Under the hood the terms name OpenAI's GPT-4o and GPT-4o-mini, Azure OpenAI and Azure Document Intelligence for text extraction. There is no mobile app, and the terms say so directly.

GDPR overview
The acronym GDPR appears nowhere on the site, in visible text or in the underlying page source. That silence is worth stating plainly, because the substance is largely there. QUIZRISE LTD is a UK company governed by the law of England and Wales, and its privacy policy grants the familiar set of rights: access, correction, deletion, export, restriction of processing and objection. Requests go to hello@quizrise.com and are answered within 30 days. Section 14 of the terms doubles as a data processing agreement for business and institutional customers. International transfers are covered by adequacy, contractual protections and standard security practice. What is missing is any named compliance claim, any Article 27 EU representative and any designated data protection officer, which matters for European schools whose procurement asks for exactly those.
Who owns the data?
Users keep ownership of everything they upload or create. Section 6.1 of the terms is explicit: your material remains yours, and QuizRise receives only a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence. That licence covers four things and no more: running the content through the AI systems, storing and displaying it inside the service, enabling any sharing feature you switch on, and supporting or improving the product. Reuse rights
Because users retain ownership, the quizzes, flashcards and summaries they generate can be reused freely, without asking permission. QuizRise makes that practical rather than merely legal: content can be exported as PDF questions, PDF answer keys, DOCX, JSON, Moodle XML, GIFT, Aiken or Respondus files, printed, published behind a public link, restricted to a classroom, or embedded in an external website. PDF exports can carry an organisation's own logo and colours. Two limits apply. First, users warrant they hold the rights to whatever they upload, so third-party copyright travels with the source material. Second, the licence runs one way only: QuizRise's own platform, software and algorithms stay protected, and copying, modifying, redistributing or reverse-engineering them is forbidden without written permission.

Hosting is only partly disclosed. The privacy policy names Amazon Web Services as the cloud host but gives no region, and the terms add Microsoft Azure for AI services, document processing and cloud hosting. The jurisdiction of reference is the United Kingdom: QUIZRISE LTD is a London company and the policy frames transfers as going "outside the UK, including the United States", which is the only country named for processing anywhere on the site. Safeguards cited are countries the UK considers adequate, contractual protections with providers, and industry-standard security practice. Announced measures include encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, continuous monitoring and regular security audits. The site itself is served through Cloudflare on an anycast address. No data residency option, no regional choice and no hosting certification are offered, so buyers with a residency requirement will need to ask directly.
