What is Geostru AI?

Geostru AI is a platform of browser-based engineering and geoscience applications published at geostru.ai, with the applications themselves running on nx.geostru.ai. It is operated by ENGSOFT SRL, a Romanian company in Cluj-Napoca which since August 2015 has handled the web services, e-commerce and software development of the GeoStru brand — an Italian engineering software house that traces its origins to the early 2000s.

The organising idea is a division of labour between the AI and the mathematics. All calculations are performed exclusively by GeoStru's algorithms; the artificial intelligence assists with analysis, configuration and interpretation but does not generate autonomous or unverifiable solutions. The publisher pushes this further than most: the calculation kernel is ported verbatim from the desktop products, keeping single-precision arithmetic where the original used it, so that results reproduce the desktop rather than drift from it.

Around twenty applications, all carrying the NX suffix, cover infrastructure and structural work (RPD for road pavements), geotechnics and geology (Loadcap for bearing capacity, Slope for slope stability, Liquiter for liquefaction, MRE for reinforced soil, SRS for soil nailing, GDW for gabion walls, RSL III and PS Advanced for seismic response), rock mechanics (GMS, Rock Mechanics, RockPlane), hydrogeology and hydraulics (HID, Hydrogeo, Runoff Lab), in-situ testing (Dynamic Probing), topography (Maps, Trispace) and geology (GeoSection, Stratigrapher). GeoDropbox adds a cloud GIS archive where projects are pinned on a map and searched with AI. Referenced standards include NTC 2018 and Circolare 2019, Eurocode 7 and 8, AASHTO LRFD and 1993, ICMS 2018, ISRM, DIN 4023 and CNR 146/92.

Access is entirely browser-based — no installation, no hardware key — with the interface in six languages, and the calculation methods are also exposed to AI clients through MCP servers. Commercially, a single prepaid credit wallet is spent across every application. Each session generates a unique audit ID allowing a full reconstruction of inputs, outputs and computation steps, which is the platform's answer to a designer's obligation to assess the reliability of the code used.

There is no free plan and no free trial. Access is sold as prepaid credit packs, in euro and exclusive of VAT, spent from a single wallet valid across every GeoStru NX application. The lowest entry point is the Starter pack at 49 EUR for 500 credits (0.098 EUR per credit); the unit price falls as volume rises, down to 0.067 EUR per credit on the largest pack. Credits carry no subscription and no automatic renewal, but they expire twelve months after top-up and purchases are not refunded, whether the credits are unused, partly used or expired. GeoDropbox cloud storage is billed separately, as a monthly subscription starting at 12 EUR per month; it buys storage only and opens no calculation application, which is why it is not treated here as the entry price of the tool. GDPR overview

Implementation is concrete and specific rather than declaratory. The privacy policy is drafted under Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and was last updated in July 2026. It names the controller — ENGSOFT SRL, fiscal code 30277934, trade register J2012001517126, Cluj-Napoca — and maps each purpose to a legal basis: contract (6.1.b), legal obligation (6.1.c), legitimate interest (6.1.f) and consent for marketing (6.1.a). Articles 15 to 22 rights are exercised at privacy@geostru.ai, an Article 28 data processing agreement is offered on request, and Article 32 measures are itemised (TLS encryption in transit, dedicated authentication, per-customer data isolation, access controls, security monitoring). The Romanian ANSPDCP is named as lead supervisory authority. Notably, the site never claims to be GDPR compliant in so many words — it simply applies the regulation.

Who owns the data?

Under the terms of use, you keep ownership of the projects, files and data you upload, and the outputs you generate — calculation reports, drawings, exported files — may be used freely in your professional work. EngSoft receives only the rights strictly necessary to host and process your content in order to deliver the service, including through the sub-processors named in the privacy policy. The roles are split explicitly: for account and usage data EngSoft is the data controller, while for the content you upload — and any third-party personal data it contains — you are the controller and EngSoft acts as your processor under Article 28 GDPR, working solely on your instructions. A data processing agreement is made available on request.

Reuse rights

You may reuse everything the platform produces for you without asking permission: the terms state that generated calculation reports, drawings and exports are free to use in your professional work, and every application ships export functions (DOCX, PDF, DXF, CSV and others) precisely so that you keep your own copies. On the publisher's side, use of your content is deliberately narrow. Uploaded files are processed on your instructions only, to run the service. The AI features — item extraction, OCR and the assistants — pass through Google's Gemini API on a paid plan, under terms where content is not used to train artificial intelligence models. No automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR is carried out, and the privacy policy states that personal data is not sold to third parties. Derived artefacts such as extracted text, embeddings and assistant conversation history are deleted together with the source content.

Hosting summary

Files and content uploaded to the platform are hosted on Google cloud infrastructure located in the European Union and in Switzerland, a country covered by a European Commission adequacy decision, and are encrypted in transit. Some AI processing, also carried out by Google, may take place outside the EU in the United States; those transfers are governed by the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
