What is DEEP Robotics?
DEEP Robotics is a Chinese robotics manufacturer, founded in 2017 in Hangzhou, that designs and builds legged robots for industrial work. It describes its purpose as pioneering the innovation and application of embodied AI: robots that perceive their surroundings, decide what to do and act on that decision without a human at the controls. The company develops the whole stack itself, from the actuators up, around a perception, decision and execution framework built on multimodal environmental sensing, cross-scenario navigation and combined sensing and motion control.
The catalogue covers four families. The X series holds the industrial quadrupeds: the X30 weighs 56 kg, walks at 4 m/s or more, climbs 45 degree slopes, carries an IP67 rating and runs two and a half to four hours on a swappable battery. The LYNX line adds wheels to legs; the M20 is presented as the first wheel-legged robot built for hazardous terrain, at 35 kg with a 15 kg payload, twin 96-line lidars and three hours of unloaded endurance. The humanoid line runs DR01 and DR02, the latter announced as the first industrial humanoid with IP66 protection and modular limbs that clip off for field replacement. The Lite series is the entry point for laboratories: Lite3 weighs 12 kg and ships with models, a motion control SDK, APIs and sample code. DEEP Robotics also sells its J60, J80 and J100 joints as components.
In the field, the robots patrol substations, crawl through power cable tunnels, survey construction sites with 3D scanners, enter collapsed or toxic areas ahead of rescue teams, and walk security rounds in markets and warehouses. The company reports coverage of all 34 provincial-level regions in China and 44 countries and regions abroad, with named deployments in Singapore, Saudi Arabia and North America. A navigation layer called DeepVLA 1.0 pairs semantic point clouds with large language models so a route can be adjusted by plain speech. GDPR overview
There is no GDPR implementation to report. Across every page collected, including the raw markup, the words GDPR and General Data Protection Regulation do not appear once. No data processing agreement is published or offered, no list of sub-processors exists, no representative is designated under Article 27 and no data protection officer is named. The privacy policy is written in a Chinese commercial register: it grants no statutory rights of access, portability or erasure, and instead invites the reader to contact the company to stop a processing operation. It reserves the right to monitor phone and email exchanges, and states that it may not fully apply depending on the reader's local law, while not limiting rights granted by that law. Who owns the data?

Reuse rights
Nothing in the published documents grants or restricts a customer's right to reuse the data their own robots produce; the question is simply not covered, which in practice leaves it to the purchase contract. On its own side, DEEP Robotics reserves broad use of the personal data it collects: fulfilling orders and payments, providing customer service, sending product, event and promotional material, announcing releases and software updates, and then a wide business block covering data analysis, auditing, fraud monitoring and prevention, developing new products and services, identifying usage trends and expanding the business. Internal research to improve products and communication is included. Training AI models on customer data is never mentioned, in either direction. During after-sales service the company is authorised to modify data, delete it or restore factory settings, and it disclaims responsibility for any data loss or leakage, telling users to back up and wipe the robot beforehand.

DEEP Robotics stands out in a field crowded with impressive demonstration videos because its robots have an audit trail: roughly thirty substations on the China Southern Power Grid, a power cable tunnel in Singapore, a beach inspection route at NEOM in Saudi Arabia, a storage park in North America. The company publishes a figure for what that changed at the substations, around 70 percent less operation and maintenance cost and more than 50 percent better efficiency. The engineering behind it is credible too: IP66 and IP67 ratings, a working range from minus 20 to 55 degrees Celsius, and joints designed and sold in house rather than bought in. A Series C above 500 million yuan closed in December 2025 and the company has entered IPO tutoring, so the finances are not a question mark either.
What a foreign buyer runs into is opacity and distance. One product carries a public price, the Lite 3 research platform; everything industrial goes through a sales form. Returns are not accepted, shipping is on the buyer, and the published after-sales terms apply in Chinese mainland only. The compliance side is thinner still: the site never mentions the GDPR, offers no data processing agreement, names no sub-processors and designates no European representative.
