Manifest AI
Manifest AI is a GPT-powered shopping assistant and AI agent platform for Shopify stores. It trains itself on your catalogue, answers shopper questions, recommends products, runs discovery quizzes, and handles order tracking, returns and refunds.
What is Manifest AI?
Manifest AI is an AI shopping assistant and agent platform for online stores, published by Bikayi Inc. from Palo Alto, California. It sits on top of an existing storefront rather than replacing it: the assistant shows up as chat, product-page widgets, embedded agents, quizzes and nudges, and it installs as an app from the Shopify App Store.
The homepage frames the product as 500+ eCommerce AI agents plus a no-code studio for building your own. Four archetypes illustrate the range: a selling agent that pairs items, triggers quizzes and slides in a coupon before a drop-off; a support agent that answers product questions and tracks orders, returns and shipping; a marketing agent that watches every add-to-cart and reports AI-influenced revenue and CSAT; and a training agent that keeps the others - and ChatGPT itself - current on the brand. Elsewhere the site counts 100+ pre-built commerce agents across retention, acquisition and support. In the studio you either pick one or define your own by giving it a goal, success criteria and instructions.
Underneath sits what the company calls an Agentic AI Engine, described as automating 99% of shopping conversations and handing the rest to a human. Named agents carry their own claims: a size guide agent said to cut returns by 40%, a recipe recommender said to lift session duration by 200%, and an Amazon Rufus-style discovery agent said to reduce drop-offs by 30%. Storefront features include a fit predictor, AI trivia, review summaries with overall sentiment, and conversation starters drawn from purchase history.
Training is automatic. On install the app imports products, collections, policy pages and articles, and PDFs or custom files can be added. The FAQ names GPT 3.5, GPT-4 and GPT-4o, and OpenAI appears on the published subprocessor list. Built-in CRO tooling lets teams A/B test quizzes, embeds and product-page widgets without a developer. The wider range covers AI Support, Nudges, Quiz, Search, Shopping, Embed, Email and Instagram agents, tool-calling workflows and Voice of Shoppers, with human handover through Gorgias and Zendesk. The Shopify listing, live since 9 June 2023, rates 4.8 out of 5 across 53 reviews.

When to use Manifest AI / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Manifest AI is the right fit.
When to use Manifest AI
- Shopify merchants who want an AI assistant live on their storefront without writing code
- Support teams buried under repetitive order-tracking, returns and shipping tickets
- Brands whose products need guidance to choose: sizing and fit, recipes, or large catalogues
- CRO and growth teams that want to A/B test AI placements and measure conversion influence
- Multilingual stores serving shoppers well beyond English
When not to use Manifest AI
- Teams that need a public API or developer documentation to build their own integration
- Buyers who need a published price list before they will talk to a salesperson
- Merchants outside Shopify who expect a self-service setup rather than an assisted one
- Organisations that must keep customer data out of AI model training, since no opt-out is documented
- Businesses requiring EU data residency, or handling protected health information
How to use Manifest AI
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Install the app from its Shopify App Store listing, "Manifest AI Chatbot + ChatGPT"
- Let it import your products, collections, policy pages and articles; training runs automatically
- Set the assistant's look and personality from the dashboard so it matches your brand voice
- Upload PDFs or custom data files to cover what the catalogue does not answer
- Pick pre-built agents, or build your own in the studio with a goal, success criteria and instructions
- Configure handover to Gorgias, Zendesk, email, live chat or WhatsApp
- Test on the store first: the help centre separates testing on the website from publishing
- Take the assistant live, then audit and improve its answers using the help centre workflow
- A/B test placements - quizzes, embeds, product-page widgets - and read the built-in analytics
- If you are not on Shopify, contact the team: integration is assisted rather than self-service
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Installs as a Shopify app with no code; the FAQ claims under five minutes
- Trains itself on the store's own data, so there is no knowledge base to build
- Covers pre-purchase discovery and post-purchase support in a single tool
- Hands over to the helpdesks brands already run instead of replacing them
- Permanent free plan on the Shopify App Store, plus an advertised 30-day trial
- Complete public legal corpus: terms, both privacy notices, subscription agreement, DPA and a named subprocessor list
- SOC 2 Type 2 declared since 2023, and a structured agency, tech and affiliate partner programme
Cons
- No public paid pricing: there is no pricing page, and quotes come from a sales call
- No public API and no developer documentation
- No iOS or Android application
- Customer data trains the publisher's and its providers' models, with no documented opt-out
- Hosting can only be inferred from subprocessor locations (United States, India); no EU option
- No Article 27 EU representative and no named DPO; one address covers support, legal and privacy
- The legal corpus contradicts itself: the older terms page sets the minimum age at 13 against 18 elsewhere, and the trial is advertised at both 30 and 14 days
Pricing & Plans
A permanent free plan is available. The Shopify App Store listing shows a single published tier, "Free to test", at no cost, bundling the AI chatbot, product recommendations, AI training, cart and checkout recovery, lead collection and a dedicated AI expert. No paid price point is published: the listing states only that all charges are billed in USD, and its "see all pricing options" link routes to the vendor's demo form, where the site promises tailored pricing during the call. A free trial is advertised at 30 days on the homepage and in the footer, though the homepage FAQ mentions 14 days. Under the subscription agreement, fees are non-refundable, plans cannot be downgraded mid-term, and prices may rise after the initial term on 60 days' notice.
- the only published tier
- listed on the Shopify App Store as "Free to test" at no cost
- they exist under the Master Subscription Agreement
- on monthly or annual terms that renew automatically
- but no price is published
- quotes are given on a sales call
- advertised at 30 days on the homepage and footer
- and at 14 days in the homepage FAQ
Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Manifest AI handles your data.
GDPR overview
Implementation is documented rather than merely asserted, although the site never uses the phrase "GDPR compliant". Bikayi Inc. publishes a separate EU Privacy Notice covering the EEA, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, naming itself controller, plus a full Data Processing Agreement that commits it to Applicable Privacy Law - defined to include the GDPR - with European Commission standard contractual clauses and a UK Addendum for transfers. The EU notice sets out access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, consent withdrawal and the right to complain to a supervisory authority, confirms there is no Article 22 automated decision-making, and describes identity verification before a request is answered. Two gaps stand out: no Article 27 EU representative is designated and no data protection officer is named. Privacy questions go to a single address, support@getmanifest.ai, or by post to the legal department in Palo Alto.
Who owns the data?
Under the Master Subscription Agreement, the customer and its licensors keep all right, title and interest in Customer Data. Manifest AI receives only a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence for the term of the contract, strictly to deliver the service, and is expressly prohibited from selling Customer Data. Ownership splits elsewhere: the Manifest AI Technology, Usage Data and Aggregate Data belong to the publisher, and any feedback you send is treated as non-confidential under a perpetual, irrevocable licence. The Data Processing Agreement adds that Bikayi Inc. does not sell personal data or disclose it for cross-context behavioural advertising, acting as processor for shopper data and as controller for its own client records.
Reuse rights
Reuse rights run in the publisher's favour rather than the customer's. The Master Subscription Agreement lets Manifest AI use information gathered while delivering the service - Customer Data, Feedback and Usage Data - to build and improve its own machine learning models and those of its third-party providers, without compensation. Usage Data such as query logs also feeds product development and support, and aggregated, non-identifying data may be used and shared at the publisher's discretion during and after the contract. No opt-out from model training is documented anywhere on the site. The customer, for its part, keeps its own data and can retrieve it for 45 days after termination; processing otherwise stays limited to the customer's instructions and to the purpose of providing the service.

Hosting summary
Bikayi Inc. does not publish a hosting jurisdiction as such; what it publishes is a subprocessor list, and every entry on it carries the same location, "United States, India". That covers the two infrastructure providers, Google Cloud Platform and AWS, alongside Meta as a channel partner and a set of feature-specific services: Google Workspace and Analytics, OpenAI, Sentry, Stripe, Shopify, Razorpay, Openphone, Sendgrid and Infobip. The privacy notice adds that personal information may be processed and stored both inside the United States and overseas, with transfers out of the European Economic Area covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Security measures are set out in the technical annex of the data processing agreement: logical data segregation, role-based access, industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, and physical controls over data centres and server rooms. Bikayi Inc. states it has been SOC 2 Type 2 compliant since 2023. No EU hosting region and no data-residency option are offered, so a buyer with a European residency requirement will not find one here.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Manifest AI.
- Your customer data trains the vendor's and its providers' AI models, and no opt-out is documented anywhere on the site
- Usage data and aggregated data belong to the publisher, which may use and share them at its discretion during and after the contract
- Customer data stays retrievable for only 45 days after the contract ends, and only if you ask
- Fees are non-refundable, plans cannot be downgraded mid-term, and terms renew automatically unless notice is given
- Prices can rise after the initial term on 60 days' notice, with no public price list to anchor the discussion
- No EU hosting is documented and no Article 27 representative is designated, which will block some compliance reviews
- An AI answering shoppers on your behalf can be confidently wrong: the agreement puts accuracy review squarely on you, and the contract forbids uploading protected health information
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low, on Shopify. The app installs from the Shopify App Store with no code, and the FAQ describes it as plug-and-play in under five minutes; training runs automatically on the catalogue, so there is no knowledge base to build. Configuration happens in a dashboard - appearance, personality, PDF uploads - and you can test on the store before publishing. Budget more than the install itself: the homepage claims seven days to go fully live. Off Shopify, integration is assisted by the vendor rather than self-service, and with no API there is no programmatic route.

Should you pick Manifest AI?
Manifest AI is a credible option for Shopify merchants who want an AI assistant working the storefront without turning it into a development project. Its strongest argument is friction: the app installs from the Shopify App Store, trains itself on the catalogue, collections and policy pages, and covers both halves of the journey - discovery, quizzes and recommendations before the sale, order tracking, returns and refunds after it. The no-code agent studio, the built-in A/B testing and the handover to Gorgias or Zendesk mean it slots into an existing stack rather than demanding a new one.
The reservations are real, and mostly commercial or contractual. There is no published price beyond the free Shopify tier: every paid plan runs through a sales call, which makes budgeting impossible from the outside. There is no public API and no mobile app. Most consequentially, the subscription agreement lets the publisher use customer data, feedback and usage data to train its own models and those of its providers, and no opt-out is documented anywhere - a point worth raising before signing.
On governance the picture is better than average for the category: a complete public legal corpus, a data processing agreement with standard contractual clauses and a UK addendum, a named subprocessor list, and a SOC 2 Type 2 declaration held since 2023. Against that, no Article 27 EU representative is designated, no data protection officer is named, and every subprocessor sits in the United States and India, so EU data residency is not on offer.
Treat the headline figures - 10x ROI, 98% ticket resolution, 99% of conversations automated - as vendor claims rather than measurements. The Shopify rating of 4.8 across 53 reviews is genuine, but thin against the 2,000+ brands the company says it serves.
