Overview

What is CodeConvert AI?

CodeConvert AI presents itself as more than an AI code converter: a set of browser tools that let a developer choose the right one to convert, create, understand, review or refine code. The home page leads with three figures - 62 programming languages, 7 targeted tools, and free tools that need no sign-up - and the footer lists eight of them: Code Converter, Code Generator, Code Explainer, Comment Remover, Code Checker, Code Fixer, Code to PDF and Code Runner. Language coverage is the product's main argument. The mainstream is all there - Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C#, C, C++, Go, Rust, Ruby, PHP, Swift, Kotlin, Scala, R, Matlab, Perl and Lua - alongside a long legacy tail (COBOL, Fortran, Ada, Delphi, VB6, VBA, VBScript, PowerShell, Bash, SAS, PySpark) and a set of newer languages such as Zig, Nim, Gleam, Grain, Carbon, Janet, Wren, Raku, Crystal, Elm, Haxe and Oberon+. Query languages are handled too: SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, CQL, Redis and Elasticsearch. Popular pairs get their own pages, from Python to JavaScript to C# to VB.NET. Beyond a single conversion box, the product is a workspace: switching from one tool to another, uploading files or a ZIP archive as project context - more than 70 file types, with node_modules, .git, dist and build excluded automatically - a conversion history, and an AI chat assistant to keep iterating on a result. Models come in two tiers, Standard (unlimited on paid plans) and Advanced (monthly quota), with an Auto mode in the model picker. Requests are routed through Vercel AI Gateway to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Mistral AI, Fireworks AI and Baseten. Nothing is installed: everything happens in the browser, with sign-in handled at app.codeconvert.ai. The limits are stated openly - 4,000 characters per request without an account, 25,000 with a free or Pro account, 100,000 on Premium. The pricing page claims more than 100,000 people use the service. The publisher is Parichay Solutions; the domain was registered on 21 February 2023 and first archived on 6 March 2023.

When to use CodeConvert AI / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if CodeConvert AI is the right fit.

When to use CodeConvert AI

  • Developers porting an existing codebase between languages, from Python and JavaScript to Java, C++, C#, Go, Rust or Swift
  • Engineering teams modernising legacy code written in COBOL, Fortran, VB6, VBA, VBScript, Delphi or Pascal
  • Data and analytics specialists converting SAS, Matlab, R, PySpark and query languages such as SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, CQL and Redis
  • Developers who inherit unfamiliar code and need the Code Explainer to make sense of it before touching it
  • Students, teachers, freelancers and small teams: the free tools require no account, and the first paid tier costs $10 per month

When not to use CodeConvert AI

  • Engineering teams wanting to automate conversion inside a CI/CD pipeline: there is no public API and no API documentation
  • Anyone expecting a mobile app, an IDE plugin or a localised interface, since CodeConvert AI is web-only and available in English only
  • Regulated organisations that need a signed DPA, a SOC 2 or ISO certificate, or a published postal address before buying
  • Teams planning to migrate a whole repository in one pass: input is capped at 4,000 characters without an account, 25,000 on Pro and 100,000 on Premium
  • Anyone who needs on-premise or self-hosted processing, or who handles code containing secrets: every request goes to third-party AI providers and the site warns against pasting API keys or passwords

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how CodeConvert AI handles your data.

GDPR overview

The privacy policy carries a dedicated section titled Additional Disclosures for General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Compliance (EU). Parichay Solutions declares itself a Data Controller and/or Processor "located at the address provided in our Contact Us section" - a section that in fact holds only an email address. Legal bases are stated: consent, performance of the contract or legitimate interest, and legal obligation. Parental consent is required below the age of 16. The rights listed are restriction, objection, access, correction and erasure, and personal data is deleted within 60 days of account deletion. Internal use of cloud history rests on legitimate interest, with an opt-out in Account settings. Two gaps stand out: no EU representative is designated under Article 27 and no DPO is named. Further sections cover Australia and California.

Who owns the data?

Under the terms of service, you keep the intellectual property rights over the content you submit, and Parichay Solutions states it will never claim ownership of it. In exchange, you grant the publisher a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable and worldwide licence to use, distribute, modify, run, copy, publicly display, translate or otherwise create derivative works from that content. Deleting the content or your account ends the licence, except where the content was already used in commercial or sponsored material, in which case it survives until that material stops running. The site's own materials remain owned by or licensed to Parichay Solutions. Separately, the Code Privacy page states that code is never sold and never used to train AI models.

Reuse rights

Converted, generated or explained code is handed back to you inside the tool, where it can be copied, downloaded or executed with the Run code button. The terms of service set no restriction on reusing that output, commercially or otherwise, and no permission has to be requested. What is locked down is the site material itself: users may download one copy for personal, non-commercial and transitory use only, and mirroring it, removing proprietary notices or reverse engineering are prohibited. Both the general FAQ and the free converter page add a practical caveat rather than a legal one: conversions are produced to the best of the AI model's understanding, some features have no direct equivalent between languages, and generated code must always be reviewed and tested before it reaches production.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
On the free tools used without signing in, the input and the result are stored so the shareable result link works; a Delete my data button on the result page erases them from the servers, but it only works in the browser that produced them. The last input is also kept in that browser and never leaves the device. Signed-in users get cloud history by default, can switch to local-only storage in Account settings, and can delete entries one by one; project context files are permanently removed on request. AI requests use Zero Data Retention by default, with one exception: a no-training host may keep prompts and outputs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. Personal data is kept while the account exists and deleted within 60 days of its deletion, subject to legal and accounting obligations.

Hosting summary

No hosting country is stated for the application database itself; only AI inference is located. All AI requests are routed through Vercel AI Gateway, and open-model requests are pinned to US-based hosts, namely Fireworks AI and/or Baseten. The providers named in the privacy documentation are OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini (through Vertex where that is the Zero Data Retention host), Mistral AI, Fireworks AI and Baseten. On the legal side, the terms of service are governed by the laws of India, with exclusive jurisdiction given to the courts of India, and the publisher, Parichay Solutions, publishes no postal address anywhere. Technically, the site resolves to 216.150.1.1, an anycast address geolocated in the United States on AS16509 (Amazon), which tells you where the site is served from but not where user data is stored. In short: US-located inference for open models, Indian governing law, and no explicit statement about application data hosting.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting CodeConvert AI.

  • Generated code is not guaranteed: the site itself admits that some concepts have no direct equivalent from one language to another
  • The temptation to ship a conversion straight to production without reading it, when the site explicitly asks for review and testing
  • Skill erosion: delegating translation can leave a developer unable to actually read or maintain the target language
  • Secrets pasted out of habit, which is why the site warns against putting API keys or passwords into the tools
  • On the free no-account tools, inputs and results are stored to power a shareable link, so anyone holding that link can read them until Delete my data is used
  • The Delete my data button is only available in the browser that generated the result, so a different or cleared browser leaves the data in place
  • Zero Data Retention has an exception, with prompts kept up to 30 days on a no-training host, and the terms grant a very broad, sub-licensable, worldwide licence on submitted content
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Setup difficulty is very low. Nothing is installed, downloaded or configured: everything runs in the browser, and the free tools work without an account. A free account at app.codeconvert.ai/login is only needed to lift the character and usage limits. No API key has to be supplied and no model has to be tuned, since an Auto mode selects one. The only slightly advanced step, reserved for paid plans, is uploading project files and marking them AI Visible so the AI uses them as context.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I try CodeConvert AI for free?
Yes. The free tools allow 2 conversions per day without an account, with a 4,000-character limit per request. Creating a free account raises the limit to 25,000 characters and adds 5 usage credits.
How many programming languages are supported?
The home page announces 62 programming languages, and the converter FAQ states 60+. Query languages are included, among them SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, CQL, Redis and Elasticsearch.
What exactly is a credit?
A credit is a unit of usage. It is only deducted when a conversion, a generation or an explanation actually completes, so a request that does not succeed costs nothing.
What is the maximum input length?
4,000 characters without an account, 25,000 characters on the free plan and on Pro, and 100,000 characters on Premium.
Are the conversions reliable?
CodeConvert AI states that conversions are produced to the best of the AI model's understanding, and that some features have no direct equivalent from one language to another. The site asks users to review and test generated code before using it in production.
Is my code stored, and is it used to train AI models?
Code is never used for training, and Zero Data Retention applies by default to AI requests. One exception is documented: when a Zero Data Retention host is unavailable, some Advanced models may run on a no-training host that keeps prompts and outputs for up to 30 days for abuse and safety monitoring. On the free no-account tools, inputs and results are stored so that the shareable link works, and a Delete my data button removes them.
Is there an API or a mobile app?
No. There is no public API and no published API documentation, and the product is web only, with no iOS or Android application.
Which files can I upload as project context?
More than 70 file types are accepted, including source files, JSON, YAML, TOML, Markdown and plain text. ZIP archives are supported, and node_modules, .git, dist and build folders are excluded automatically.
How do I cancel, and what is the refund policy?
Subscriptions are cancelled from the Account page, while the Week Pass and the Month Pass are one-off purchases with nothing to cancel. A 14-day money-back guarantee applies to the Month Pass, the 30-Day Access Pass, the Year Pass and subscriptions.
Do unused Advanced runs carry over to the next month?
No. The Advanced run allowance resets at the start of each calendar month in UTC, and unused runs are not carried over.
Conclusion

Should you pick CodeConvert AI?

CodeConvert AI does one thing and does it broadly: translating and explaining code between languages. Its strengths are easy to name. The language catalogue is unusually wide, stretching from COBOL, Fortran and VB6 at one end to Zig, Nim and Gleam at the other, and taking in SQL dialects along the way. Eight tools are free and need no account at all, which makes the product genuinely testable before any payment. And the privacy posture is stated rather than implied: Zero Data Retention by default on AI requests, a documented ban on provider training, a choice between cloud history and local-only storage, and a Delete my data button on the free tools. The weaknesses are just as clear. There is no API, no IDE extension and no mobile app, so the tool sits beside the development workflow rather than inside it. The terms of service still date from February 2023 and carry a very broad licence on submitted content, while the privacy policy was refreshed in August 2026 - a gap worth noticing. For a company there is nothing to sign: no DPA, no published certification, no postal address, and Indian governing law with exclusive jurisdiction in Indian courts. The publisher, Parichay Solutions, looks like a small independent operation founded by Piyush Raj, with no documented funding round. That shapes the audience precisely. CodeConvert AI is a strong fit for an individual developer, a student, a freelancer or a small team needing a quick, wide-coverage conversion without setting anything up. It is not a procurement-grade purchase for a regulated organisation. And the site's own advice holds in every case: review and test generated code before putting it into production.
