Overview

What is Teach Up?

Teach Up is a corporate learning platform published by Teach Up SAS, a Lyon company that belongs to the House of Learning group and describes a team of about thirty people split between Paris and Lyon. The product line is built around a trademarked method, Adaptive Training®, which combines short learning units, realistic practice situations and pedagogical coaching inside a single experience.

Two offers are sold. Adaptive Training® Studio is an LXP authoring tool designed to sit on top of an LMS or LCMS a company already owns: modules are delivered through SCORM 1.2 or 2004, and updates are streamed, so changing a course in Teach Up applies everywhere without a re-import. Adaptive Training® Platform is the all-in-one LCMS, adding a branded learner space, a catalogue with self-enrolment, learner and group administration, automated reminders and impact dashboards. A third component, Expert Coach, is sold separately: an on-demand AI coach, available around the clock, that a company builds from its own resources and attaches to existing modules or paths.

Three AI capabilities carry the product. A creation assistant ingests documents or a spoken brief, extracts the key notions, proposes a structure and generates a complete interactive module. An adaptive engine personalises delivery at two levels: Macro Adaptive Learning selects the content a given learner actually needs, Micro Adaptive Learning adjusts difficulty activity by activity. Learners then practise in written or spoken scenarios and receive immediate contextual feedback. The vendor grounds these mechanics in cognitive science — interleaved exercises, targeting the zone of proximal development, immediate feedback.

Sovereignty is put forward as a differentiator: software presented as developed entirely in France, the solution hosted by OVH Cloud on servers located in France, and contractual terms stating that no personal data leaves the European Union. Teach Up also states that customer content is never used to train public or shared models, and that third-party generative AI is optional and off by default.

Access is through the browser only, with no native mobile application. Nothing is priced publicly: amounts appear on the order form after a demo, and a fifteen-day free trial is documented in the terms.

What it does

  • Generate a complete interactive training module from existing PDFs, Office documents, articles or a spoken brief
  • Personalise each learner's path in real time, at course level and at activity level
  • Create AI-coached practice scenarios where learners answer in writing or out loud and receive immediate feedback
  • Build an on-demand Expert Coach from the company's own resources in a few minutes
  • Deliver the same module by assignment, by open link or as a streamed SCORM package inside an existing LMS
  • Translate a course automatically into 23 languages
  • Track completion, mastery, time spent and before-and-after impact on exportable dashboards

When to use Teach Up / When not to

A quick filter to help you decide if Teach Up is the right fit.

When to use Teach Up

  • Learning and development teams that must industrialise module production with very few people
  • Organisations that want to keep their existing LMS and enrich it through SCORM 1.2 or 2004 delivery
  • Companies running skills-critical training: sales, customer relations, regulatory compliance, technical trades, onboarding
  • Field and deskless populations reached by a direct link, with no account and no password
  • Buyers with sovereignty requirements who need hosting in France and no data transfer outside the European Union

When not to use Teach Up

  • Buyers who need a published price before talking to a salesperson: no amount appears anywhere on the site
  • Individuals and solo freelancers: the terms are reserved for professional buyers on a one-year minimum subscription
  • Teams expecting a native mobile application, since learners go through the responsive web interface only
  • Course authors working on small screens: creation requires a display of at least thirteen inches
  • Engineering teams that need public API documentation before committing to an integration

How to use Teach Up

A typical end-to-end flow, from setup to results.

  1. Request a demo through the form on the website, which opens the calendar of a Teach Up expert
  2. Ask for the trial: a login and password are sent by email and give fifteen days of free access to the applications
  3. Sign an order form, which sets the offer, the price, the number of end users and the effective date
  4. Receive administrator credentials and change the password immediately, as the terms require
  5. Import existing material — PDFs, Word, Excel or PowerPoint files, images, YouTube or Vimeo links, MP3 audio, SCORM packages
  6. Let the AI assistant extract the key notions, propose a structure and generate the interactive module
  7. Add AI-coached practice, choose written or spoken interaction, and attach an Expert Coach if needed
  8. Set up groups, roles, permissions and automatic assignment rules for the learner population
  9. Choose a delivery mode: direct assignment, open access link without an account, or streamed SCORM inside your LMS
  10. Follow completion, mastery and impact on the dashboards, and export the data into your HR or compliance reporting

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Unusually detailed contractual documentation published as a free PDF: hosting, subprocessor, retention, service levels and reversibility are all written down
  • Documented sovereignty: hosting with OVH Cloud in France, no transfer of personal data outside the European Union at the date of signature
  • Explicit commitment that customer content is never used to train public or shared AI models
  • Works with an existing LMS through SCORM rather than replacing it, with streamed updates that avoid re-imports
  • Fifteen-day free trial before any commitment
  • Human support is included: a dedicated customer success manager, weekly group training, masterclasses and a digital onboarding path
  • Reversibility is planned in the contract, with SCORM Offline exports that can be distributed without time limit

Cons

  • No public price at all: neither an amount, a tier nor a range appears on the pricing page
  • No permanent free plan; a named subscription is required, with a one-year default commitment renewed by tacit agreement
  • No native mobile application, on iOS or on Android
  • An open API is advertised on the product pages but no public documentation exists for it
  • Course creation is impossible on a screen smaller than thirteen inches
  • The website privacy policy and terms explicitly exclude the LXP platform, whose own policy is not published
  • The published terms are dated 1 January 2024 and still carry a former head office address and subscription names that no longer appear on the site
Pricing

Pricing & Plans

There is no permanent free plan. Access to the applications requires a named subscription, and the published terms state that once the trial period ends nothing remains usable until a subscription has been ordered and paid for. A free fifteen-day trial is available before signature. No price is published: the pricing page compares the features of the two offers without showing any amount, and the price, the discounts, the number of end users and the effective date are all set on the order form. Consequently no entry price, currency or billing unit can be reported. The default commitment is one year, renewed by tacit agreement for successive one-year periods.

Trust & Privacy

Data, GDPR & hosting

A consolidated view of how Teach Up handles your data.

GDPR overview

GDPR compliance is claimed in plain words in the vendor's FAQ, and the implementation is documented rather than merely asserted. Annex 4 of the published commercial terms contains full processor clauses: confidentiality, technical and organisational measures, breach assistance within 48 working hours, support for data-subject requests, and a processing register kept since 25 May 2018. The terms state that, as of signature, no personal data is transferred outside the European Union, all processing being carried out within the Union and notably in France. A data protection officer is reachable at dpo@teachup.com, and complaints may be filed with the French CNIL. No Article 27 representative is designated, which is consistent with a publisher established in France. Note that the website privacy policy explicitly excludes the LXP platform, which has its own policy.

Who owns the data?

The commercial terms are explicit: the customer is the sole holder of the rights over the data processed through the services, and access to that data is reserved to the customer alone. Teach Up receives only a non-exclusive, worldwide, free and non-transferable licence to host, cache, copy and display that data, strictly for the purpose of delivering the services. That licence ends automatically when the subscription ends, except where hosting must continue to support the reversibility process. Teach Up acts as a processor and the customer as controller. The software and its documentation, by contrast, remain entirely the property of Teach Up.

Reuse rights

Content created on the platform belongs to the customer, who decides how it is used, how it is distributed and in which formats, without having to ask the vendor. Modules can be delivered by assignment, through an open access link or exported as SCORM 1.2 or 2004 packages and run on any compatible LMS. At the end of a subscription, a written request to support@teachup.com allows the customer to retrieve designated modules as SCORM Offline packages, which may then be distributed without time limit — although Teach Up maintains them for one month only. On its side, Teach Up undertakes to process personal data solely on the customer's instructions, never for its own purposes or on behalf of third parties, and states that customer learning content is never used to train public or shared AI models. Third-party generative AI is optional and disabled by default; if the customer turns it on, that provider's own terms apply as well.

Data retention & training

Retention summary
On the platform, personal data is processed for the duration of the contract and deleted one year after the last day of the subscription. When the contract ends, whatever the cause, Teach Up destroys the personal data or returns it to the customer in a usable form, at the customer's choice. Modules can be recovered as SCORM Offline packages if a written request is sent in the month before the subscription ends, with delivery within fifteen days. Database backups are kept for seven days. On the marketing website, the separate privacy policy dated 1 September 2025 states that form data is kept for three years, with a general commitment not to retain personal data longer than the processing requires plus any legally mandated period. Newsletter unsubscription is available from every mailing.

Hosting summary

Two perimeters must be distinguished. The platform itself is hosted by OVH Cloud, with data stored on servers located in France; OVHCloud is named in the commercial terms as the sole further processor, and the terms state that at the date of signature no personal data is transferred outside the European Union, all processing taking place within the Union and notably in France. The host's own certifications are quoted — ISO/IEC 27001, PCI-DSS, HDS, SOC I-II type 2, CSA, STAR and CISPE among others — and belong to OVH Cloud, not to the publisher. Backups are incremental daily for media, hourly for the database with seven days of retention, and monthly for the file database on separate servers. The generative AI used by the product is described as hosted in Europe. Separately, the marketing website is hosted by Vercel Inc. in California and its form data sits in HubSpot on AWS servers in the European Union.

Things to keep in mind

Risks and trade-offs to weigh before adopting Teach Up.

  • Two legal perimeters coexist: the privacy policy, terms and cookie policy on the website cover the marketing site only and explicitly exclude the LXP platform, whose own policy is not published
  • The security certifications quoted in the terms — ISO/IEC 27001, HDS, SOC I-II type 2, PCI-DSS and others — belong to OVH Cloud as host, not to Teach Up itself
  • The subscription runs for one year by default and renews tacitly; the notice period must be checked on the order form before signing
  • Free reversibility is capped by a formula based on contract value, and reloading data onto another system is billed separately, with no maintenance of exported modules beyond one month
  • Enabling third-party generative AI shifts part of the governance to that provider's terms, which the customer accepts implicitly
  • Automated adaptation can create a false sense of mastery if dashboards are read as proof of competence rather than as signals; the vendor itself insists the AI must not manufacture an illusion of knowledge
  • Company records disagree on when Teach Up was founded — 2021 on the About page, 2018 in the trade register, 2017 in the edtech press — so any date-sensitive due diligence should be confirmed directly with the publisher
Setup

Setup & Integrations

Technical difficulty

Low for the learning team, moderate for IT. Nothing is installed: the platform runs in a browser and administrator credentials are issued once the order is received, with digital onboarding, a kick-off meeting and a dedicated customer success manager included. Authoring is designed to work without instructional design expertise, but requires a screen of at least thirteen inches and a recent browser. The technical work sits with IT: single sign-on, the open API towards HRIS or CRM, SCORM export and whitelisting the vendor's sending addresses. Partner integrators are mentioned for HRIS or LMS changes.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does Teach Up cost?
No price is published. The pricing page only compares the features of the two offers; the amount, any discount, the number of end users and the effective date are set on the order form issued after a demo.
Is there a free trial or a free plan?
There is a free trial of fifteen days, granted before an order form is signed, but no permanent free plan. Once the trial ends, the applications, the data and any module created during the trial are no longer accessible until a subscription is paid for.
Where is the data hosted?
The solution is hosted by OVH Cloud, with data stored in France. The commercial terms state that, at the date of signature, no personal data is transferred outside the European Union, and OVHCloud is named as the sole further processor.
Is customer content used to train AI models?
No. Teach Up states that customer learning content and data are never used to train public or shared models and remain under the customer's control. Using third-party generative AI inside the applications is optional and disabled by default; if it is enabled, that provider's terms also apply.
Who owns the courses created on the platform?
The customer is the sole holder of the rights over its data and content. Teach Up receives only a limited licence to host, cache, copy and display that material in order to run the service, and that licence ends when the subscription ends.
Is a data processing agreement available?
Yes. Annex 4 of the publicly available commercial terms sets out the GDPR processor clauses, covering purposes, security measures, breach notification, data-subject rights, transfers and the further processor used.
Can Teach Up work with the LMS we already use?
Yes. The Studio is presented as natively compatible with the LMS and LCMS on the market through SCORM 1.2 and 2004. Updates are streamed, so editing a module in Teach Up applies automatically without re-importing anything into the LMS.
Is there a mobile application?
No. Access is through the browser. Learners can use a smartphone, a tablet or a computer, with iOS 10 and above or Android 5.0 and above, but no native application is published on either app store.
What happens to the data and the courses when the contract ends?
On written request to support@teachup.com in the month before the end of the subscription, designated modules are returned as SCORM Offline packages within fifteen days. Personal data is deleted one year after the last day of the subscription, and at the end of the contract Teach Up destroys or returns it at the customer's choice.
What support is included?
A dedicated customer success manager, a human technical support augmented by AI and available around the clock, a help desk reachable at support@teachup.com from 9 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday, weekly group training sessions, digital onboarding, masterclasses and a knowledge base.
Conclusion

Should you pick Teach Up?

Teach Up is a credible option for learning teams that have more content than time. Its core promise is narrow and coherent: take the material a company already owns, let a pedagogical AI turn it into interactive modules, then make every path adapt to the learner instead of pushing the same linear course to everyone. The authoring tool can be bought on its own and plugged into an existing LMS through SCORM, which lowers the cost of trying the approach without replacing the platform already in place.

What sets the vendor apart is less its marketing than its paperwork. The full commercial terms are published as a downloadable PDF and are specific where most vendors stay vague: hosting with OVH Cloud in France, a single named further processor, personal data deleted one year after the last day of the subscription, service levels, backup frequencies, and a reversibility clause that returns modules as SCORM Offline packages. Combined with an explicit statement that customer content never feeds public or shared AI models, this is a stronger position on data than the sector average.

The counterweight is commercial opacity. Nothing is priced, there is no permanent free tier, the default commitment runs for a year with tacit renewal, and the only way to learn what an offer costs is to book a demo. The advertised open API has no public documentation, there is no mobile application, and the privacy policy visible on the website deliberately covers the marketing site rather than the platform being sold. The published terms also date from January 2024 and no longer match the company details shown elsewhere.

Buyers should therefore use the fifteen-day trial to test the authoring experience, and use the demo to pin down scope, price and the platform's own privacy documentation before committing.
