Overview

What is Nora AI?

Nora AI is an AI interviewer built for recruiters, published by Intern Guys, Inc. under the Nora AI brand. Its promise is narrow and measurable: take the first screening round off a recruiter's calendar. The company claims roughly 16 hours saved per role, with interviews running about fifteen minutes per candidate. The workflow starts from a job description. Nora reads it, generates an interview script and a set of scoring criteria, then hands both back for editing: questions can be added, rewritten, reordered or deleted, and scoring weights and must-have requirements are set per role. Candidates receive a link, pick their own slot and take the interview on their own device, with no account and nothing to install. Nora conducts the conversation by voice and follows up on what the candidate actually says rather than reading a fixed list. What comes back is an audit trail rather than a verdict. Each interview produces a video recording, a complete transcript and a scored report covering technical skills, soft skills and cultural fit, broken down question by question, with separate readings for composure, clarity, warmth, answer relevance and professionalism. A resume screening module parses PDF and DOCX files into structured data and returns similarity scores against the job description, so recruiters can decide who is worth an interview link at all. Two capabilities sit alongside the core product. A cheating detection layer combines visual cues, device behaviour such as window switching and paste events, and audio anomalies, flagging suspicious moments with timestamps — the vendor is careful to say Nora provides signals and the recruiter makes the call. A free LinkedIn Fake Profile Checker scores a public profile against seventeen or more risk signals. Nora connects to an applicant tracking system through an API key, importing live positions and applicants and triggering interviews manually or on a stage change; JobAdder is implemented through OAuth and JazzHR is cited. The product can be fully white-labelled with a customer's own assets. It is web-only and English-only, and usage is metered in interview credits.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Unusually complete legal and security paperwork for a company this size: seven dated documents, including a genuine DPA and a named subprocessor list
  • Contractual commitment never to train models on customer data, extended to bias audits and benchmarking
  • Every interview leaves a full transcript and a recording, which makes shortlist decisions auditable
  • Demographic attributes are excluded from the evaluation pipeline by design
  • Cheating detection is framed as a signal for a human to interpret, not as a verdict
  • Candidate self-scheduling removes the calendar back-and-forth entirely
  • AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, role-based access control and audit logging

Cons

  • No pricing page at all: the FAQ sends every question about cost to a demo booking
  • The only public price, 399 USD per month, appears in a case study rather than on a rate card
  • No postal address anywhere, and the privacy policy's contact section is still an unfilled template
  • SOC 2 Type II is described as in progress against a Q2 2025 target, in a document dated October 2025
  • A single named person fields legal, GDPR and security enquiries alike
  • No public API, no mobile app, and no language other than English is announced
  • The DPA points to a subprocessors page that does not exist as a route on the site
Pricing

Pricing & Plans

Nora AI does not publish a rate card. The FAQ states that pricing is tiered, with a low per-interview cost on the bulk plan, and directs prospects to book a demo. The only figure published anywhere on the site is 399 USD per month for the Starter Plan, quoted twice within a customer case study. Usage is metered in interview credits, and exhausting them opens a custom-pricing conversation rather than a self-service upgrade. No free trial is advertised. The Terms of Service refer in passing to a free account among client access modes, but no page describes a permanent free plan.

Plan 1

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how Nora AI handles your data.

GDPR overview

Nora AI publishes a full Data Processing Agreement, last updated February 2026, that expressly governs processing under the EU GDPR 2016/679 and the UK GDPR, with the customer as controller and Nora AI as processor. Transfers outside the EEA and the UK rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. The agreement covers assistance with data subject rights, a 48-hour breach notification, a 14-day objection window on new subprocessors, and confirms a completed DPIA for AI-based candidate evaluation. Two security documents describe practices as aligned with GDPR and CCPA principles. Two gaps stand out: no Article 27 EU representative is named anywhere, and the privacy policy's contact section is still an unfilled template that lists a mailing address as something to add. Compliance here is claimed alignment, not certification.

Who owns the data?

Under the Terms of Service you keep ownership of everything you submit, and Nora AI receives a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use that content solely to provide and improve the Service. The security brief is more explicit about recruitment data: the customer remains owner and controller of candidate data, while Nora AI acts only as a processor. The Data Processing Agreement reinforces this, restricting processing to the customer's documented instructions and requiring all personal data to be deleted or returned when the contract ends, at the customer's election. Candidate answers and evaluations are disclosed to the recruiter who initiated the interview.

Reuse rights

An end user cannot freely reuse someone else's data. Candidate answers and evaluations are released only to the recruiter who initiated the interview, and that recruiter is contractually responsible for holding the consents that make the processing lawful in the first place. Within their own hiring process, recruiters can review, download, share and store transcripts and recordings, and send rejection or hiring emails from the dashboard. On the vendor side, the privacy policy allows aggregated, anonymised or de-identified data to be used to improve the service, while the Data Processing Agreement forbids any use of customer personal data — candidate records, interview content, transcripts, recordings, scores and results — to train, fine-tune or improve AI models, and equally forbids using it for bias audits or benchmarking on behalf of another customer.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
Nora AI states that candidate data is deleted within 30 days of a role closing or on request, and the site's FAQ repeats that data is kept for 30 days after a decision. When a contract ends, or whenever the customer asks, personal data is removed from production systems and purged from backups within 90 days, with written confirmation available on request. Retention periods are configurable by the customer and presented as a compliance feature, so the effective retention for a given candidate depends on the recruiter's settings rather than on a single vendor rule. Recruiter account and interview data is kept for the length of the subscription plus a reasonable period afterwards. Application, authentication and audit logs are retained for operational and compliance purposes with no published duration, and data may be kept longer where the law requires it.

Hosting summary

Nora AI runs on a multi-cloud architecture hosted in the United States. The front end sits on Microsoft Azure, the back end on Kamatera Cloud Solutions, and files — resumes, audio and video — on AWS S3 with server-side encryption, versioning and cross-region replication. AI processing goes to OpenAI, speech-to-text to AssemblyAI and text-to-speech to Google Cloud. Payments run through Stripe and support through Gleap, the only subprocessor listed in both the EU and the United States. The subprocessor list is published and dated 7 February 2026, and any change carries fourteen days' notice with a right of objection. Data is encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit, SQL Server databases use Transparent Data Encryption, and tenants are separated logically by a tenant ID verified on every query. Backups run daily with point-in-time restore; stated objectives are a 4 to 8 hour recovery time, a 24 hour recovery point and 99.5% availability. The privacy policy is explicit that data from users outside the United States is transferred there, with Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK addendum covering transfers out of the EEA and the UK.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Nora AI.

  • An AI-scored interview decides who reaches a human being; a candidate filtered out at this stage may never learn why, and has no obvious route to challenge the score
  • Cheating detection watches faces, gaze, window switching and audio during a job interview — a level of surveillance candidates may accept only because refusing costs them the role
  • Standardised scripts reduce interviewer bias but move it upstream, into the rubric and the model; excluding demographic attributes is a stated design choice, not an audited result
  • Recruiters can start trusting a score they did not compute and stop reading the transcript that justifies it
  • Voice, video and resumes of every applicant sit with a young US company and its AI subprocessors; deletion is promised within 30 days of a role closing, but the customer configures that setting, not the candidate
  • The no-training commitment is contractual rather than technical, and the privacy policy scopes it to customers under a DPA, so a smaller customer may not be covered by the same guarantee
  • A 4.8 out of 5 rating on 100 reviews is published as structured data with no independent verification behind it
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low. Nora AI is a web application with nothing to install: create a recruiter account, enter a job description, and the tool generates the script and the scoring criteria. Connecting an applicant tracking system means pasting an API key, after which importing positions takes a minute or two; JobAdder uses a standard OAuth flow. Resumes upload by drag and drop in PDF or DOCX. Candidates need no account and no software — a link, a chosen slot and a browser. The vendor claims most teams run their first interviews the same day, and dedicated onboarding is part of the offer.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of roles can Nora AI interview for?
Any role. You enter a job description and Nora generates an interview script tailored to it, from frontline and seasonal positions through to technical and white-collar roles.
How much does Nora AI cost?
There is no public rate card. Pricing is tiered, with a lower cost per interview on the bulk plan, and the site directs you to a demo. The only published figure is 399 USD per month for the Starter Plan, which appears inside a customer case study.
Can I use my own interview questions?
Yes. The generated script is fully editable: you can add technical, cultural-fit or hard screening questions, rewrite them, reorder them or delete them, and set scoring weights role by role.
What does a recruiter get after each interview?
A video recording, a complete transcript, and a scored report covering technical skills, soft skills and cultural fit, broken down question by question, together with any moments flagged by cheating detection.
Does Nora AI connect to my applicant tracking system?
Yes, through an API key. Nora imports active positions and applicants, and interviews can be triggered manually or automatically when a candidate reaches a given stage. JobAdder is implemented and JazzHR is cited.
Is candidate data used to train AI models?
The Data Processing Agreement forbids using customer personal data — candidate records, interview content, transcripts, recordings, scores and results — to train, fine-tune or improve any model. The privacy policy scopes that commitment to customers under a DPA, and allows aggregated, anonymised data to be used for service improvement.
Where is the data hosted, and for how long?
In the United States: Microsoft Azure, AWS S3, Kamatera, OpenAI, Google Cloud and Stripe, with Gleap handling support from the EU and the United States. Data is deleted within 30 days of a role closing or on request, and purged from backups within 90 days of contract termination.
Is there a free trial or a free plan?
Neither is advertised. The commercial entry point is a demo booking. The Terms of Service mention a free account among client access modes, but no page describes a permanent free plan.
Is there a mobile app or a public API?
No. Nora AI is a web application only, no API documentation is published, and API or SDK access is described in a case study as a future step.
What is the minimum age to use the service?
18. Both the Terms of Service and the privacy policy state that the service is not intended for anyone under 18.
Conclusion

Should you pick Nora AI?

Nora AI is a real, working product, and the collected pages leave little doubt about it: nineteen application routes, a complete recruiter dashboard, six recorded interviews, a named customer case study and thirty product-specific FAQ entries. Behind the brand sits Intern Guys, Inc., a young company whose domain was registered in February 2025. What sets it apart from most tools its size is the paperwork. Seven dated legal and security documents, a genuine Data Processing Agreement invoking the GDPR and the UK GDPR, a named subprocessor list, Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers, and a contractual promise never to train models on customer data. In a category where candidates hand over their voice, their face and their resume, that weighs more than the feature list. The reservations come in two kinds. First, commercial opacity: there is no pricing page, and the single figure a buyer can find, 399 USD per month, sits inside a case study. Second, small signs of youth — no postal address anywhere, a privacy policy whose contact section is still an unfilled template, a security roadmap frozen in 2025, and one person answering for legal, privacy and security alike. For a team drowning in first-round screening, especially in high-volume, seasonal or founder-led hiring, Nora AI is worth the demo, and its documentation is solid enough to put in front of a legal reviewer. Ask for the current rate card, the real SOC 2 status and a written retention setting before signing — and keep a human reading the transcript behind every flag.
