PSIwms AI is the artificial-intelligence platform layered on PSI Software's warehouse management system. It shortens picking routes, supports supervisor decisions and lets teams test warehouse scenarios on a digital twin before touching live operations.
What is PSIwms AI?
PSIwms AI is the artificial-intelligence layer that PSI Software SE builds on top of PSIwms, its warehouse management system. PSIwms is a full WMS in its own right: even in the standard version it supports every warehouse form, type and technology the vendor lists, and it runs in production-linked stores, dispatch warehouses and distribution centres alike, in small facilities as well as large complex ones. The AI platform adds five things PSI states plainly: optimisation of warehouse processes through AI algorithms, decision support for management, an API into PSIwms for real-time updates, non-invasive testing through a digital twin, and a visualisation-heavy graphical interface.
The product ships in three editions. GO Retail is the cloud-based SaaS standard, built around 26 preconfigured best-practice workflows and aimed at retail, e-commerce and third-party logistics providers. FLEX adds configuration of company-specific requirements and add-on modules, controls closed systems such as AutoStore and Kanban, and is announced from around six weeks. PRO is the fully tailored edition for highly automated warehouses with individual conveyor technology and pick-by systems; the definition phase is longer, but the system with its peripherals and interfaces is usually productive after eight weeks. Moving up from GO later is possible.
Four modules structure the software: the core warehouse functions, the additional functions required by the German VDI 3601 guideline, PSI's own additional functions, and the interfaces, which cover standard connections to ERP systems such as SAP or Navision, shipping systems, material flow controllers and picking systems, plus a RESTful web service built on the OData standard that returns JSON.
Deployment is deliberately open: hosting, SaaS or on-premise, private or public cloud, with an Upgrade as a Service option for continuous automatic upgrades. The software is Java-based, released annually, and described as release-ready however far it has been customised.
External validation is unusually concrete for this category. The Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics has assessed PSIwms functions and services every year since 2003, and PSIwms AI took the LogiMAT BEST PRODUCT award in the Software, Communication, IT category in March 2025. At LPP Logistics, where the platform went fully live in early 2023, picking routes were cut by more than 30 percent.

PSI publishes no pricing for PSIwms or PSIwms AI. There is no free plan and no free trial, and no amount, currency or billing unit appears on the product page, the editions page or the brochure. The single pricing statement on the site is that the SaaS version is scalable with a flexible pricing model, offered without figures. The GO Retail edition is presented as a faster and more cost-effective entry point than a bespoke solution, again without a number. Pricing is therefore set by quotation: the only call to action is to arrange a call, and the brochure refers to an individual service level agreement, which points to terms negotiated case by case.

GDPR overview
The publisher is established in Berlin and its privacy policy is written under German and European law, citing a legal basis article by article, from Art. 6(1)(a), (b) and (f) GDPR to Section 26 BDSG for recruitment. A data protection officer is named, Christian Regnery, reachable at datenschutzbeauftragter@psi.de, and the Berlin supervisory authority is identified for complaints. Data subject rights are listed explicitly: information, rectification, erasure under Art. 17, restriction of processing, withdrawal of consent and objection under Art. 21. What is missing is just as telling. The site never states in so many words that it is GDPR compliant, publishes no data processing agreement, discloses no subprocessor list for the product, and carries no effective date or version number on the policy itself.
Who owns the data?
PSI publishes no terms and conditions on psi.de, so no contractual clause on ownership of customer data can be read before contact; the absence is confirmed against the site's own full sitemap. The only published policy is the privacy policy of the website itself, for which PSI Software SE, Dircksenstrasse 42-44 in Berlin, is the controller. It governs site visitors, event registrations, the PSI Marketplace, the newsletter, job applications and sales prospecting, and states that data is not passed to third parties unless the law requires it. It says nothing about the data a warehouse generates inside PSIwms. On the product side, the brochure mentions only an own data centre and ISO 27001 certified data security.
Reuse rights
Nothing on the site addresses whether a customer may reuse, export or redistribute the data held in PSIwms, because no terms and conditions are published. What the privacy policy does describe are the website's own processing purposes: displaying and securing the pages under legitimate interest, measuring audience through Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio, Hotjar and LinkedIn conversion tracking on consent, handling contact and training requests, running PSI Marketplace contracts, sending the newsletter, processing applications, and prospecting with LinkedIn Sales Navigator and snapADDY as an Article 28 processor. Transfers to Google LLC and Alphabet in the United States rely on EU standard contractual clauses, and LinkedIn Corporation transfers on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, with the policy noting plainly that the United States is treated as a third country. One question is never answered anywhere on the site: whether customer data is used to train AI models.

Hosting summary
PSIwms can be run as a hosted service, as SaaS or on-premise, in a private or public cloud, with resources scaled as required. The PSIwms brochure adds that the software is cloud-enabled and available from PSI's own data centre, and claims ISO 27001 certified data security for the product. What the site never states is where that data centre is, or in which country or region customer data physically sits, including for the SaaS offering. One caution matters here: the only hosting location published anywhere on the site, certified German data centres in Frankfurt and Berlin, belongs to a different PSI product built on the PSIconnect platform and should not be read across to PSIwms. The group's Data Security page describes encryption, backup, disaster recovery and an information security management system, again without geography. Any organisation with data residency requirements will need to obtain the hosting jurisdiction in writing from PSI, because no public source on the site answers the question.
