What is Proofminder?
Proofminder is an AI crop intelligence platform published by Proofminder Services Ltd., a Hungarian company based in Budapest. It takes high-resolution RGB imagery captured by drones - down to less than half a centimetre per pixel - and runs computer vision and machine learning models over it to describe what is happening on individual plants and individual leaves, across thousands of hectares, several regions and successive seasons.
What comes out is not imagery but decisions. The platform counts plants, finds gaps and estimates stand density; classifies plants by size and tracks growth uniformity; detects weeds early, both green-on-green and green-on-brown, and turns them into spot-spraying and variable-rate application maps; identifies disease such as flavescence doree in vineyards or greening in citrus orchards; forecasts flowering and counts blossoms; estimates yield potential; and quantifies weather, pest or wildlife damage with GPS-tagged evidence. In hybrid seed corn it flags missed tassels along the whole production cycle.
No proprietary hardware is involved. Proofminder insists that standard drones and cameras are enough, and that its outputs are meant to be fed straight into the sprayers, drones and machinery a farm already runs. Where a customer has no flight capability, the work is routed through the company's own network of drone service providers, who receive mission guidelines and flight plans.
Crop coverage is broad - seed corn, cotton, cereals and field crops, vegetables, vineyards, citrus and other orchards, sunflower, soybean, sugar beet, tomato, pineapple - and the company says it builds bespoke models for new crops and new use cases within weeks.
Six audiences are addressed directly: large food producers, seed production companies, open-field growers and independent agronomists, orchard and vineyard growers, drone service providers, and crop insurers and certification experts. Claimed results include up to 80% less chemical input, a two- to fivefold return on investment and up to 10% more yield. Traction is unusually concrete: five continents, adoption claimed by eight of the world's ten largest seed producers, named customers including Corteva Agriscience, Syngenta and Nuziveedu Seeds. Access is by account in a browser; there is no self-service sign-up.

Pricing & Plans
Proofminder publishes no price. There is no pricing page on the website and no amount appears anywhere in the collected pages, so no entry-level figure can be stated. No permanent free plan is announced, and the Terms of Use raise the possibility of free use only in conditional terms. What the contract does establish is that all fees are exclusive of taxes and payable in euros, that the invoicing and service period is twelve months payable in advance at the start of the period, that recurring subscription packages renew automatically unless cancelled by email before the term ends, and that no refund is due for a partly used period. Pricing is therefore set by quotation, after contact with the team.

GDPR overview
GDPR is addressed explicitly. The privacy policy states that personal data is always processed in line with the GDPR and with the national rules applicable to Proofminder Services Ltd., which declares itself a data controller. Four legal bases are listed - performance of a contract, consent, legitimate interest and legal obligation - together with six data subject rights: access, update or deletion, rectification, objection, restriction and portability, plus withdrawal of consent. A single contact address, privacy@proofminder.com, is given. Governing law and jurisdiction are Hungarian, so the publisher sits inside the European Union and no Article 27 representative is required or named. Several gaps remain: no data protection officer, no data processing agreement, no subprocessor list and no stated hosting country. The policy has not been revised since 1 March 2023.
Who owns the data?
Proofminder's Terms of Use leave ownership of Client Data with the customer: all graphics, images, files and data transmitted to the platform, and the reports generated from them, remain the client's property. In exchange, the client grants Proofminder a non-exclusive licence to copy, store, export, adapt, edit and translate that data as far as running the service requires, with the right to sublicense it to its hosting, connectivity and telecommunications providers. One clause deserves close reading: aggregated Benchmark Data derived from Client Data becomes the sole property of Proofminder, which may use it and sell it on to any other client as part of its service.
Reuse rights
The Terms of Use describe what the vendor may do with customer data far more precisely than what the customer may do with it. On the client side the answer is simple: the imagery you transmit and the reports produced from it stay yours, and you may reuse both freely, without asking permission. On the vendor side, Proofminder holds a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence over the data generated by your use of the service, limited on paper to maintaining and improving the platform, plus the right to build aggregated Benchmark Data that it owns outright and may resell to other clients. Nothing in the documents mentions AI model training in so many words, and no opt-out is offered. On the website itself, personal data feeds account creation, administrative notices, consent-based marketing and Google Analytics through Google Ireland Limited.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
Proofminder publishes no hosting country and no hosting region for customer data. The Terms of Use say only that Client Data is stored on the cloud by the system, and that Proofminder may sublicense its rights to its hosting, connectivity and telecommunications providers; the same document also mentions an on-premise deployment option alongside the cloud service. Governing law and exclusive jurisdiction are Hungarian, which places the publisher inside the European Union, but jurisdiction is not a hosting guarantee. Two facts should not be mistaken for hosting disclosures. The public WordPress site resolves to an IP address geolocated in the United States, on Google Ireland Limited's network - that describes the marketing site, not the platform. And the privacy policy names Google Analytics, operated by Google Ireland Limited, whose data is usually transferred to a Google server in the United States - that concerns website analytics, not field imagery. Anyone with a data residency requirement will have to obtain the answer in writing from the vendor, because no page on the site provides it.

Everything about it - the absence of a price list, the twelve-month service period, the contact form standing in for a sign-up page - says this is a tool bought after a conversation, not discovered on a free tier. What it offers in return is depth: analysis at the scale of a single leaf, a crop list that keeps widening, and models built to order for use cases that did not exist a season earlier.
The industry validation is unusually concrete for a company of this size. Eight of the world's ten largest seed producers, named customers such as Corteva Agriscience, Syngenta and Nuziveedu Seeds, deployment across five continents, and a run of recognitions from Forbes, SVG Ventures, the EBRD and AgFunder are not the usual startup vanity metrics.
Three reservations should be settled before signing. First, the pricing opacity: nothing lets a buyer size the budget before a sales call, and the annual commitment is payable in advance with no refunds.
