Matchplat Explore
Matchplat Explore is a B2B company scouting platform: describe your target in plain language, filter across 196 countries, assess financial health and reach decision-makers, then export the results or push them into your CRM through the API.
What is Matchplat Explore?
Matchplat Explore is the scouting module of the Matchplat Suite, the B2B data platform published by the Italian company Matchplat S.r.l. The same suite also offers DataHub for monitoring and CRM | SRM for engagement; Explore covers the discovery step. Its stated purpose is to identify companies, assess their financial health and connect with the right people all around the world, whether those companies are prospective customers, suppliers, distributors or partners.
The starting point is a conversational AI agent: you describe your target in one sentence and the agent builds the search. Advanced filters then refine it by geographic area, company type, patents, certifications, materials used and financial data. Results arrive as interactive reports with charts and maps covering registry information, financial data, contacts and email addresses, and any company profile opens in a single click. From that profile the platform analyses financial health and surfaces the decision-makers together with their professional email addresses. Interactions can be tracked inside the tool, and the selection can be exported as a file or pushed into Matchplat's own CRM | SRM module or into the customer's own system through an API.
The data estate the publisher claims is large: more than 600 million companies, 250 million financial records, one billion people profiles and over 23 billion web pages across 196 countries. It is assembled from official registers and chambers of commerce, from a strategic alliance with Moody's for balance sheets and ratings, from open sources and professional social networks, and from the open web. Matchplat names its own technology bricks: MP Crawler for large-scale page extraction, MP Embedder, a neural network trained on the texts of 530 million companies to suggest similar ones, MP Reader for semantic analysis and MP Recognizer for company-name recognition.
Access is through a web application reached by single sign-on, and there is no mobile application. The audiences named on the site are marketing and sales, procurement, M&A, corporate teams, banks and insurers, governments, marketing agencies, consultants and integrators. The publisher's own boundary matters too: the service is meant for business information, and it explicitly excludes any assessment of an individual's solvency or reliability.
What it does
- Find companies anywhere in the world by describing the target in a single sentence to the AI agent
- Narrow the result set with advanced filters: geographic area, company type, patents, certifications, materials used and financial data
- Open a full company profile in one click and assess its financial health from balance sheets, ratings and indicators
- Identify decision-makers and board roles, and retrieve their professional email addresses
- Read interactive reports with charts and maps covering registry data, financials, contacts and email addresses
- Track interactions with companies and contacts inside the platform
- Export the selection to a file or push it into a CRM, SRM or ERP through the API
When to use Matchplat Explore / When not to
A quick filter to help you decide if Matchplat Explore is the right fit.
When to use Matchplat Explore
- Sales and export teams prospecting for new customers, distributors or partners in international markets
- Buyers and sourcing managers looking for alternative suppliers, a use case the publisher claims more than 800 procurement teams rely on
- M&A advisers and analysts building shortlists of acquisition targets that are already qualified financially
- Banks, insurers, large corporates and public bodies mapping supplier and industry ecosystems
- Marketing agencies, consultants and system integrators that resell or embed company data, the publisher's "Dealer" audience
When not to use Matchplat Explore
- Buyers who want to compare prices and subscribe on their own: no amount is published anywhere, and every pricing button leads to a contact form
- Teams that need to work from a phone: no iOS or Android application exists
- Anyone expecting Explore to come with the free Suite sign-up: it is listed among the paid modules, and its free scope is never described
- Credit, risk or HR users who want to score the solvency or reliability of individuals: the publisher explicitly rules that use out
- B2C marketers and consumer-facing brands: the data estate covers companies and their officers, not private consumers
How to use Matchplat Explore
A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.
- Sign up for free to the Matchplat Suite from the Plans page; the free sign-up covers the Suite, while Explore is one of the paid modules to add
- Contact the publisher through the form to obtain Explore, since every pricing call-to-action leads there; a demonstration can be requested the same way
- Sign in through single sign-on and open the Explore web application
- Set up your company searches by describing the target to the AI agent in one sentence
- Refine the selection with the advanced filters: geography, company type, patents, certifications, materials and financial data
- Review your results in the interactive reports, with their charts and maps
- Open individual company profiles to check financial health and find the decision-makers and their professional email addresses
- Manage your company relationships by tracking interactions inside the platform
- Export the selection to a file, or connect the API to feed a CRM, SRM or ERP
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Very broad claimed coverage: 196 countries, more than 600 million companies and one billion people profiles
- Financial qualification built into the search itself, with a strategic alliance with Moody's cited for balance sheets and ratings
- Decision-makers and their professional email addresses reachable in the same workflow as the company search
- Natural-language search through the AI agent, with advanced filters behind it when precision is needed
- API integration towards CRM, SRM and ERP systems, plus the publisher's own CRM | SRM module
- Named and attributed customer testimonials, including Metal Work S.P.A., Fitt S.P.A, Pulverit S.P.A., Ecopack S.P.A., O.P. S.R.L., Italtecnica S.R.L., Argoclima S.P.A., JSW Steel Italy, EMEC S.R.L., Gorman Rupp Pumps and Risograph Italia S.R.L.
- European publisher, with processing framed by a prefectural authorisation and a formally appointed DPO, and a commercial site in Italian, English and Spanish
Cons
- No public price at all: not one amount and not one tier, in any of the three locales
- Explore is a paid module, and the site never states what the free Suite sign-up actually covers for it
- No security certification such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2 is claimed, no data hosting country is stated, and no data processing agreement is mentioned
- The list of processors is not published: it can only be consulted at the registered office
- The API documentation sits on a separate domain, matchplat.io, whose automated access is refused
- The English locale is unfinished: the Technology page is untranslated, carries a literal "Lorem ipsum" and three dead calls-to-action, and an Italian sentence remains on the English product page
- Showcase figures contradict each other, the product page claiming "over 1,000" and then "over 2,000" companies a few paragraphs apart, and the published help centre at support.matchplat.com is empty, with no article and no support address
Pricing & Plans
No price is published. A sweep of twenty-two pages across the three locales, Italian, English and Spanish, returns no amount, no tier and no range for Explore; the single figure on the whole site is the share capital stated in the legal notice, which is not a price. The published mechanism is the following: sign-up to the Matchplat Suite is free, Explore is listed among the Paid Modules to be added alongside DataHub and CRM | SRM, and every pricing call-to-action leads to the contact form, where a quotation has to be requested. The Technology page refers to subscription plans without giving a single figure. No free trial is announced anywhere, and the free sign-up covers the Suite rather than the Explore module itself.

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Matchplat Explore handles your data.
GDPR overview
Implementation is concrete and documented. Matchplat publishes notices under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 in Italian, English and Spanish, plus a dedicated "Informativa artt. 13 e 14" PDF for telemarketing that points to the Italian Registro delle Opposizioni. A Data Protection Officer is formally appointed under Article 37, LTA S.r.l. represented by Dott. Luigi Recupero, reachable at privacy@matchplat.com. The notices list the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection, the right not to be subject to a fully automated decision, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular the Italian Garante. Two limits are worth noting: the Article 14 notice addresses the individuals recorded in the database, not the tool's customers, and no security certification, no processing agreement and no processor list are published, the processor list being available only at the registered office.
Who owns the data?
Matchplat S.r.l., a company subject to management and coordination by Mobo Holding S.r.l., is the data controller. Two separate notices are published, and they should not be confused: a service privacy policy issued under Article 14 to the people recorded in the database, such as company officers and shareholders, and a website privacy policy under Article 13 that covers browsing only. Those records come from public registers, lists, deeds and documents open to anyone, from the individuals themselves, or from private suppliers under agreement, and the activity runs under a prefectural authorisation (Article 134 T.U.L.P.S.). An up-to-date list of processors and system administrators exists but is held at the registered office, not online. A Data Protection Officer is appointed: LTA S.r.l., represented by Dott. Luigi Recupero, at privacy@matchplat.com.
Reuse rights
The site publishes no terms of use setting out what a subscriber may or may not do with the records it exports, so nothing states whether results can be reused, resold or shared without permission. What the publisher does define is its own purpose: business information, meaning making publicly available company information easier to find and identifying subjects for new business relationships, on the legal basis of legitimate interest (Article 6.1.f). The Article 14 notice, addressed to the people listed in the database rather than to customers, excludes special-category data (Article 9) and criminal-conviction data (Article 10), states that it covers neither direct marketing nor profiling, and explicitly rules out any evaluative processing, automated or manual, aimed at judging a person's soundness, solvency or reliability. Data minimisation is invoked (Articles 5.1.c and 25.2). Records are not disseminated; they may be communicated to bodies with a legal right of access and to designated staff and processors, and transfers outside the EU remain possible within the limits of Articles 44 to 50. On the website itself, Google Analytics (Google LLC, Mountain View, USA) and WordPress Stats are used, the US transfer resting on the Data Privacy Framework. In practice, how a buyer uses the decision-maker emails it obtains remains that buyer's own responsibility.

Hosting summary
The site says nothing about where the service's data is hosted. No hosting country, no region and no provider is named; the About page mentions secure and sustainable data centres without giving a location, and no certification such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2 is claimed anywhere. The only jurisdictional statements found concern other matters and should not be read as commitments about the product: the website privacy policy says browsing data is not transferred outside the EEA, the service notice allows transfers outside the EU within the limits of Articles 44 to 50 of the GDPR, and the cookie policy discloses a transfer to the United States for Google LLC under the Data Privacy Framework. The site's own server resolves to an Italian address (194.124.75.68, Bologna, AS202346), but that is where the marketing site is served from, not a declaration about the data held in the platform. Buyers who need a hosting location, a processor list or a data processing agreement will have to ask for them: none of the three is published.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Matchplat Explore.
- No budget can be estimated before a sales conversation: with no published price and no trial, the level of commitment stays unknown until you engage
- The free sign-up covers the Suite, not Explore; it is easy to assume a free scope for the module that the site never actually describes
- Showcase figures call for caution: "over 1,000" and "over 2,000" companies coexist on the same product page, and the claim of being Europe's number one in data intelligence carries no published reference
- The tool surfaces the professional email addresses of decision-makers; how they are used is the buyer's responsibility, since the publisher's own notice places direct marketing outside its scope while marketing and data protection rules still apply to whoever sends the message
- Governance disclosure is thin: no processor list online, no hosting country, no processing agreement and no security certification, all of which belong in the contract rather than on the website
- Trusting an AI-built shortlist without checking it: the agent turns a sentence into a query, but neither the ranking logic nor the freshness of each record is documented, so an unverified list can quietly narrow how a market is seen
- Rough edges to test before signing: the API documentation lives on a separate domain that refuses automated access, the Technology page is untranslated with dead links, and the published help centre is empty
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Low for everyday use, higher only if you integrate. The platform is a web application reached through single sign-on, so there is nothing to install and no client-side setup. Ordinary work needs no technical skill: the search is built by describing the target to the AI agent in plain language, then narrowed with filters. The technical effort sits entirely in the optional API integration towards a CRM, SRM or ERP, which is a development project and relies on documentation hosted on a separate domain. The site gives no public indication of implementation time or onboarding steps.

Should you pick Matchplat Explore?
Matchplat Explore is the scouting module of a European B2B data suite, and it is best judged on that footing. Its strength is the combination of three things usually bought separately: a very large claimed data estate, with more than 600 million companies and a billion people profiles across 196 countries; financial qualification drawn in part from a stated alliance with Moody's; and direct access to decision-makers and their professional email addresses, all inside one workflow driven by a conversational agent with advanced filters behind it. Export to a file or an API feed into a CRM, SRM or ERP closes the loop, and the publisher's own CRM | SRM module extends it. Named customers such as Metal Work S.P.A., Fitt S.P.A and JSW Steel Italy give the sales, procurement and M&A use cases some substance.
The reservations are just as clear. Pricing is entirely opaque: nothing is published in any of the three locales, Explore sits among the paid modules while only the Suite sign-up is free, and no trial is offered, so no budget can be estimated without a sales conversation. The English locale is unfinished, with an untranslated Technology page carrying a literal "Lorem ipsum" and dead links, and the product page contradicts itself on its own customer count. Disclosure on security and hosting is thin: no certification claimed, no hosting country stated, no processor list online and no processing agreement mentioned. The publisher's claim to be Europe's #1 company in Data Intelligence comes with no published reference and should be read as marketing.
For procurement, sales, M&A, banking and insurance, public bodies, agencies and integrators who need worldwide company discovery with financial context, Explore is worth a demonstration, provided the pricing and governance questions are put to the vendor directly.
