GiftsAI
GiftsAI is an AI gift recommendation platform layered over a dropshipping marketplace. It stores recipient profiles, tracks occasions and suggests presents you can buy on the spot, through separate personal and corporate journeys. Free to use, United States only.
What is GiftsAI?
GiftsAI is the consumer-facing name of GIFTS AI, Inc., a Delaware company with its main office in Fremont, California. Its own terms define it as an AI-powered full-stack e-commerce marketplace platform. In practice that means three things bolted together: an AI recommendation engine, a dropshipping marketplace, and a layer that manages the life cycle of a gift from the first reminder to the delivery.
The recommendation engine analyzes the recipient's preferences, the context of the occasion, the nature of the relationship, the budget and past gifting history. It is described as learning continuously from interactions, feedback on previous gifts, the profiles you create and your purchase history. A conversational assistant called Charis sits behind an Ask AI button for anyone who would rather describe the situation in words. The structured data on the home page lists four headline capabilities: social-powered AI gift discovery, end-to-end gift lifecycle management, secure integrated checkout and automated recipient tracking.
Two journeys run side by side. The personal track covers birthdays, wedding anniversaries, housewarmings, baby showers and Valentine's Day, with browsing categories for him, for her, for kids, for pets and for teenagers. The corporate track targets employees, clients, prospects, milestones and holidays, and adds budgets, wallets, bulk sending and a Let Them Choose option that hands the final pick to the recipient.
The products come from independent third-party brands, which ship from their own warehouses and remain the merchants of record; GIFTS AI facilitates the transaction rather than selling the goods. That vendor network is described as being built through partnerships with Carro and Modern Drop Ship.
Marketing claims include Trusted by 50,000+ Gifters, 90% automation of gifting and 15+ hours saved a year, while the About page frames the problem with its own figures: 70% of people struggle with personalization, $15 billion in unwanted gifts, 20+ hours a year spent on gifting and 83% missing occasions. The company is led by founder-CEO Sujay Kar, previously Chief Data & Analytics Officer at Dollar Shave Club, Fabletics and Experian, with an advisory board drawn from Capital One, Rent The Runway, Experian and TouchLand. Access is web only, on desktop and mobile browsers; a mobile app has been announced but not published.

A quick filter to help you decide if GiftsAI is the right fit.
When to use GiftsAI
- Individuals juggling gifts for family and friends across birthdays, anniversaries and seasonal occasions
- HR and People Ops teams running employee gifting, recognition and retention programs
- Corporate administrators and executive assistants handling bulk sends of anywhere from one to a thousand gifts, with no recipient address required
- Real estate agents thanking clients around a closing, a role the company explicitly targets in its demo form and its testimonials
- Sales and business development reps who use gifts to open doors with prospects and keep accounts warm
When not to use GiftsAI
- Anyone shopping or shipping outside the United States: international orders are listed as N/A for now and every transaction is settled in USD
- Users who want a native mobile app, since the site says one will launch soon but nothing is published
- Teams that need to plug gifting into their own stack, as there is no public API and no developer documentation
- Minors acting alone: the terms set 18 as the age of use, 13 to 17 requires parental consent and under-13s are barred
- Buyers who need the platform itself to stand behind product quality, because third-party merchants are the sellers of record and AI suggestions are provided as is

Pros & Cons
Pros
- The platform itself is free: the Free Tier covers basic AI recommendations and platform access
- Broad coverage of occasions and recipient categories, on both the personal and the corporate side
- Gifts can be sent without the recipient's address, and the recipient can be left to choose the item
- A 14-day return window, longer than the 7 days California law requires, plus cancellation with a full refund if the announced delivery window is missed, per the FTC rule
- Unusually complete legal documentation for a site of this size: privacy, terms, data retention, AI policy, cookies and returns are all published
- Sales tax is calculated and collected at checkout, the company acting as marketplace facilitator
- Several clearly separated contact channels (sales@, support@, info@, phone and live chat), a published postal address and legal entity, and a stated WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility commitment
Cons
- Service is limited to the United States and international orders are unavailable
- The Premium plan carries no published price: the FAQ simply answers that this is TBD
- No mobile app despite the announcement, and no public API
- Privacy gaps: no named sub-processor list, no DPA, no documented way to opt out of AI training, and no Article 27 EU representative even though GDPR rights are granted
- GIFTS AI is not the merchant of record, so product liability sits with the third-party sellers
- Total liability is capped at the greater of $100 or the amounts paid over 12 months, with mandatory AAA arbitration and a class-action waiver
- A very young company whose vendor network is described as still being built, and whose FAQ answers are absent from the served HTML, invisible unless JavaScript runs
Pricing & Plans
A free plan exists. The Free Tier grants basic AI recommendations and platform access at no charge, and it is the only tier with a stated price: the announced Premium Subscription carries no figure, the FAQ answering that this is TBD based on how Gifts AI can continue to meet customer needs. No amount, currency or billing period is therefore published for a paid tier, so no entry-level price point can be quoted. The costs that do exist relate to the products purchased rather than to access to the tool: all transactions are settled in USD, with sales tax calculated at checkout. Accepted payment methods are Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, together with gift cards and credits, while Apple Pay and Google Pay are marked Coming Soon. Corporate buyers are directed to custom plans quoted on request through the contact form.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how GiftsAI handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR coverage is real but thin. The FAQ claims compliance with applicable privacy laws, naming CCPA/CPRA and GDPR, and section 10 of the privacy policy grants people in the EEA, Switzerland and the United Kingdom their GDPR and UK GDPR rights: access, rectification, restriction and objection. Standard Contractual Clauses are mentioned where applicable for transfers, and all data is transferred to and processed in the United States. Beyond that, the published apparatus is Californian, built around CCPA/CPRA, CalOPPA and Civil Code 1789.3. No EU representative under Article 27 is named, no Data Protection Officer is appointed and no DPA is offered; a single address, info@giftsai.com, handles every request. Announced turnaround is an acknowledgement within 10 business days and a response within 45 days, extendable by a further 45.
Who owns the data?
Section 6 of the Terms of Service leaves ownership of User Content with the user: the recipient profiles, preferences and feedback you submit stay yours. Submitting them, however, grants GIFTS AI, Inc. a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish and distribute that content in order to provide and improve the Service. Alongside it, the privacy policy lists what the company collects on its own account: identifiers, commercial information, device and internet data, approximate geolocation and inferences. Sensitive personal information is limited to card data, which is handled by third-party payment processors, and GIFTS AI states that it does not store full card numbers itself.
Reuse rights
The stated purposes are to deliver and improve the AI recommendations, process payments and orders, send transactional messages, run marketing where consent has been given, meet legal obligations and fight fraud. Section 4.2 of the Terms goes further: interactions and feedback are used to improve the algorithms, and anonymized or aggregated data is processed for AI training. Data is shared with third-party vendors, payment processors and logistics providers, described as contractually bound. Email and SMS marketing require a separate opt-in, with TCPA compliance claimed. No mechanism is documented for keeping your data out of AI training: the published opt-outs cover cookies, DNT and GPC signals, CCPA sale or sharing, and marketing only.

Hosting summary
All data is transferred to and processed in the United States, including for users who access the service from abroad. GIFTS AI is a Delaware company operating out of Fremont, California, and no hosting country or region other than the United States is named anywhere on the site. For international transfers, Standard Contractual Clauses are mentioned where applicable, without further detail. No cloud provider is identified: the documentation refers only to a category of cloud infrastructure providers, and no named sub-processor list is published. Technically, the site is served through Amazon CloudFront, but the company never claims this as its hosting arrangement and the edge node observed is an anycast point of presence, so it says nothing about where the data actually rests. The declared security measures are encryption, secure servers and access controls, stated in general terms.

Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting GiftsAI.
- GIFTS AI is not the merchant of record: a dispute over a damaged or disappointing product has to be taken up with the third-party seller, not with the platform
- Total liability is capped at the greater of $100 or the amounts paid over the last 12 months, a low ceiling once corporate volumes are involved
- AAA arbitration is mandatory, class actions are waived and California law governs, so signing up means giving up the courtroom
- The license granted over your User Content is broad: worldwide, royalty-free, and covering modification, publication and distribution
- Anonymized and aggregated data feeds AI training with no documented opt-out, advertising cookies and cross-context behavioral advertising sharing are in play (GPC signals are honored), and identifiers and commercial data can be kept for up to seven years
- Premium is announced without a price, so future spending cannot be planned, and the company's own incorporation date is inconsistent across the sources it publishes
- Handing occasions and choices to an automated assistant, which the company itself pitches as 90% automation of gifting, can quietly remove the personal attention that gives a gift its meaning
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Very low. There is nothing to install: GiftsAI is a web application, and you sign up with a Google ID or an email address, verify the email and complete your profile. No technical skill is required and there is no integration to configure. The real effort is editorial rather than technical, since the tool is only as useful as the recipient profiles you fill in, and the FAQ points to incomplete profiles as the usual reason recommendations fail to appear. Corporate rollouts are the exception: getting started there runs through a conversation with the company's team.

Should you pick GiftsAI?
GiftsAI puts three things in one place: an AI recommendation engine, a dropshipping marketplace and a set of tools that manage a gift from the reminder to the delivery. The reason to look at it is that nothing stands between you and the recommendation. Access is free, the coverage of occasions and recipient categories is broad, and the legal framework is documented in far more detail than most companies of this age bother with.
The limits are just as clear. The service works in the United States and nowhere else: international orders are listed as unavailable and every transaction is in USD. The announced Premium tier has no price, only a TBD, so nobody can budget for it. There is no mobile app and no public API. And GIFTS AI is not the merchant of record, so if a gift arrives broken your counterparty is the third-party seller, with total liability capped at $100 or twelve months of payments, whichever is higher.
Maturity is the honest caveat. The company launched in 2025 and describes its vendor network as still being assembled, while the headline figures (50,000+ gifters, 90% automation, 15+ hours saved a year) are the publisher's own unverified claims.
The practical verdict splits along the two journeys. On the personal side there is nothing to lose: open an account, fill in a recipient profile properly, since incomplete profiles are the FAQ's own explanation for weak results, and judge the suggestions on their merits. On the corporate side, do not try to size it from the website. The pricing, the plan and the scope all sit behind the Talk to Our Team form, so book the demo and ask about vendor coverage, delivery guarantees and who carries the risk when a bulk send goes wrong.
