What is JurisCloud?
JurisCloud is a Portuguese legal SaaS that presents itself as an AI legal copilot for lawyers practising in Portugal. It is published by Detalhes Repetidos - Unipessoal Lda (tax number 515101575), based in Vila Nova de Gaia, with a marketing site at juriscloud.pt and the application itself at app.juriscloud.pt.
The product rests on four AI building blocks, namely document drafting, document analysis, legislative research and a legal question-and-answer chat, plus a fifth, non-AI block for running the practice: cases, clients, calendar and court deadlines, invoicing, and multi-user accounts with roles. The legislative layer is the distinctive part: 77 Portuguese diplomas and more than 16,000 articles, still expanding, covering among others the Código Civil, the Código Penal, the CPC, the CPP, the CPA, the CIRE, the Código do Trabalho and the GDPR. Research runs on an internal RAG index rather than a generic web search.
Under the hood, JurisCloud calls Anthropic's API and picks a Claude model per task: Haiku for triage and classification, Sonnet for chat, extraction and summaries, Opus for long-form drafting and deeper analysis. The selection is automatic, so the user never chooses a model.
The working loop is deliberately short. Upload the case documents, read the generated summary of the facts, choose the piece to produce, then revise it in the built-in editor, refining by chat, and export to DOCX. A per-lawyer writing profile learns from the corrections made in that editor and stays confined to the firm.
Human supervision is stated as a principle rather than a disclaimer: every output is a draft, stamped Gerado por IA — Requer revisão profissional. The publisher also documents its own limits in the open, including hallucinations, citations that must be checked and the absence of real-time case law, and it maintains an AI transparency page naming the models used task by task.
The compliance claims are equally explicit: data processed and stored in the EU, an unconditional commitment never to train models on customer data, GDPR compliance, and self-classification as a limited-risk AI system under the AI Act. Optional pseudonymisation lets a firm mask personal data before anything is sent to the model.

The lowest paid entry point is the Base plan at EUR 19.00 per month, for one user and 8,000 AI credits per month. Profissional costs EUR 39.00 per month for up to three users and 18,000 credits, and adds batch generation, customisable roles and priority support; Enterprise is quoted on request, with a negotiated credit volume, an adjusted number of users, an SLA and custom integration. All prices are stated excluding VAT (23% on the mainland, 22% in Madeira, 16% in the Azores) and are billed monthly and automatically. New accounts receive 15 days of AI credits on sign-up and then remain free of charge; on the free plan, AI features run on credits purchased individually. GDPR overview
GDPR compliance is claimed explicitly and backed by concrete detail. The controller is Detalhes Repetidos - Unipessoal Lda, and the policies cite Portugal's implementing Lei n.º 58/2019 and name the CNPD (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, cnpd.pt) as the supervisory authority. Access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction, objection and withdrawal of consent are all listed, several exercisable directly from the account profile, with a stated response time of 30 days maximum. Sub-processors are named: Anthropic PBC (United States), Hostinger International Ltd (EU) and Backblaze (EU, Amsterdam). No Article 27 representative is appointed, none being required for a publisher established in Portugal. The service is also self-classified as a limited-risk AI system under Article 50 of the AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689), with machine-readable AI-origin marking in exported document metadata since 2 August 2026. Who owns the data?
The terms are explicit on this point: documents generated by the platform from the user's data are the property of the user (article 5 of the website terms, article 7 of the platform terms). Everything the publisher created itself, meaning the site, the software and the interface, remains the property of Detalhes Repetidos - Unipessoal Lda, which also acts as data controller under Portuguese tax number 515101575. Uploaded case files stay the firm's own: they are held as two encrypted copies inside the EU and isolated firm by firm through PostgreSQL row-level security. The publisher nonetheless advises every firm to keep its own copy of the original documents.
Reuse rights
Generated documents belong to the firm, so a lawyer can edit, export and file them without asking the publisher for permission; the DOCX export exists for exactly that. On the publisher's side, the text needed for a task is sent over TLS 1.2 or above to Anthropic's Claude API in the United States, under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses; Anthropic does not use commercial API data to train its models and does not store it permanently. JurisCloud states it does not use customer data to train AI models, an unconditional commitment repeated across four of its pages. A firm administrator can switch on pseudonymisation so personal data is masked before anything leaves the platform. A writing profile learns each lawyer's style from their own corrections, stays inside the firm, can be consulted and deleted, and is never used to train a model. The legal bases are contract performance, consent (AI history, marketing), legitimate interest (security) and legal obligation (tax records). The marketing site runs self-hosted Umami with no cookies and no personal data, and carries no Google Analytics and no Facebook Pixel.

All data is processed and stored exclusively inside the EU, with one documented exception: the text needed for an AI task. Original files are kept as two encrypted copies, one on the platform's own server and one in object storage in Amsterdam (Backblaze, EU region). Hosting and email are handled by Hostinger International Ltd, in the EU. Transport is encrypted, with TLS 1.3 advertised on the home page and TLS 1.2 or above for calls to the AI API. For generation and analysis, text is sent to Anthropic's servers in the United States under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses; it is not stored there permanently, and commercial API data is not used for training. A firm can reduce what leaves the platform by switching on pseudonymisation before the call. One collection note for the record: the website's IP address resolves to Düsseldorf (Hostinger, AS47583), but Amsterdam is the only hosting location the publisher itself names.

- A draft this fluent invites over-reliance. The publisher itself warns about hallucinations and citations that must be verified, and stamps every output as a draft requiring professional review; skipping that review moves the risk onto the client and onto the lawyer's own liability.
- The company register lists shoe manufacturing (CAE 15201/15202) as the publisher's main activity, computer programming appearing only as a secondary one, even though the tax number, company name and address match the site exactly.
- The publisher is a very light structure for a tool handling files covered by professional secrecy: a single-shareholder company with EUR 1,000 of share capital, no dedicated about page and no named team.
- No independent security certification is claimed and no DPA is offered to clients. The Article 28 GDPR reference qualifies Anthropic as a processor acting for JurisCloud; it does not attest to a data processing agreement offered to the lawyers who are customers.
- The published documents contradict each other on two points: AI retention is given as 12 months in the platform privacy policy and 6 months on the AI transparency page, and GDPR rights are directed to suporte@ in article 5 of the website policy but to info@ elsewhere.
- The advertised prices exclude VAT (23% on the mainland) and AI is billed in credits, so the actual cost for a Portuguese lawyer is higher than the headline figure and varies with usage rather than with the subscription alone.

Very low. JurisCloud is a web application: nothing to install, no API key to obtain and no third-party integration to configure, since an email address and a password are enough to open an account. Only one administration setting really deserves attention, pseudonymisation, under 'Definições do Gabinete'. On the Profissional and Enterprise plans, roles and permissions have to be defined for multi-user access. The publisher's own caution is worth repeating: migrating data from a previous system is generally heavier than it looks.

JurisCloud makes no attempt to be universal, and that is arguably its main quality. One jurisdiction, one language, one narrow audience: lawyers and small firms practising Portuguese law. Within that perimeter the product is coherent, with 77 diplomas indexed, drafting grounded in the actual case file, and a practice-management layer that removes the need for a second tool.
What stands out most is the transparency around data. Sub-processors are named one by one, retention periods are published category by category, the AI transparency page states which Claude model handles which task, and the publisher self-classifies under Article 50 of the AI Act. Few tools of this size go that far, and fewer still document their own weaknesses: hallucinations, citations to verify, no real-time case law.
The cost of trying it is low. The Gratuito plan is permanent and needs no card, sign-up comes with 15 days of AI credits, and the paid entry point is EUR 19 per month excluding VAT.
