SendPulse
SendPulse is an all-in-one marketing platform combining email, SMS, web push, six-channel chatbots, live chat, a built-in CRM, a website builder and online courses, with multi-provider AI. Built for small businesses, marketers and e-commerce teams.
What is SendPulse?
SendPulse is a multichannel marketing automation platform published by SendPulse Inc., a New York company founded in 2015 as an email marketing service. It now presents itself as an AI-driven marketing platform that helps scaling businesses automate email and chatbot conversations, and its scope is considerably wider than email alone.
Sending channels cover bulk and transactional email through SMTP, SMS, web push notifications and Viber. Conversational channels add live chat and chatbots for Instagram, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp including the WhatsApp Business API and Click to WhatsApp Ads, Telegram, Viber and TikTok, all feeding a single omnichannel inbox. Around them sit modules that have little to do with messaging: a built-in CRM with contacts, deals and pipelines; a drag-and-drop builder for websites, landing pages and bio-link pages; an online course builder with its own LMS; smart pop-ups, NPS surveys, an email verifier and the SendPulse tracking pixel. Automation 360 ties everything together with event-triggered workflows that mix email, SMS and chatbot steps.
The AI layer is multi-provider rather than tied to one model: OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and DeepSeek are all integrated. It generates chatbot flows, writes and rewrites emails and page copy, changes tone, translates into ten languages, produces pop-ups and assists inside the CRM with reminders, replies and call summaries. Whisper handles voice transcription, DALL-E image generation and GPT-Vision image description. An official MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor operate the account in natural language, while a documented REST API, client libraries and an official n8n node cover programmatic use.
A permanent free plan carries 15,000 emails a month, three chatbots, one website of up to 50 pages and 10,000 views, the CRM, ten pop-ups, forms and web push for up to 10,000 subscribers. SendPulse claims more than 3 million users and over 200,000 customers as of 15 July 2026, and displays clients such as Swatch, Karcher, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Radisson Blu Hotels and Domino's. The legal entity sits in New York, with offices in Chernihiv, Sao Paulo and Guadalajara, and support runs 24/7 in five languages.

When to use SendPulse / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if SendPulse is the right fit.
When to use SendPulse
- Small businesses and freelancers who want one subscription instead of separate email, chatbot, CRM and website tools
- Teams on a tight budget: the permanent free plan covers 15,000 emails a month, three chatbots, one website and the CRM, with no credit card
- Multichannel marketers who need to reach each contact on their preferred channel, from email and SMS to WhatsApp or Telegram, without switching tools
- Online store owners on Shopify, WooCommerce or Big Cartel who want campaigns, payments and a CRM in the same place
- Course creators and online schools that want to build, host and sell training with the built-in course builder and LMS
When not to use SendPulse
- Security teams that require SOC 2 or ISO 27001: only a CASA Tier 2 attestation, dated 19 December 2025, is published
- Organizations that need contractual data residency in a named country, since the data processing agreement commits only to the EU
- Buyers who want a single readable price: the catalog is split into eleven separate product price lists
- Companies that require a named GDPR Article 27 representative or a data protection officer, as neither is appointed
- Teams that need a dedicated legal contact or Western European phone support: everything goes through one support address, and phone lines exist only in the United States, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Brazil and Mexico
How to use SendPulse
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Create a free account with an email address or a Google or Facebook login, with no credit card required
- Sign in through login.sendpulse.com and work from the single dashboard that hosts every module
- Import your contacts and build a first campaign from one of the 140+ editable templates in the drag-and-drop email editor
- Schedule the send, run an A/B test and segment the list statically or dynamically
- Pick a messaging channel and launch a chatbot from a pre-built AI flow template, available on every plan including the free one
- Assemble a website or landing page from a template for a store, SaaS product, online school, service business, portfolio or event, editing the mobile and desktop versions separately
- Publish on a SendPulse subdomain or connect your own domain: SSL, DDoS protection and storage are handled for you
- Use the Use AI button in the editor to generate layout, copy or pop-ups, with 30 free prompts before you connect your own OpenAI key
- Track contacts, deals and pipelines in the CRM, invite colleagues, then chain channels together in an Automation 360 workflow
- For advanced use, generate an API key and connect the REST API, the official n8n node or the MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Unusually broad functional coverage for the price: email, SMS, web push, chatbots on six channels, CRM, website builder, LMS and pop-ups in a single subscription
- A permanent and genuinely usable free plan, with 15,000 emails a month, three chatbots, one website and the CRM, and no credit card required
- Modules are natively connected, so there is no integration work to build between the CRM, the chatbots and email
- Multi-provider AI with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and DeepSeek rather than a single imposed model
- An official MCP server that lets Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor drive the account, which is still rare on this market
- Solid developer surface: documented REST API, client libraries, an official n8n node and a developer marketplace, alongside 24/7 support in five languages and phone lines in five countries
- Ten years in business, more than 200,000 customers, verifiable enterprise references, a public DPA with both sets of Standard Contractual Clauses and a named subprocessor list
Cons
- Pricing is split across eleven product price lists covering email, chatbots, SMTP, CRM, websites, SMS, courses, pop-ups, verification, web push and Viber, which makes the total cost hard to estimate
- Headline prices assume long commitments, with 50% off two-year and 30% off annual website plans and 20% off annual email plans, so the real monthly rate is markedly higher: €12.00 a month instead of €6.00 on the website builder
- Several amounts are injected in JavaScript on the pricing pages and remain unreadable in the static HTML
- OpenAI token costs are not covered by the subscription, and the free allowance stops at five AI flow generations and 30 prompts
- No SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification is published, only a CASA Tier 2 attestation, and data location is committed at EU level only, with no country named
- No GDPR Article 27 representative and no named data protection officer, with a single support address handling support, legal and GDPR requests; the privacy policy dates from 1 April 2024 and the subprocessor annex from 15 April 2022, while the terms were revised on 29 May 2026
- The free trial rolls into a billed subscription automatically with a non-refundable first term, and a Region not supported message can block sign-up without any published list of excluded countries
Pricing & Plans
SendPulse operates on a freemium model. A permanent free plan is available with no time limit and no credit card, covering 15,000 emails per month, three chatbots, one website, the CRM and ten pop-ups. A free trial also exists, but it converts automatically into a billed subscription and the first term is non-refundable. The lowest paid entry point is the website builder Pro plan at €6.00 per month on a two-year commitment, that is €144.00 for two years, or €12.00 per month without commitment. On the email side, plans for up to 500 subscribers billed annually are Standard at €8.80 per month (€105.60 per year), Pro at €10.56 per month (€126.72 per year) and Enterprise at €14.78 per month (€177.41 per year, minimum 2,500 contacts). Pay As You Go bundles of 10,000 emails cost €38.00 for Standard, €45.60 for Pro and €63.84 for Enterprise. Discounts of 20% for annual and 10% for six-month billing apply to email plans, and 50% for two-year and 30% for annual billing to the website builder. Payment is accepted by PayPal, card, invoice for legal entities, bank transfer and Privat24 in Ukraine, and unused funds may be refunded on a reasoned request within 30 days. Amounts were recorded in euros from Europe and the displayed currency may vary by country. OpenAI token costs remain the customer's responsibility.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how SendPulse handles your data.
GDPR overview
SendPulse states that its handling of personal data is in full compliance with the principles set forth in the EU GDPR. Concrete evidence exists: a public data processing agreement at sendpulse.com/legal/processing incorporating both the controller-to-processor and processor-to-processor Standard Contractual Clauses of Decision 2021/914 of 4 June 2021; a named list of five subprocessors in Annex III (AWS, Contabo GmbH, Hetzner Online GmbH, velia.net Internetdienste GmbH and Google LLC), last updated 15 April 2022; explicit mention of the rights of access under Article 15, rectification and erasure, answered within 30 days; and an Article 28 audit right exercisable at the customer's expense. Two gaps stand out. No Article 27 EU representative and no data protection officer are named on the SendPulse side, the DPOs quoted being those of its hosting subprocessors, and every request goes to a single address, support@sendpulse.com. Disputes fall under Delaware state and federal courts.
Who owns the data?
The publisher is SendPulse Inc., 220 E 23rd St #401, New York. Its documents separate the Member or User, meaning the paying customer, from the Subscriber, meaning that customer's own contacts; SendPulse has no direct relationship with the latter. Under the data processing agreement the customer acts as controller, or as processor, and SendPulse acts only as processor, so the customer keeps ownership and control of its lists. Mailing lists can be exported or downloaded at any time and only authorized employees may view them. Access, rectification and deletion requests are handled free of charge within 30 days, and closing an account permanently deletes the account and all data associated with it. The privacy policy is dated 1 April 2024.
Reuse rights
Customers can reuse their own data without asking permission: mailing lists can be exported or downloaded from SendPulse at any time and used elsewhere, and terminating an account permanently deletes everything held. SendPulse itself collects names, dates of birth, email addresses, gender, occupation, demographic data, IP addresses, browser data and behavioral signals, and may enrich them from public databases, social networks, data providers and marketing partners. Campaign emails carry a tracking pixel and rewritten links so that opens and clicks can be measured. The privacy policy states that SendPulse does not use or share users' and their subscribers' data with third parties for AI model training without the data owner's explicit consent. The Gmail integration analyzes and stores incoming and outgoing messages including attachments, under Google's Limited Use requirements, with no advertising use and no human reading without explicit agreement; Google Sheets and Google Calendar access is limited to the task at hand and the data is deleted when the integration is removed. Content sent through the OpenAI integration transits OpenAI's public API under OpenAI's own agreement. Payment card details are never stored and go straight to the payment provider.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
SendPulse does not name a hosting country. Annex III of its data processing agreement lists five subprocessors and places them in Europe: AWS, with the statement that the Amazon data center is located in the EU; Contabo GmbH in Munich, also described as an EU data center; Hetzner Online GmbH in Gunzenhausen, Germany; velia.net Internetdienste GmbH in Cologne; and Google LLC in Mountain View, for which no location is given. The commitment therefore stops at EU level, with no contractual country-level residency. As a network observation rather than a published statement, the public IP address of the domain resolves to Hetzner Online GmbH (AS24940) in Falkenstein, Germany, without anycast. Transfers are framed by the Standard Contractual Clauses of Decision 2021/914, in both the controller-to-processor and processor-to-processor versions. The subprocessor annex was last updated on 15 April 2022. On security, SendPulse states that it stores no payment card data, keeps its database servers fully redundant and takes daily backups; it obtained a CASA Tier 2 attestation on 19 December 2025 and runs an Open Bug Bounty program.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting SendPulse.
- The free trial converts into a billed subscription automatically, and if it is not cancelled in time the first term is not refundable
- Headline prices assume a one-year or two-year commitment: the monthly rate can be twice as high, at €12.00 a month against €6.00 on the website builder
- OpenAI token costs are not included in the subscription, and the free allowance stops at 30 prompts and five AI flow generations
- The domain offered free for one year through IONOS becomes chargeable at IONOS rates from the second year, monthly subscriptions renew automatically unless switched off in the account, and a monthly SMTP subscription can be upgraded automatically when the quota is exceeded
- Creating several free accounts is explicitly forbidden by the terms of service
- Legal documents are of uneven age, with a privacy policy dated 1 April 2024 and a subprocessor list dated 15 April 2022, so they are worth checking before a sensitive purchase; a Region not supported message may also block sign-up with no published list of excluded countries
- Leaning on the AI writer for every email, page and reply can flatten the brand voice and dull the team's own editorial judgment: the generated copy is a draft to review, not a finished message
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low for standard use. Sign-up is free, immediate and needs no credit card, and every editor, whether website, email, chatbot or pop-up, is drag-and-drop with pre-built templates. Nothing has to be hosted: SSL, DDoS protection and storage are included. Residual steps are connecting a custom domain, verifying senders and configuring SMTP. Advanced use requires a technical profile: REST API, n8n node, MCP server with a generated API key, custom code in pages, and your own OpenAI key beyond the free allowance. Personalized onboarding starts with the email Pro plan, backed by a help center, SendPulse Academy and 24/7 support.

Should you pick SendPulse?
SendPulse packs an unusual amount of ground into one subscription: email, SMS, web push, six chatbot channels, live chat, a CRM, a website builder, an online course platform and pop-ups, all natively connected so nothing has to be wired together. For a small business or a freelancer, that combination at this price is the main argument, and the permanent free plan makes it easy to judge before paying anything.
The AI layer is real and genuinely multi-provider, with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and DeepSeek, but it remains a content production assistant: it writes copy, generates flows, images and translations, and helps inside the CRM. It is not the core of the product. The official MCP server, which lets Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor operate the account in natural language, is the more distinctive differentiator and is still rare on this market.
The trade-off is pricing legibility. Eleven separate product price lists, headline rates that assume one-year or two-year commitments, several amounts injected in JavaScript and OpenAI tokens billed on top make the real total cost hard to pin down before signing. Compliance is the second reservation: GDPR alignment is claimed rather than demonstrated, with a public data processing agreement and Standard Contractual Clauses on one side, but no Article 27 representative, no named DPO, a privacy policy dated 1 April 2024, a subprocessor annex from 15 April 2022 and a single address for every kind of request.
Ten years in business, more than 200,000 customers and visible enterprise references give the platform real solidity. It is a strong candidate for small and medium businesses and independent professionals who want to consolidate their stack, while an IT department with strict compliance requirements will want a closer look first, particularly at data residency and certification.
