CROBenchmark
CROBenchmark runs an AI-powered conversion audit of an eCommerce store in about 15 minutes, scoring 248+ criteria across CRO fundamentals, WCAG accessibility and tracking hygiene, then returning a 0-100 index and 60+ tailored A/B test ideas.
What is CROBenchmark?
CROBenchmark is an AI-powered conversion rate optimisation audit for eCommerce stores, published by the Romanian company Omniconvert. You give it a URL; roughly fifteen minutes later it returns a scored diagnosis of where the store is losing sales.
The audit walks the pages that actually carry a purchase, namely the homepage, product listing pages, product pages, cart and checkout, and grades them against 248+ criteria organised into six dimensions. Three of those surface as headline scores. CRO Basics covers the non-negotiable UX and conversion principles, from navigation clarity to consistent calls to action. Accessibility measures colour contrast, keyboard navigation and screen reader compatibility against WCAG standards. Data Hygiene examines HTTPS, cookie tooling, analytics, heatmaps and experiment tracking, on the argument that an optimisation roadmap built on corrupted measurement is guesswork. The three roll up into a single CRO Index Score between 0 and 100.
What separates the output from a generic checklist is that every finding is weighted by impact and paired with something to do about it. A full audit unlocks 60+ tailored A/B testing ideas, drawn from established CRO patterns but built around the specific issues, page types and opportunities found on that site.
Two features sit alongside the core audit. BrandFeel applies AI sentiment analysis to a brand's Google and Trustpilot reviews, separating how customers talk about product quality, pricing, delivery and support, and comparing that against competitors. The CRO Leaderboard is a public ranking of 1888 sites across 19+ industries and 65 countries, filterable by industry, country and platform, so a store can see where it genuinely stands.
The scoring rubric was built with 100+ named CRO practitioners, and the tool rests on thirteen years of Omniconvert experience covering 70,000+ A/B tests for 2,500+ brands. The same engine produced the CROBenchmark 2026 report, an audit of 7,000+ stores released freely for citation. It is a diagnostic instrument rather than an execution platform: it tells you what to test, and points to Omniconvert Explore to actually run the tests.

When to use CROBenchmark / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if CROBenchmark is the right fit.
When to use CROBenchmark
- eCommerce and DTC teams that want a conversion diagnosis this week rather than a manual audit six weeks from now
- Performance, email and CRO agencies auditing a client's store before proposing a roadmap
- Founders and growth leads at smaller stores, where a 29.99 USD audit fits a budget a consultancy never would
- Marketing and analytics people who suspect their tracking is corrupted but cannot yet prove where
- Product and UX teams needing WCAG accessibility gaps ranked by severity across the whole purchase path
When not to use CROBenchmark
- Teams shopping for a testing platform: CROBenchmark supplies experiment ideas but runs no A/B tests itself
- Anyone who needs an API or a mobile app, since the product exists only as a web application
- Businesses outside eCommerce, as the criteria are built around product listing pages, product pages, cart and checkout
- Individuals and consumers: the terms state the service is strictly business to business
- Organisations wanting continuous monitoring, since each audit is a one-off purchase rather than a subscription
How to use CROBenchmark
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Create an account on the registration page at app.crobenchmark.com
- Or start with the Lite audit through the onboarding page, which requires no payment
- Submit the URL of the store to be audited, one credit covering one full audit of one website
- Skip setup entirely: there is no script to install and nothing to configure
- Wait for the analysis, announced at under fifteen minutes
- Read the CRO Index Score and its three components to see where the store stands
- Work down the findings, which arrive ranked by impact rather than in page order
- Compare the score against peers on the CRO Leaderboard, filtering by industry and country
- Review the BrandFeel sentiment breakdown of your Google and Trustpilot reviews
- Take the 60+ A/B test ideas to your team and run them in a testing tool
Pros & Cons
Pros
- At 29.99 USD per audit with no subscription, a structured CRO diagnosis reaches stores that would never commission a consultancy
- The Lite tier is permanently free rather than a countdown trial, so the output can be judged before paying
- Results in about fifteen minutes instead of the weeks a manual audit takes
- Three axes rarely covered together: conversion practice, WCAG accessibility and tracking hygiene
- The rubric was co-built with 100+ named CRO practitioners, on top of 70,000+ A/B tests run by Omniconvert since 2013
- Competitive benchmarking and the public leaderboard are included from the free tier onwards
- European publisher, data hosted in the Netherlands, an Article 28 DPA published, and the 2026 methodology released openly
Cons
- The homepage contradicts itself on price: one button reads 9.99 USD where every other mention says 29.99 USD
- Multi-credit packages are promoted but no amount is published, and the pricing endpoint returns an empty list
- The criteria count shifts between pages, quoted as 248+, 250+ and 300+
- The terms make no provision for refunding amounts already paid
- No API, no mobile app and no integration with a testing tool, so findings must be carried elsewhere by hand
- The legal documents are Omniconvert's generic terms, written around Reveal and Explore rather than this product
- Aggregated audit data feeds a public leaderboard and a commercial report, and the stance on AI model training is undocumented
Pricing & Plans
There is a permanently free tier. The Lite Audit costs nothing and returns roughly 20% of the findings. The cheapest paid entry point is the Full Audit at 29.99 USD, sold as a single credit covering one complete audit of one website, with no subscription attached. Multi-credit packages are announced as offering better rates, but no amount was published at the time of review. Prices are displayed in local currency through a country selector on the pricing page. The terms provide for no refund of sums already paid.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how CROBenchmark handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR is addressed concretely rather than in passing. Omniconvert SRL is established in Romania, inside the EU, so no Article 27 representative is required or named. A processing agreement based on Article 28 is published as Annex 1 to the terms and is also available inside the customer account. One subprocessor is named outright, Digital Ocean, USA, under signed Standard Contractual Clauses and running on servers in the Netherlands, and the terms guarantee that every subprocessor processes exclusively within the EU, the EEA, an adequate country or under SCCs. Data subject rights are listed in full, including objection to automated decisions and profiling, exercised by dated written request to contact@omniconvert.com. Breach notification, external compliance audits and deletion within 30 days of termination are covered. No SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification is claimed.
Who owns the data?
Under Omniconvert's terms the customer remains the data controller and Omniconvert SRL acts as data processor, handling personal data only on documented instructions through an Article 28 agreement attached as Annex 1. The software itself, including code, images and algorithms, stays the publisher's property. One clause deserves attention: customers authorise Omniconvert to exploit statistical data drawn from their accounts to improve the service and to build benchmarks for internal use or public presentation, provided the output is aggregated beyond any link to an individual controller. Omniconvert may also display a customer's logo as a client reference unless the customer objects in writing.
Reuse rights
Audit results are delivered for the customer's own use, and nothing in the terms restricts acting on them internally or handing them to an agency. The published research is more explicit still: the 2026 benchmark report, its data tables, charts and press kit are free to cite with attribution, and the CRO Leaderboard is openly browsable. Reuse runs the other way too. Omniconvert reserves the right to draw on account data in aggregated, non-identifiable form for its own benchmarks and public presentations, which is how the 7,000-store report was assembled. No licence is granted over the product itself, whose code, images and algorithms remain the publisher's property, and the terms permit no resale or sub-licensing of the service.
Data retention & training
Hosting summary
Omniconvert SRL is established in Bucharest, Romania, and therefore operates inside the European Union. The terms name one IT subprocessor explicitly: Digital Ocean, USA, which has signed adequate Standard Contractual Clauses and runs the processing on servers located in the Netherlands. Beyond that named case, the agreement commits every present and future subprocessor to processing exclusively within an EU member state, within the EEA, in a country recognised as adequate by the European Commission, or under signed SCCs. Customers must be informed of any addition or replacement of a subprocessor and may object in writing within five business days. Two caveats are worth stating. The domain resolves to a Cloudflare anycast node, which reflects content delivery and says nothing about where personal data is stored. More importantly, these commitments come from Omniconvert's general product terms rather than documentation specific to CROBenchmark, so the arrangement for this particular product is inferred from the publisher's stated practice.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting CROBenchmark.
- A score is a proxy, not the business. Optimising to move a 0-100 index can drift into chasing checklist compliance rather than what actually persuades your customers to buy.
- Aggregated audit results feed a public leaderboard and a commercial report. The data is described as impossible to link back to an individual company, but your store's weaknesses do contribute to a published dataset.
- The vendor's stance on training AI models with customer data is undocumented in either direction, and no opt-out mechanism is described anywhere in the terms.
- Sixty test ideas arriving at once invites shotgunning changes. Running many untested modifications at the same time destroys any ability to attribute a result to a cause.
- Accessibility is a legal and human obligation, not a score to farm. Passing automated WCAG checks is not the same as being usable by someone relying on a screen reader.
- An audit is a snapshot. Buying one and treating the store as fixed is the opposite of the continuous process the vendor itself describes.
- The legal terms are generic to Omniconvert's product line and exclude refunds, so read them against this specific product before purchasing.
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Essentially none. There is no script to install, no tag to deploy and nothing to configure: you create an account, submit the store's URL, and the audit runs on its own in under fifteen minutes. The pricing page puts it plainly, promising no setup and no guesswork. The technical demand arrives afterwards. Acting on the findings, whether repairing tracking, fixing WCAG failures or reworking checkout, requires developers, and running the suggested A/B tests requires a testing tool the product does not provide.

Should you pick CROBenchmark?
CROBenchmark occupies an unusual price point. A structured audit covering conversion practice, WCAG accessibility and tracking hygiene, delivered in fifteen minutes for 29.99 USD, is not something the consulting market offers, and the permanently free Lite tier means the output can be judged before any money changes hands. The credibility behind it is real: a rubric co-built with 100+ named CRO practitioners, and thirteen years of Omniconvert experience covering 70,000+ A/B tests for 2,500+ brands.
The honest framing is diagnostic rather than curative. CROBenchmark tells you where a store leaks and hands you 60+ things to test; it does not test them, does not fix them, and offers no API to carry findings anywhere. Budget for whatever comes after the audit.
A few rough edges are worth knowing before paying. The homepage shows 9.99 USD on one button and 29.99 USD everywhere else. The criteria count is quoted as 248+, 250+ and 300+ on different pages. Multi-credit packages are promoted without a published price. The terms and privacy policy are Omniconvert's generic documents, written around its other products rather than this one, and they rule out refunds.
On data the picture is better than average for the price: a European publisher, servers in the Netherlands, a named subprocessor under Standard Contractual Clauses, and an Article 28 processing agreement published as an annex. Two things stay unresolved. Aggregated audit data feeds a public leaderboard and a commercial report, and the vendor's position on training AI models with customer data is simply not documented.
For an eCommerce team that suspects its conversion infrastructure is broken and wants evidence rather than opinion, the Lite tier costs nothing to try and the full audit costs less than an hour of consultancy.
