Blog2Video

Blog2Video turns a published article URL, a PDF, a DOCX or a PPTX into a narrated video: headings of the source become scenes, an ElevenLabs voice reads the text, and one pass exports MP4, PNG slides, PDF and PowerPoint.

Overview

What is Blog2Video?

Blog2Video is a web service from FireBird Technologies that converts written material into narrated video. Its working assumption is that the article is the source of truth rather than a loose prompt: each subheading becomes a scene, bullet lists become on-screen callouts, and the narration is written from the full body text instead of a summary. Accepted inputs are the URL of a public article, a PDF, a DOCX or a PPTX, and several links can be queued together in a bulk run. Narration comes from ElevenLabs. Four documentary-grade voices are available by default, male and female in British and American accents, with more than a hundred premium voices, voice cloning and prompt-designed voices on the Pro tier. Rendering runs on Remotion, with a live player preview and frame-by-frame progress. Twelve animated templates are named for 2026, among them Nightfall, Spotlight, Whiteboard, Gridcraft, Newspaper, Bloomberg Terminal, Chronicle and Newscast, spread across more than sixty layouts; the sitemap exposes several more, including a custom option. Pasting the URL of a website extracts its colours, fonts and style into a bespoke template, a Pro feature. Scenes are built for structured content: syntax-highlighted code blocks, animated bullet lists, flow diagrams, comparison layouts and large metrics. The blog's Open Graph image becomes the opening scene and extracted images are distributed across the rest. After generation an AI chat editor applies targeted changes, so a scene can be rewritten or restructured without regenerating the whole file. One generation yields MP4, PNG slides for carousels, a PDF deck, a PowerPoint file, a shareable URL and an iframe embed. Multilingual generation covers more than fifty languages since March 2026, with automatic language detection, right-to-left rendering and correct handling of Japanese, Korean and Chinese characters. There is no duration cap: the video follows the length of the article, and a three-thousand-word piece is described as producing five to eight minutes. A published MCP server allows the tool to be driven from Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or n8n, and an Enterprise tier adds an API, single sign-on and on-premise deployment.

What it does

  • Convert a public article URL into a narrated video whose scenes follow the headings of the original text
  • Turn an uploaded PDF, DOCX or PPTX into the same narrated format
  • Generate the script, the scene breakdown, the voice-over and the visuals in a single pass
  • Rewrite, restructure or regenerate one scene through an AI chat editor without re-rendering the whole video
  • Export one generation as MP4, PNG slides, PDF, PowerPoint, a shareable link or an iframe embed
  • Produce the entire video, narration and on-screen text included, in more than fifty languages
  • Queue several article URLs at once and obtain a batch of videos from one run

When to use Blog2Video / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if Blog2Video is the right fit.

When to use Blog2Video

  • Bloggers and newsletter authors on Substack or Medium who want a video to accompany every issue they already write
  • Technical bloggers and developer relations teams whose posts carry code blocks, architecture diagrams and data tables
  • Finance publishers and market analysts producing recurring commentary, who need a visual register readers associate with credibility
  • Educators and researchers sitting on PDFs, slide decks and course documents that almost nobody reads to the end
  • Solopreneurs and small marketing teams with no video editor on staff and no appetite for a timeline

When not to use Blog2Video

  • Teams that need a presenter on screen: the tool renders typography, charts, images and motion, never an avatar or a talking head
  • Video editors who want frame-level control, a timeline, rushes and manual cutting
  • Creators starting from a blank page, since the tool needs an existing written source and does not replace the writing itself
  • Organisations bound by strict data governance, as no GDPR statement, Data Processing Agreement, subprocessor list or hosting jurisdiction is published anywhere on the site
  • Anyone expecting a mobile workflow: there is no iOS or Android application, only the web service

How to use Blog2Video

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Paste the URL of a public article, or upload a PDF, DOCX or PPTX file
  2. Add several links at once if you want a batch of videos from a single run
  3. Pick an animated template matched to the register of the content, from Bloomberg Terminal for finance to Chronicle for long-form narrative
  4. Choose an ElevenLabs voice, male or female, British or American accent, and preview it before committing
  5. Select a target language if you do not want the automatically detected one
  6. Launch the generation and let the tool write the script, cut the scenes, record the narration and build the visuals
  7. Review the draft in the Remotion preview player when the editor opens
  8. Adjust any scene through the AI chat editor, swap text, reorder or regenerate a section without re-rendering everything
  9. Render to MP4, or export the same generation as PNG slides, a PDF deck or a PowerPoint file
  10. Copy the shareable link or the iframe embed to place the video back inside the original article

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • The structure of the original article survives the conversion: headings, bullets, code, diagrams and tables all reach the screen
  • One generation produces four deliverables, MP4, PNG, PDF and PPTX, plus a link and an embed code
  • Subscriptions count finished videos rather than minutes or credits, so a short clip and a long explainer cost the same
  • The free plan is permanent, needs no credit card and produces no watermark
  • Pricing is published in full, including the volume tiers of the pay-as-you-go option
  • Editing is targeted: a single scene can be reworked without re-rendering the file
  • Programmatic use is documented through an MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and n8n

Cons

  • Data governance is undocumented: no GDPR statement, no Data Processing Agreement, no named subprocessors and no declared hosting country or region
  • The site says nothing about whether uploaded content is used to train AI models
  • No postal address is published, and the only contact is a personal email address on a third-party domain
  • The Terms and the privacy policy are dated 11 May 2025, some nine months before the domain itself was registered
  • The whole site is rendered in JavaScript, so its content is invisible without script execution
  • Voice cloning, branded templates and the AI editor are reserved for the higher tiers
  • There is no mobile application, no avatar and no frame-level editing

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how Blog2Video handles your data.

GDPR overview

There is no GDPR implementation to report. The acronym appears nowhere on the site, and a search across the whole application returned no mention of the regulation, of CCPA, of a Data Processing Agreement or of a subprocessor list. No EU representative under Article 27 is designated and no data protection officer is named. Section 7 of the privacy policy nevertheless grants rights that mirror the regulation, namely access, rectification, erasure, objection or restriction of processing, and portability, but qualifies them as depending on the user's location and routes every request to a single email address. No hosting jurisdiction is declared. The privacy policy carries the date of 11 May 2025.

Who owns the data?

Section 5 of the Terms of Service states that users keep all ownership rights over the content they submit. Submitting it grants FireBird Technologies only a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process, store and transform that material, and the licence is expressly confined to providing the service to the user. Users must warrant in return that they hold the rights to what they upload and that it infringes nothing. The platform itself, including its design, code and trademarks, remains the property of FireBird Technologies under section 8, and section 6 places the duty to review AI-generated output before publication entirely on the user.

Reuse rights

Users may reuse the videos, slides and decks they generate without asking permission: ownership of the submitted material stays with them, and no clause on the site restricts commercial use of the output. The Terms only require that the source content be lawfully theirs and that nothing produced infringe third-party rights or be misleading, defamatory or harmful. On the vendor side, the privacy policy confines the data it collects, namely account details, submitted content, usage data and payment records, to operating the service, managing subscriptions, sending transactional messages, answering support requests, monitoring abuse, analysing usage and meeting legal obligations. Nothing on the site says whether submitted content is used to train AI models.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Account information and submitted content are kept for as long as the account is active, or for as long as they are needed to provide the service. Users may ask for their account and the associated data to be deleted by contacting the publisher, and the request goes to the single contact address given in the privacy policy. The policy reserves the right to keep certain information where the law requires it or for legitimate business purposes, without saying which. No retention period is quantified anywhere, no purge deadline is given, and nothing is said about anonymisation or about how long backups persist. Security is described only as reasonable technical and organisational measures, with an explicit disclaimer that absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Hosting summary

No hosting information is published. Neither the privacy policy nor the Terms name a country, a region or a provider: section 4 of the privacy policy refers only to "cloud infrastructure providers" as a category, alongside payment processors, analytics providers and Google OAuth, without identifying any of them. There is consequently no declared jurisdiction for stored account data or for the articles, PDFs and documents users submit, and no statement about cross-border transfers. What can be observed from outside is only the delivery layer: the domain is served through Cloudflare on an anycast address, and the application calls an api.blog2video.app endpoint. That says where the site is fronted, not where data is stored, and it should not be read as a hosting location. Anyone with a residency requirement will need to ask the publisher directly.

Watch-outs

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Blog2Video.

  • No GDPR statement, no Data Processing Agreement, no named subprocessors and no declared hosting country: a team with compliance duties has nothing to rely on
  • The site takes no position on training AI models with uploaded content, so anyone submitting unpublished or confidential material is doing so without a written assurance
  • The Terms and privacy policy are dated 11 May 2025, before the domain was registered in February 2026, which points to documents inherited from another product rather than drafted for this one
  • Only one contact exists, a personal email address on a third-party domain, with no postal address and no functional support mailbox
  • The convincing quality of automated narration invites publishing without reading: the Terms explicitly place the burden of reviewing AI output on the user, and a plausible-sounding error travels further in video than in text
  • Delegating the video version of every article can quietly erode the editorial judgement that decides which ideas deserve a second format at all
  • The MCP connector issues a personal token valid for around seventy-two hours that grants full account access, and the lifetime offers are presented as limited in both time and volume, which pushes towards hurried decisions
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Very low for the standard path. There is nothing to install: the service runs in a browser and sign-in goes through Google OAuth. A first video only requires pasting a URL or uploading a document, picking a template and a voice, and pressing generate; five help guides cover project creation, scene editing, voice-over changes and custom templates. The optional programmatic route is moderately technical: connecting the MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or n8n means copying an MCP URL and a personal JWT, and configuring bearer authentication over a streamable HTTP transport.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What can I feed into Blog2Video?
The URL of a public article or any public link, and uploaded PDF, DOCX and PPTX files. Several URLs can be queued at once in a bulk run to produce a batch of videos from a single pass.
How long does a video take to produce?
A complete draft is announced in under three minutes. The editor opens when generation finishes, so the remaining time is whatever review and adjustment you choose to do.
Is there a limit on video length?
No. The video follows the length of the source article, and the site indicates that a three-thousand-word piece typically produces five to eight minutes of video.
Which export formats are available?
One generation yields an MP4 file, PNG slides suitable for LinkedIn carousels, a PDF deck, a PowerPoint file, a shareable URL and an iframe embed code.
Which voices and languages are supported?
Narration uses ElevenLabs, with four documentary-grade voices by default, male and female in British and American accents, and more than a hundred premium voices plus voice cloning on the Pro tier. Generation covers more than fifty languages since March 2026, with automatic detection and right-to-left rendering.
Is there a free plan, and what does the cheapest paid option cost?
A permanent free plan covers one video with no credit card and no watermark. Paid entry is USD 3.99 per video without subscription, or the Lite plan at USD 19.99 per month, USD 15.99 per month on annual billing.
Can I edit a video after it has been generated?
Yes. An AI chat editor reworks a single scene without re-rendering the whole file. Free accounts receive six AI edit credits in total, each purchased video adds twenty, and subscriptions carry a monthly allowance of three hundred on Lite, two thousand on Standard and five thousand on Pro.
How do billing and cancellation work?
Checkout runs through Stripe and subscriptions renew automatically. They can be cancelled at any time through the billing portal, with access retained until the end of the billing period. The Terms state that fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
Can Blog2Video be driven programmatically?
Yes. A published MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and n8n call the tool, using an MCP URL and a personal JWT that expires after roughly seventy-two hours. An API is also part of the Enterprise offer.
What does the site say about GDPR, data hosting and model training?
Nothing. The regulation is never mentioned, no Data Processing Agreement or subprocessor list is published, no hosting country or region is declared, and the site takes no position on whether submitted content is used to train AI models. The minimum age to use the service is eighteen.
Conclusion

Should you pick Blog2Video?

Blog2Video occupies a narrow and clearly stated position: it is not a general-purpose AI video generator but a conversion tool for people who already publish in writing. That choice shows in the output. Because the scene breakdown follows the headings of the source article rather than a prompt, code blocks, diagrams, tables and the order of an argument survive the trip to video, which is precisely what generic tools tend to flatten. The multi-format export is the second real advantage: one generation produces an MP4, a set of PNG slides, a PDF deck, a PowerPoint file, a shareable link and an embed code, which matches how a single article is actually redistributed across channels. Pricing is unusually legible for the category. Subscriptions count finished videos rather than minutes or credits, the volume tiers of the pay-as-you-go option are published, and the free plan is permanent rather than a countdown: one video, no card, no watermark. That makes an honest evaluation cheap. The reservations are about governance rather than product. The site never mentions the GDPR, publishes no Data Processing Agreement and no subprocessor list, declares no hosting country, and says nothing at all about whether uploaded content feeds model training. There is no postal address, and the only published contact is a personal email address on a different domain. The legal documents are dated some nine months before the domain was registered, which suggests they were inherited rather than written for this product. Blog2Video is worth testing on its merits, but a team with compliance obligations should put those questions to the publisher in writing before committing content to it.
