GDPR overview
RUMEXPERTS publishes a full GDPR privacy policy, although that policy declares its own scope to be the publisher's corporate website; it is the platform's terms of use, in clause 5.1, that designate it as the policy applying to platform users. It names RUMEXPERTS, Rue des Bada 27, 4317 Faimes, enterprise number 0742.532.822, as data controller, and sets out the rights of information, access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, with a one-month response deadline extendable by one month. Requests go to info@rumexperts.vet. The Belgian Data Protection Authority is named as supervisory authority, with its postal address, phone number and email. The policy states that some intermediaries may be established outside the EEA, under declared safeguards. It was last amended in November 2022. No processing-agreement offer and no subprocessor list are published.
Who owns the data?
The terms of use state that farm data remain the property of the farmer. RUMEXPERTS processes them only to deliver the platform's services, and both reselling them and passing them to an unauthorised third party are forbidden. An adviser or nutritionist can only reach a herd's records after the farmer has accepted their repatriation request, and the data stay with the farmer if that adviser later leaves. Before closing an account, the farmer can download everything recorded in the platform. RUMEXPERTS keeps ownership only of the platform's own editorial content, images and distinctive signs, not of the herd data flowing through it.
Reuse rights
Inside the platform, farmers and the advisers they have authorised may use the records they can see for their own professional activity, provided they respect applicable law; each of them remains solely responsible for what they enter and for what they do with repatriated records. Redistribution is where the terms draw the line: data made available in the platform may not be passed on to a third party nor resold in any form, and a farmer's authorisation is required before an adviser sees anything. One secondary use is reserved by the publisher itself. RUMEXPERTS may use a herd's data in research projects, on condition that the data are anonymised if the results are published, and the farmer involved is entitled to receive the results concerning their own farm. Neither the terms nor the privacy policy ever mentions using customer data to train AI models.
