Opinion Stage
Opinion Stage is a no-code platform for building quizzes, polls, surveys, forms, assessments and calculators. Its AI writes a complete quiz from a short description or an uploaded document, and a free forever plan is available.
What is Opinion Stage?
Opinion Stage is a hosted platform for building interactive content: quizzes, polls, surveys, forms, assessments and calculators, all from one no-code editor. It is published by Opinion Stage Ltd., an Israeli company whose domain has been live since 2011, and it is aimed at teams that want to turn traffic they already have into responses, leads and sales rather than run one-off questionnaires.
The AI is one creation path among several, not the whole product. You describe what you want in a conversation — audience, tone, number of questions, question types, expected results — and the generator returns a publish-ready quiz, announced in under a minute; it may ask clarifying questions first. You can instead upload a PDF, PowerPoint or Word file and have the questions written from your own content. Multiple choice, short answer and long answer are supported, and everything the AI produces stays editable. The platform also advertises built-in AI tools for surfacing patterns and trends in the answers collected. The older routes remain: start from scratch, pick one of the 100+ templates, or import your own questions.
Items are then branded — colours, fonts, sizes, logo, white labelling, custom CSS on higher tiers — and published by embed code on any site (WordPress plugin, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify), from a landing page hosted by Opinion Stage, or shared to social channels and email. Skip and branch logic keeps each respondent on a relevant path, and a lead form can sit just before the results page.
Reporting covers views, starts, completions, time spent and a drop-off report, with charts and tables and export to Excel, Google Sheets or CSV. A total of 106 named integrations push responses to tools such as Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot, Salesforce, Slack, Notion, Zapier and Make, with a developer API and webhooks for everything else. The company claims 100,000+ teams and brands and a 4.8/5 G2 rating from 110 reviews, and shows Amazon, Harvard, NBC, PepsiCo, Uber and USA Today among its customers. Items follow WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines. There is no mobile app.

When to use Opinion Stage / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Opinion Stage is the right fit.
When to use Opinion Stage
- Marketing teams that want to convert existing traffic into qualified leads rather than buy more of it
- Publishers and media brands looking to raise engagement, sharing and time spent on their content
- E-commerce managers guiding shoppers to the right product with recommendation quizzes, then syncing leads to Klaviyo, Omnisend or HubSpot
- Content creators, agencies and small service businesses with no developer on hand
- Training and education teams that need graded assessments, knowledge tests and post-course surveys
When not to use Opinion Stage
- Organisations that require data residency inside the European Union: hosting is on AWS in the United States only, with no EU option announced
- Buyers who need a self-serve signable DPA or audited certifications such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001, none of which are published
- High-volume programmes on a tight budget, since every tier is priced on the number of monthly responses
- Teams needing several workspaces or more than five seats without negotiating an Enterprise contract
- Anyone who needs a native mobile app, or users under 18, whom the privacy policy bars from registering
How to use Opinion Stage
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Create a free account from the Get Started Free button, or sign up with a Facebook, Twitter or Google account; no credit card is requested
- Pick the format you need: quiz, poll, survey, form, assessment or calculator
- Choose a starting point: describe your idea to the AI, upload a PDF, PowerPoint or Word document, open one of the 100+ templates, or import your own questions
- Answer the AI's clarifying questions about audience, tone, number of questions and result pages
- Edit what comes back: rewrite questions and answers, add images, videos or GIFs, and adjust the result pages
- Set up skip and branch logic so each respondent only sees relevant questions
- Insert a lead form, ideally just before the results page, and connect the destination tool (Mailchimp, HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Sheets, Zapier or a webhook)
- Apply your branding: colours, fonts, sizes and logo, plus custom CSS and logo removal on the paid tiers
- Publish by pasting the embed code on your site, installing the WordPress plugin, using the hosted landing page, or sharing the link on social and email
- Track results in the analytics dashboard — views, starts, completions, time spent, drop-off — and export the responses to Excel, Google Sheets or CSV
Pros & Cons
Pros
- A permanent free plan with no credit card that already includes AI creation and lead capture
- Six content formats covered by a single editor, with unlimited items and questions on every tier
- AI generation from an existing document, not just from a text prompt
- 106 named integrations, a developer API and webhooks, so responses rarely stay stuck in the tool
- An established publisher: a company active since 2011, with a postal address, phone number and email published on two consistent legal pages
- GDPR and CCPA compliance claimed in plain words, with encryption in transit and at rest and a dedicated help-centre article
- Quizzes built to WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines, and multi-channel support by chat, phone, email, help centre and video tutorials
Cons
- Pricing is indexed on monthly responses: 25 a month on the free plan, 1,000 on the entry Pro tier, and the bill climbs quickly from USD 25 to USD 400 a month on annual billing
- Removing the Opinion Stage branding requires the Business plan, at USD 79 a month billed yearly (USD 99 monthly)
- No free trial of the paid tiers: testing happens on the free plan or through a sales conversation, and plans are prepaid and non-refundable outside the 14-day EU withdrawal right
- Data is hosted on AWS in the United States only, with no European residency option announced anywhere
- No published DPA and no audited security certification: sixteen usual legal and security paths were probed and all returned 404
- The terms grant the publisher a worldwide, sub-licensable licence over user content and warn that it may be republished
- The privacy policy and terms both date from 2 May 2024 and say nothing about whether customer content feeds AI model training

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Opinion Stage handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR compliance is claimed in plain words: the Enterprise page states that Opinion Stage follows industry-standard security and privacy guidelines and strictly complies with GDPR and CCPA, and a dedicated help-centre article updated on 5 December 2025 explains how to use the tool compliantly. The privacy policy names Opinion Stage Ltd. in Shoham, Israel as the controller, lists consent, contract performance and legitimate interest as legal bases, and enumerates the rights of access, rectification, portability, erasure, objection, restriction, withdrawal of consent and complaint to a local authority, with a two-week response commitment. Two gaps remain: no EU representative under Article 27 is named although the publisher is established outside the EU, and no data processing agreement is published — GDPR contracts are listed only as an Enterprise plan line item.
Who owns the data?
Ownership stays with the customer. The terms of service state that you retain ownership of all User Content you submit, and the pricing FAQ repeats that your data is 100% yours and can be removed from the servers at any time. Personal data collected through a published quiz or form remains the responsibility of whoever built the item; Opinion Stage describes itself as merely storing and processing it to deliver the service. The counterweight sits in the same terms: by posting content you grant Opinion Stage a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free and sub-licensable licence to use, copy, adapt, modify, publish, transmit, display and distribute it, and the terms warn that your content may be republished.
Reuse rights
Customers can reuse everything they collect without asking permission. Answers, responses and performance reports are available in the dashboard, exportable at any time to Excel, Google Sheets or CSV, and can be pushed automatically to other systems through the 106 named integrations, webhooks or the developer API. Deletion is customer-driven too: data can be removed from the servers at any time, and a complete account deletion request triggers immediate erasure unless a legal retention obligation applies. On the vendor side, the privacy policy limits use to delivering the service, billing, support, log analysis, security and DMCA compliance; marketing messages require prior explicit consent. Named recipients are AWS, Intercom, BlueSnap, PayPal and Google Analytics. Neither the policy nor the terms say anything about whether customer content or responses feed AI model training.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
Data is hosted on Amazon AWS servers located in the United States. The privacy policy states that the company's servers are secure AWS servers in the U.S., and the help-centre article on GDPR repeats it while adding that data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. The Enterprise page describes the same setup: AWS servers, transit over HTTPS, encryption at rest. The pricing FAQ adds that data is backed up in multiple locations. No European or regional data residency option is announced anywhere on the site. The publisher itself is established in Israel, so an EU customer's data is processed under a controller outside the EEA and stored in the United States; the privacy policy commits to checking the recipient jurisdiction's level of protection or to concluding an agreement with the third party concerned. The domain resolves to an Amazon anycast address geolocated in the United States. Named third parties with access are AWS, Intercom, BlueSnap, PayPal and Google Analytics.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Opinion Stage.
- The terms grant Opinion Stage a worldwide, sub-licensable licence to use, adapt, publish and distribute your content, and explicitly warn that user content may be republished — read that clause before uploading anything sensitive or client-owned
- Nothing in the privacy policy or the terms, both dated 2 May 2024, says whether customer content and collected responses are used to train AI models: the question is simply not addressed
- Every response you collect lands on AWS servers in the United States; for an EU-based business collecting personal data through a quiz, that is a transfer outside the EEA with no European alternative offered
- No EU representative under Article 27 is named and no DPO is appointed, even though the publisher is established in Israel; the GDPR contact is the general info@ address
- You, not Opinion Stage, are the controller of the personal data your quizzes collect — the help-centre article makes that explicit, and the consent checkbox it recommends is yours to implement
- AI-generated questions can be factually wrong, biased or off-tone, and the speed of generation makes it tempting to publish without reading: everything the generator produces should be reviewed before it reaches an audience
- Usage figures differ between the homepage and the About page (1.3M+ versus 1M+ items, 3B+ versus 2.5B+ questions), and the homepage YouTube link is broken — small signs that parts of the site are not maintained in step
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Very low for the standard path. Account creation is free and needs no credit card, the pricing FAQ states that no technical skills or prior knowledge are required, and the quiz pages advertise no coding. An AI-generated quiz is announced in under a minute, and publishing means pasting an embed code, installing the WordPress plugin or using the hosted landing page. An onboarding call is included from the Pro plan. Difficulty rises only at the edges: custom CSS branding is reserved for higher tiers and assumes front-end skills, and the developer API and webhooks require a developer.

Should you pick Opinion Stage?
Opinion Stage is a mature interactive-content platform rather than an AI product with a thin wrapper around it. The company has been publishing since 2011, identifies itself with a postal address, a phone number and an email on two consistent legal pages, and shows what it sells: six builders, 106 named integrations, a reachable developer API, more than a hundred templates and a documented analytics layer. The AI sits inside that platform as one creation path — a conversational generator that also reads uploaded PDF, PowerPoint and Word files — and it is genuinely useful, but anyone shopping for an AI-first tool should know the platform predates it by more than a decade.
The free plan is unusually generous in features and deliberately tight on volume, which makes it a real way to evaluate the editor rather than a demo. Beyond that, the pricing is a volume ladder: USD 25 a month billed yearly buys 1,000 responses, and removing the Opinion Stage branding means moving to Business. There is no trial of the paid tiers, and payments are prepaid and non-refundable outside the EU's 14-day withdrawal right.
The reservations are on governance rather than on the product. GDPR and CCPA compliance is claimed in plain words and a help-centre article backs it, but hosting is exclusively in the United States, no EU representative under Article 27 is named for a publisher established in Israel, no DPA is downloadable, and no audited security certification is published. The terms also grant a broad, sub-licensable licence over user content, and neither the terms nor the privacy policy — both dated 2 May 2024 — say anything about AI model training. Teams with European data-residency or procurement requirements should settle these points before committing.
