Overview

What is Convoso?

Convoso is a cloud contact center platform sold to outbound sales and lead generation teams. It is published by Convoso, Inc., based in Woodland Hills, California, and the company traces itself back to 2006, which makes it one of the older names in a category now crowded with AI-first entrants.

The engine is the dialer. Convoso runs predictive, power, preview and progressive modes, and layers on the parts that decide whether a call is answered at all: Convoso Ignite scores outbound numbers in real time, caller ID reputation management and STIR/SHAKEN attestation try to keep those numbers out of spam folders, and voicemail detection keeps agents off dead air. Campaigns run across voice, SMS and email.

The AI sits on two levels. Voso.ai, the intelligent virtual agent, engages leads over voice and SMS to qualify prospects, chase follow-ups, book appointments and cover after-hours inquiries. A newer Voice AI Agent, still in early access, runs a real-time audio pipeline of speech detection, transcription, reasoning and speech synthesis, derives conversation flows from your historical recordings through an Auto Workflow engine, and falls back to a backup model if the primary one stumbles mid-call.

What genuinely sets the product apart is the compliance layer, which is deeper than most dialers bother with. DNC scrubbing covers internal, federal and state lists; a reassigned numbers database weeds out numbers that changed hands; StateTracker applies state-level mini-TCPA rules per lead; Attempt Control Manager and Message Control Manager cap calls and voicemails per person across every campaign; a lead deduplicator keeps one golden record; dynamic scripting keeps required disclosures on screen.

Around all this sit workflow automation at the lead level, real-time monitoring with coaching alerts, reporting and analytics, an open REST API and a Salesforce application. Convoso is SOC 2 certified and publishes a trust center. It is sold by quote only, on annual terms, with no free trial and no self-service signup.

What it does

  • Dial lead lists in predictive, power, preview or progressive mode
  • Scrub numbers against internal, federal and state do-not-call lists before any call goes out
  • Hand routine qualification and follow-up calls to an AI voice agent over phone and SMS
  • Cap dial attempts and voicemail drops per contact across every campaign and duplicate record
  • Defend caller ID reputation with real-time DID scoring and STIR/SHAKEN attestation
  • Trigger cross-channel follow-ups from behavior-based rules at the individual lead level
  • Move lead data in and out through an open REST API or the Convoso for Salesforce app

  • BPOs and lead generation firms running many simultaneous campaigns over shared lead pools
  • Insurance, mortgage, solar, home services and legal intake teams calling US consumers
  • Compliance officers who need attempt caps, DNC scrubbing and state dialing rules enforced automatically

When not to use Convoso

  • Individual consumers: the terms of use state the site is meant for corporate entities, not individuals
  • Small teams that want to sign up online and see a price before speaking to a salesperson
  • Buyers who need to test the product on a free trial or stay on a permanent free tier

Pricing

Pricing & Plans

Convoso offers neither a permanent free plan nor a free trial, and publishes no price point at all: no rate card, no entry tier and no currency appear anywhere on the pricing page. Figures are quoted after a consultation and are built from the number of seats, the features chosen and the integrations required. Annual commitments are the default, with a 20% discount on annual plans advertised as currently available and volume-based pricing offered to larger teams. Standard carrier fees tied to telecom usage are billed separately from the software subscription, and optional add-ons such as omnichannel sit outside the base package. A prospective buyer should expect to speak to a sales representative before obtaining any figure.

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how Convoso handles your data.

GDPR overview

There is no mention of the GDPR anywhere on Convoso's site. Twenty pages were collected, including the full privacy policy, the terms of use and the trust center, and the letters GDPR appear neither in the visible text nor in the underlying HTML. No EU representative is designated under Article 27, no data protection officer is named, and no European entity or address is published. The privacy policy is instead a mosaic of United States state notices, from California and Colorado to Connecticut, Delaware, Montana, Minnesota, Iowa, Virginia and Texas, each granting rights under its own statute. Requests go through a dedicated portal, Global Privacy Control signals are honored, and a refusal can be appealed within ninety days. European buyers have no published commitment to lean on; privacy@convoso.com is the only stated contact.

Who owns the data?

Convoso splits its terms in two, and only half of that is public. The website terms of use govern visitors; a paying account is governed by a separate Convoso Services Agreement that is never published, so the contractual position on customer call data cannot be read from the site. An indemnity clause points to a "Data Processing Policy" binding on Convoso, which is also unpublished. What the public pages do say is narrower: whatever you hand over is governed by the privacy policy, customer information is disclosed to authorities only on a valid legal basis and call content only under a warrant, and the self-hosted Voice AI Agent keeps call traffic inside your own environment.

Reuse rights

The website terms grant no reuse rights worth the name. You may read the site and download material produced by its own tools; you may not copy, republish, mirror, reverse-engineer or create derivative works from its content or from any Convoso service. Anything you pull in from third parties through the site remains your responsibility and must respect those parties' own terms. Running the other way, Convoso's privacy policy states plainly that it processes personal data for the purpose of training large language models, and that it shares personal identifiers, internet activity and financial information with ad networks for behavioral advertising. It declares it does not sell data for monetary consideration. The published opt-out covers selling, targeted advertising and profiling, not model training.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Convoso says it keeps data no longer than necessary, then publishes unusually long defaults. Cookies and browsing data are deleted or anonymized within twenty years. Order data, including name, address, phone number and card number, is kept for the life of the contract and twenty years after your last purchase. Support correspondence is kept up to twenty years. Marketing sign-up data is kept until you opt out or ask for deletion, though a record of the opt-out is retained so you are not contacted again. Records of privacy requests are kept for at least twenty-four months, and security data for as long as legal obligations require. Data may be kept beyond these periods in anonymized form. The policy was last updated on 30 December 2025.

Hosting summary

Convoso publishes no hosting country and no hosting region for customer data, neither in the privacy policy nor in the trust center. What it does publish is a security posture: the company is SOC 2 certified, and its trust center, operated by Sprinto, lists controls grouped by product, data, network, application, endpoint and corporate security, alongside more than thirty policies including encryption, data retention, vendor management, asset management and endpoint security. Security, privacy and compliance documentation is available on request through that portal rather than published outright. The AI posture section reports human-in-the-loop review, 97% accuracy and provider-based data retention. The privacy request portal itself is operated by TrueVault. The marketing site resolves to an anycast address on Amazon infrastructure, but that describes where the website lives, not where call recordings or lead data are stored. Buyers with a data residency requirement will have to ask directly.

Watch-outs

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Convoso.

  • The privacy policy states personal data is processed to train large language models, and the published opt-out rights cover selling, advertising and profiling but not training
  • No GDPR mention and no EU representative anywhere on the site, so European customers have nothing written to rely on
  • Annual commitment is the default and carrier fees are billed separately and vary with usage, so the invoice is not the subscription
  • The website terms cap Convoso's total liability at USD 100 and set exclusive jurisdiction in Los Angeles, California
  • The terms also disclaim all responsibility for results produced by AI, warning that AI can generate inaccurate or false output
  • Default retention in the privacy policy runs to twenty years for browsing, order and support data, with anonymized retention beyond
  • The Voice AI Agent page still carries an uncleaned drafting note asking the team to supply concurrency and throughput figures, which suggests capacity claims are not yet committed
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low for the buyer, because Convoso does the work. There is no self-service setup: onboarding specialists configure the platform for your industry, and a dedicated Customer Success Manager stays on afterwards. Importing leads and launching a campaign is presented as fast, and an AI voice agent can reportedly be configured, browser-tested and put live in under an hour on an existing Convoso installation. The technical effort concentrates in integration: connecting a CRM means working through the open REST API, and since no public developer documentation exists, that work runs through the vendor.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is Convoso?
Convoso is an AI-powered cloud contact center platform combining outbound and inbound dialing, omnichannel engagement over voice, SMS and email, workflow automation and conversational virtual agents. It is aimed at sales and lead generation teams rather than general customer service.
What dialing modes does it support?
Predictive, power, preview and progressive, so the dialing strategy can be matched to the campaign. Convoso Ignite adds real-time DID scoring and AI-driven dialing optimization on top.
What does the AI actually do?
Voso.ai, the intelligent virtual agent, holds conversations over voice and SMS to qualify prospects, follow up on leads, book appointments and handle after-hours inquiries. A separate Voice AI Agent, still in early access, runs a low-latency speech pipeline and builds its call flows from your historical recordings.
How much does Convoso cost?
No price is published. Quotes are built after a consultation from the number of seats, the features selected and the integrations required. Annual plans are the default and currently carry a 20% discount, and carrier fees are billed on top of the subscription.
Is there a free trial?
No. Convoso states it does not offer a free trial and instead provides live customized demos, plus interactive guided tours you can take on the site without contacting sales.
What compliance features are included?
DNC scrubbing against internal, federal and state lists, a reassigned numbers database, StateTracker for state-level mini-TCPA rules, Attempt Control Manager and Message Control Manager for call and voicemail caps, a lead deduplicator, dynamic scripting for disclosures, and STIR/SHAKEN attestation.
Does it integrate with a CRM?
Yes. Convoso offers CRM integrations and an open REST API, with Salesforce and HubSpot named explicitly and a dedicated Convoso for Salesforce application.
Is customer data used to train AI models?
Convoso's privacy policy states it processes personal data for the purpose of training large language models, and its trust center lists fine-tuning under training on customer data. No opt-out is published for model training; the opt-out that exists covers selling, targeted advertising and profiling.
Where is data hosted, and is Convoso certified?
Convoso is SOC 2 certified and runs a public trust center where security, privacy and compliance documentation can be requested. No hosting country or region is published anywhere on the site.
Is there a mobile app?
None was found. No App Store or Google Play link appears on the site; Convoso is used as a web application, with an open REST API for integrations.
Conclusion

Should you pick Convoso?

Convoso is a mature product aimed at a narrow, demanding niche: high-volume outbound calling inside the United States, where a single mishandled dial carries regulatory risk. Nineteen years in, its real differentiator is not the AI badge on the homepage but the compliance machinery underneath it. Attempt caps, voicemail caps, state-level dialing rules, reassigned-number checks and DNC scrubbing are the kind of unglamorous features that separate a contact center platform from a dialer, and Convoso has clearly invested there. The AI layer is real too, with a virtual agent already in production and a more ambitious voice agent in early access, though the latter is described as self-hosted while the rest of the platform is cloud, a tension the site never explains.

The friction is commercial and informational. Nothing about the price is public, there is no trial and no free tier, and the buying path runs entirely through a sales representative on annual terms with carrier fees stacked on top. You cannot estimate a budget from the website, and you cannot try the product before committing. The data posture deserves equal scrutiny: the privacy policy states outright that personal data is processed to train large language models while offering no opt-out for it, the GDPR is never mentioned, no EU representative exists, and no hosting location is published.

For a structured US contact center with a compliance officer and dozens of seats, Convoso is a serious candidate that will repay the sales conversation. For a small team, a European buyer, or anyone who wants to click sign up and see what happens, it is the wrong shape of product entirely.
