Overview

What is Neverinstall?

Neverinstall is a desktop virtualisation platform published from Bengaluru by Get Skilled Services Private Limited. It delivers a complete computer, operating system, applications, storage and compute, from the cloud into a browser tab or into any RDP client. The principle is described plainly on the site: operating systems run in cloud-native environments with virtual displays, the video is streamed to the browser, and mouse and keyboard input is forwarded back in near real time.

The platform is sold as three complementary blocks. Neverinstall DaaS provides fully managed cloud PCs with the compute, controls and operating system the customer chooses. Neverinstall VDI addresses organisations that want the same experience inside their own walls; the vendor advertises a greenfield on-premise deployment within a week, together with identity provider and Active Directory integration. CloudLink connects an existing Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud account, so that the control plane, the networking and the workspaces all run in the customer's tenant, preserving existing governance, IAM and RBAC policies as well as audit logs.

Daily use revolves around a space, a set of pre-selected and pre-installed applications. More than a hundred applications are advertised, and the documentation names development tools such as VS Code, PyCharm, Jupyter and Android Studio, browsers including Chrome, Firefox and Brave, and utilities like Obsidian, Slack and Telegram. A session can run for up to six hours at a stretch, pauses automatically after thirty minutes of inactivity and can be saved for later. Sudo access lets users install their own software, and GPU capacity is available on demand.

Administration happens in one console: resource configuration, deployment, scaling, workspace rules, profile management and multi-factor authentication. Neverinstall claims a reduction in total cost of ownership of more than 52 percent and network speeds up to 5 Gbps, and presents its zero-trust architecture as a way to support PCI-DSS, HIPAA, FINRA and SOC requirements. Clients exist for the web, Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, although multi-monitor support is marked as unavailable.

What it does

  • Launch a full cloud PC in a browser tab, with nothing to install
  • Assemble a workspace from an operating system and pre-installed applications
  • Connect an existing AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or Oracle Cloud tenant through CloudLink
  • Deploy virtual desktop infrastructure on your own premises
  • Administer machines, users and workspace rules from a single console
  • Reach the same desktop from a browser or from any RDP client, on any device
  • Install additional software yourself thanks to sudo access

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how Neverinstall handles your data.

GDPR overview

GDPR is claimed in one place only: the security page of the product documentation states that Neverinstall adheres to obligations under laws such as GDPR regarding the processing and sharing of customer data. The privacy policy published on the website itself takes a different footing entirely, drafted under India's Information Technology Act 2000 and the 2011 sensitive-data rules, with Indian law and the courts of Bengaluru governing disputes. It does list data-subject rights close to European ones, including access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection, exercised by writing to the generic support address, and commits to deletion within thirty days. There is no Data Processing Agreement, no Article 27 EU representative, no named data protection officer and no formal subprocessor page, though four third-party services are identified in the policy.

Who owns the data?

The terms place responsibility for content on the customer: you may only submit information you own or have the right to use. Neverinstall states in its security documentation that it has no access to data entered inside the applications running in a workspace, and describes itself as a data processor and, in some cases, a data controller. The privacy policy limits personal data collection to name and email at sign-up, plus address and phone number at payment. Information may be shared with service providers, disclosed when legally compelled, and transferred in a merger or acquisition. With CloudLink, workspaces and data remain inside the customer's own cloud account.

Reuse rights

Users keep what they create inside their workspace, but the licence granted over Neverinstall's own platform content is narrow: it may be viewed, downloaded and printed for personal, non-commercial purposes only, with no right to sublicense, redistribute, resell or reverse engineer. Reselling subscriptions is explicitly forbidden and grounds for permanent termination. One clause deserves attention in the opposite direction: any testimonial or feedback given to Neverinstall is covered by a perpetual, irrevocable licence allowing the company to publish it for marketing purposes without compensation.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
The privacy policy commits to deleting information within thirty days of receiving a deletion request. Beyond that, data may be kept where a dispute or claim is unresolved, where the law requires it, in aggregated or anonymised form, or for legitimate business interests such as fraud prevention and user safety. The terms of service add that material flagged as unlawful may be preserved for at least ninety days so it can be produced to the authorities. Closing an account ends access to the data and files kept on the platform. The security documentation mentions a formal process for individuals to request deletion. No default retention period is published for session data or for the contents of a workspace.

Hosting summary

Neverinstall's documentation lists nine server locations across seven countries: the United States (New York, Dallas and North Virginia), India (Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi and Pune), Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, Finland and Canada. That page is itself marked as last updated two years ago. The privacy policy names Microsoft Azure among the third-party services used, and states that information is kept in locations outside the direct control of the company, on hosting providers' infrastructure, with transfers outside the user's own country possible on the basis of consent. The security documentation adds that encrypted backups are replicated to a separate data centre region and spread across availability zones. With CloudLink the picture changes: data, networking and administrative controls remain inside the customer's own cloud tenant, which is the option to consider where data residency matters. The governing law throughout is Indian, with exclusive jurisdiction in Bengaluru.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Neverinstall.

  • Legal and technical documentation is out of step with the product: the terms and privacy policy are dated December 2022 and several documentation pages are marked as last updated two to three years ago, while 2026 features are being sold
  • The GDPR claim appears only in a documentation page; the privacy policy on the site is drafted under Indian law, and no DPA, Article 27 representative or data protection officer is published
  • Liability is capped at INR 1,000, roughly twelve US dollars, which is negligible for a platform meant to host an entire workforce's desktops
  • One clause in the terms states that services may be available on working days from Monday to Friday except public holidays, which sits awkwardly with a tool people rely on to work
  • The footer reads Neverinstall Inc. while the legal entity in the terms is an Indian private limited company, and no US entity is documented anywhere
  • Compliance names on the homepage, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, FINRA and SOC, are presented as requirements the platform helps support, not as audited certifications the vendor holds
  • Moving every desktop into someone else's cloud concentrates risk: an account suspension, a session limit or an outage removes the working environment entirely, and the terms allow termination without notice
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Very low for an individual: you sign in, create a space by picking an operating system and applications, and start working in the browser with nothing to install. Connecting your own cloud through CloudLink takes three steps, choosing a provider and region, authenticating, then opening the workspace. An on-premise VDI rollout is a project rather than a click, though the vendor advertises a greenfield deployment within a week and claims no specialist certification is needed to administer it. Migrations from Citrix come with hands-on assistance and training.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does a Neverinstall virtual desktop actually work?
An operating system runs in a cloud-native environment with a virtual display. The video is streamed to your browser while your mouse and keyboard input is forwarded back to the machine in near real time, so the desktop behaves like a local one.
Do I need to install anything?
Not for browser access: you open the site, sign in and start your cloud PC. Clients are also offered for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, and the same desktop can be reached through any RDP client.
Is there a free plan, and what does the first paid plan cost?
Yes. The free plan gives two session hours in total with access to all applications. The first paid tier is Starter at USD 50 per month, or USD 135 per quarter and USD 504 per year. A fixed 18% tax is applied according to the terms of service.
Can I run workspaces in my own cloud account?
Yes, through CloudLink. You choose Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud and a region, authenticate with your provider, and the control plane, networking and workspaces run inside your tenant while your IAM and RBAC controls stay in place.
Where are the servers located?
The documentation lists nine locations across seven countries: the United States (New York, Dallas, North Virginia), India (Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune), Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, Finland and Canada. That page is marked as last updated two years ago.
How long can a session run?
A session can run continuously for up to six hours, and idle spaces are paused automatically after thirty minutes. Paid plans include a monthly quota of session hours, one hundred on both Starter and Premium.
Is there an API for automating deployments?
No. Neither the website nor the product documentation publishes an API reference or a developer section, so provisioning is done through the administration console.
What is the minimum age to use the service?
Eighteen. Both the terms of service and the privacy policy require users to be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract.
Can I have my data deleted?
Yes. The privacy policy commits to deleting information within thirty days of a deletion request, though some records may be kept longer for unresolved disputes, legal obligations or in anonymised form.
How do I get support?
Through live chat, by writing to the support address with a stated response time of 24 hours, or through the Discord and Reddit communities. The terms add a commitment to acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and address them within 30 days.
Conclusion

Should you pick Neverinstall?

Neverinstall is a real, working product rather than a promise: the pricing is itemised down to the vCPU, the documentation stands on its own, the server locations are named country by country, and the publisher is identifiable as Get Skilled Services Private Limited in Bengaluru, complete with a corporate identification number. The proposition is easy to grasp, which is part of its appeal. Replace a heavy virtual desktop stack with machines that open in a browser tab, and choose whether they run on Neverinstall's infrastructure or inside your own cloud account. For IT teams squeezed by legacy VDI licensing, for developers whose laptops cannot keep up with their toolchain, and for schools that need identical workstations on any device, it is worth a serious look, and the free plan makes that look cheap. Two reservations deserve to be weighed before signing. The legal documents date from December 2022 and parts of the documentation are two to three years old, while the commercial pages advertise 2026 features such as Oracle Cloud support; the paperwork has not kept pace with the product. And the European picture is thin: GDPR compliance is asserted once, in a documentation page, whereas the privacy policy published on the site is written under Indian law, with no Data Processing Agreement, no Article 27 representative and no formal list of subprocessors. The compliance badges displayed on the homepage, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, FINRA and SOC, describe requirements a customer may support using virtual desktops, not certifications the vendor holds. None of this disqualifies the platform; it simply means a procurement team in the European Union will have questions the website does not answer, and should ask them before committing.
