Prime Teacher
Greek platform pairing a directory of private tutors with an in-app AI toolkit. Students and parents search and message teachers for free, while teachers use the Noema assistant to build exercises, mark work and turn recorded lessons into study material.
What is Prime Teacher?
Prime Teacher is a Greek platform that does two jobs at once: it is a directory of private tutors and, for those tutors, a set of AI tools built into the same account.
On the student side it is free and deliberately frictionless. Parents and students search without creating an account, filtering by subject, level, area, price and whether lessons are online or in person. Profiles carry ratings and reviews, and a verification badge indicates that the platform has checked the teacher's qualification against the subject taught. Contact happens through a form on the profile; details are revealed only once both sides agree. The catalogue is unusually wide — the sitemap lists roughly 450 distinct subjects, running from primary school through the Greek secondary curriculum to university and vocational topics such as actuarial mathematics, radiology, naval law and architectural composition.
On the teacher side, a public profile and unlimited enquiries are free, and the paid tiers buy AI capacity. Five tools are live: exercise generation from a chapter, automatic marking with comments and a grade, lesson-plan creation, audio analysis of a recorded lesson producing a transcript then a summary and exercises, and video analysis producing timestamped key moments. Alongside them sits Noema, a conversational assistant represented by a fox, available around the clock; on the student side it is designed to guide rather than hand over answers, under the teacher's supervision. Video calling is built in.
Usage is metered in Prime Tokens, a monthly allowance attached to each plan and spent as the AI tools are called. Tokens do not roll over.
The positioning is explicitly local: Greek curriculum, Greek team, Greek support, Athens business hours. The homepage claims five AI tools, a €13 welcome credit, free search, and over 500 school textbooks usable as source material. A number of advertised features, including scheduling and personalised assistants, are still marked as coming soon.

When not to use Prime Teacher
- Anyone who does not read Greek: the interface exists in Greek only, with no English version of the site
- Teams needing programmatic access: there is no public API and no developer documentation
- Users who want a native mobile app, as the product is a responsive website with no iOS or Android release
- Schools looking for a full learning management system, since the platform is built around one-to-one private lessons
- Buyers who need a signed DPA, a named subprocessor list or a security certification before purchasing

Data, GDPR & hosting
A consolidated view of how Prime Teacher handles your data.
GDPR overview
GDPR compliance is claimed explicitly and repeatedly, on the homepage, the about page, the pricing page, the terms and the privacy policy, both dated 29 April 2026. The privacy policy sets out the legal bases article by article: contract performance for delivering the service, explicit consent for recording lessons and analysing them with AI, legitimate interest for quality and safety, and legal obligation for tax purposes. The full set of rights is listed, including withdrawal of consent specifically for recording and AI analysis. Encryption and strict access controls are stated, with particular emphasis on recordings. For students under 15, consent is given by the holder of parental responsibility. Greek law applies and the courts of Athens have jurisdiction. No DPA and no named subprocessor list are published.
Who owns the data?
The terms draw a sharp line. Teachers and students keep the rights to material they upload, but grant the company a licence to use it inside the platform. The software, the AI tools and the code belong to the company. The clause that deserves attention concerns AI output: any content the AI generates automatically — summaries, tests, exercises — is declared the intellectual property of the company, with teachers and students receiving only a licence for personal educational use. In other words, a teacher who generates a lesson plan does not own it. Contact details between the two sides are exchanged only once both parties agree.
Reuse rights
Reuse is licensed rather than free. Material a user uploads stays theirs, so they may reuse it without asking. AI-generated output is different: the terms grant teachers and students a licence for personal educational use only, which stops short of unrestricted commercial reuse of material the platform produced. Lesson recordings carry their own rules — a teacher may record after telling the student beforehand, and using that recording outside the platform without consent is expressly forbidden. Students may ask for a given session not to be recorded, accepting that the automated AI features will then be unavailable for it. Users can export or delete their account and data from the settings at any time.

Hosting summary
The site states repeatedly, across the homepage, the about page, the pricing page and the teacher page, that data is encrypted and stored on servers within Europe, and describes the data as held in the EU. No individual hosting country is named anywhere on the site, and no hosting provider is identified, so the declaration should be read as a regional commitment rather than a specific jurisdiction. The privacy policy adds that recipients may include AI technology providers accessed through their APIs, along with hosting, payment and technical support providers, but it names none of them as a formal subprocessor list. Payment data is handled by Stripe and PayPal. Greek law governs the service and the courts of Athens have jurisdiction, which places the contractual jurisdiction in Greece regardless of where the servers physically sit. No data protection agreement is published, and no security certification such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2 is claimed.
Things to keep in mind
Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Prime Teacher.
- The publisher is only thinly identified: a company name with no legal form, registration number or postal address, which makes it hard to know who you are contracting with
- The support address shown most prominently is on a domain that is parked and advertised for sale and has no mail records, so messages sent there cannot arrive
- AI analysis is applied to audio and video recordings of lessons, including those of minors, for whom a parent must give consent below the age of 15
- Material generated by the AI belongs contractually to the publisher, not to the teacher who created it, which limits reuse outside the platform
- Leaning on automatic marking and generated exercises can erode a teacher's own assessment practice; the terms themselves place final responsibility for checking output on the teacher
- Students who rely on an always-available assistant may substitute it for the effort of working a problem through, even though Noema is designed to guide rather than answer
- Prices are advertised excluding VAT and monthly tokens expire unused, so real spending can exceed the headline figure
- Annual pricing appears only in the page's structured data and not in the visible table, so a cheaper yearly rate exists that most visitors will never be shown
Setup & Integrations
Technical difficulty
Very low. The product runs entirely in a browser, with nothing to install and no technical configuration. Students and parents need no account at all to search and make contact. Teachers register free of charge and the site describes profile creation as a two-minute task requiring no payment card. Video calling is built in, so no separate conferencing tool is needed. There is no API to connect and no integration work to plan.

Should you pick Prime Teacher?
Prime Teacher is a clear-headed piece of local product design. Rather than competing with global AI assistants, it takes a narrow market — private tutoring in Greece — and builds for it properly: the national curriculum, the language, a Greek support team on Athens hours, and a subject catalogue deep enough to cover university-level material as well as school work. The two-sided model is coherent, with students and parents using the directory free of charge and teachers paying for AI capacity rather than for visibility.
The commercial terms are among the most transparent in this category. A permanent free tier, a €13 welcome credit, entry pricing at €4 per month and cancellation at any time make the product easy to try without commitment, and the token system is honest about what each AI call costs.
Two reservations matter. The first concerns the publisher itself: the terms name a company but give no legal form, no registration number and no postal address, and the contact details are inconsistent — the support address displayed most prominently sits on a domain that is parked and offered for sale, and therefore cannot receive mail. For a platform handling audio and video recordings of minors, that thinness is a real gap rather than an administrative detail. The second is narrower: a significant part of the advertised feature table, including on paid tiers, is still labelled as coming soon, so buyers should check what is actually live before choosing a plan.
For a Greek tutor wanting free exposure and genuine time savings on preparation and marking, the offer is strong and cheap. Anyone who needs a contractually identifiable counterparty should ask for that information first.
