Overview

What is FurniMesh?

FurniMesh is an AI image-to-3D platform built for one vertical: furniture. Upload a single photograph and it returns a textured, production-ready 3D model in under 60 seconds. The pipeline runs in one pass, chaining background removal, depth inference, mesh extraction and texture baking, and the model behind it was trained on more than 71,000 furniture pieces gathered from trade fairs including Salone del Mobile in Milan, Maison&Objet in Paris and MOW in Cologne. The publisher makes that specialisation an explicit claim: the pipeline, the model and the formats are tuned for furniture, rather than a generic 3D tool repurposed for it. Coverage spans chairs, sofas, tables, beds, lamps, storage units, bar stools, bathroom and kitchen items, decor, architectural elements and appliances.

Output comes in four native formats, GLB for the web, OBJ as a cross-tool standard, SKP for SketchUp and BLEND for Blender, with no intermediate conversion. Logical parts such as legs, seat, back and drawers are separated and colour-coded so materials can be applied piece by piece, and quality levels run from Low to Ultra on paid plans. A free converter adds 14+ further formats and over 400 conversion paths, processed inside the browser with no upload to a server and no sign-up below 200 MB. A curated public library of 10,378+ models, filtered by a quality gate covering classification, mesh detail and a Gemini-written description, is the third way in.

Since June 2026, AI Render turns a viewport capture from SketchUp, Blender, 3ds Max, Revit or Rhino into a photorealistic image in about 30 seconds while preserving geometry and proportions, with interior, exterior and product view types, a style reference image and region-by-region mask editing. Any model can be embedded through a single iframe tag with augmented reality on mobile, and a programmatic API (POST /api/model-generation) is advertised for batch, headless generation.

The service is operated by UAB FURNISYSTEMS, a Lithuanian company based in Vilnius and founded by Airidas Juskaitis, with European Union funding through NextGenerationEU. It claims 22K+ users, 71K+ models generated and 100+ countries served. No 3D modelling experience is required, and the publisher benchmarks its output against the 30 to 90 minutes a single piece takes to model by hand in Blender or SketchUp. The v2 generation engine shipped in April 2026, with Google Nano Banana image pre-processing added in May 2026.

When to use FurniMesh / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if FurniMesh is the right fit.

When to use FurniMesh

  • Furniture retailers and e-commerce teams who want a 3D and AR viewer on every product page to reduce returns and increase conversion.
  • Interior designers building mood boards and client visuals from real product photographs instead of generic catalogue furniture.
  • Architects who need accurate furniture straight inside SketchUp, Revit or Rhino, with SKP output for visualising FF&E schedules.
  • 3D artists who want a base mesh generated from a reference photo and then refined in Blender or Maya.
  • Teams with no 3D modelling skills who must produce furniture assets at volume, saving the 30 to 90 minutes each piece takes to model by hand.

When not to use FurniMesh

  • Anyone modelling objects outside furniture: the engine is trained on 71,000+ furniture pieces, not on generic objects.
  • Animators and riggers: the output is a dense triangulated mesh rather than hand-built quad edge flow, so a retopology pass is required before heavy deformation.
  • Users who want a native mobile application: there is no iOS or Android app, everything runs through the browser.
  • Buyers who require published contractual documentation: no DPA, no sub-processor list and no declared hosting country exist.
  • Anyone expecting to download without paying: generating and previewing are free, retrieving the files requires a subscription.

How to use FurniMesh

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Open FurniMesh in a browser: no installation, no plugin and no local GPU, on Windows, Mac, Linux or ChromeOS with Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge or Brave
  2. Upload a furniture photo in JPEG, JPG, PNG or WebP; a single, well-lit piece on a plain background converts best
  3. Let the AI remove the background, infer depth and build a textured mesh, roughly 60 seconds end to end
  4. Allow 45 to 60 seconds on average and up to 90 seconds for complex multi-part pieces such as corner sofas or modular units; the tab can be closed, finished models are saved to your dashboard
  5. Download the model in GLB, OBJ, SKP or BLEND: GLB and OBJ are free on the sample models, SKP and BLEND need a free account, and downloading your own generations requires a paid subscription
  6. Convert the file to another format by dropping it into the free converter, which runs in the browser and needs no sign-up below 200 MB
  7. For a render, capture the viewport of any 3D application, drop the screenshot into AI Render and get a photorealistic image in about 30 seconds
  8. Adjust the style or lighting and run it again, or paint a mask over one area, describe the fix and optionally attach a reference image: only the masked region is recomputed
  9. Embed a model on your website by copying the supplied iframe tag (src = /iframe?glb=...); visitors see it in 3D and switch to augmented reality with one tap on mobile

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Speed: 45 to 60 seconds per model against the 30 to 90 minutes of manual modelling the publisher cites
  • Genuine furniture specialisation, trained on 71,000+ pieces from 100+ countries rather than a generic engine pointed at furniture
  • Four native formats including SKP and BLEND, so no conversion chain before the file opens
  • Commercial licence with no attribution and no royalty, free tier included
  • Free unlimited 3D converter that never sends a file to a server, plus a library of 10,378+ free models usable without generating anything
  • Nothing to install and no local GPU, so the whole workflow runs in a browser on any laptop; AI Render preserves the geometry you built instead of redrawing it
  • Stated unit cost of 5 credits, approximately USD 0.50, per standard-quality model, alongside a named Lithuanian company and a dated, quantified EU funding project

Cons

  • Downloading requires a paid subscription: the free tier lets you generate and preview, not retrieve the files
  • The free tier is thin: 50 one-time credits (about 10 models), no access to the model library, watermarked renders and community support only
  • Dense triangulated topology optimised for visual fidelity rather than quad edge flow, so a retopology pass is needed before heavy deformation or rigging
  • Scope limited to furniture and interior objects, and to the browser: there is no native mobile or desktop application
  • No postal address, no legal notice page and no company name in the terms; the contact form is the only channel, with no published email address
  • No DPA, no sub-processor list and no declared hosting country
  • Commercial terms tilt towards the publisher: credit costs can change at any time (Terms 2.1), fees are non-refundable and unused credits do not carry over (Terms 4.2), the five-year retention period can be altered at will (Privacy 3.1), and the service is provided as is with no quality, accuracy or availability warranty (Terms 6)

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how FurniMesh handles your data.

GDPR overview

The privacy policy in force since 29 January 2025 carries an explicit section 4 titled GDPR Compliance, committing to processing that is lawful, fair and transparent, with specified and legitimate purposes, adequacy and minimisation, accuracy, storage limitation and security. Section 4.1 lists seven rights: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent. Rights are exercised by contacting the publisher through the website, as no GDPR email address or data protection officer is published. Section 6 mentions international transfers under appropriate safeguards without naming a country, a region or a mechanism. Section 8 excludes users under 18. The homepage states that data is safe and GDPR compliant. No DPA is offered and no sub-processor list exists; the publisher being established in Lithuania, Article 27 representation does not apply.

Who owns the data?

Under the terms of service in force since 29 January 2025, you keep ownership of the images you upload; uploading only grants the publisher a licence to use them to provide the service. Generated models join your private library by default, and publishing one to the public library is an explicit opt-in. Models you do share publicly may then be used by the publisher for its own purposes, marketing and service improvement included. Private models, an option that consumes extra credits, are stated to remain private and not to be shared or used. Output carries a commercial licence, with no attribution, no royalty and no personal-use-only restriction.

Reuse rights

The privacy policy in force since 29 January 2025 lists what is collected: account name and email, payment information handled by third-party processors, the images uploaded and the 3D models generated from them, plus usage data such as IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, dates and times, time spent and unique device identifiers. Stated purposes are providing and maintaining the service, processing 2D-to-3D conversions, managing accounts and subscriptions, notifying changes, customer support, detecting and preventing technical incidents, and analysing and improving the service. Personal data is shared with third parties for payment processing only, under contractual limits and security obligations, with disclosure possible on a lawful request. Cookies and tracking technologies are used and can be refused in the browser. No provider is named and no sub-processor list is published. The models you generate can be reused commercially, without attribution and without asking permission.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
The privacy policy and terms in force since 29 January 2025 set retention at five years: personal data, the images you upload and the 3D models generated from them are kept for that period. The publisher reserves the right to change that duration at any time. Content can be deleted on request before the period ends, at any time and directly through the platform, and the GDPR right to erasure is listed among the seven rights in section 4.1. No deadline is given for acting on a deletion request, and no anonymisation practice is described.

Hosting summary

FurniMesh publishes very little about where data is held. The privacy policy in force since 29 January 2025 states only that information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the user's country of residence, with appropriate safeguards in place; no country, no region and no transfer mechanism is named. There is no trust or security page, no sub-processor list and no data processing agreement. Section 3.2 commits to appropriate technical and organisational measures, reinforced security for private models and regular security reviews. The homepage says the platform uses cloud services to obtain the best GPUs available on demand, claiming around 50 times the speed of a local machine, without identifying a provider. Network observation, which the site itself does not claim, points to Google infrastructure: the A record resolves to 35.240.79.2 in AS396982 Google LLC in Brussels, Belgium, and 3D files are served from storage.googleapis.com. Because the publisher declares nothing, the hosting country and region fields are left empty here.

Watch-outs

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting FurniMesh.

  • Generating is free but downloading is not: the real paywall is the download, so budget for a subscription before building a workflow on the free tier.
  • The 50 free credits are one-time, not monthly, and never refill; monthly plan credits do not carry over beyond their threshold either.
  • Terms 2.1 lets the publisher change how many credits a service costs at any time, notably if GPU costs rise, and Terms 4.2 makes fees non-refundable barring a legal obligation.
  • Anything published to the public library may be used by the publisher, marketing included: check that a model is private before publishing client work, and note that private models are a paid-plan option costing extra credits.
  • Personal data and generated content are kept for five years, and Privacy 3.1 reserves the right to change that period at any time.
  • No DPA, no sub-processor list and no declared hosting country: verify this before putting confidential product data through the service.
  • Support and legal contact run through a single web form, with no published email address, no legal notice page and no postal address, and Terms 6 disclaims any warranty of quality or availability, including for failed generations.
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Very low. Everything runs in the browser, with no installation, no plugin and no local GPU, on Windows, Mac, Linux and ChromeOS with Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge or Brave. The free tier opens without a credit card, and the converter handles files under 200 MB with no account, while SKP and BLEND sample downloads need a free account. AI Render asks only for a viewport screenshot, not a scene export, and embedding a model is a single iframe tag. The one genuinely technical point is retopology: the dense triangulated mesh needs cleaning up before rigging or animation.

Conclusion

Should you pick FurniMesh?

FurniMesh is a vertical tool, and that is the point: rather than a generic image-to-mesh engine, it is a pipeline trained on 71,000+ furniture pieces and tuned to the formats furniture people actually open. Three bricks work together, generation from a photo, a free library of 10,378+ commercially licensed models, and a free in-browser converter, with AI Render added in June 2026 for photorealistic images from a viewport capture.

On value the arithmetic is favourable: roughly USD 0.50 per standard-quality model, and a paid entry point of USD 19.99 per month on annual billing. The main reservation is where the paywall sits. Generating and previewing are free, downloading is not, so the free tier is a way to try the tool rather than to work with it. The second reservation is technical: the mesh is dense and triangulated, so anything heading for rigging or animation needs a retopology pass first.

The third is governance. There is no postal address, no legal notice page, no DPA, no sub-processor list and no declared hosting country, and support runs through a contact form with no published email address. Against that, the institutional footing is unusually clear for a tool of this size: a named Lithuanian company, UAB FURNISYSTEMS in Vilnius, and an EU-funded project with figures and dates on the record.

For furniture retailers, interior designers, architects and 3D artists who need furniture assets quickly and want to open them in SketchUp or Blender without a conversion chain, FurniMesh earns its place. For teams with strict procurement requirements, or for anyone modelling outside furniture, it is the wrong fit. The free tier is the sensible way to find out which case you are in.
