GDPR overview
GDPR compliance is claimed explicitly. The FAQ states: "Yes. We're GDPR compliant and use enterprise-grade security. All data is stored within the EU to comply with data residency regulations." The privacy policy adds that all data is hosted in Dublin, Ireland with no cross-border transfer, names info@trollwall.ai as the DPO contact, invokes legitimate interest as the legal basis for Other Information, and lists the rights of access, rectification, erasure and restriction, the right to object to direct marketing, and the right to complain to a local supervisory authority. Who owns the data?
TrollWall's privacy policy splits responsibility in two. For Customer Data, meaning the comments and social content collected from the connected channels, the customer is the controller and TrollWall the processor, and the policy states that TrollWall shares that data only on the customer's instructions. TrollWall is itself the controller of what it calls Other Information: account details, logs, device data and cookies. Customers keep control of their Workspace and can access, modify, export, share and delete the data it holds. No third-party service passwords are stored, MCP access (read and act, separately) can be revoked at any time, and YouTube access can be withdrawn from Google's own security settings.
Reuse rights
Customer Data is processed according to the customer's instructions and the Customer Agreement, so the customer can reuse, export and delete it from its Workspace without asking TrollWall for permission. TrollWall uses Other Information to provide, maintain and secure the service, answer requests, bill, and prevent fraud and security incidents, and to develop features such as relevance ranking, usage-based suggestions and predictive models. Aggregated or de-identified data may be used for any business purpose. Data obtained through the YouTube API is limited to comment moderation under the Google API Services User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements, and the policy states that TrollWall "does not transfer any user data to third parties for any purpose unrelated to providing or improving our application's functionality". Requested permissions cover reading and moderating comments only: the publisher states it never posts on the customer's behalf and does not ask for administrator rights, and MCP permissions are set per user and per social account with Admin, Community Manager, Moderator and Viewer roles.
