marketing cookie intermediaries. The jurisdiction governing the contract is Slovak law, and the vendor is established in Žilina, Slovakia.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting elv.ai.
- The terms let elv.ai train AI models on anonymised customer Content, and that licence survives termination; requesting deletion does not end it, since the vendor may anonymise and keep using the material. No opt-out is offered.
- The privacy policy still invokes the EU-US Privacy Shield to justify transfers outside the EU, a framework invalidated in 2020, and reserves the right to process some data outside the Union.
- The pricing page opens on the annual view by default, so a hurried reader sees €254 when the monthly rate is €289; the page's own SEO metadata still describes an obsolete tier list with a €79 Starter plan.
- The privacy policy contradicts itself on the vendor's own legal form, naming elv.ai, j. s. a. in its introduction and elv.ai, s. r. o. in section 1; the commercial register and VIES both confirm j. s. a.
- Delegating moderation invites over-reliance: a team that stops reading its own comments loses the early signal of a reputational problem, and the 95% confidence threshold means a residue of harmful comments always survives while some legitimate speech is hidden.
- Performance claims are the vendor's own and unaudited, and the site is not consistent with itself: 95% accuracy on the homepage against 80% of harmful comments hidden automatically on the product page.
- No security certification of any kind is claimed, no hosting country or provider is named, and no list of subprocessors is published — only generic categories of recipients.
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low. Setup is self-service and requires no installation, no code and no developer: create an account on app.elv.ai, connect the social accounts, and pick the categories of comments to hide. Optional refinements — brand keywords, alert emotions, reply templates — are configuration, not engineering. Custom onboarding and priority support are reserved for the Enterprise tier. The one caveat is that no public technical documentation exists, so any integration beyond the standard account connections cannot be scoped in advance.

Should you pick elv.ai?
elv.ai occupies a narrow but genuinely defensible niche. Its differentiator is not the AI — plenty of tools filter comments — but the deliberate refusal to let the AI decide alone. Everything below 95% confidence goes to a native-speaking human, and a second team re-reads what the machine already hid. One reference customer switched precisely because an AI-only product kept letting hate speech through. Publishing the moderation rules, anchoring them in the DSA, and stating a bias towards approving borderline comments are the marks of a vendor that has thought about the cost of over-blocking.
The limits are equally clear. Four platforms only, and TikTok is absent — the vendor's own comparison table concedes it to a competitor. Six languages, weighted towards Central Europe. No mobile app, no security certification of any kind, and no named hosting country. The entry paid tier is €289 per month, which rules out small accounts; the free tier is labelled a trial in both languages of the site, and the site gives three different answers about how long it lasts.
Two points deserve a buyer's attention. The terms grant elv.ai a licence to use anonymised customer Content for AI model training, and that licence explicitly survives termination; asking for deletion does not end it, because the vendor anonymises and keeps using the material. And the privacy policy still invokes the EU-US Privacy Shield, a framework struck down in 2020.
For a media outlet or public institution drowning in comments in a Central European language, the case is strong and the references are checkable. For anyone needing TikTok, a low entry price, or a contractual no-training guarantee, it is not the right fit.
