What is QiTASC?

QiTASC, short for Quality improving Tools And Services Company, is an end-to-end test automation framework built by QiTASC GmbH, a family business founded in Vienna in 2005 with a second office in Düsseldorf. Its purpose is deliberately narrow: proving that a complete digital service works, from a real handset through the app, the network and the backend, instead of testing components in isolation.

The product at the centre is intaQt, a framework of sixteen named modules. intaQt itself is the runtime; intaQt studio and intaQt web-ui are development interfaces; intaQt client is a command-line interface. Around them sit intaQt verification for charging, cheQ for trace comparison, colleQtor for evidence collection, cdr-linQ for CDR search, mimiQ for simulation and load generation, conQlude for reporting and issue tracking, marQ for alarms, reloQate for SIM mapping, restriQt for user management, reQord for secure event handling, exQavate for traffic encryption, and inQuire, a multi-agent AI platform.

Two AI capabilities stand out. Tests are executed by autonomous agents working continuously, and deQlare, an intent-based console, lets a user describe a test in natural or technical language before converting that description into an executable flow, drawing on a knowledge base fed with the customer's own documentation. Visual recognition models are trained on the customer's graphical elements so the framework can identify what is on screen and flag unexpected changes.

Hardware is the second pillar. QiTASC runs a remote lab in Vienna holding analogue and ISDN infrastructure, Android handsets, iPhones with Mac mini controllers, Snom and Yealink VoIP phones, a Fritzbox 7490, a SIM array and an in-house phone hub for audio injection and battery-charge control. A portable version ships as pre-wired suitcases for telecom, IoT, smart meter and roaming work.

The third pillar is service: QiTASC engineers can run the testing outright, train an internal team, or share the work. Commercially the offer is packaged into eight bundles, from basic services to critical infrastructure, licensed annually and priced only on request. The site reports 4,950 existing test cases, 602,790 executions in 2026 and customers across 21 nations.

GDPR overview

Implementation is real but website-scoped. QiTASC GmbH is established in Austria, so no Article 27 representative is required or named. The privacy policy designates the company as controller under the GDPR, gives info@qitasc.com as contact, and cites concrete legal bases: Art. 6(1)(a), (b) and (f), Art. 9(1) and 9(2)(a), Art. 49(1)(a) and section 25(1) TDDDG. It sets out the full catalogue of rights, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection under Art. 21, withdrawal of consent and complaint to a supervisory authority, and confirms SSL or TLS encryption plus a data processing contract with each named processor. Transfers outside the EU are limited to recipients certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. No data protection officer is appointed, no security certification is claimed, and the framework licence agreement itself contains no data-protection clause.

Who owns the data?

The 2026 licence agreement is explicit on one side only. QiTASC GmbH keeps the copyright and every resulting property, use and exploitation right over the software and the documents it delivers, while the licensee receives a non-exclusive right of use limited to one year and nothing more. On the other side, the contract says nothing about who owns the test data, the evidence and the reports produced during a run: the licensee is simply declared solely responsible for designing and executing test cases. The one ownership gesture found is operational rather than contractual, since ending the optional hosted Git service transfers all artefacts back to the customer. The privacy policy covers website visitors only.

Reuse rights

Reuse rights run firmly in the vendor's favour. Under the licence agreement the licensee may not modify, translate or reproduce the software or the delivered documents, not even partially or temporarily, may not rent or lend the framework, and may not pass rights or the software key to a third party without prior written consent; a licence covers individual use on a single server, PC or notebook. In the opposite direction, QiTASC states that it trains models on customer-specific graphical elements such as logos, icons, buttons, colours, labels, menus and screen states, and that the deQlare console ingests customer documentation into its knowledge base. No opt-out from that training is documented, and the licence agreement carries no data-protection clause at all, so anything the customer wants to secure about the reuse of its own test material has to be added by separate negotiation.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
The published rules cover website data only. Personal data stays until the purpose it was collected for no longer applies. If you make a justified deletion request or withdraw your consent, the data is deleted unless a legal ground requires it to be kept, such as tax or commercial retention periods, in which case deletion follows once that ground lapses. Contact form submissions and requests sent by email, telephone or fax follow the same rule. No figure in days, months or years is given anywhere, and no anonymisation process is described. Hosting summary

Two very different things have to be separated here. The website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, and DNS resolution confirms it: 213.133.106.48, AS24940 Hetzner Online GmbH, Nuremberg. Jurisdiction for the site is therefore German and inside the European Union. Where customer test data lives is not published anywhere. It depends on the operating model chosen, since the framework can run on-premises at the customer's own site, in the cloud, as a managed service or in a hybrid arrangement, and the location follows that choice. The physical remote lab with its real devices is in Vienna, Austria. QiTASC also offers optional Git server hosting for customer intaQt projects without stating where those servers sit. A buyer who needs a hosting commitment for its own data will have to obtain it contractually, because the published material does not provide one.
