PROinfra is an AI-based predictive maintenance platform for the upkeep of built infrastructure. It is a brand of PROFI Engineering Systems AG, a German IT house based in Darmstadt, and its own site defines it as a platform for the integration and analysis of infrastructure, sensor and maintenance data. It can be pointed at a specific class of asset, such as bridges, roads, tunnels or retaining structures, and through the vendor's sensor partnership the same solution is offered for car parks and underground garages, tunnels and metro lines, and industrial plant. At its core sits a structured database holding the factors that bear on a structure: its master records, weather, traffic loading and geological conditions. On top of that, PROinfra applies machine learning to questions an inspection report cannot answer. It forecasts how a structure's condition grade will develop and calculates how long remains before it reaches an inadequate state, defined as a grade of 3.5 or worse. It shows what stopping investment would do to that trajectory. It predicts service life while accounting for rising traffic volumes, so that diversion routes can be planned in a way that lengthens the life of the structures carrying them. It compares the construction and upkeep costs actually incurred by comparable structure types, so a new build can be specified on evidence. Alongside sensors, the software adds automatic plausibility checking and anomaly detection, time series trend analysis, predictive damage models and maintenance planning driven by measured condition rather than fixed intervals. Results appear on an integrated map with simple filters and search. The product is modular: further analyses and forecasts, additional structure types, BIM data and company-specific views up to complete style guides can be added. It runs in PROFI's cloud, on-premises in the customer's own data centre, or as a hybrid that can be switched at any time. It is sold as a project rather than a subscription. No price is published anywhere, and adoption runs through a five-stage engagement covering data work, installation, configuration, maintenance and, in cloud mode, operation and support by the vendor.

Implementation is documented for the website, and only for it. PROFI Engineering Systems AG is named as the controller, with its Darmstadt address, telephone number and profi@profi-ag.de. An external data protection officer is appointed under Article 37: Robert Tot of Beocon GmbH, Ostendstr. 17, 64319 Pfungstadt, reachable at datenschutz@beocon.de. The notice sets out its legal bases article by article, citing Article 6(1)(a) to (f), Article 9(2)(a), Article 49(1)(a) and § 25(1) TTDSG, and lists the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, plus withdrawal of consent and complaint to a supervisory authority. TLS encryption and Borlabs consent management are described. No Article 27 representative is named, and none is required of a German controller. Nothing is published about how the PROinfra platform itself processes customer data.
Who owns the data?
PROFI's general terms of business draw a clear line. Under Part A, clause XI, the customer keeps ownership of all its confidential information and of every intellectual property right it already held, while PROFI and its suppliers keep ownership of the standard software, its documentation, updates, services, deliverables and the associated rights, reserving anything not expressly licensed. Clause X binds both sides to mutual confidentiality for five years after each individual contract ends. Clause II leaves the backing up of data on the customer's own machines to the customer. Note that the published privacy notice covers the website only, not the data handled inside PROinfra itself.
Reuse rights
The terms place no restriction on what customers do with their own material: they retain ownership of their confidential information and pre-existing rights, so no permission from PROFI is needed to reuse it. What they may not do is redistribute the software. Part B grants a non-exclusive, non-sublicensable right of use, capped at the number of licences agreed and tied to one machine per licence, with additional licences required if usage grows. On the vendor's side, the published privacy notice concerns the website alone. It describes processing for error-free delivery of the site and, after consent, for analysing browsing behaviour; it names the third parties involved, among them Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing, Azure CDN, Microsoft Teams, Borlabs Cookie, Meta, X, LinkedIn and XING; and it warns explicitly that some of these transfer personal data to the United States and other third countries where an EU-equivalent level of protection cannot be guaranteed. Hosting summary
Two different questions arise here, and only one is answered. For the website, the privacy notice names the host: noris network AG, Thomas-Mann-Straße 16-20, 90471 Nürnberg, Germany. Personal data collected on the site, which may include IP addresses, contact requests, metadata and communication data, contract data, contact details, names and access records, is stored on that provider's servers. A technical check on 31 August 2026 found the domain resolving to 217.160.0.178, an IONOS SE address in Frankfurt am Main: a different provider from the one declared, though also in Germany, so the jurisdiction holds either way. For the product, PROinfra runs either in the cloud, with operation and support handled by PROFI, or on-premises in the customer's own data centre, with a hybrid switch possible at any time. No country and no data centre is named for the cloud option. The privacy notice also warns that third-party tools embedded in the site may transfer personal data to the United States and other third countries where an EU-equivalent level of protection cannot be guaranteed.

- Nothing is published about how customer data is processed inside the platform, so there is no retention rule, no hosting location for the cloud mode and no subprocessor list to review
