What is go2signals?

go2signals is the software package that PROCITEC GmbH, a specialist based in Pforzheim, Germany, sells for the monitoring and analysis of wireless communication signals. The decoder library covers military, PMR, satellite, analogue speech and Morse traffic, and more than 350 modem types are supported. In manual mode an analyst can measure the parameters of an unidentified signal, work through its bit stream with search, measurement and logic functions, and then build a decoder for it in the pyDDL description language.

The same functions are sold to system integrators as an OEM core, with or without the graphical interface, driven through an open TCP control interface with an ICD and a documented API. Hardware is free choice COTS: receivers connect through existing drivers or open interfaces such as ExtIO and VITA 49, and deployments range from a highly mobile manpack to a semi-stationary or multi-user installation on land, at sea or in the air.

One caveat matters for readers of an AI directory: PROCITEC does not market go2signals as an artificial intelligence product. Across the pages collected, the word appears exactly once, in a sentence about keeping up with technology. What the software automates is signal recognition and classification.

GDPR overview

PROCITEC GmbH is a German company, so the GDPR applies directly. Its privacy statement names the controller (PROCITEC GmbH, Rastatter Straße 41, Pforzheim) under Article 4(7), designates an external data protection officer by name (PROLIANCE GmbH, Leopoldstraße 21, Munich), lists the data subject rights of Articles 15 to 21 plus the right to complain to a supervisory authority, and cites its legal bases explicitly, including Article 6(1)(a), Article 6(1)(f) and Section 25(1) TTDSG. The scope is narrow, however: the document states that it informs about data collected during use of the website, and says nothing about the go2signals software or about data handled by customers. On the product side, results are held in a local database and old entries are deleted automatically after one week by default, a setting operators can change in the application; the oldest data is also removed automatically when the disk runs close to full. During an offline mission, narrowband recordings made only to allow recognition and decoding are deleted once processed, and only the recording information remains in the database. On the website side, connection data is stored temporarily and deleted after a short time, contact form details are deleted once the enquiry has been handled, and job applications are erased after six months unless the applicant agrees otherwise, with statutory retention periods reserved. No contractual retention rule exists for the product, since no terms and conditions are published.

Hosting summary

go2signals is installed on the customer's own Windows or Linux machines, so PROCITEC hosts no operational data: the results database, the I/Q recordings and the audio files are written locally, and the vendor's own FAQ gives the directory paths on both operating systems. No hosting country or region is declared anywhere for the product, which is consistent with an on-premise deployment. Two things should not be confused with it.
