Poper
Poper is an AI-powered onsite engagement platform that builds forms, quizzes, popups, surveys and 200+ widgets from a plain-English prompt, a PDF or a URL. One script tag installs it; a free forever plan exists.
What is Poper?
Poper is an onsite engagement platform published by Latracal Solutions Private Limited in Bengaluru, India. Its argument is consolidation: rather than paying separately for a form builder, a popup tool, a quiz maker, a survey app, a review widget and a gamification plugin, you install one script tag and get all six. The site prices that alternative stack at $111 a month and its own entry tier at $14.
The product covers six campaign families — forms, quizzes, popups and bars, surveys with NPS and CSAT, gamification, and more than 200 widget types — backed by over 2,000 templates. The AI drafts rather than decorates: describe a form in plain English, upload a PDF or paste a URL, and Poper generates fields, conditional logic and design in one pass. It also writes headlines, copy and CTAs, translates a campaign into more than 50 languages, summarises hundreds of responses, predicts visitor intent, filters spam and duplicates, and optimises A/B variants by itself.
Delivery is deliberately undemanding. A single script tag works on WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix, Framer or anything accepting custom JavaScript, and campaigns can travel off-site as a shared link or a QR code. Twelve targeting rules decide who sees what, six trigger types decide when. Ninety-six native integrations are documented one page at a time, with Zapier, Make, Pabbly Connect and webhooks behind them, a REST API and JavaScript SDK for developers, and MCP access for AI tooling.
The company is young and says so. Its about page dates the first line of code to 7 January 2024, a working version to three days later, the public launch to 3 April 2024 and the thousandth user to that September; Poper 2.0 is the current release and 11,000+ brands are claimed. That youth shows: the FAQ still denies that A/B testing exists, and the forms page claims 250,000+ teams where the homepage claims 11,000+ brands. On governance, a public DPA naming five subprocessors sits beside real gaps — no security certification, United States hosting only, and no Article 27 EU representative.
What it does
- Generate a form, quiz or popup by describing it in plain English, uploading a PDF or pasting a URL
- Capture and qualify leads with multi-step forms, conditional logic and more than 40 field types
- Trigger campaigns on exit intent, scroll depth, inactivity, click, hover or time delay
- Target visitors by country and city, device, UTM, referrer, new versus returning status, or AI intent prediction
- Run A/B tests and let the AI send traffic to the winning variant
- Gamify with spin-to-win, scratch cards and pick-a-gift, and add live social proof notifications
- Sync results to 96 native integrations, Zapier, Make, Pabbly Connect or a webhook, or export them to CSV
When to use Poper / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Poper is the right fit.
When to use Poper
- E-commerce and Shopify store owners who want exit-intent offers, spin-to-win coupons and product recommendation quizzes without adding a second app
- Growth and CRO teams that need A/B tested campaigns, twelve targeting rules and revenue attribution in one place
- Agencies running several client sites, served by sub-accounts, RBAC permissions, white-label output and a single multi-site dashboard
- Solo creators, bloggers and small businesses, thanks to a permanent free plan and a $14-a-month entry tier that asks for no credit card
- Educators and course creators who turn a PDF, a pasted text or a URL into an interactive quiz with AI
When not to use Poper
- Teams that require a certified security posture: no SOC 2, ISO 27001 or HIPAA attestation is published anywhere on the site
- European organisations needing EU data residency, since the application and its database are hosted in the United States only
- Sites under heavy bot pressure: Poper itself admits it has no advanced spam protection such as reCAPTCHA, only DDoS filtering
- Buyers who need payment collection, API access or SSO on an affordable tier, as all three are locked behind the Business plan
- Non-English-speaking teams, because the interface, the documentation and the help centre exist in English only
How to use Poper
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Open an account on the Poper app; no credit card is requested
- Choose a campaign type: form, quiz, popup, bar, survey or gamified widget
- Describe what you need in plain English, upload a PDF or paste a URL and let the AI draft fields, logic and design, or start from one of the 2,000+ templates
- Refine the result in the drag-and-drop editor, with separate styling for mobile and desktop
- Set the triggers: exit intent, scroll depth, time delay, inactivity, click or hover
- Add targeting rules such as country and city, device, UTM, referrer, page URL, or new versus returning visitor
- Preview and test the campaign before it goes live
- Publish by pasting Poper's single script tag into your site, by using a dedicated CMS integration, or by sharing a link or QR code
- Connect a destination for the data: an email platform, a CRM, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, Pabbly Connect or a webhook
- Track impressions, clicks and conversions in the dashboard, run A/B tests, and pause or reactivate campaigns without deleting them
Pros & Cons
Pros
- One subscription replaces six categories of tool that are normally billed separately
- Entry price is low for the category: $14 a month list, against the $19 to $25 the site quotes for the specialists it replaces
- The free plan is genuinely permanent, covers 10,000 pageviews a month and asks for no credit card
- Installation is a single script tag and works on WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix, Framer and anything accepting custom JavaScript
- 96 native integrations, each with its own documented page, plus Zapier, Make, Pabbly Connect and webhooks
- A public, detailed Data Processing Agreement with five named and located subprocessors, which is rare at this price point
- Free migration from a competing tool quoted at 24 to 48 hours, alongside a help centre of several hundred articles, a public roadmap and a status page
Cons
- The site contradicts itself: the FAQ still states that A/B testing does not exist and is 'in our roadmap', while the homepage and the pricing grid sell it as built in
- Traction figures do not reconcile, with 11,000+ brands on the homepage against 250,000+ teams on the forms page
- No security certification is published: no SOC 2, no ISO 27001, no HIPAA
- Application and database are hosted in the United States only, with no EU data residency option and no Article 27 EU representative
- Payment collection, API access, SSO, full white-label and revenue attribution all require the Business plan, as do custom CSS and JavaScript
- Advanced spam protection is missing, as the site itself admits: DDoS filtering but no reCAPTCHA
- Prices need reading twice, since promotional rates are displayed by default, list prices sit behind them, and every tier is indexed on monthly pageview volume
Pricing & Plans
Poper operates on a freemium model. A permanent Free Forever plan is available at no cost, limited to one website, 50 AI credits and 10,000 pageviews per month, and no credit card is required to open it; a free trial of the paid features is also confirmed. The cheapest paid entry point is the Starter plan at a list price of USD 14.00 per month. At the time of this review a time-limited promotion reduced it to USD 9.00 per month, billed as USD 108.00 for the year. Pricing scales with monthly pageview volume, and annual billing removes a further 25 percent.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Poper handles your data.
GDPR overview
Implementation is unusually concrete for a tool at this price. Poper publishes a full Data Processing Agreement built explicitly on Article 28.3, names and locates its five subprocessors, commits to breach notification within 72 hours, grants an annual audit right on five working days' notice, and gives clients fifteen days to object to a subprocessor change. Article 32 measures are itemised: HTTPS, encryption at rest and in transit, AWS Cognito authentication, RBAC, IDS/IPS, backups and periodic security reviews. Data subject rights are listed in full, with privacy@poper.ai as the single point of contact, and compliance is claimed in writing on the homepage, the feature pages and every pricing tier. Two gaps remain: no Article 27 EU representative is designated although the publisher is established in India, and the privacy policy carries no effective date. Standard contractual clauses are never mentioned.
Who owns the data?
Poper's Data Processing Agreement states the relationship plainly: the subscriber is the data controller and Latracal Solutions is only the processor. Data the client gathers through campaigns stays defined by the client; data Poper collects on its own account covers popup interactions, browsing history on the client's site, IP addresses and session information. When processing ends the client chooses deletion or return, remaining copies are erased, and Poper confirms this in writing within thirty days. Lead exports in CSV are available on every plan. One quiet clause deserves attention: using the service grants Poper permission to show your company logo in customer testimonials.
Reuse rights
As the controller, the subscriber keeps free use of the leads and responses collected: they can be exported to CSV on any plan, pushed to 96 native integrations, routed through Zapier, Make, Pabbly Connect or a webhook, and read or written through the REST API on the Business tier, none of which requires Poper's permission. Poper's own use is bounded by its privacy policy: operating and maintaining the service, support, analytics, product improvement, and behavioural remarketing and third-party advertising on its own website via Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. OpenAI is listed as an optional subprocessor for AI generations. Nothing on the site says whether customer data feeds model training, and no opt-out is documented; the only adjacent commitment is narrow, in that Google Workspace data obtained through the Google Sheets connection is not used to train personalised AI/ML models. Card details are never stored, payment being handled by a PCI-DSS compliant processor.

Hosting summary
The Data Processing Agreement names and locates every subprocessor, which is more disclosure than most vendors of this size offer. The application and its database run on Hetzner Cloud in Ashburn, Virginia, United States, and authentication runs on AWS Cognito in North Virginia, also in the United States. Cloudflare acts as DNS provider and CDN, described as worldwide, and stores and serves user files. Two optional subprocessors are listed as worldwide: OpenAI for AI generations and Google Fonts for popup typography. No EU data residency option is offered, and the data security page explicitly anticipates international transfer and asks users to consent to it. Encryption at rest and in transit is claimed, all traffic runs over HTTPS, and backups are kept separately from live data. Note that the public IP address resolves to a Cloudflare anycast node, which says nothing about where the application actually runs; the DPA is the source that does. No hosting or security certification is published.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Poper.
- Popups are an interruption by design, and the same targeting that lifts conversion degrades the experience of visitors who never asked to be interrupted; the site offers no guidance on how often is too often
- Urgency mechanics such as countdown timers, low-stock alerts, purchase notifications and spin-to-win work on cognitive biases, and populating them with figures that are not real turns persuasion into deception
- Letting the AI write the copy and route the traffic makes it easy to stop reading what your own site says to visitors, and to lose the habit of forming and testing your own hypotheses
- You remain the data controller for every lead your campaigns collect, including consent and privacy notices; that liability does not transfer to the vendor
- Hosting is United States only, no Article 27 EU representative is named and standard contractual clauses are never mentioned, so European visitors' data leaves the EU and your own privacy notice has to say so
- Nothing on the site states whether campaign content and captured leads feed model training, and no opt-out is documented, so sensitive form fields deserve caution
- The performance figures on display, such as 32 percent cart recovery, 2.4 times more signups and plus 150 percent revenue in the ROI calculator, are vendor averages rather than audited results, and budgets built on them can disappoint
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low. One script tag on the site is enough, and Poper quotes under five minutes for installation and under two minutes for a first campaign. Platforms that hide their code, including WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow and Google Tag Manager, have dedicated integrations. No technical skill is claimed to be necessary. A developer becomes useful only for optional work: custom CSS and JavaScript, the REST API, webhooks, the JavaScript SDK or SSO, all on the Business plan. Paid onboarding costs USD 199 once, and migration from a competing tool is free.

Should you pick Poper?
Poper is the rare consolidation play that does not feel thin. Six categories of tool sit in one platform, the AI actually drafts campaigns instead of merely restyling them, and the entry price of $14 a month undercuts most of the forty-nine competitors the site lines up against. For an e-commerce store, a small agency or a solo creator who currently pays four subscriptions to do less, the arithmetic is hard to argue with, and the permanent free plan makes trying it cost nothing but an afternoon.
The reservations are about maturity rather than capability. The site does not agree with itself: the FAQ denies that A/B testing exists while the pricing grid charges for it, and the traction figure swings from 11,000 brands to 250,000 teams depending on which page you land on. Sloppy copy is forgivable; the governance gaps matter more. There is no SOC 2 or ISO 27001, the application runs only from Virginia with no EU residency option, no Article 27 representative is named although the publisher is Indian, the privacy policy has no effective date, and nothing tells you whether your campaign data trains a model. Against that, the published DPA with five named subprocessors is better disclosure than several larger vendors manage.
So the honest reading is a strong product from a young company. If you are a marketer, a founder or an agency chasing conversions, Poper is a serious candidate and the free tier costs you nothing to verify. If you answer to a procurement questionnaire, a DPO or a data residency requirement, the tool is not yet ready for you, and asking for a certification roadmap before you commit is the reasonable next step.
