What is RBfracture?

RBfracture is a Software as a Medical Device developed by Radiobotics ApS in Copenhagen and intended exclusively for healthcare professionals. It is a computer-assisted detection and diagnosis tool that reviews trauma skeletal radiographs alongside the clinician, surfacing findings that are easy to miss under emergency-department pressure. The vendor is explicit on two points: the software is not available for purchase by the general public, and it is not intended to replace clinical judgement or to serve as the sole basis for a diagnosis or a treatment decision.

The software reads plain X-rays and flags four families of findings. Fractures are detected across the entire appendicular skeleton, covering hip, pelvis, femur, knee, crus, hand, wrist, fingers, elbow, humerus, foot, ankle, toes, forearm, shoulder and ribs, as well as the thoracic and lumbar spine. The tool also detects joint effusions in elbows and knees, and lipohaemarthrosis in knees, which typically signals an intra-articular fracture. Both paediatric and adult imaging are supported.

Two outputs sit on top of the detection itself. RBfracture can prioritise the reading worklist by writing configurable DICOM tags and wording into the PACS, so flagged studies surface sooner. It also generates a visual summary report with thumbnails and a red-dot indicator, letting a reader see at a glance which examinations carry a suspected finding.

Radiobotics publishes the figures behind its claims: 94% accuracy, specificity and sensitivity, a median processing time of 13 seconds per examination, and an 86% reduction in the missed-fracture rate. The model was trained on emergency data from more than 1,300 hospitals worldwide. The case studies are named rather than anonymous. Kettering General Hospital, an NHS district hospital, reported 94% accuracy and specificity and an 86% fall in missed fractures, while the teleradiology provider One Laudos reported 97% accuracy and sensitivity, 96% specificity and an 88% reduction. GDPR overview

Radiobotics lists GDPR among its published certifications, and its terms name Regulation (EU) 2016/679 explicitly, alongside the California Consumer Privacy Act, as applicable data protection law. The privacy policy enumerates the full set of data-subject rights: access, restriction, rectification, erasure, withdrawal of consent, objection and portability. Transfers outside the EU rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards, and breach notification to affected parties and authorities is provided for. As the company is established in Denmark, no Article 27 representative is required and none is designated. Two gaps stand out: no data protection officer is named and no dedicated privacy address is published, so requests go through the generic contact form; and the policy still carries an effective date of 13 May 2023, three years older than the terms of service.

Who owns the data?

The demo terms are explicit that the customer keeps ownership: you retain all right, title and interest in the intellectual property in Your Data, understood as personal information, while Radiobotics owns and retains all intellectual property in the Services themselves. The vendor reserves a broad right to collect, use and analyse customer data in aggregated form to improve the quality of its services, on condition that no individual is identified and no personal data is published. A clinical deployment is an integration project.
