Onvo AI
Onvo AI connects databases, spreadsheets and CSV files, cleans the messy data automatically, then builds live interactive dashboards you can share, schedule or embed. No SQL or code required, with a three-day free trial and no permanent free plan.
What is Onvo AI?
Onvo AI is a self-service data intelligence platform published by Guidenco Inc, a Delaware company trading under the Onvo AI name. It covers the whole chain between a raw data source and a dashboard someone can actually read: connection, cleaning, modelling, visualisation and distribution, without asking the user to write SQL or code.
Connection comes first. Onvo reads PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL, ClickHouse, MongoDB, Snowflake, BigQuery, Amazon Redshift and Google Firestore, alongside Google Sheets, Excel workbooks, CSV uploads, HubSpot, Salesforce, Stripe and Airtable, plus any database reachable over JDBC and any REST endpoint. Pasting a database URL or dragging in a file is presented as the whole of the setup.
Cleaning is the step the product makes most of. The AI scans for merged cells, inconsistent date formats, mixed currency symbols, empty rows, #VALUE! errors and duplicate entries, repairs them, and shows exactly what changed before anything is written. It then discovers the schema on its own, works out which tables join to which, and applies the metric definitions, terminology and brand colours you set once.
From there the platform behaves as a conversational analyst. You type a question such as why sales dropped last week, and Onvo queries the data, explains what it found and produces supporting charts that can be added to a dashboard in one click. Existing charts are reshaped by instruction rather than by menu, filters update in real time, and data refreshes hourly, daily or on a custom schedule.
Distribution is where the Enterprise tier concentrates. Dashboards go out as public links that recipients can filter without an account, as branded PDF exports, as scheduled email reports, or embedded straight into another product through an iFrame or the @onvo-ai/react SDK, with per-user tokens that scope each viewer to their own rows. Separate workspaces isolate one client from another, while SSO/SAML and a dedicated account manager come with the top tier. The publisher describes itself as a small team of five and prices entry access at 17 USD per user per month billed annually.
What it does
- Connect a database, spreadsheet or CSV file in seconds, with no configuration
- Clean messy data automatically and review every correction before it is saved
- Ask questions in plain English and get answers backed by generated charts
- Build and edit charts by typing an instruction instead of navigating menus
- Refresh data on an hourly, daily or custom schedule
- Email scheduled PDF reports and trigger threshold alerts on any metric
- Share dashboards by public link or embed them white-labelled via iFrame or SDK
When to use Onvo AI / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Onvo AI is the right fit.
When to use Onvo AI
- Business and operations teams that currently wait on a data team to compile every report
- Analysts and BI developers who want live dashboards without maintaining a separate reporting stack
- SaaS product teams that need to embed white-labelled, per-user analytics inside their own application
- Agencies and consultancies juggling several clients, thanks to isolated workspaces and per-project permissions
- Small data teams working across scattered spreadsheets, CSV exports and production databases
When not to use Onvo AI
- Organisations bound by HIPAA, FISMA or the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, which the terms of service explicitly exclude
- Teams that require data residency outside the United States, since hosting is US-only
- Buyers who need a signed Data Processing Agreement, a published subprocessor list or an EU Article 27 representative
- Anyone looking for a permanent free tier: the trial lasts three days and every plan is paid
- Developers expecting public API documentation, as the site publishes none despite shipping an SDK
How to use Onvo AI
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Open a trial account on the web application; no credit card is requested
- Connect a first source by pasting a database URL, dragging in a CSV or linking a Google Sheet
- Let Onvo scan the schema and map the relationships between tables automatically
- Review the cleaning report, which lists every broken row, merged cell and date format it repaired
- Set your metric definitions, terminology and brand colours once so that every chart follows them
- Ask a question in plain English and read the answer with its supporting charts
- Add any useful chart to a dashboard in one click, then refine it by typing an instruction
- Choose a refresh frequency: hourly, daily or a custom schedule
- Set thresholds on the metrics that matter to receive anomaly alerts, and schedule PDF reports
- Share by public link, export a branded PDF, or embed the dashboard with the React SDK or an iFrame
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Covers the whole chain from raw source to shared dashboard in a single tool
- Data cleaning is automatic and transparent: corrections are shown before anything is saved
- Genuinely usable without SQL, and the demos on the site are playable rather than screenshots
- The embedding SDK is verifiable and actively maintained, with 428 published npm versions
- Entry pricing is public and specific, which is uncommon in this segment
- The publisher states plainly that customer data is never used to train AI models
- Complete legal identity: registered company, postal address, telephone number and a named DPO
Cons
- The free trial lasts only three days and there is no permanent free plan
- SOC 2 Type II, TLS 1.3 and AES-256 are claimed in a single FAQ answer, with no security page or attestation
- No DPA, no subprocessor list and no EU Article 27 representative, despite the privacy notice invoking the GDPR
- Data is hosted in the United States only, and continued use of the service counts as consent to the transfer
- Plan naming contradicts itself: Starter on the pricing grid, Pro in the FAQ, Growth in the terms of service
- Docs, Help Center, Status, Community, Integrations and Careers links all point at a dead anchor
- A surcharge of 50 USD per 100,000 monthly active rows appears in the terms but not on the pricing grid
Pricing & Plans
There is no permanent free plan. Access begins with a three-day free trial that does not require a credit card, after which the Starter plan is charged at 17 USD per user per month when billed annually (204 USD per user per year), or 20 USD per user per month on monthly billing. The Enterprise plan is quoted on request. All payments are taken in US dollars.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Onvo AI handles your data.
GDPR overview
Onvo AI never claims GDPR compliance anywhere on the site, which is why this record marks it as non-compliant: the rating reflects an absent claim, not a stated refusal. The privacy notice does set out a real framework. It names the GDPR and UK GDPR, declares the legal bases relied upon (consent, legal obligations, vital interests), lists the rights available in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Canada, and designates a Data Protection Officer, Ronnel Davis, with an email address and a telephone number. Against that, no Article 27 EU representative is appointed, no Data Processing Agreement is published or offered, no subprocessor list exists, and the terms place hosting in the United States with consent to transfer built into continued use. Both documents were last updated on 2 December 2024.
Who owns the data?
Onvo AI's terms state that you keep full ownership of the content you submit, and the publisher claims no ownership over it. In the same breath, however, section 9 grants Guidenco Inc an unrestricted, irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide and sublicensable licence to host, copy, publish, translate, distribute and even resell those contributions for any purpose, commercial included. Section 22 adds that although routine backups are performed, you alone remain responsible for your data, and the publisher accepts no liability for its loss or corruption. The privacy notice states that when you connect a source, only the data needed for visualisation is read.
Reuse rights
You may access and reuse your own data freely: the terms confirm you retain ownership of everything you upload or connect, and the licence granted to the publisher is non-exclusive, so nothing prevents you from exporting, publishing or reselling your own dashboards and figures. What you may not reuse is Onvo's side of the product. Its content, marks, source code and interface are licensed to you for personal or internal business use only, and section 7 forbids systematically extracting material from the service to build a competing collection, compilation or database without written permission.

Hosting summary
The terms of service state plainly that the services are hosted in the United States, and that accessing them from any other region means transferring personal data there, with continued use standing as consent. No other country, region or data centre is named, and no European or regional residency option is offered. Payment data is not held by the publisher at all: the privacy notice says it is stored by Stripe. The website itself is served through Cloudflare and resolves to an anycast address, but that is content delivery infrastructure and says nothing about where customer data actually rests. Beyond the single sentence naming the United States, the site publishes no trust or security page, no list of hosting providers and no subprocessor register, and the sitemap confirms that no such page exists. Enterprise customers are told they receive dedicated tenancy with full data isolation, though the underlying location is not specified any further.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Onvo AI.
- Security claims rest on a single FAQ sentence: SOC 2 Type II, TLS 1.3 and AES-256 appear nowhere else, with no security page, no attestation and no auditor named
- Connecting a production database gives a third party read access to live business data, while the terms disclaim all liability for the loss or corruption of that data
- No Data Processing Agreement, no subprocessor list and no EU Article 27 representative, which makes European compliance work hard to complete
- United States hosting is imposed, and continued use of the service counts as consent to transfer personal data there
- The contribution licence in section 9 is unusually broad, granting a perpetual, sublicensable and resellable right over submitted content, which sits awkwardly beside the ownership clause that follows it
- Automated cleaning repairs data silently by design: trusting corrected figures without reading the change log can quietly propagate an error into every downstream decision
- An assistant that answers a business question in one sentence invites people to stop interrogating the number, and the confidence of the answer is not evidence that the underlying reading of the data is right
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Very low for everyday use. There is nothing to install and no SQL to write: you paste a database URL or drag in a spreadsheet, and the platform discovers the schema and the table relationships on its own. The publisher claims a first dashboard within minutes. Embedding is a different matter and needs a developer, since it involves the @onvo-ai/react package and per-user tokens; the real obstacle there is that no documentation is hosted on the site, only in the publisher's GitHub organisation. SSO and SAML are restricted to the Enterprise plan.

Should you pick Onvo AI?
Onvo AI is a working product rather than a landing page. The application is live, the embedding SDK has 428 published versions and was updated in May 2026, and the site carries 67 blog posts, 18 industry pages and a fully identified Delaware publisher with a postal address, a telephone number and a named Data Protection Officer. The proposition is coherent too: connecting a database or a spreadsheet, having the mess cleaned automatically, and getting a live dashboard that can be shared by link or embedded white-labelled into another product answers a real gap, and the interactive demos on the homepage show the interface instead of describing it.
The reservations are about documentation rather than substance. Security is the clearest example: SOC 2 Type II, TLS 1.3 and AES-256 are asserted in a single FAQ answer, with no security page, no attestation and no auditor named. There is no Data Processing Agreement, no subprocessor list and no EU Article 27 representative, while hosting is United States only. Six navigation links, Docs and Help Center among them, point at a dead anchor, and the legal documents have not been revised since December 2024. The commercial story wobbles as well, with three different plan names across the pricing grid, the FAQ and the terms, and a volume surcharge that only the terms mention.
For a small team that wants dashboards without running a BI project, the entry price is modest and the trial costs nothing but three days. For a regulated buyer, or anyone who needs a signed DPA and European hosting, the paperwork is not there yet. Read the terms before committing: they exclude HIPAA, FISMA and Gramm-Leach-Bliley use cases outright.
