Rely is a Spanish-built industrial quality-control platform running on Vision Language Models: factories describe in plain language what to check instead of training a model per defect. It covers logistics, pharma, steel, food and automotive lines.
What is Rely?
Rely is an industrial quality-control platform published by Rely Technologies S.L. of Vigo, Spain. Its argument sits in the homepage headline, in Spanish: Deja de entrenar modelos. Empieza a inspeccionar. - stop training models, start inspecting. The product is defined against conventional machine vision. Traditional AI inspection, as the site describes it, needs thousands of images, manual labelling, a long training run and a separate model for each product, defect and condition. Rely instead uses Vision Language Models, which take an image together with a written instruction: you write what has to be verified, the site's own example being that the cap is properly seated and the label has no creases, and the system interprets both the picture and the sentence.
The platform is sold into five verticals with twenty-one catalogued use cases: logistics, pharmaceuticals, steel, food and automotive. It connects to the cameras, PLCs and vision systems already installed on the line, speaking RTSP and GenICam and working with IP cameras. The FAQ claims a 0.4-second cycle time on projects in production, and says that below that it is the speed of communication with the PLC or the SCADA, not Rely, that sets the limit. Deployment is local (in house) or in the cloud, according to the client's requirements. Every inspection is recorded, so results can be reviewed, patterns detected and the place and cause of defects understood.
Two satellites surround the platform. Rely Go is a Plug and Play hardware kit in a case - an RTX 5000-series PC, 6 MP PoE cameras, tripods, a PoE switch and a rugged tablet - meant to validate a vision case in hours. Rely Sightline is a free browser-based 3D optical simulator for sizing sensor, focal length, working distance and resolution before any hardware is bought.
The company traces back to Siali Technologies, founded in 2018 in Cantabria by two engineers, whose first product was tried in automotive and then in wood; the move to VLMs is the current chapter. Named customers include Global Steel Wire, FUSHIMA, Ecrimesa, Celsa Group and Grupo Red Electrica. Rely claims more than 15 million items inspected, 20,000 defective products stopped before reaching the client, return on investment in under a year and a 98% integration success rate against a 20% sector average - all vendor figures, published without source or method.

GDPR overview
GDPR compliance is explicit rather than implied. The privacy policy names Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 and states that a record of processing activities is kept. The controller is RELY TECHNOLOGIES S.L in Vigo; as an EU-established company it needs no Article 27 representative. Rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability are set out, exercised in writing with proof of identity at admin@relyqa.com or the Vigo postal address, with a right of complaint to the Agencia Espanola de Proteccion de Datos. Technical and organisational measures, professional secrecy and continuous supervision against international standards are claimed, but no certification is named, no data protection officer is identified and no processor list is published. The three legal texts are dated 8 July 2026, and the service is closed to under-18s.
Who owns the data?
Ownership of customer data is addressed in the homepage FAQ rather than in a contract. Rely states that the images used to train the system leave the plant only to reach its own server, and only for training; that it regards them as part of the customer's material and know-how; and that neither those images nor the trained AI model will be used for any application outside the project. Images captured in production stay on the customer's own drives or servers, managed by the customer. The legal notice separately claims the website's own content for Rely Technologies SL or its licensors. For personal data, the controller is RELY TECHNOLOGIES S.L, Vigo, CIF B56549090. Reuse rights
On the product side, the images captured in production and the inspection records stay on the customer's own storage and are managed by the customer, so reusing them internally calls for no permission from Rely; the images sent for training are, by the vendor's own statement, confined to that customer's project. Website content is the opposite case: the legal notice reserves the site's texts, images, sound and video to Rely Technologies SL or to the third parties that authorised it, so they are not free to reuse. Two different things have to be kept apart. Customer data first: the FAQ states that Rely can be deployed locally, in house, or in the cloud, according to the client's requirements, and that the images captured in production are stored locally on the customer's own hard drives or servers, which the customer manages. Images used for training leave the plant only to reach the publisher's server, and only for training. No hosting country, region or provider is named anywhere on the site for either mode, so the jurisdiction of the cloud option is unknown. The privacy policy adds that some suppliers acting as processors may be located outside the European Economic Area, under an adequacy decision, appropriate safeguards, binding corporate rules or authorisation from the Spanish supervisory authority. Where a conventional system needs thousands of labelled images and one model per product, per defect and per condition, Rely asks for a sentence. That is a difference in kind, not a marketing gradient, and the site supports it with named customers, Global Steel Wire, Ecrimesa and Celsa Group among them, and with per-customer figures instead of anonymous praise. The publisher is identifiable, with a Vigo address, a CIF, a phone number and three legal texts dated 8 July 2026, and it deploys on the customer's own servers or in the cloud.
